The rooms were huge and clean. The balcony bath was phenomenal. Wish we'd booked 2 nights to really enjoy the area and hotel options more. The dinner and breakfast included were delicious. The bar with hot spring foot bath was great.

Para la limpieza te quieren cobrar extra charge. Desayuno tienes que elegir la hora y no nos dejaron elegir la primera mañana el occidental y tuvimos que desayunar el japones, el cual no nos gustó y tuvimos que salir fuera a desayunar. El staff ni de recepción hablan ingles lo cual dificulto mucho el comunicarse. Los días lluviosos no hay nada en Gora, no lo recomiendo.

No me parece bien que cobren la limpieza aparte. En la habitación había una bañera que no paraba en la noche y molestaba.

This is a lovely hotel run by friendly, kind, & helpful staff. We had a room with an attached bath & onsen. The room was quite large, very clean, & tastefully decorated. The ac worked great. Also, comes with all the toiletries you might need, coffee/tea, plenty of towels, comfortable beds, kimonos, pjs, slippers, jackets. We opted for the breakfast & dinner. Not fond of Japanese breakfast, but that’s personal taste. They do offer western breakfast some days. The dinners were so delicious! Usually 9 courses that I refer to as Japanese “tapas”. There is a charge if you want your room serviced, otherwise they leave a basket of fresh towels, toiletries, coffee/tea outside your door. Also, free drink at the bar & free drink & cookies in afternoon. The hotel was much nicer than I expected. Very close to the Gora station & cable car. WiFi wasn’t great in our room, but was quickly rectified by giving us a router.I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking to stay in the Gora area.

Would have preferred choice of Japanese or western breakfast for both days of our stay. Ended up getting egg toast from coffee shop across the street.

It was conveniently close to the train station and buses. Great location for the Hakone Tozan cable car. My room at the most beautiful view of the mountains and it was quiet and relaxing.

There was nothing I did not like about the property. It is set up for couples and I was a solo traveler. Maybe they could be aware of that as it did feel like I needed a plus one.

Didn’t like the room neither the hotel or the staff. Staff was not very friendly. rooms were noisy and facilities were not what u Expect in a five star hotel

המתקנים מעולים, האונסן בחדר, חדרים ענקיים, נקי, שקט, צוות מאד אדיב שעזר לי עם בעיה שהייתה לי בהזמנה ואף זיכה אותי למרות שזאת הייתה טעות שלי. בנוסף יש בר, אונסנים פרטיים לפי שעה עם נוף להרים להזמנה (רק רישום, זה בחינם) למי שאין בחדר, בנוסף אונסנים פתוחים, בנוסף סאונה על אבנים חמות כנ״ל אותו סגנון. רוב הצוות גם יודע אנגלית. יש בית קפה מול הכניסה למלון, ו150 מטר מתחנת רכבת גורה. מהחדר היה נוף אדיר להרים.

הזמנתי 2 ארוחות בוקר וערב הערב הייתה לא טובה, היא בסגנון 8 מנות, היא מתאימה לסגנון מאד ספציפי של אנשים- לדוגמא אורז עם מלא סרדינים קטנים כולל הראש וכל מיני סוגים של דברים מסורתיים יפנים, לא אוכל מערבי / יפני מודרני הקינוח היה טוב. הארוחת בוקר גם לא טובה - לא קשורה לבוקר - סלמון, אורז, ראמן עם בקר על הבוקר-זאת לא ארוחת בוקר לאכול ב8:45, זאת ארוחת צהריים. בנוסף הייתי שמח אם אפשר לבחור ארוחה בין שעות מסוימות ולא כמו פה שיש 2 אופציות - או 7:45 או 8:45 (בוקר) או 17:45 או 19:45 בערב בארוחת בוקר לא נגעתי בערב 6 מנות החזרתי אליהם. בנוסף הייתי בקומה 4, כל 10 דק יש רעש של שואב אבק, בלילה זה הפריע ממש עד שנרדמתי, זה היה בלתי נסבל. מקווה שזה היה חד פעמי.

Hotel is beautiful, lovely to have to foot bath bar offering a free drink and to be able to book the private onsen too. Our room had a balcony bath which was an added bonus. Overall staff were very helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. Brilliant location right by Gora station. Restaurants around close early though so be ready to eat early!

The staff were very helpful and understanding! The rooms were well serviced, clean and spacious. The star was the exceptional customer service. A short walk from Gora station meant quick access to transport for trips to Owakudani and Lake Ashi. Plenty of museums and points of interest in the vicinity. The use of the private onsen and bedrock bath were a great inclusion also!

The bedrock bath facilities were a little dirty and the outdoor areas needed a little repair work.

That we didn't stay longer.

This was the first time for us staying in a Ryokan and we absolutely loved it. Facilities were great, the public bath was great, and they even have a private room at the top floor that you can book in advance. The location of the Ryokan is very convenient as it is just a short walk from Gora eki. If you don't fancy the food in the Ryokan, a walk around the neighbourhood gives you access to lots of delicious food. The yukata provided were lovely, they even have it in kids sizes.

It's not a big deal, but the public bath is a little small and can be quite cramped if more people use it. Lucky for us, we were able to enjoy the onsen as intended.

