I stayed 2 nights and had good.sleep in the comfy bed. Breakfast both mornings was good. Great selection of Indonesian, western and Asian cuisine. Freshly cooked eggs to your liking. Sunday morning they have a musician playing traditional guitar, it was lovely to listen to while I enjoyed my coffee. Highly recommend

Location is great. My room was very comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast was lovely. Very comprehensive in its selection with Indonesian, Asian and western cuisines. Staff are very friendly and every Sunday morning they have a tradional musican perform which was very smoothing and lovely to listen too while having a coffee. Highly recommend

The Novotel Hotel is located within the city closer to a number of shopping malls. There are a lot of grab cars and bluebird taxis within reach should you need a ride. The streets are safe to walk around especially if you're a foreigner. The people are very friendly, courteous and some of the most respectful human beings on earth. It's a slow pace of life out here on Balikpapan, not like what you'd expect in the big cities. The food is rich and authentic in flavor and you can grab a whole vibe of Indonesian including Asian cuisines when you stay at Novotel. I tell you their buffets are like nothing I've ever come across, they're hearty and it's just so many to choose from. Rooms are clean and spacious, housekeeping do a great job daily to keep your rooms clean. There's no need to worry about your valuables if you don't lock them away, they'll still be left untouched when you get back. There's a deep rich culture and value of respect that's built into the heart and soul of every Indonesian/Balikpapan, hence you will not find any theft of misplaced items in your rooms. The staff are friendly and great to assist, always reach out to them. English is not their main language but they try their very best to communicate, use Google translate if common English words are difficult to understand. The hotel surrounding is quite serene and quiet all day. It's also a reflection of the deep rich cultures and the Balikpapan way of life. They're mostly very quiet and humbled folks yet some of the most kindest, respectful and courteous people on earth. From the potters and concierge staff to housekeeping and restaurant team, everyone works together in harmony to make your stay comfortable. You are treated with the utmost respect. When you're there and require any assistance, ask for Aknofa whose very well acquainted with English. You get value for your money when choose to stay at the Novotel

Közel a központhoz. Tiszta szoba, kedves személyzet, kiváló reggeli. Élmény volt minden reggel , reggelizni. Különösen Tjamera úr volt nagyon kedves és szolgálatkész. Köszönjük neki! A medence tiszta, igaz kevés a napozóágy.

Zeezicht vanuit kamer, op loopafstand van winkels, restaurants (pasar malam op pleintje in de straat), zee. Fijn bed. Speels ontwerp badkamer-en-suite met groot raam.

Onderhoud laat te wensen over! Slecht werkende airco. Zwembad liet men zo vies worden dat er groene/bruine troep in dreef en het meerdere dagen onbruikbaar was. Geen adequate reactie en oplossing vanuit personeel bij bovenstaande! Onbetrouwbare roomservice.

I had a great stay at Novotel Balikpapan. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well-located, making it convenient for both business and leisure trips. Special thanks to Dewi and Jeremia at the reception for their warm, friendly, and professional service. They made the check-in process smooth and were very helpful throughout my stay. We always return to novotel if looking for staycation with fully package . Novotel balikpapan its really suite for family vacation , they have beautiful pool with sea view and every room has bathtub even in lower type room. And the hotel surrounding with many kuliner balikpapan Reccomend to try. The things i think need to upgrade is for superior room not all given smart TV - some has i believe. Overall its such comfort stay of you choose novotel balikpapan.

