Kempinski Hotel Chongqing

This is a great hotel, well designed and kept. The staff are incredibly helpful and have gone out of their way to help on a personal level during this trip. The bed is comfortable with pillow options available, amazing views and such a good location to see most of the ‘must sees’ in the city within 20 minutes. Food has also been great throughout…

We, a family of 4, just stayed 3 nights at this great hotel. We enjoyed the stay a lot. The service of the staff is perfect, the kindness and the willingness to help is outstanding. The rooms are great, old style european luxus which I as an european like a lot. The pool and other facilities are perfect. We tried the breakfast which also was perfect. This hotel is among the best Kempinski hotels I have stayed at. I would give them 6 stars if I could. See you again next time we are in Chongqing.

Very good location near by metro, buses.

I checked out from Room #27XX, and my stay was truly amazing. I was upgraded to an Executive Suite for 6 days and 5 nights, which made the experience even more special. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Reservations team, especially Plus, who assisted with my booking and helped resolve an issue with my parcels prior to check-in. At the reception, Kerry was exceptionally kind, and the check-in process was fast and smooth. I would also like to thank the reception team members David and Freya (if I’m not mistaken, on duty on 3 February during the noon shift). They were very thoughtful and kindly extended my late check-out until 6:00 pm after learning that I was unwell. My thanks also go to the concierge, Garry, who assisted with my parcels and helped me place in-room dining orders when I was unable to scan the QR code in the room. Lastly, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the housekeeping staff, Heroine and Madam Dora, for keeping the room spotless. The small handwritten note she left truly touched me. Thank you to the entire team at Kempinski Chongqing. You are all amazing.

Location convenient for taxi/ride-hailing. About 20 small restaurants including a luckin coffee n kfc at walking distance. Very clean but shower floor tends to pool water near the door. Fluffy bathrobes, plenty of storage, glassware and good desk lamp. But odd light system requiring patience to click through to the setting desired. Room. Service on wechat mini program keeps defaulting ro ads. Good sized gym and pool, but sauna,steam room and plunge pool on low energy saving mode. Staff were polite and helpful. Food at the German bistro was good despite low season.

Alles was naar wens ontvangst aan de deur prima ik was nog niet uitgestapt of de bagage was al uit de koffer van de wagen . Receptioniste heeft met een mooi en gemeende glimlach verwelkomt. Alles verliep vlekkeloos zonder problemen ze spreken er goed engels . Kamer zeer ruim en alles is kraak net geen stof of dergelijks . Je kan Douche je kan een bad nemen de wc alles is ruimte. Heb een kamer gekregen op een hoge verdieping .met mooi uitzicht .genoeg liften een zes tal dus je hoeft niet lang te wachten . Ontbijt ook rijkelijk niets te kort er is ook brood. Wil je iets plannen of zo kan ook geregeld worden door de receptie ik vroeg om naar Wulan te gaan die heeft alles geregeld voor mij . Als je het een beetje gehad hebt met streetfood wat hier zeker niet slecht is kan je hier een all you can eat formule in het hotel zelf .er is ook een brouwerij voor de bier liefhebber daar kan je ook ala cart eten . Kom je buiten 100 meter ver heb je taxi die u naar het centrum brengen voor max 20 yen. Winkel centrum aangrenzende met hotel .

Great location, super nice hotel, very nice rooms. You can tell it’s been several years since opening, but still top notch, luxurious. Great beds and sheets.

I had a very pleasant stay at Kempinski Chongqing. The concierge staff were especially helpful - assisted us with our packages and returns, communicated with Merchants in Chinese, which made things so much easier. I believe the gentleman’s name was Songu (or similar, 100% name starts from S). Thank you for that! Excellent service.

The staff wete so accomodating and kind to us after a medical emergency and a stay in hospital. The food is excellant,rooms luxurious and there was nothing that was too much trouble for everyone we interacted with. Special thanks to the manager, Hurris who went above and beyond what we expected during this time, thank you.

My partner had a medical emergency when we first arrived in Chongqing, and I have nothing but praise for the warmth and concern they showed us! All the staff were very friendly and helpful! In particular the operations manager Hurris was particularly attentive and personable! Any problems, of which we only had a couple, he fixed in a short space of time! Our housekeeper Dora Pu was friendly, efficient and helpful, as were the front desk staff and the restaurant staff and managers in both the Brew House and the Elements Dining Room! Highly recommended!

It was a little out of the way . But I think everything is so spread out so it doesn’t matter we’re you stay.

