On arrival after a lovely welcome, we were shown to our room. Our room was perfect, light airy and if that wasn't enough we came out into the hall and over to the left was a glorious garden in stunning condition, foreshadowing the mournes, sanctuary ❤️

We had a perfect few days full of lovely moments, the only thing we didn't like was,,,,Leaving.

Beautiful place, with a gorgeous garden and a wonderful view of the Mourne Mountains. Excellent breakfast - which we could have a 6:30 on Saturday morning as we had to leave at 07:00.

Klasse! Wenn wir 20 Punkte vergeben könnten, hätten Patricia und John diese verdient! Wir waren 4 Tage dort und wurden so freundlich jedesmal begrüßt, was in diesem Maße in B‘n‘Bs echt eine Seltenheit war. Die Zimmerausstattung im Frontroom war klasse, das Zimmer ebenso groß und geräumig. Uns wurde bei der Ankunft eine Flasche Wein angeboten, sowie täglich frischer selbstgemachter Kuchen. Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich und auch sehr reichhaltig! Der Ausblick auf Slieve Donard und Slieve Commedagh war einmalig, der Weg zum Tollymore Forest sehr kurz. Vielen Dank euch beiden, Patricia und John!

Patricia and John were very welcoming and friendly hosts. The views from our bed room (and shared common spaces ) of the Mournes was amazing. The breakfast was generous. The location was very convenient for the local sights and activities.

Just one thing would make our stay more comfortable which are wee bit bigger glasses for drinks but we have no trouble getting plastic ones in the town

Warm welcome. Lovely room. Excellent breakfasts. Home made treats. Patricia also went out her way to drop us to Dundrum when taxi service was not available, which was super kind and helped so much.

Wir hatten eine fantastische Zeit in der Cherryhill Lodge. Die Zimmer war sehr schön eingerichtet, das Frühstück mit hausgemachten Produkten war hervorragend und mit viel Liebe vorbereitet. Die Eigentümer waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Strandpromenade, das Meer und Geschäfte sind in etwa 30 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Es war ein perfekter Aufenthalt. Wenn wir wieder einmal in der Gegend sind, kommen wir mit Sicherheit wieder.

The hosts were exceptional. Breakfast each morning freshly cooked local produce. Homemade pancakes ,soda bread wheaten along with Homemade jams and marmalade. Homemade chocolate cake each evening left in our room was delicious and a lovely touch. Rooms spotless with good quality Toiletries. Bed extremely comfortable. Lovely outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful garden and view of the mourne mountains. We spotted a deer in the garden one evening!

Amazing stay at CherryHill Lodge. The host was very kind and welcoming, with delicious homemade cake and jams plus thoughtful extras like milk and water in the fridge. Beautiful garden and mountain views from the room and living area—very peaceful and relaxing, truly a hidden paradise.

We loved the location and setting. The owners were exceptional and the property was 5 star.

The garden room which we occupied is really well laid out and comfortably furnished. It has an exceptional view of the garden and mountain beyond. A nice touch is to be able to sit in the small sun room. Patricia and John are exceptional hosts making you feel very welcome. Breakfast variety and quality cannot be faulted. The delicious afternoon cake was much appreciated.

Very nice staff, familiar atmosphere and a very pretty garden. Patricia even made us some sandwiches for our hike. The garden room is very cosy and the bed very comfortable.

The accommodation was excellent. The view from the bedroom was exceptional, even when it rained. Homemade marmalade and bakes soo good. Such a relaxing place to stay!

The hosts are very warm and attentive people, their house is cozy, the surroundings are very beautiful. The breakfast prepared by the hostess is simply perfect, be sure to try their granola :) Everything in the room is thought out to the smallest detail that a guest may need, there was even cake, coffee, milk and tea. From the house you can start hiking in the mountains without a car, everything is so close.

We stayed in the Loft, so we were self catering. We misunderstood the booking details and thought breakfast was included. Patricia explained that as we were self catering breakfast wasn’t included. However, she kindly did breakfast for us on a couple of occasions which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Only niggle I had was that the light pull in the bathroom was out of my 5 foot reach!

Patricia and her family are incredibly welcoming and friendly and helpful. The view from the Garden Bedroom (B&B option but self catering also available) is the best I have seen of the mountainside at Newcastle Co Down. The house and gardens are stunning and the breakfasts are made with local produce and very generous. No lunch needed later in the day!

The property was spotless, everything worked perfectly, the location was great, and the views of the mountains were spectacular. About £6 for a taxi into town. The hosts were very kind and thoughtful enough to have a small treat left for us on arrival and freshly baked bread in the morning, both of which were absolutely delicious.

My entire experience at Cherryhill Lodge was exceptional. The location suited me well, situated just outside of the town of Newcastle, set against the Mourne mountains. The lodge was well kept up, clean, spacious and inviting. My room, which faced the drive, was well laid out with a large comfortable bed, sitting nook, closet space and well appointed ensuite. Coffee, tea and cake were available in the room. The breakfast was exceptional with a number of cold and hot options along with homemade scones, jams and breads. Communication with the lodge owner was flawless, and I very much appreciated the helpful recommendations for dinner and local attractions.

