Ascot Vale Motor Lodge

Easy check in. Room was good size.

The room had some smell which took some time to clear. No water bottles.

The location

Nothing

Friendly accommodating staff

Location Comfy bed

Plenty of spacious parking, and they even provide fresh milk when you check in, which was a nice touch.

The room could definitely use better heating, and there was no air conditioning. The bathroom wasn’t heated at all, which made showering pretty miserable in winter.

Location was perfect for us. Close to amenities. Quiet. Good facilities.

Some things are in need of maintenance - shower sealant; toilet roll holder, general tidiness around carpark. Bathroom windows could have double catches for airing.

For the public transport access from the airport, being walkable to Christchurch City centre and our forward on travel from Christchurch train station to Picton. Host looked after us with daily fresh meal and sweetly top ups. Nice touch 😋😜

Lack of space on kitchen worktop surface , maybe need to look into mounting the microwave on a wall bracket to free some work top space. Better quality cooking utensils. Very basic but functionable.

Love the environment the customer service and the cleanliness

Nothing everything was perfect

Location was good, good parking, friendly staff

Plastic jug, kitchen tap, hot, had to turn lots of times to get water flowing ( small issue)

Staff offering help

Nothing particular

Lovely person at reception when I checked in and check out

room was freezing and took a while to get warm once I worked out where the heater was

Estaba muy limpio, muy amplio y el agua caliente salía al momento. El personal súper amable.

Hace un poco de frío, pero tienes radiadores para enchufar.

Very clean. Lovely staff, welcoming and the chocolate was a nice touch. One of the better motels ive stayed in thats in the lower price range.

Good location

Good communication with staff when no of guests was double checked. When I had a problem with theXcover website re adding names of the other 2 guests, staff sorted it. The original Booking.com online site only asked for the name of the main guest but Xcover needed all names before approving insurance and their info was initially confusing.

The motel experience was excellent, but online form booking forms for Booking.com needed just the main person's name and Xcover asked for all names and this step was not straightforward. Solved by contacting the Chat system on Xcover and the Ascot Vale staff.

Location was excellent for where we wanted to be. The reception staff are so obliging , making sure our stay is comfortable.

Location, and also the cleanliness of the place.

Nothing

Did not order breakfast. Location excellent for our commitments

All excellent.

We were offered assistance with our luggage (which was great as we had a few bags), fresh milk in a bottle for our coffee and there was washing machine in the laundry area available for guests.

The care taken by the owner in welcoming and ensuring we had all we needed.

It was good to have a single and double bed but sadly it proved to be quite cramped in the kitchen area, ok perhaps for a one night stay.

Clean! The bed is also good enough, and the price is great.

The heater. It is not a biggie because they also provided 2 more heaters, but if you need warmth fast, you won't, because the heater in the room is kinda outdated.

Great place to stay, staff are so obliging to make sure you are comfortable.

Everything, was easily accessible, comfortable, lovely staff

There was a big stain on the roof, looked quite dirty & needs new toilet brush. Nothing major

Staff really lovely and unit comfortable and clean. Sky TV was a bonus.

Comfortable and clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Good location midway down Riccarton Rd. We had a two-bedroom unit and it was roomy with basic but useful amenities.

The double bed in our 2-bed unit was very soft, so if that’s not your thing, check to see what options they have.

Super friendly stuff and easy check in. Nice and clean room with heating, good choice for winter

Nothing

Close to airport, not far from super market and restaurants, friendly staff and good recommendations on restaurant.

A bit small for big van parking, but it is ok if not too many cars

The location was perfect for our needs, very clean, warm, hot shower and a very comfortable bed.

Nothing to add

Good location. Comfortable accommodation

Staff were so wonderful, very friendly and happy. Such great value for money and a lovely quiet spot for our young family

Shower floor felt unstable, but this reflects the price of the stay

Owners were really lovely and so helpful. Close to Riccarton and very central. Close to university.

Parking was a bit tight.

Staff were lovely, our son received a ‘welcome’ bar of chocolate. The bed was COMFORTABLE! Best sleep I’ve had away from home! Shower pressure was an added bonus! Top notch family studio!

Staff were very welcoming. Location was great. Alot of eateries around and the mall a few minutes away.

The sofa bed was terrible. Not comfortable at all.

Excellent customer service and care. Provided extra milk. Very accommodating for our large group.

The customer service was outstanding. The rooms were large and well equipped. Awesome shower pressure. Bed was comfortable

Great hosts, big rooms, awesome shower and comfortable beds. Has Sky TV. Quiet rooms, set off the road. Very friendly. Rooms were clean and well equipped.

Ok location

Heating, oil heater in bedrooms and heater in lounge only worked on high, windows need security latches as opened too wide. Pricey for a 3 star?

We were given upgrade so we were happy about that and the showers were incredibly hot in a very short period of time and it was very quiet

Nothing

Great staff, accommodating. Quiet, despite sited on a busy road.

Could do with a bathroom mirror adjacent to the sink.

It was easy to access and in close proximity to where we needed to be. The room was very private and free of a lot of foot traffic. Quiet and relaxing.

The only complaint and it’s an incredibly minor one as we weren’t there very often was that the couch wasn’t overly comfortable.

N/A

A bit dated

Convenient to everything. Near Westfield and Church corner

The people working here were extremely welcoming to us and our children. We had a very warm welcome, the team was incredibly helpful, the beds are comfortable, its easy to reach by bus from the airport and the city centre, many sources of light that you can individually turn on/off, and the appartment was clean. It exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend it!

Was close to the mall and a 10 minute drive to airport

Great location and price.

Fold out couch mattress was super thin when it had been requested it should have had a topper perhaps to make it slightly more comfortable when it's offered as a 3 person unit someone is expected to sleep on the couch. I've slept on many fold out couches but this was basically on the springs. Otherwise great unit.

Easy to access, clean. Simple, I felt comfortable.

Shower leaked all over the floor 😅 Small carpark, made of a bit difficult with a large car.

Very friendly managers.

War sauber und wir hatten ein riesiges Zimmer mit allem was man braucht.

Hab nichts.

Black mold on the roof was it was freezing

When checking in, was given a ground level room so my elderly father wouldn't have to climb the stairs. Room was nice and warm, and quiet.

A couple of light bulbs needed replacing.

The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was large. Face flannels were provided which is always a bonus. The shower was strong and there was plenty of hot water. The cooking facilities were adequate.

There was no beside table on one side of the bed. One side was close to a wall with a wall light that could easily be knocked.

Location on bus route and facilities

Busy main road frontage but quite within units

great location, airport direct bus at nearby stop can take you to and from airport, no need to take expensive Uber, clean room with kitchen, we stayed here for our first and last night in South Island, owner was really friendly and helpful, very clean room, free parking space.

nothing

Very welcoming staff, comfy beds and good location close to town.

Nothing

We were grateful for the upgrade given. Was a definitely larger room than booked. There's also a laundry room available to use but it does close at 8pm. Location wise, was great. There was a mall nearby for groceries.