Location, hard to define as Chongqing is so spread out, it is near the river, there are eateries outside, a shopping mall along the river. The rooms are large, we upgraded to a suit as prices in China are very reasonable. It was MASSIVE , well appointed & gave you access to the VIP executive lounge, basically nibbles, tea coffee & soft drinks all day. Of an evening small selection of Hot food etc etc, plus free beverages. And afternoon tea is served. Beds very comfortable, mini fridge. Late checkout. The breakfast choice is massive & without doubt the best breakfast we have so far in our 3 weeks in China. We ate dinner in the Brew House, only ones there, AUSTRALIAN 200 DAYS GRAIN FED BLACK ANGUS BEEF RIB-EYE, requested medium, it was cooked to perfection, lovely & hot, very tender. All their staff are friendly & helpful. They go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. Highly recommend this Hotel.

Excelent just far from walking areas but taxi takes you for cheap price

Very nice hotel with excellent services from Mr Paul Zhu,Ms Amy Luo and Mr Henry Huang, they are really good while doing their job. Hotel must do some renovations in all spaces. Aircond, mattress, bathroom, carpets, foods, english trainer.

Room and lobby are spacious.

Even though the property surroundings smell horrible the hotel is wonderful and lovely. The staff is friendly and helpful for foreigners, they were always trying to help us and translated everything with a smile.

Clean but old

I plan for a trip in Chongqing for 5 day, and choose Kempinski hotel in ChongQing for 2 nights cause of the concept of this brand "Lady in RED" but when check in haven't seen it 😬 a bit disappoint but not much. I stay here for celebrate my birth day, the hotel offer me with high floor, nice room + nice view, and staff is lovely(The boy who checkin/checkout me. Also, birthday day is cake very delicious i love it.

I was a frequent visitor to Chongqing, often staying at the Kempinski Chongqing, until the pandemic disrupted my travel plans. After a long hiatus, Nov 5 2024, I returned to the hotel and was pleasantly surprised to be recognized by appearance and warmly greeted by the lovely Lday in Red Emily. Her friendly welcome made me feel valued and honored. I believe the management should commend Emily for her exceptional service in cultivating customer loyalty. I was disappointed by the lack of friendliness from other staff members. One particular incident involved a staff member in a manager's uniform who nearly bumped into me as she rounded a corner. Her continued, uncourteous stare was quite unsettling.

・There was a new male concierge, and he was confused about arranging a taxi, so it took a while. ・I gave permission to the cleaning staff to clean during a meeting in the room. However, they were not considerate, blaring their smartphones and yelling.

It was comfortable and enjoyed the bath and time in the room looking at the view. The staff were helpful and friendly being great. Plenty of water amenities were good. The breakfast and buffet dinner was very good having a great variety for us as Westerners.

The AC didn’t work properly and room was very hot however they changed us but not strong AC in that room. We were given fan being good. I appreciated the fruit platter as an apology of the first room with poor AC basically not working first night. It’s a bit rustic tired older appliances cords were stripped on bedside lamps making it dangerous to touch. Plus cleaning needs to improve as had a half eaten cucumber on the floor left over from previous guests, it wasn’t cleaned away near our rubbish bin for over two days which we put it in the bin ourselves. For Kempinski standard should be better given not cheap hotel to stay in. I’d stay again but they need to address some of these things to be better.

wonderful service for mandy in executive lounge your considerate and amiable service really impressed me during our phone call. although the executive lounge doesn't have email or instagram, their communication skills are good. I can hear their sincerity and patince for such a foreigner like me

New Years Eve 2023, got a great deal here. Superb service at reception, nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile. Lovely room, Uber comfy bed, and a great breakfast that was really needed.Thoroughly recommended and will be back. One thing though. Eleven years ago, when I lived here, I was a regular at the Paulaner Brauhaus. Now debranded, downgraded and if we are honest a bit of a white elephant. What happened? Back then it was the place to go, in the summer full outside as well as in. Football days saw a great crowd. We had Oktoberfest and everything and the in house band were brilliant. This year the beer was wierd, the food tepid and the live band inaudible. We left the NYE party at 10.30. I won't come here again ( Brew House) to taint the memory any further. How dare they destroy something so special? Still as a hotel, it is very good.

Kempinski Chongqing is a nice hotel a bit from the classic city center. Very few people on the staff speak English, which makes it very hard to get the usual service that you expect from a Kempinski hotel. As an example, there is no room service menu in English so it is impossible to order any service to the room. The hotel is 10 years old and that might be seen in the bathrooms. And the cleaning is not the best, so don't expect a normal Kempinski level. However, the staff is nice, even though it is difficult to communicate with them

Front desk people very friendly and supportive.

....... but communication capability in English language decreased compared to 3 years ago, dramatically. Makes everything more difficult and time consuming to get anything done or questions answered.

The booking was done already with excellen recommendations and upon arrival it was more than amazing to see this excellen reception and concern on getting us into a real luxurious room with a spectacular view on the city ansd the river. There were a couple of small suprises, even the manager made sure that we were most comfortable and spoiled. This stay was beyond many expectations and I must give a big thank you to everyone involved from the crew. I definitely will go again.