Una persona tiene alergias a muchas cosas. Aunque avisamos al hotel, NO LES IMPORTÓ, no fueron flexibles en los más mínimo. Nos dijeron "no podemos hacer nada, vamos a servir todo lo que siempre servimos y se comen lo que puedan". Tuvimos que rogar para que nos dejaran llevar comida a la mes del hotel y después de mucho accedieron "y nos hicieron el favor" de calentarlo en su microondas. MUY MAL.

Breakfast was good but not much change over the three days and getting charged for black coffee at breakfast. No laundry facilities and none in the area.

J’ai beaucoup apprécié la taille de la chambre, son confort, la baignoire avec une eau bien chaude, ainsi que l’accueil très chaleureux du personnel. L’emplacement est également idéal, juste à proximité de la gare de Gora, ce qui permet d’accéder facilement aux principaux sites de Hakone.

La cena es espectacular. El lugar es muy cómodo y el personal está muy atento. Hay yukatas disponibles para andar por el hotel. Las habitaciones son bastante más amplias que lo habitual de Japón. El frigobar incluye agua y algunos dulces.

We stayed in a Japanese style room with open-air bath – nothing beats soaking with the view. Hotel breakfast was truly amazing and had great variety. You can book normal onsen and hot stone onsen for free. The hotel provides Japanese style clothing (yukata) to wear inside. Very comfortable futon beds. Conveniently located right next to the Gora station. If you miss dinner there are nice izakayas and a kombini nearby.

Futon beds is literally the only new thing in the room. TV was ancient, kettle was leaking. The were no sockets available in the room to charge devices. Bathroom was decrepit with broken sockets, yellowish toilet seat and a rather tired shower. One unpleasant thing that stood out especially was the refusal of the hotel staff to help us ordering a taxi on the departure day – thankfully international taxi hailing apps work in Japan.

The room and private onsen were incredible! Breakfast and dinner were some of the best meals we had in all of Japan, and I'd stay here again just for the food and location. Front desk staff extremely accommodating and helpful. Our only regret is not staying longer, but I fear our stomachs may have exploded from all the food haha.

Meals were beyond expectation and very luxurious. Excellent in all ways and the staff were excellent as well.

I loved pretty much everything about it. The staff was great and we loved our room and the view along with the hot spring bath. We especially loved the foot bath at the bar with the daily free drink. That was a very nice surprise. I would come back to this hotel.

The beds weren’t bad, but they were not the comfiest. We also thought there were quite a few stains on the floor. Overall it was still an awesome room though. The wifi wasn’t working well but I realize that may be an issue because of your location.

Stanza in stile giapponese bellissima, Cena e colazione ricchissime con grande varietà di piatti tradizionali preparati con grande cura. Onsen pubblico grande, c'è anche una bella vasca all'aperto. À 1 minuto a piedi dalla stazione di Gora.

Tutto molto bello ma un po' caro, considerato che il paese di Gora non è propriamente Manhattan.

The hotel is spacious with views from the rooms, the facilities both within the room and additional facilities were good and easy to book through reception. The access to yakuta's/kimonos was an added bonus and you really can take in Japanese culture at this hotel.

We arrived later in the day due to exploring Hakone, we were not informed about the dinner timings and therefore when we arrived we were rushed to dinner. This was not ideal as we wanted to freshen up and dress up with traditional clothing for dinner. Secondly, we were also rushed to breakfast and checkout in the morning, more flexibility on timings or advanced notice for guests would help.

The onsen on our deck was heavenly. Each one in our group loved their rooms and their unique onsen, as well as the onsen at the lobby bar. Chairs in our sitting area were plentiful and comfortable. Our group of 10 included to under the age of two... all enjoyed the futon, the onsen, the yukata, and the neighborhood.

Wifi was nearly non-existent. As I am leading a tour group, this is important. Afternoon "Tea Time/Happy Hour" was uncomfortable (lacking in chairs). Family-friendly snacks would have been thoughtful. In our room, we would have preferred more privacy around the (glassed-in) shower. When staff bring amenities each day, PLEASE bring drinks INSIDE to the refrigerator (deliveries to rooms of our group members were left outside the door on a very warm day).

Kaiseki was not for us. The private onsen didn’t even provide towels. It was basically just a bathtub you got into—the only special thing about it was that the water was hot. They even charged extra for the drinks at the bar and the snacks next to them.

The staffs are friendly and tried to help even they’re not able to speak English well. We enjoyed our stay however had got the feeling to strictly commanded time table which did not allow us to be flexible.

We think the cost for the menus are over charged. The hotel is rather old and outdated and would need some refurbished.

Hotel renovation. Had to walk all the way inside the outside again then carry luggage on stairs and there’s no lift. No bellboy or staff helped. The switches in the room were spoilt. Sink in bedroom. Onsen for female cannot open door out to the outdoor one.

Everything was very nice. From the room to the Japanese breakfast and the truly delicious dinner. The staff, both at the reception and in the restaurant, were very friendly and helpful, even though they didn't speak much English, but their genuineness is appreciated. I tried both the public and private onsen without any problems with crowding.

We only stayed at this hotel for one night, and one of the main reasons we booked it was for the private onsen experience. However, during check-in, we were informed that all private onsens were already fully booked. Unfortunately, this was not clearly communicated in advance. If booking a private onsen is important to you, you will probably need to stay for more than one night and secure a reservation early. Considering the price, the overall experience did not fully meet our expectations. While the hotel itself is good, it felt quite expensive for what it offers.
