The team was very friendly and willing to assist. The location was extremely convenient and the area is beautiful. It is very easy to walk to restaurants and shopping areas.

The wifi wouldn't connect with my log in details so I had to use my hotspot.

The restaurant was delicious the staff were extremely kind, they upgraded our room after hearing about our last hotel which was a scam AND they allowed us to check in early! highly recommend

Nice property and very spacious rooms with spacious bathrooms. Located in the leafy Former French Concession which we loved. Metro station exit next door and opposite which was excellent. Breakfast is ok and staff generally helpful.

Rooms needed updating in parts - wallpaper had stains. The pool looks very municipal. Note only the king bedrooms face the inner courtyard. We needed 2 beds but these face the road.

Hotel is located in a chic and quaint neighbourhood of Shanghai, also known as the French Concession area. It's abt 15 mins walk to Wukang mansion and there are many good coffee roasteries and brunch cafes around within walking distance. There is a Metro station just beside the hotel (line 1). They gave us a free room upgrade, room size was huge and comfortable. Housekeeping was spotless. Gym was well equipped, facing the indoor swimming pool.

Not a deal breaker, just that lighting system was weird, it's either you turn off all the lights or all turned on. Even the partial turned on lights are too bright for someone who wants to sleep first. Pillows are too soft.

Very quiet and luxurious. Very helpful staff and good customer service.

Receiption and the room service

Location of the property was good - Next to train station, about <100m from a convenience store. Staff was excellent in handling our special requests (we had to make use of their freezer to store some breast milk) Staff was helpful when resolving our issues with China apps like Meituan Rooms were spacious, beds were exceptionally comfortable. Rooms were very clean. Hotel is very tastefully decorated with nice pieces of modern art and even a place to appreciate Chinese Tea.

Hotel was pricey. Services like spa / laundry were very expensive.

Bath towel is too old and off the white color

Location. The staff is very nice and friendly. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable (bedding etc).

The rooms could be way cleaner. Lot of dust on the furniture and on the carpets. The daily room cleaning is not properly done either. Same thing in the halls and in the gym.

Les chambres sont très spacieuses et la literie très confortable. L’emplacement est parfait dans le quartier français. La piscine est impressionnante. Le restaurant propose une carte internationale : tout est frais et préparé sur place.

L’entretien de l’espace bien-être et des douches devrait être amélioré.

Spacious room, clean and quiet. I slept well here. The neighbourhood was green.

We were very satisfied with our stay. It’s a very quiet, peaceful, and beautiful place. The area and location are convenient. We enjoyed the view of the inner courtyard and the sound of birds singing. We recommend choosing a room with a garden view. The staff were attentive and friendly, helped us, and changed our room. The breakfasts were delicious and varied. We liked everything.

Location is good but everything else a disappointment.

The hotel is not worthy of the IHG chain. It is only 3 stars. The maintenance of the hotel is poor. The design has flaws. The "master" light switched off completely so the room was pitched dark and the bathroom did not have a night-light at night. After I pointed this out, a technician had to bring a table lamp to plug into the bathroom floor the whole night. The water temperature in the shower was inconsistent, hot one minute and cold the next, I had to keep turning the dials so I did not catch a cold. The drapes and blinds were sharing the same touch buttons so it was confusing to make it open or shut. Only one out of three concierges spoke English (he was helpful), and they also act as porters so, often their desk was empty. When I needed to cancel a dinner reservation and there was no concierge around, I went to the front desk, a tall guy on duty 31st March evening named Gavin, was so arrogant he refused to assist, saying it's not his job to do so. There was not even a line behind me. When I pointed out there was no concierge around to help me, he told me to wait for him. I was in a hurry and got really irritated. I insisted and said I will report him to IHG, only then he reluctantly wrote down details. What sort of hotel is this???

Very beautiful place with exceptional garden full of birds singing in the morning. It is literally as you in photos. Breakfast is very rich and you may find lots of variety both local and international. Metro is in the same building, which was very convenient.

They kept the amenities in minimum in the room- we had family room and there were only 1 sample of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The last day ( we stayed for 3 days) the air conditioner was malfunctioning and staff couldn’t handle it.

L'hotel è davvero molto bello, in un quartiere di Shanghai vicino a molti ristoranti, bar, centri commerciali e negozi raggiungibili anche a piedi. La camera era spaziosa, pulita, ben isolata dai rumori esterni e il letto comodo. Ho avuto dei problemi con il termostato della camera e il personale mi ha risposto cordialmente, provando dapprima a risolvere il guasto mentre ero fuori per lavoro e poi dandomi a disposizione un'altra camera.

La colazione è molto ricca, sia con cucina tipicamente cinese, sia occidentale. Da intollerante al lattosio mi era un po' difficile capire cosa potessi o non potessi mangiare. A parte il latte di soia, non c'erano alternative "senza lattosio" a yogurt e altri derivati.

Always nice to be back at HUALUXE, convenient location and great environment.

They seemed to updated the ambient light control from my last visit, now you got 3 options but realistically only between “completely dark” and “full blown day lights”…

Hotel in my favorite part of Shanghai. Lots of pretty streets, great shops and cafes. Easy to get around. Line 1 station right next to hotel. Very serene hotel with spacious rooms.

My favourite hotel in Shanghai Spacious big clean bathroom cum shower room cum toilet. Spacious big room and nice view. Nice swimming pool. Nice breakfast and the kids look forward for the buffet, nicecarea for them to run around. And thanks for the room upgrade.

The location was superb being just in front of a train station that was only a few stops away from the City Centre and the breakfast spread and variety was excellent.

The beds were too soft for my preference but the rooms were very good sized with a fantastic toilet that was super luxurious.

Our room was very spacious for 3, nice and clean, big bathroom with bath and separate shower and separate toilet. Easy walking distance to shops.

The breakfast was great! Mostly local food, which wasnt a problem for us. The room was massive and the staff were all really pleasant. The master light switch that turns everything off was something I didnt know I needed.

Some things looked a little worn and the toilet couldve been cleaner.

The hotel room facilities are a bit old and tired, the smart toilet smells odd. Breakfast was average vs the 5 star hotel standard in Shanghai and there’s no bar in the hotel which was a disappointment given that they have so many foreign guests. With the same money we enjoyed better service from other 5-Star hotel chains in Lujiazui…

Good value, large room

The location is great, next to the metro station and within distance to the French concession.

Our room had only lukewarm water, and despite sending an engineer, the issue was never resolved, leaving us quite disappointed. At checkout, the receptionist simply said she would make sure we have hot water next time. Additionally, the bathrooms in the lobby had an unpleasant odor and appeared run-down.

Original architectural idea and design is great! Respect to the authors!

The hotel in general needs renovation. Bad condition of the property. Half of the SPA functions were out of order. I made the decision with the choice of this hotel also because of a steam room and got a steam room with cold (!) floor and seat. No water massage. No cold shower. At reception I spend more than 40 min in conversation about the payment: the receptionist was making “magic tricks” with the variety of my Visa and Master cards - he wants me to go to the cash machine for some reason. I insisted on position that all of my cards are working well in Shanghai and the problem is just with that reception - so he work with bank card reader in a correct way and it accepts all the payment ….

We love the area it's super close to Hengshan road exit two metro and more so across the road you have so many Western restaurants to choose from. Our favourite part was to be close to Shanghai Community Fellowship church our home away from home...we will be back every Sunday till we fly back home! The staff was super helpful,we had fantastic weather and breakfast indoors or outdoors it is really the best option. We lived in Shanghai for many years before now coming back only for holidays and this is really an amazing hotel to invite friends to your Home sweet home Shanghai!!
