Friendly staff.
No parking available. Room very small and stairs.
The bed was very comfortable and the en suite was very nice, it looked like it had recently decorated.
The room was right opposite a working building which i had to have the curtains closed all the time for privacy. The room was also next to a road which meant it was quite noisy. I arrived at about 1.30pm and was told straight out that 3pm was check in time. He didn't check to see if the room was available or not just a straight 3pm only answer. I also felt that at 3pm when i asked to go to my room that it was too much trouble for the staff to take me. I also think that the price of £129 was way too much for what was offered.
The location was perfect and the staff were extremely hepful and friendly.
My stay was very comfortable. There was nothing that I didn't like.
Nothing
Only way out of building before 12.00 was done a stone fire escape. Not made aware of this prior to booking. No good for a person that uses a walking stick!!!
The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive and genuinely interested in making our stay worthwhile. They came to our rescue without the slightest trace of a midnight grudge when we managed to make a bit of a mess of the key-based check-in, and throughout our stay they were approachable, helpful and keen to hear what we thought. The room was beautifully furnished, very clean and clearly prepared with care. Everything about the stay felt naturally generous, without being ostentatious: from the furnishings to the wonderful selection of teas and coffees provided for breakfast. It was somewhat more expensive than some of our other accommodations, but we did not regret it for a moment! Above all, there was a real sense of genuine hospitality throughout, and we felt very well looked after. We would therefore be very happy to recommend the Red Lion.
Room
Don't do a hot breakfast for residents.
Friendly staff comfortable bed and amazingly powerful shower
Helpful staff, centrally located, good food and drink and a lovely room

Would have loved a meal there but the kitchen was closed for refurbishment but we were not advised until check it.
Old tatty dated musty room. The kitchen was also closed so not what is advertised on Booking.com
Good central location Nice breakfast touches and drinks facilities in room
Room was very hot Could do with some redecorating
No volveria a alojarme allí.
Location was great, right in the heart of Bakewell. Staff were very friendly. Convenient check-out process (key drop-box and exit through the fire escape as the pub was closed - this was a bit quirky and wouldn't suit anyone with any mobility issues)
No breakfast option other than some porridge pots and biscuits in the room (although we did find a few spots around the town to have breakfast). Fine if you're only here for one or two nights but if you're staying longer it could get expensive!! Having to use the back fire escape to get back in in the evening as the pub closed around 10pm. The road was very noisy from very early in the morning, however this isn't a failing of the property and the age of the pub I guess meant no double glazing)
Food was good staff e
The food in the pub was great. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff were fantastic.
Perfect location comfy bed nice pub
Nothing
Clean and classy finish, homely vibe with very, welcoming staff. Great location, for nearby amenities and riverside walks
Nothing
The food in the pub was excellent. The bed was comfortable and the shower in the en suite was very powerful
There was no on site parking and we were told the safest place was a pay and display carpark some 5 minutes away
Room was clean, porridge pots, cereal bars and orange juice provided in rooms also hot chocolate sachets along with tea and coffee, a fan was provided as weather very hot, red lion in a central location, staff friendly
No WiFi in room, no blinds or shade on window so had to have big curtains shut to preserve privacy, no parking nearby, walls very thin, people in room next door very noisy so very poor sleep had
De locatie is fantastisch. Vriendelijk personeel.
Comfortable room and spacious bathroom. Fan thoughtfully provided as it was 30 deg
Road noise as had windows open on very hot day. No onsite parking. No cooked breakfast option. Menu didnt feel to reflect summer season
Bathroom bed and bed dressings lovely they provided a big fan as we had a heatwave very welcome
Carpet was slightly scruffy in the room The staircase leading to rooms could be more inviting with a simple change of some bright patterned wallpaper which would cost too much
Nice location , easy access, cold breakfast was unexpected but appreciated, The wife loved the bed especially the pillows ❤️
Easier parking
We loved our time here! We were exploring the Peak District, and Bakewell was an excellent jumping off point. The town itself has everything hikers could need, and walking around and exploring is so delightful. The pub is at the very center of town, right across from the bus stops. Access to our room before/after pub hours was easy, and the room was comfortable, clean, and cute. There was plenty of room for two people, and the bed was super comfortable. We especially appreciated having shampoo in the shower!
