Only one elevator was operational, for many residents. The second elevator should have been fixed which would have made it easier for all. Quite a few used the stairs out of frustration. When we booked on booking com, there was no communication about ongoing civil work at the hotel and the unavailability of the hotel parking. We received this confirmation only after receiving confirmation of our hotel booking.

The car park was out of use and we werent informed, we had to park in a multi car park away and we had quite a bit of luggage, also the room was so hot, even with AC doen to the lowest it was a sweqt box and the AC was V loud

Dirty, windows filthy had a power cut on Sunday morning there was a dirty bandage full of blood on the floor of the reception, breakfast cold.

Locatie ideaal tussen Stansted en Londen in. Vlak naast een groot winkelcentrum en heel veel restaurants, klein stukje lopen naar busstation. Top ontbijt, geweldige bedden, zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk personeel, ondanks de gedeeltelijke renovatie weinig overlast gehad van bouwgeluiden. Ook in de omgeving genoeg te doen.

Ons is niets tegen gevallen. Wat wel handig zou zijn is een klein koelkastje. We gaan hier vaker voor kiezen als we weer naar Londen komen!

We just had construction outside our room but we were told before hand.

I liked the room, it was spacious and quiet. The breakfast was great, All the staff were especially helful, approachable and polite.

Reception staff where not very helpful. I booked 2 rooms with sofa bed. On arrival the sofa beds were not made up. Still in sofa position. I asked for bedding. They only gave us bedding for one sofabed. Manager refused to give bedding for 2nd sofa bed even though I showed them proof that I had paid extra for both rooms. Terrible customer service. Eventually after lots of visits to the desk they gave me the extra set of bedding. Last thing we needed after driving for 9 hours

Fantastic location, next to the shops. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Positive attitude, bedding was clean and we had a kettle 🥳

Room was pretty ran down, scaffoldings were right next to our windows, which made us keep the curtains closed to maintain privacy, parking was under construction, so we had to pay for third party parking, instead of using free parking, which was listed in the booking. Had smell of cigarettes in a non-smoking room. Wires tangling down from thr ceiling (for emergency call I suppose), phone in room was broken.

Generally served as a good base for a trip to Harlow - its location is central - the staff were friendly - there’s a bar

Breakfast looked like they could have done with another member of staff - the staff appeared a little overrun at times - there’s a lot of work going on at the building currently but we were warned of this in advance

Even though we booked the room about a year in advance, we were given an interconnected room. When we asked about them giving us a different room, they said they were fully booked. No one had let us know in advance that there were also building works happening until September 2026. Builders were everywhere and made lots of noise. Only 1 lift was working.

No carpark and so had to leave away from the hotel. Scaffolding outside. This is all short term so wouldn’t put me off coming back, but would need the carpark open for convenience

Breakfast was plentiful and mainly of good quality,breakfast staff were helpful , tables etc were clean.

Lower fat options could improve .Fresh fruit needed to be fresher, poached or boiled eggs and frying in low cal oil would have helped. Reception staff were not very welcoming ,other hotels we’ve recently stayed in were noticeably more so.

Pros: Everything was fantastic! The staff was incredibly welcoming, especially Sianna at the reception, who kindly allowed me to check out at 12:00 instead of 11:00—a huge help! The rooms were spotless, quiet (no noise at all from neighboring rooms), and fully equipped with all the amenities you could need, plus great free Wi-Fi. The bathroom was perfectly clean. As for the breakfast buffet, it was incredible, super complete, and everything was delicious. The common areas and lounges were also great places to relax.

Cons: The only downside is the parking. It is not free and spaces are very limited (I counted only about 7 or 8 spots for the whole hotel). Luckily, I found a free spot and had no issues parking overnight, but it’s something to keep in mind.

The staff at the hotel were always willing to help and arrange or settle a solution to our questions. The were very pleasant and courteous at all times. The hotel was very conveniently located and while there was remedial work being undertaken to the external fabric, it did not interfere with our stay. There was a wide choice for the complementary breakfast and the cooked food remained hot throughout.

There was not a lot we did not like

Rooms super clean, shower was very powerful and they had put the Air conditioning on before my arrival which was great as it was a very hot day.

Booking.com state that there is free on site secure parking. There is not, due to very long standing building works. You will have to use the multi-storey next door and pay. There is no agreement for the hotel to reimburse this cost.

Every thing about the HIEx was fantastic with one exception ( see below )

The area of Harlow that the HIEx is located in is straight out of a dystopian horror movie. Next to the police station and a club in the centre of the town. A receptacle was placed nearby to provide somewhere for you to leave your knives and the smell of cannabis hung in the air. Certainly not a safe zone especially as I had to use the terminus car park which was not a great experience.
