Reviewed Jul 14, 2026We have stayed at Vita Nova before. The location is super convenient to the university and all the amenities in and around the Westfield Riccarton Mall. The staff are very helpful. During our winter stay they helped with de-icing the car windows before we set off each day. The room itself was very clean and well presented. We always enjoy our stays here.
The towels and facecloths are starting to fray quite badly. The drain in the middle of the bathroom floor needs a good scrub. Neither of these things would put us off staying again as they are easily addressed.

really small inside, the bedroom with larger bed had no doors, it went straight intot he lounge, we were travelling with our older son so really no privacy when I went to bed early, second room with 2 single beds was fine. Its like they have taken a one bedroom apartment and squeezes a second room in there as an afterthought. We have stayed here before and got a fantastic room upstairs, lots of room and privacy. I would stay hear again but ask for un upstairs room

Reviewed Apr 1, 2026Fantastic little hotel in a good location with lots of buses and not to far from the CBD in an Uber. Clean, tidy, comfy bed, light cooking facilities, Heat pump, tv with internet access, wifi. Had everything I needed, good sized fridge, free washing machine and dryer. Staff were friendly and polite and my room was serviced daily, rubbish removed and fresh towels when required. It's not a five star resort but I found it quite comfortable, clean and good value. Met all my expectations and I would stay here again. Thank you.
Well everything was pretty good. The clothes dryer doesn't work great but it's free so can't complain too much, just had to hang clothes up overnight in the room to dry that last bit. There is no range hood for cooking so you have to make sure you open some windows to let the breeze through so don't set off fire alarm and cook at lower heat. Overall its a good, honest, quiet place to stay and good value.

Reviewed Feb 26, 2026This little motel exceeded our expectations. The room had way more space than we expected including a fridge and small kitchen area. Bed was comfy. close to airport and lots of eating options 8-10 min walk down the road.
No deadbolt on the door or swing lock. There was only the door handle which is keyed. We had no issue, and we felt safe in the neighborhood, but it was the first time we’d been in a motel/hotel that didn’t allow us to double lock the door from the inside.

Reviewed Jan 21, 2026Rooms were very clean and cosy, easy excess to mall very easy to find. Parking space a little bit bigger would be great but it is quite small area for the location. Apart from that really had a lovely time my two girls loved sleeping upstairs. Overall was great.
More cooking utensils would be great like a bigger pot, cooking spoon instead of only fish slicer for frying stuff. Windows are quite low.