Everything was great, no complaints.
Position and price
Nothing. It was baking hot but they provided a fan.
The staff were friendly and helpful. It was located centrally so easy to get to.
The fan provided did not work well enough. The corridors were scruffy and dirty as was the entrance we had to use. It was no where near worth the amount we paid.
In the centre. Near to everything Nice staff
The dirty bedside shelves covered in thick dust . Tv would not work properly brightness fault . Booking .com stated check out by 11 am and I was told by the staff there that it was 10 am
comfortable bed, bedding felt very clean and fresh, good shower good complimentary extras,
not great view communal areas needing refresh
Location is good, good food & drink
Heavy doors to open
Great location but disappointed that food wasn’t available. Some staff were lovely, others not so much.
Quite dated but it is an older property
Definitely recommend! The room was clean and nice, the Red Lion is located very comfortably opposite the bus station, the staff was lovely and accommodating.
Good location
Only on street parking with restricted hours Do cooked breakfast, just snacks in the room
The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom
I think for the price breakfast should be included, we know there are several places within a short distance but very expensive in our opinion for a breakfast
Its location
The food was expensive and no nice at all The shower trap in the bathroom was disgusting and full of hair Dark hair all over the bathroom floor
Very noisy with traffic in the early hours of the morning
The little touches, like the chocolate sweets, and a few breakfast bits (not that I like them) but it’s the thought that counts.
Location was good. Staff were friendly.
No breakfast option. The pub closed at 10pm, so we had to enter via the back fire escape (which we were told when we arrived). Also had to drop our key & leave via the same way.
Location is why we picked it
Price bit much for quality not the hotel fault but extremely noisy.
In the centre of the town
No hot water in the room. Bathroom was tiny!
Vrij nieuw opgeknapte kamer
Ruimte en klein bed
disappointed they did not have any hot water during my one night stay
Well located, close to car park.
The stairs to access the rooms were a bit steep
Location, nice pub.
No parking on site but couldn’t be helped, decor in room could be updated but bathroom very nice. No breakfast available in pub.
Great location in sense its right in the centre and the pub is lovely
Very noisy, was woken up around 05:30 from deliveries
Location very good. Warm even without heating on. On suite bathroom fine with sufficient complimentary toiletries & towels. Bed comfortable enough.
Out of date 'complimentary' breakfast cereal bar. Wonky toilet seat. Loud, possibly central heating, noises in the night that may have caused me to awake at 3:45 both nights! Thin walls as very clear snoring emanating from next room. Accessed the room almost every time via the rear fire escape as the pub was seemingly unstaffed outside of their usual pub opening hours. No access to any breakfast on site unless they felt a cereal bar or a pot of instant porridge was their idea of breakfast. With 6 scatter cushions in a room but only one chair, this seemed excessive.
Bed comforts. Cleanliness. Easy access. Nice refurbished room and bath.
Nothing.
The room is bright, clean and spacious Has all the necessary things and is very comfortable
The room service was not available. Room didn't get tidy up even when we requested.
Clean rooms
Facilities only open during pub opening times 12.00-10.00 had to use fire escape entrance at other times.no breakfast of any type
Good location, clean & comfortable room. Well stocked tea, coffee etc. they don’t serve breakfast but left porridge, breakfast bars & apple juice which was much appreciated. Great value.
No parking
Good food, great location, nice comfy bed
The radiator in the bathroom had a small leak, and the exit was very icy in need of some salt.
Traditional pub perfect location stuff was so friendly and welcoming nothing was too much trouble. Our room was amazing The bathroom was stunning. You would think you were in a five star Hotel the tea and coffee tray. I’ve never seen anything like it loads of coffee plenty of teabags, milk sweeteners, sugar, even cordial sachets to add to your water. 4 biscuits plenty of toiletries we didn’t wanna leave definitely will be coming back!!!!!!!!
Bin men at 5am
Room 4. Really clean and well presented room. Comfortable bed. The hospitality tray was very well stocked on the first day. Central location. Separate entrance if you don't want to go through the pub. Guy behind the bar was extremely helpful and polite. Made us feel very welcome. Pub food at night was excellent. Good menu choices and prompt service. Good value for money.
