Motel One Edinburgh-Royal

The location, friendly staff, value for money.

All good except for a couple of things: 1) Your coffee is clearly substandard, 2) some variation on the breakfast buffet (cheese snd meats selection, fruit, perhaps the occasional scrambled egg for a change) from one day to the next would be nice (and would perhaps make us stay longer) and 3) at breakfast, it is awkward to find the way back to my seat blocked repeatedly by people queing for coffee or by departing guests. I suggest you find a way to ensure access to all tables even when there are more people around ( position rhe coffee machines at the opposite wall). And please ask guests with luggage to leave via the side door during the busy breakfast hours. It‘s more convenient for everyone.

Breakfast was great, room location not so great, had to take two lifts to get to the room. Would love to have had a refrigerator in the room. Staff were great and very helpful. Definitely would stay here again.

A localização era muito boa e bem perto da estação de trem . Perto da maioria dos pontos turísticos de Edimburgo. O tamanho do quarto também foi um positivo. A cama era boa. Não tivemos experiência com café da manha.

Nosso Quarto era que num prédio anexo, tinha que caminhar um pouco para chegar ao quarto. Mas nada que fosse ruim para quem esta com a caminhada em dia.

Preis Leistung haben überhaupt nicht gestimmt. Völlig überteuert für ein Zimmer was kein wirkliches Tageslicht hatte. Sehr unverschämt.

Localização. Funcionários ótimos e prestativos. Café da manhã bom. Esquecemos uma GoPro (caiu da nossa mochila e não percebemos- quarto super escuro..) saímos para as highlands, e só percebemos lá…! Quando voltamos para Edimburgo a câmera que foi encontrada pela arrumadeira estava guardada. Muito bom!

Quarto muito escuro! Quarto bem pequeno. Banheiro pequeno. Pelo valor cobrado, esperava um pouco mais de conforto. No geral gosto da rede motel O e ( o de Dublin é ótimo), mas esse foi o pior que fiquei em termos de conforto

Sehr zentrale Lage zur Altstadt, Bushaltestelle des Airlink 100 Transferbusses vom Flughafen in unmittelbarer Nähe. Abenteuerliche Gebäude, das Hotel erstreckt sich über mehrere Häuser.

Das Hotel liegt im Stadtzentrum unmittelbar neben der Haltestation des Airlink 100 (Buslinie vom Flughafen ins Zentrum). Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber. Das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen.

Perfect location

Nothing. It doesn’t advertise itself as being a high end elegant hotel. It gives you exactly what you signed up for up for. Great staff, great breakfast and a five minute walk to the Royal Mile. I would definitely stay there again

Rooms were clean, location is excellent, front desk staff was helpful and very friendly.

Room HVAC did not work, no ventilation in bathroom which left everything damp after use. Bar staff wasn’t overly friendly and did not have good knowledge of common cocktails.

Excellent location close to sights (Royal Mile, Castle, new Parliament building, etc) The rail station and the Airlink #100 bus from the airport are less than a block away. Many restaurants, pubs and cafes within easy walking distance.

The room was small and cramped with little storage for luggage and belongings (especially in the bathroom). We are only 2 people with carry-on luggage so that's how small the room is. There is an outdoor restaurant right behind our room so when we opened the windows for ventilation it was very noisy.

I cannot give a definitive opinion since I didn't have breakfast, but the hotel's location was excellent.

One aspect I didn't like was the smell in my room's bathroom; I really didn't care for it. What's more, the odor was persistent.

The hotel was located a five-minute walk from the Royal Mile and was super convenient. Additionally, the property is located near Waverly Station. We were able to drop off our luggage before check in so that we could explore.

La ubicación es inmejorable! Estás cerca de todo. La habitación era pequeña, pero funcional y tenía calentador de agua junto con te y café. El personal muy amable.

Great location across from Waverly station where we can in on the train. Great lobby/ common area and breakfast. Bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful.

Rooms are tight but we were only there to sleep and shower as we were out exploring the majority of the time we were visiting. It was everything we needed and reasonably priced.

Die Lage des Hotels ist absolut top. Nur wenige Schritte in die Altstadt. Mit dem Airlink ist man vom Flughafen in ca. 45 Minuten direkt vor dem Hotel. Die Zimmer sind gut , von unserem Zimmer hatten wir einen tollen Ausblick Richtung Waverly Bridge. Wir haben in dem Bett sehr gut geschlafen. Das Frühstück ist gut und ausreichend. Eine witzige Idee sind die jeden Morgen bemalten Eier :-). Wir waren sehr zufrieden und bestimmt nicht das letztemal hier.

The rooms are dark and TINY, verging on claustrophobic. The first room we were given was mostly below ground level and smelled terrible--like strong mildew mixed with cat pee. The second room didn't smell as bad but backed up on a busy outdoor staircase, which was very noisy. We couldn't open the window so there was no air circulation and the thermostat was broken. The route to our room was also very circuitous--up and down different lifts, through a maze of corridors. Not worth the price. We left after one night and found a far superior hotel around the corner for the same price.