The worst Novotel. It didn’t add up to the 4/5 star that it has. Very rundown hotel with the worst service to match. I stayed at their suite, but the water was not hot. Hot water was non existent, limited power socket for a suite room. A lot of furniture were very much like those hourly hotel. Then comes the service. A guy at the restaurant for breakfast was wrongly address me and when I inquiry about the welcome drink (promised by the front office the night before), he was so slow in responding. Another staff took over and specifically mentioned about watermelon, melon, and pineapple juice. I picked pineapple juice but it took very long time to produce. Then when I confronted her, she mentioned it as mango juice and very adamant about it but still the juice didn’t arrive. And there were no duty manager available. 4/5 star hotel should have 24/7 duty manager available. Apparently that’s not the case with this run down hotel

This is my first time staying at this hotel, I'm in Balikpapan for business. The location is super strategic, I really like it. Breakfast is complete, and the roomboy named Amal is very friendly, the room is clean and comfortable. Too bad the gym is under renovation, but it's okay, everything else is great 🌅

The cleanliness of the bedding and pillow cases didn't look like it hadn't been changed. Got bitten while sleeping on the face, below the eyes. The card payment system needs improving, declined payment five times at the hotel when there were funds in both accounts. Felt embarrassed.

Het is overduidelijk een zakenhotel waarbij het vertrouwen van de klant volledig verdwenen is. We moesten een deposit betalen, wat we dus niet gedaan hebben. Het hotel is aan renovatie toe.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The room is spacious and no issues in the room. The ac and wifi are working well. The breakfast and the food taste well and no issues. It is a great hotel in Balikpapan.

If you have to stay in Balikpapan, Please visit in Novotel. I've been staying at the Novotel Hotel for almost a year. There are many hotels in Balikpapan, but this one is the quietest, cleanest, and the staff are incredibly friendly. The hotel restaurant staff, in particular, always make me smile. Thank you, Kadek and Aknofa, for creating such wonderful Indonesian memories. I can't remember your names, but the drivers always pick us up safely and quickly, the lobby staff always smile and guide us, the restaurant staff always greet us with a smile, the cleaners always clean the room, the laundry staff always deliver our clothes on time, and the staff who always thank us when we return to our rooms after working out at the gym. We always feel grateful to you. Although this will be my last business trip to Indonesia, I will always remember your gratitude and kindness.

Stayed one night in room 411, checking at 1 am. It's a big room with twin beds inside. Breakfast time is another nice experience. The floor is equipped with carpet as we don't need praying met to pray. It is quite inside, we cannot listen to azan (or because I slept late) at subuh time. The hotel has a big ballroom, named Borneo. Many big meetings by Kaltim government are conducted here.

Lovely hotel, central to the city. Dewi, Iabal and Delita, at reception were amazing. Very helpful in navigating the city. The bar and restaurant team made me feel very welcome. I will stay here again.

I stayed at Novotel Balikpapan for a work trip and had a pleasant experience. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Vincent from the front office, who left a lasting impression. Despite being the only staff on duty that night and having three guests ahead of me, he remained calm, composed and very attentive. His professionalism and genuine hospitality made me feel well taken care of after a long journey. Initially, I was assigned to a smoking floor for the first two nights due to the hotel is fully booked but the team was able to arrange a room change by the third night which I truly appreciated. As a hotelier myself, it makes me proud to see a young professional like Vincent displaying such dedication and poise. He is certainly an asset to the hotel and I hope his efforts are recognized. I visited Balikpapan for business purpose, I stayed at Novotel for two weeks. The room is very convenient. The breakfast buffet has many variation dishes. I love the food, taste was delicious. The service in restaurant when I had breakfast was excellent especially from on of hotel’s staff names Tjandra, his service is excellent!

As usual, this is my repeated trip. Novotel balikpapan is one place which gives you comfort. Many option for breakfast and all good The staff as usual always friendly and helpfull.

The hotel was OK and it didn’t value of 4 star rating. The breakfast was plenty to choose from but blend no flavours. It would be nice if served in little portions but tasty. The staff seems unknowable and weren’t accommodating at all.

There was a young man named Aknofa who worked in the Squares restaurant and he spoke English quite well. He was very helpful and the service was excellent. All the staff were extremely friendly and made my stay so pleasant. Many thanks Aknofa and Novotel Balikpapan.

Back again to Balikpapan City after 15 years :-) Spent 4 nights at the Hotel Novotel Balikpapan, and everything was great. Service, Food, Facility and Staff are all amazing. I got a room with sea view and pool view also the room is clean and big space. Breakfast was tasty and many choices. All staff were friendly and very helpful. All the best for Novotel Balikpapan !

