A way above average IBIS hotel and good value for money. Decent size bedroom with small clean bathroom. Kettle/tea/coffee provided. Comfortable large twin beds. Good aircon. Excellent wi-fi. Superb breakfast with large choice of Western and Asian items. Eggs cooked to order. Staff all very helpful and pleasant. Great location in city centre close to waterfront restaurants, the grand mosque and excellent Holland Bakery. Reception organised a taxi to airport for similar price to Grab. Can use swimming pool of adjacent Novotel although we didn't do this. Separate door and electricity cards so one can leave aircon on and leave the room for a short time. Would make this hotel my default place to stay if I return to Balikpapan

Door handle was temperamental and didn't always open the room when keycard gave green light. Also I don't like having to use the keycard to operate the lift to the room floor. A nuisance for a couple when you only have one keycard and you return at different times

The breakfast for 4 Euro was perfect

Very good for a budget hotel! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the AC was nice and cold. The bathroom was clean, comfortable, and cute, with a strong shower and hot water that worked perfectly. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a comfortable and affordable stay!

Le personnel est très sympathique et accueillant. La literie est bonne, l’hotel calme, très propre. L’accès à la piscine du Novotel est un vrai plus!

Pour le prix il serait super d’avoir le petit déjeuner inclus.

Location in the centre of town near shopping malls and restaurants. Friendly staff. Good quality mattress. Clear reception of tv channels.

No cheese available for breakfast. I asked for cheese. The waiter went to ask for it but after a few minutes came back to say that he didn't get cheese. Last year, I got cheese from a waiter. This year not. Hence, only sweet bread with jam, honey and chocolate. Certainly not suitable for western tourists. Bathroom is EXTREMELY small. Only suitable for one person.

A nice stay in the quiet town of Balikpapan, I always stay there as I work offshore. Clean room, breakfast buffet ok. On the down side, the room service is extremely slow. Very helpful staff at the Lobby, especially Cella and Rohan.

I had a very good stay. Great hotel for solo traveler, very good value in you book directly online. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants in the area as well as not too far from the main beach. Super comfy bed! Clean and tidy room, decent WiFi, warm water and very good air con. You can access swimming pool and gym at nearby Novotel. I loved the fact that for a little extra you can opt for a later check out. As my flight doesn't leave till 7pm, it was great to use the room until 3pm. Lovely staff! Big thank you to Nura, Kadek and Jere! Very kind and helpful 😊🙏 Terima kasih! Next time I fly to Balikpapan, I'll be back.

Our recent stay was highly satisfactory, featuring a clean and well-appointed room. The staff, including Aknova and Djandra, provided exceptional service, and we regret not having the name of the night shift receptionist to acknowledge their assistance. The breakfast offerings were excellent and enjoyed by our family. We would certainly consider returning for our next visit to Balikpapan.

I stay with a group of 47 from brunei. But i dont really like the place..lot of complains from my group..some of them see 'hantu'. They scare to stay again..bad place

I would like to comment that your staff Nora has serve us excellent service, she has done an extra mile for us, she is a keeper, you should promote her because of her excellent service towards us. We are very happy of her service. I stay there from 5th July until 9th July 2025, We will recommend this hotel to our family and friends.

Walking distance to Balikpapan Plaza. Comfortable and cosy hotel with self service water cooler on every floor. Almost same varieties of breakfast served daily. Shared swimming pool with Novotel Balikpapan which is just next building.

AC and water pressure is adequate. Bathroom have mold and dirty. Bedsheets have bloodstained. Overall with online apps discount it's an average transit hotel.

Breakfast was always very busy and staff wasn’t so fast in replacing things.

The lobby was clean and updated. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was nice, though on the last day the hot food was cold.

The room was okay, but i noticed mould in areas. The bathroom was old and small, hair dryer didn't work, no fan in bathroom, the tap in bathroom was noisy, water was temperamental. There was no refrigerator in the room. It was advertised there was a pool and gym. Neither at the premises. Had to use facilities at Novotel next door. False advertising! Very disappointed with Ibis.

Best experiences, nothing fail, good breakfast, good supper, very comfy, no complaint at all. Very recommended for staycation or just visit in Balikpapan. No smoking rules are very best in here and makes very comfy to stay all day long. I will back

Un petit-déjeuner différent à chaque jour et de la variété. Bon emplacement. Le personbel parle un peu l'anglais et les chambres sont propres. Toutefois, le gymnase et la salle de déshabillage sont sales et rien ne fonctionne! Vraiment sale en plus et pas de savon dans les contenants ou il y a les douches. La serviette qu'on m'a donne était très tachée. Il n'y avait pas de clé pour ouvrir les casiers et aucun personnel.

Stayed last week with couple of friend. It was unforgettable moment with the staff, they engaged us very well with full of attentiveness . The room very clean with sufficient amenities. The location was top notch. No wonder , we would not regret to stay again.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Ibis's Hottel. The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great decor and crisp bed sheets.F@B : The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of options! The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Nothing was too much . I would have Luxurious impression. Other than that, I can’t fault the place and will definitely go back. Thank you Ibis👍

They advertise a swimming pool but did not mention anywhere that the swimming pool is actually located in the next door Novotel and that you have to walk outside, enter the Novotel and go up there (all in your swimwear) to visit the pool.

the breakfast was really good, you have oats, donuts, fruits. the coffee could be better and you can use the pool that was nice.

the mattresses was horrible, i woke up with a lot of pain in my back. the room was dirty with hair everywhere and the bathroom was really dirty, disgusting.