Great location, albeit not too close to the subway. If you're willing to take a cab, then most places are not too far away.

The room temperature was abnormally high, probably due to the centrally controlled AC. Bed sheets felt quite rough on the skin, not what I'd expect from a 5-star hotel.

竟然在重庆冬天酒店空调太热不能调整，服务员也没有解决，实在想不通。

Old hotel built in 2012 I would not come back again but for 500 rmb a night it’s not horrible. Staff are nice, rooms are clean and breakfast not bad. But it just feels old. Lobby is old, carpets are old, room lighting is bad and difficult to use and AC too warm and not adjustable. Check out took a while as they only had 2 people on staff but they were very helpful with good attitude. If it’s your only choice in the area you will be fine - just don’t expect too much.

I spent two nights at Kempinski Chongqing in their suite. Great view and value for an upper scale brand in downtown. I was lucky and just in time for their executive lounge re opening. Happy hours was offered with decent selection of liquor and snack. The manager Betty was really helpful and helped with planning my day trip in the city. Overall a great stay and would definitely recommend to friend and family.

Well located hotel to the south of the main Yuzhong District at competitive prices for international premium hotel brand and very polite and attentive customer service. All the staff speak decent English so its great for tourists who don't speak Chinese. Overall meets my expectations of Kempinski hotels in China. For full transparency my original post about this hotel complained about the pool and gym that were closed during the peak holiday season in China and which I was not informed about until check-in and it was too late to change hotel. The front desk manager kindly offered access to the Club Lounge to say sorry, and I fully enjoyed the wonderful city views it offers. Also they did not ask me to change my original review so I feel that they are genuine in their apology. Next time I come to Chongqing I look forward to trying out the pool.

Currently staying at the hotel, and checked in smoothly late at night. However, had to change my room the day after as it didn't meet the expectations. The most annoying thing is their non-operational sports facilities and swimming pool. There were no communication from anyone during the booking and after arrival and check in. There is no notice anywhere till you arrive facing thr closed doors. Even in front of the locked doors, there were no signs. This is truly frustrating, charging the normal rate and offering less to customers. This is not acceptable for a 5-star hotel - no communication whatsoever! The hotel lobby also looks a bit rusty and location is not so great.

Were given a room 1019 above the air conditioning units for the hotel. Very noisy and asked to change rooms. Moved to 2018. Aircon did not work. Asked for a repair to be done. We were given a fan and told that's it!! Very poor management. Generally grubby hotel other than the lobby and restaurant floor. Not near a five star rating.

Brilliant hotel, modern and clean with very comprehensive breakfast and easy access to metro.

价格的确便宜 五星级酒店我定的两晚不超1000。 但是酒店硬件设施➕服务都不值这个价格。 首先地段：不在闹市区无论去哪里都要要打车20分钟距离 其次硬件：大堂很老旧，香薰味道太重，廉价香水味。一张沙发都没有。只有几个板凳。 房间：房间有两点我是满意的。第一房间很大。第二床很舒服。 不满意：还是老旧引起的。所有LED的灯都年久违修。开关无法正常关闭。几个氛围灯无法关闭。最让我不舒服的是毛巾。看上去可能三年没有换？毛巾都被洗的边都没有了。很薄。而且发黄。所有大大小小毛巾都是这样的。到处都是黄色小广告的名片。我都不敢想象，真的是重庆的五星级酒店？安保措施那么松？能纵容这样的事情发生？酒店门口满地黄色小广告。 酒店大门外全是摆摊的小贩。 真的是大失所望。 这个和一百一晚的小旅馆有本质差别么？ 差评。

Room very Clean, staff friendly and helpful! Great location.

I was upgraded to the club lounge floor on the 31st floor and was suitably impressed by the well equipped club lounge and oft replenished offerings during lunch, tea and dinner time. Best was the pork knuckles (which probably came from the paulanner restaurant downstairs. The outstanding staff was Vicky Ou in the club lounge. She speaks impeccable English and us super caring. I caught a chill and she gave me a local concoction which helped a lot. Works non stop yet constantly have a cheery smile for everyone. I will definitely stay again

Stayed here while attending a travel agent conference. Good hotel but just a few niggles. Although I requested a non smoking room this wasn't granted even though I am a cpap user. Most rooms allow smoking. They were very full so no other rooms available so had to leave the windows open night and day. Comfy beds but room lights were a nuisance. Good facilities. Good food.

Location is perfect for conferences or meetings. Service very good with nothing too much trouble. Room clean and good size. Maid service discreet. Good restaurants nearby along with coffee shops. Short ride from the airport.