The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The hotel serves beer. The location is central with about 150m walk down to the main Road.

We arrived on the flight from Jakarta at about 10pm and there was only one receptionist checking guests in so we were left waiting for about 10 minutes until another staff member also started checking people in. The hotel should know and be prepared to receive guests from the flight and not make guests wait while other staff stood around.l until one finally decided to also check in guests.

Easy access to a small local mall with things you can get if stuck, market for food. the Hotel is great and the staff are super, always willing to help, even if sometime language is a issues for English they still try to make it happen. Ms CiCi in reception at check in always smiles and keep you updated on any points raised and generally a polite person and gives any feedback. The customer relations manager Eugenia is one of a million, so helpful and accommodating to fix everything, she cares for her team and shows positive leadership skills. the restaurant staff, housekeeping and concierge are smiling so much and never any problems with helping you out.

Rooms very out of date and need mordernisg. No drinking water in room. You have to fill jug in corridor from water dispenser..

The hotel location is very strategic and close to several entertainment facilities and locations, the quality of the food is quite good, however housekeeping needs to be improved, especially with regard to toiletries such as toothbrushes and towels. Another thing that requires attention is when there is maintenance that uses volatile materials and hazardous materials such as thinner so that the exhaust system is isolated at the location where repairs are being carried out

I gave the hotel 5 stars because of the additonal benefits they provide as a Platinum ALL member. The suite room was relatively huge. The fruit platter and cookies were simple but thoughtful. The complimentary breakfast was marvellous. I enjoyed the local dishes like kaldu ayam, tong seng and lontong. I also had avocado juice as the welcome drink. However I was disappointed that the room only has the local version of power points. I would expect 5 star hotels to have international power point adaptors installed in the rooms, at least one at the working desk. I went down to the reception to borrow an adaptor but the receptionist said they ran out of adaptors which means I wasn't the only local guest with no local charger or adaptor. I implore the hotel management to look into this matter seriously.

Friendly staff and easy to move around

Old facility. Room 631 is located at the “meeting” point of the central air conditioning water piping system causing a dripping sound non stop 24/7! Nothing much the engineering team can do about it.

Bathrooms outdated. Remove baths replace with showers. Breakfast is very ordinary, typical Indonesian Breakfast. Doesn't cater for expat tastes. Like good bread, proper butter, bacon, mushrooms....

It was worst stay in my Accor-member history. 1. Room is dirty - Old hotel, proper renovation is needed but most are not in rightful condition. It seems few of their rooms are not used for long time. I stayed through 2 continuous booking, when I assigned to my room on 2nd booking it has drainage issue. I immediately request for room change. Drainage has no issue but I found few ants on the bed table and toilet bowl flushing was very weak. 2. Service - On my check-in, they mentioned to check my welcome drink through ALL app. But I realized there is no banner for my welcome drink redemption. I asked back it is not shown so issue physical voucher. But they made me to wait for 20mins keep looking for managers asking A-Z.... In the end they issue the physical voucher and talking to each other there was internal notice to issue physical voucher which is totally opposite they mentioned in front of me. (But I understand Bahasa...) They didn't even offer me upgrade as Platinum benefit, but which I understand if there is no available room. But.... the hotel is not so crowded whole day, still quite suspicious whether they really have the room type. The Bar receptionist (one guy and one lady bartender) were not polite at all when they receive order for my welcome voucher. I strongly recomment Accor marketing team to review this hotel's management and rather take out Accor name from this hotel. Not proper to hold Accor's name.

For me and my fam, Novotel Balikpapan still shown their best hospitality in Balikpapan. We prefer to stay here than other hotel. Novo has spacious bedroom and various breakfast choice, also an awesome pool. Glad to be back to Novotel Balikpapan to spend the weekend with our loved ones.

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. If you meet someone with the name like Kadek, Dewi, Iwan, Eka or Jumsia on their badge, be sure that you will get the great service exceptional as well. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Balikpapan.
