The location

I checked in around 4.15pm and went straight to my room for a quick lay down before catching up with friends for the night and I noticed the washing machine going, didn’t think anything of it, fell asleep on the couch only to be woken up 30 minutes later to one of the cleaning staff unlocking my door and walking straight in, didn’t even knock, saying he wanted his personal washing out of the machine, I told him to get the hell out, once he left I gathered my thoughts and was heading down to reception only to find another worker trying to put a key in my door to get the washing, once again without knocking, now that my trust had totally disappeared and I no longer felt safe staying there I had to find other accommodation at late notice costing me a small fortune

Location was perfect in the centre of Queenstown. Was lower end priced accommodation for Queenstown so you basically get what you pay for. I get the impression that the rooms are individually owned and furnished so it's luck of the draw as we stayed with them a couple of years ago and the room was really nice.

The whole interior of the unit (furniture, carpet, paint, bathroom etc) is dated, tired and needs a total reno.

When I arrived, outside door light cover was broken. Not big deal though. Cover was stayed on the floor for 5 days 😆 again, it wasn’t a big problem.

It's fine, it's not super cheap but nothing in Queenstown is.

There is an area to the right of the reception where an old shopping trolley is and some old brooms are dumped - this is your welcome. Mold in bathrooms, paint peeling in bathroom. Gardens uncared for. Cheap outdoor furniture chained to the ground. Advertised as lake view - my view was a block wall - room 205. Felt like staying in the ghetto.

Absolutely nothing!

This property was exceptionally filthy, unsafe with exposed electrical work, no fire safety plan, removed smoke detectors. The property had not been cleaned with dirty hand marks on doors, dust thick on air vents and surfaces, oven thick with grime and not to mention the cutlery drawer that had floating visible dirt and dust, as well as visible food scraps. How anyone would think that this is safe to stay in, is beyond me. The staff were rude, not responding to emails or phone calls. Not available for conversations.

Great location, unit was spacious and had everything we needed. Will definitely stay here again!

Car parking was a little confusing, but nothing too bad.

The location was perfect. Very central and could walk everywhere we wanted to be. The bed was comfortable and the heating worked very well.

The bathroom had mould. The dryer was very old and needs updating.

Tired and outdated

I braced myself after reading a number of negative reviews but we thought our room was great and very comfortable. The bed was comfy, the couch was comfy, the kitchen had the necessities, the bathroom was clean with good water pressure. We loved the location, parking was easy. We were quite pleased with the place.

Room was very tired, bathroom had peeling paint and mouldy grouting. There is onsite parking, but it is an additional $20 per 24 hours. I'm not sure that was mentioned on the booking.com site.

Our studio apartment looked nothing like the photos. The place was very old, dirty and stains on the couches.

Brilliant location, super central to everything along with the ski bus pick up, if you’re staying in the winter period. The room was spacious, tidy and equipped with everything you need! The staff were super friendly and helpful!

The vac truck that comes to pick up excess waste from the Indian restaurant across the road starts up at 6:00am in the morning and is extremely loud when staying in the front rooms. My water was also cut off mid shower. We had no notification of this.

Cloth Dryer was broken and there was no note left to notify. We washed the clothes and when we went to dry them in Dryer found out that it’s broken. We had to keep and pack the wet clothes. Tried reaching out to staff at night called them many times and checked on reception found no one there.

The location was excellent.

The floor in the living area had not been vacuumed, the toilet had not been cleaned and it had a smell. The entry to the accommodation had old mattresses stacked up, not a good first impression.

The apartment was dated and smelt of Indian food despite trying to air it out.

Location is great, our 2 bedroom apartment was good, one room was good, second room was small with a bunk, it would have been nice to have at least two singles and bunk was unstable.

Second room bunk bed was very unstable. Otherwise everything else was fine.

I called about the TV not working, got told will sort it out tomorrow was only staying one night, so no TV, door didn't lock,

Receptionist is friendly and approachable. Hotel is located in the main busy street so restaurants & bar are just few steps away. Walking distance from skyline gondola.

Facilities are disappointing, it needs an upgrade. There are busted lights, broken wall lamp, rice cooker is disgusting ( I request to have it replaced but someone just scrub the black stains on the heating element). 3 of the dining chairs are wobbly, No chopping board, we just borrow from our friend who also stays on the same hotel, there’s no exhaust fan so you need to open the window while you cook. You can’t take a bath properly because there’s just a drop of water coming out from the shower, no hair dryer available. The floors are creaking while you walk. There’s no free parking, you need to pay $20 per day.

Great location and tidy rooms

The gas bottles were empty and so a little cold in the living area as we couldn’t light the fire. A little bit of wear and tear things needing fixed like the wobbly tap in kitchen sink, the toilet kept running so the tap was turned off and you had to turn it on and then off again so you could flush the toilet.

Location was wonderful

Unclean, bathroom was mouldy, paint peeling off walls. Kitchen had grease hanging around door frame. Carpet was stained. Loungeroom ceiling was patched where a leak had occurred. There was 5 of us staying. When they changed the towels they would only give 3 each day.

Closeness to centre.