The hotel stay was very pleasant and comfortable. The room we had was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials. The staff was very polite and helpful and speak good command of English. The front desk staff all were professional, pleasant, friendly and extremely helpful and caring. The location was very convenient to move around and many activities. If we were to travel to Chongqing again, we would definitely stay in your hotel. I have no hesitation in recommending Kempinski to our friends. The hotel is not up to real 5 star hotel . Could be better . Towels are too old and smelly. Hotel staff can’t speak English and very difficult to understand guest needs. Concierge service is poor and below standard.

I stayed at Kempinski Chongqing with my family in August 2019; it was the best stay. Staff spoke English and were always ready to assist. At the reception we met Joyce, she was exceptional. Check-in was swift despite being a busy afternoon. Breakfast was great and with a wide range of options; we were able to sample Chinese cuisine as well as other international cuisines. David Bing at the entrance made sure our luggage reached our room soonest. Mr. Rock Zuo (Dir of rooms) was very kind to us from day one, he offered to upgrade our room and extended our check out time on the last day...Thank you. The best experience I’ve had in China was at Kempinski. Il definitely come back.... Thank you.

Rain shower didn't work but was promptly attended to. Pillows too soft and flat, only one other choice of pillow. Should provide more pillow option

The stay was overall a pleasant one. Hotel was nice and conveniently located. There were some minor issues but the staff from management to front desk were very polite and helpful; tried their best to please. Most of them speak and understand English. Our special compliments goes to Rock, what works I believe in the concierge department. He literally bent over backwards to solve the issue we encountered catching the cruise. I would definitely recommend this hotel. ;

Location off from the busy section of the city, but still accessible by taxi to the city centre.around 10mins taxi ride and half an hour from airport Though the quality of the hotel am not sure I could rate it five star, the staff were friendly, English limited understanding. But messed up our rooms on the first day of check in, and we weren’t able to get one of the rooms until after 5pm. Which slight set back. The rooms were a little tired and old, couldn’t even use the mini fridge as it was locked. Had to ring the concierge 3 times to get someone to come unlock it. The view is partial of the river, I would say regardless of rooms you choose, as there flats in front that blocking the view. The pool for you to use you need a swimming cap or you can’t enter. The steam room and jacuzzi was out of action on both ladies/men’s, imagine this has been the same case for a while. Would I choose stay there again, probably not due to the oldness of the hotel and some of the clientele It attract were bit unusual and very obnoxious. As oneness one started shouting at the front desk and customer, for supposedly waiting too long and holding up the queue

Having lived & worked in China for many years I am often frustrated at international hotels when trying to use the concierge service so my experience at the Kempinski Chongqing was a really pleasant surprise. The staff not only spoke excellent English but were extremely polite, efficient and very knowledgeable about the area. I definitely look forward to returning.

The hotel had a very good location close to the Metro station. Rooms are clean and the restaurants offer sufficient options to choose from. There is a brewery in the house so the beers are always freshly made. It’s roughly 20 minutes ride from the Airport. Would stay again if I come back to chongqing

This hotel is fantastic. Perfect mix between old school and modern design. Very clean and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever had the chance to lie in.

We stay 3 nights at Kempinski ChongQing. Staff at Reception counters very courteous but will be nice if concierge would do more to assist in getting taxi at lobby. Will be very nice if hotel can provide shuttles to nearby metro station. Room is nice and spacious but somehow have got a few mosquitoes in the room that we stay and stung us in toilet.

전반적으로 적극적으로 친절한 직원들....굿... 충칭지역 치고는 영어가 잘 통하는 편임 그렇지만 곳곳에 조금 씩 잔고장 나있는 것들이 수리 안되고 방치된 것들이 있음.. 룸서비스 음식 수준 괜찮음.. 조찬 괜찮음.. 그래도 룸에 비치된 와인잔은 가져가서 설겆이 해서 가져와야 되지 않나??-전반적인 청결에 대한 의문을 가지게 됨..

The room was spacious and clean, but the air conditioner was not working, so the room was incedibly hot throughout the night. The staff were friendly and helpful!

A wonderful hotel! Beautiful, spacious, well maintained with incredible facilities. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful they were amazing! They have an Olympic length lap pool, a very well equipped workout room, a separate room for yoga, a full spa, and the biggest breakfast buffet I have ever seen in any hotel. Not enough nice things to say.

Reception was very helpful with local restaurant recommendations. Lots of good eateries around. Close to light rail and ¥15 taxi to town center. The river front is a great place for evening sightseeing.

It was very nice to stay in Kempinski Hotel in CQ. One thing little bit uncomfatable is the location and neighborhood of the hotel. I should call taxi to get some places for dinining or meeting.

會住這裡的主要是去隔壁參加展覽 如果去觀光區會有一段距離，但是門口的DiDi很多. 早餐很 local,量多,可以在酒店直接加比較便宜，RMB 60/人.(原本是160～） 床很軟。 雖然離輕軌500米，但還是考慮一下上下坡的問題