Das beste B&B in dem ich je war! Die Zimmer sind toll, die Betten gemütlich und alles absolut sauber. Das Highlight der Unterkunft sind aber die Besitzer. Die beiden sind super freundlich und hilfsbereit ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Gutes Frühstück, selbst gemachter Kuchen und viele schöne Empfehlungen hatten sie parat. Eigentlich wollten wir nur 2 Nächte bleiben, weil wir eine Rundreise gemacht haben, aber wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt, dass wir noch um eine Nacht verlängert haben.

Wir sind sehr nett und herzlich von John, Patricia und dem süssen Vierbeiner empfangen worden. Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön, stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und in traumhafter Lage mit Blick auf den Mourne Mountain. Alles war sauber, das Bett sehr bequem und die Ausstattung ließ keine Wünsche offen. Zur Begrüßung gab es einen köstlichen Zitronenkuchen. Das Frühstück, das man sich aus mehreren Varianten auswählen und zusammenstellen kann, war sehr lecker und alles homemade. Die Lage ist sehr schön und das Städtchen fußläufig zu erreichen sowie viele Wandermöglichkeiten in unmittelbarer Nähe vorhanden. In diesem B&B kann man sich nur wohlfühlen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort einkehren.

This was my third weekend stay at Cherryhill Lodge and it did not disappoint. As before, it was comfortable and relaxed and Patrica and John were as welcoming as I have come to expect and appreciate. The Lodge itself is just perfect and the rooms are restful and well stocked with tea/coffee facilities. Homemade lemon drizzle cake adds a thoughtful air of luxury! Breakfast remains a particular highlight of choice and quality (and quantity!) and is beautifully presented with wonderful views to aid digestion. I have lots of health issues but my stays provide a lift to the spirit that makes such a difference to me. I look forward to returning in the next couple of months.

Lovely quiet loft over a garage. Technically a studio, but very large with a dinning table, seating area, kitchen area with Fridge, Freezer, oven Microwave, toaster and kettle. Very comfy sofa and bed. There was a little one bed room off to the side and shower room with an electric shower. Lovely secluded outside seating area with a table and 4 chairs and 2 loungers with a parasol. The balcony area was fenced in and had a gate at the top of the stairs. It had the sun in parts for most of the day, if you moved the chairs about. Check in and out very easy. 10min drive into town, but it is walkable. Large carpark for hiking in the mountains. Note: it does fill up quickly. We were there at 9 on a Saturday and the over-flow carpark was already in use. When we were leaving at about 2pm it was full.

Beautiful spacious home with amazing hospitality. 100% recommended. Patricia is a wonderful host & Daisy, the family dog is so cute. Delightful homemade cakes prepared for afternoon tea - scrumptious.

We had a wonderful stay - the hosts couldn’t have been any kinder or welcoming. The rooms were so comfortable and the view from the garden room was beautiful! The breakfast every morning was amazing and so great we could pick what we wanted.

We wish we could have stayed longer and will miss the breakfast terribly!

We were made to feel very welcome and treated as special throughout. There was a fridge with fresh milk to use with the tea/coffee making facilities. Beautiful views. Lovely garden. Very good room with comfy bed. Excellent choice for breakfast, including home-made bread, scones, and jam. cooked to order. Good parking. Very good location for touring the area and short drive into town with free car parking. Highly recommended.

We had the self catering loft apartment for 2 nights. It was very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. It was in a quiet location on the edge of Newcastle.

This was my second stay. As I experienced before, the reception is warm and friendly, the accommodation is first class, the setting is wonderful and the breakfast is just perfect with a good choice of items to suit all tastes. I will go back again. Wholeheartedly recommended!

A beautiful property, with the lovely Mourne mountains as a backdrop. John and Patricia are wonderful hosts, very helpful and knowledgable about he area, my room was lovely, very comfortable with some some lovely homemade treats supplied by Patricia. Breakfast was excellent, with a wode variety of choices available to cater for different dietary requirements.

We love everything about Cherryhill Lodge. We have stayed many times in this property and always feel relaxed and at home from the moment we arrive. The owners go out of their way to make your stay very special. It is such a beautiful location with a stunning garden to enjoy in the breakfast room. The owner makes her own delicious granola, bread and cake. What a treat. We cannot recommend it highly enough 😊

Absolutely beautiful location with the most gracious hosts. Close to all the attractions but peacefully tucked away. The view of the mountains and the garden is exceptional

Room was nicely decorated, spacious with plenty of storage for clothing. Nice bathroom with a great overhead rain shower. Big, comfy bed. View from the breakfast room and upstairs sunroom over the gardens and towards the mountains was lovely. Location was very convenient for a walking trip in the Mourne Mountains and also only a few minutes from the town centre. Lots of options to choose from at breakfast. I only stayed for 2 nights but wish I could have stayed longer and would love to return one day.

The accommodations were lovely. We especially enjoyed Tricia and her family making us feel welcome. There were several personal touches done, i.e. leaving homemade cakes in our room everyday. I found our stay to be relaxing and I highly recommend staying at the Cherryhill Lodge.

Everything, great location, walking distance into town. Short drives to all tourist attractions. Breakfast was gorgeous on both mornings with fresh baked bread and scones. What we loved most was the homely feeling we had throughout our stay. Rooms were perfect size with great bathroom facilities. Shower was perfect after a long day hiking.

Totally enjoyed my stay, so glad I chose the garden room, such beautiful views , one day I walked into town which was a pleasant walk from the property, everyone was so kind and friendly, made me feel comfortable. Even there little dog was a cutie !!