The location is excellent, the design is very pleasing.

Das Hotel lebt von der Lage. Ist aber für much total überbewertet. Es fängt beim sehr einfachen Frühstücken ab, geht über auf ein mageren Zimmer-Service weiter zum Wasser das man nicht zur verfügung bekommt und bezahlen muss. Auch die zimmer sin d einfach aber oke. Die Preisleistung für meine Übernachtungen war nie gerechtfertigt

It is at the heart of Edinburgh. Right next to the railway station. The bestest location. Step out and you are at the beginning of the picturesque Cockburn Street. A welcoming reception area. Great hospitality. Loved the breakfast buffet!

Room was cold, heating controls weren’t working. £360 for a room with only a small skylight and no windows is a lot. Pigeons roost on the roof and can be heard moving around during the night. They were there all night. See photos. Carpet was so grubby I didn’t like walking in it barefoot.

L' hotel si trova in una posizione strategica in pieno centro a due passi da tutto. Il personale è molto cordiale e disponibile. La struttura è nuova, le stanze confortevoli. Una habitación arriba de un bar/restaurante con mucho ruido hasta muy tarde. Puerta del baño se cierra sola, y no hay suficiente ventilación para desempañar el espejo rápido. La televisión la dejan prendida, de modo que cuando uno inserta la tarjeta/llave, de inmediato prende.

De vriendelijkheid van het personeel. De fijne lobby en de centrale ligging. Je bent zo vanaf de bus in het hotel en ook zo in het centrum. Ideaal! Ondanks centrale ligging een rustig hotel, geen geluidsoverlast.

Ik had extra betaald voor uitzicht op het kasteel. We hadden uitzicht op de stad maar niet op het kasteel?

Hotel close to everything

We loved the location across from the train station, and close to the royal mile. Just a quick walk up Cockburn Street to the action near the castle!

The room was bare bones. NO place to put anything away, so you’ll live out of your suitcase on the floor. The ‘bedside table’ was a shelf large enough for a phone. Nothing else. No mini-fridge like most other hotels in the UK offered. A safe so tiny you could only put your passports in it. Bathroom had no shampoo or conditioner or glasses for water. The hallway had multiple sets of steps, so inasmuch as the building had an elevator, lugging the luggage to the room was a pain. At breakfast they offered wonderful fresh croissants, cereals, and nice yogurt with fruit…but the only cooked eggs were “hard boiled”, and the person who cooks them doesn’t understand to plunge them into cold water when they’re done. So peeling a hot boiled egg was an exercise in futility, as half of it went to waste. Would be so much better if they just made a big pan of scrambled eggs like all our other hotels! All in all it was a good place to stay, just some odd things and features lacking.

Purtroppo abbiamo trovato un addetto al check-in che non ha saputo essere educato ed empatico nello spiegarci un’anomalia nel sistema delle prenotazioni. Consiglio vivamente di non pagare subito la stanza ma di scegliere l’opzione “Paga in struttura”; per la prima volta in vita mia ho pagato circa 150€ in più rispetto a quanto avrei pagato in loco il giorno stesso del nostro arrivo. Peccato.

The location was very central to explore Edinburgh, also close to bus and train routes.The room was very clean & bed comfortable, also excellent breakfast choice..I did think the nightly charge was quite expensive for the size of the room however.

It is conveniently located a short walking distance to the Royal Mile. They had a good continental breakfast and excellent staff. The room was good sized and easily accessed by a lift.

I stayed here last year and it is a perfect location, being just across from Waverley Station and between the old and new towns. The rooms are modern, the staff very friendly and helpful, the lifts are good and the help-yourself breakfast is varied and plentiful in a relaxed seating arrangement.

I had a small room at the back this time, so felt a bit hemmed in by the close proximity of the other buildings. The windows could do with net curtains for more privacy. There was no socket anywhere near the mirror, and the kettle had to be plugged in to a socket that the lead didn't reach from the desk. Although I didn't need to use the safe, I had to lock it as it gaped wide open all the time and was between the bed and the bathroom door.

I had a car and they do not have onsite parking. The parking garage is a 15 min walk from the hotel. But they are in Downtown Edinburgh close to everything.

Fab location, clean and comfy room, close to city centre and Royal Mile. Great choices in bar. Close to transport network.

KJlimatyzacja kompletnie nie działała, tylko dmuchała wilgotnym powietrzem, na szczęście było otwierane okno.

Por la temporada tan alta la tarifa fue muy elevada inclusive habiendo reservado con meses de anticipación.

Soddisfatti in tutto ottima struttura a pochi passi dalla fermata del bus che arriva dall’aeroporto vicinissimo a tutto con camminate di 10 minuti ottima colazione con molta varietà pulizia delle camere eccellente staff giovane e cordiale consiglio e ritornerei subito