The location of this apartment is absolutely fantastic and was the highlight of our stay. It was convenient, with beautiful surroundings, and the cleaning staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, the apartment itself was a major disappointment. It is very old, tired, and in desperate need of updating. The oven was broken and couldn't be used, the clothes dryer was also broken, and there wasn't even a frying pan in the kitchen, so we had to cook bacon and eggs in a saucepan. The apartment was also very poorly equipped. For a two-bedroom apartment that accommodates four people, there were less than the bare minimum of kitchen utensils, cookware, cutlery, and other essential items. It made preparing meals unnecessarily difficult. The kitchen was one of the main reasons we booked this apartment, as we travel with our child who has multiple serious food allergies and requires home-cooked meals. Having a broken oven and an inadequately equipped kitchen caused significant stress and inconvenience throughout our stay. To make matters worse, we were overcharged by $253 after our stay. It has been an exhausting process trying to obtain a refund, and communication with management has been extremely poor. The manager was never on-site when assistance was needed and was virtually impossible to contact by phone. Thankfully, Booking.com has now stepped in to help resolve the issue. The location and the wonderful cleaning staff are the only positives we can mention. Unfortunately, the poor maintenance, lack of basic amenities, inadequate kitchen equipment, absent management, and billing issues completely overshadowed those positives. We would not stay here again and cannot recommend this property.

Spacious and comfortable and convenient to Hagley park and Christchurch city centre. We’re so pleased that we booked in for the last days of our holiday as well and looking forward to returning to this lovely place

Easy walk to shops, restaurants, bars and waterfront areas. My elderly mother came with us on the family holiday so she was able to explore the town at her own pace without having to walk up and down slopes or catch taxi's anywhere.

The location was awsome , nearby the shops and very easy access to lakeside.

NIGHTMARE! the accommodation was VERY DIFFERENT from their posted photos. It was uninhabitable,the bed sheets were dusty and smeeled mouldy, the blankets smelled of somebody else’s body odour,the couch was heavily stained and we got insect bites after sitting for just 20mins! the manager wasn’t helpful saying that he WOULD NOT help me as I used a third party for booking and that their hotel was fully booked and yet there were 3 rooms that has a terrace that were wide opened showing its vacancy. we checked in at 3 from a cancelled flight and due to activities we left our things and got back late in the afternoon and got changed for another event but since we felt UNSAFE and big bitten terribly we left the property at 10:40pm.

Very central property .

Location is awesome. Shower, the water was hot, but pressure is low. Toilet looks new. Best breakfast was at Bespoke and the dinner at Jervious was one of the best meals I've had in NZ in a long time, including the service.

Room 101 is right on the street and gets noisy from about 5am with rubbish trucks and tour buses. The gap under the front door means the rain and cold come in, suggest putting a towel across it. the airconditioning takes around 24 hours to warm the room, so the second night things will be comfortable, but there were three thin blankets you can put on the bed the first night to stay warm. Its been a long time since I have slept on a matress that you can feel every spring. the stains on the couches are remarkable.

The location was nice and central. Good Kitchen and clean bathroom. Great to have towels dropped in everyday.

The unit had not been vacumed and there was some one elses hair all over the carpets, the couches and carpets are long overdue a clean and the arms have that greasy feel. Kitchen floor was filthy between the fridge and the kitchen units, Lights in the bedroom were broken as was the main dinng room light. Furniture in dining room was old and mis matched. Dirty marks on bedroom walls. Toaster buckled and bent. We booke here because we thought it looked like the phot above . Room 106 was anything but this . Tired and worn and sad. We booked and aprtment that looked totally different on booking.com. Happy to supply the owners with photos.

The photos on the website for what we booked were nothing like the accomodation we arrived at. Even the welcome message on the tv wasn’t the room we had booked so that was a let down. The couches were stained and the whole room was very rough and run down. The heater on the wall didn’t go but there was a heat pump. More like a student flat in Otago. The extra blankets we removed for warmth from the closet had stains on them and there were socks from the previous people under the bed. They came to service the room and knocked on the door when we were still in bed we said in a loud voice that we were good and they still proceeded to walk in my husband had to jump up to stop them entering room as our bed was at the entrance. The 2nd morning they came to service the room before 940am so again a bit early to do so considering we didn’t have to be out till 10.

Great spot. Easily within walking distance to a plethora of cafes, restaurants, bars, pubs and every kind of eatery you can think of. Short walk up the hill to the gondola. Bottle shop across the road with a chemist and 24/7 grocer within 100m. It was kept clean with regular top up of fresh towels every day. The apartments maintained heat very well. We had to turn the heaters off a lot from being too warm even on low. Plenty of space in the rooms with a full kitchen.

Walls were a bit thin. If you're not an easy sleeper then the general noise of both vehicle and foot traffic may keep you awake until late. Car park is small and cramped with no shelter but still beneficial if you have a car. The shower didnt drain well, we had to run at half pressure to avoid it from overflowing. Not a huge issue but a minor annoyance.

Master ensuite toilet wouldn’t stop running. Master ensuite door handle was loose. Ran out of gas for gas fire place. Only enough plates and bowls for five people when we booked for six. Kitchen sink faucet super loose. Whole place needs a deep clean.

Was a bit concerned after reading other reviews but were most impressed on arrival with our room, the location and the staff and the way theyadjusted our accomodations due to a booking era. Best value for money in Queenstown for a small group.

The sliding doors won’t lock. Some of the blankets are not clean. The faucet in the bathroom is two separate (hot and cold), and it’s really hassle specially when washing face. The shower is not even nice.