Excellent new bathroom, but the shower does not drain quickly enough for the power of the shower, so I had to keep turning it on and off to let the water drain properly. There is not much storage space for clothing, just a hanging rack, and 2 small drawers. Parking is a little way from the pub. Did not serve breakfast, and the hospitality tray was not restocked on the second day.
Central location
Very thin walls so can hear people talking in room next door
Renovated room & bathroom. Very clean. Very comfortable bed Great location A great selection of tea, coffees etc and even the added bonus of some breakfast bits
Room a bit too warm. A bit noisy.
Lovely room, smelled nice and the early check-in always a bonus
Can't think of owt tbh.
Very cosy room above a pub in the centre of town with lots options to eat within yards. Great for a one night stopover. Cheap parking avaliable just round the corner if you have a car
Just be warned no breakfast is served but there are plenty of places in the town.
Very comfy bed and warm room. Nice friendly staff. Good location in centre of town. Nice touch with breakfast supplies left and plenty of biscuits etc.
Parking suggestion on email directed us to a car park that didn't allow overnight parking. Could hear quite a bit of noise from the road, so would suggest you bring ear plugs.
Location was great
For the price - very unkempt, bathroom was in desperate need of TLC! If you sleep in the front of building, you can hear all the noise of traffic due to poor windows. Staff was not very helpful on arrival
地理位置好
酒店太老化了,隔音太差

I like old style pubs and this was old style the food was lovely and good valve for money .Staff was lovely and helpful when needed will stop again
Nothing
Welcoming and comfortable
Rooms were nice and plenty of coffee/tee biscuits etc in the room. Room was clean
Would have been nice to wake up and have a cooked breakfast the next morning
Beautiful pub, staff were great and very helpful .
Handy location in Peak District, close to Chatsworth House.
The location is perfect if you dont drive ,right in the town and the bus stop is just across the road.
It’s central location, pleasant atmosphere and comfortable rooms.
Nothing I didn’t like
Such a cosy room. The bed was so comfortable, the shower was a little small but had amazing pressure that more than made up for it and the amenities provided were exceptional. The pub below was also a great place to grab dinner. I didn't want to leave. Truly a perfect place to stay for a night before a trip to Chatsworth house!
The shower
No breakfast
How warm the rooms was
No breakfast
It was convenient and the staff were very friendly and helpful the whole time.
The shower didn’t drain away well so we couldn’t use it properly and when the toilets in the next room was used it was noisy.
I was pleased with the breakfast. The location was ideal and the bed was very comfortable.
The shower cubicle was small
Great price and value.
Lovely traditional pub
Excellent location. The room and facilities were great. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Great price and food in the pub was excellent too.
Nothing
The staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough.
Whilst there was plenty of things that were good, the decor was in need of improvement. I liked the amount of treats such as biscuits, orange juice, porridge pots, breakfast bars etc. there were marks on the wall and a cracked sink. The room could be lovely as it had original beams and windows but dated anyglipta wallpaper and the bathroom needed replacing.
Location. Well prepared room.
Noisy neighbours (other guests).
Comfortable with tea coffee biscuits etc
The location is brilliant, right in the centre of town, opposite the bus stops, surrounded by shops and cafes but not noisy inside. The food in the pub downstairs is excellent, we ate there both nights of our stay. It was very busy 6-8pm and last orders for food was 7.30pm so I would suggest booking a table. We were there in November and were surprised how many tourists were around. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast tray was loaded with goodies.
The room was a little shabby, it could do with being redecorated.
Fantastic value for money and great location. The breakfast tray was a welcomed surprise. Woukd definitely stay here again and have recommended it to friends
Bar staff were friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for our trip too.
Shower was below par. The plug hole needs unblocking asap. We had to stop showering to allow the water to drain before continuing, otherwise it’d pour over and flood the bathroom.
The location was wonderful, right next to the original Bakewell shop and right in the middle of town. The room was so comfy, especially the bed, one of the best I have ever stayed in. The staff that I did interact with were all really kind and accommodating. A great stay overall.
There were only two downsides; since the pub didn't open until mid day you could not drop your bags off before you check in, and leaving the room is weird outside of open hours. Also there was hair all around the room, they did provide teas and stuff but there was a hair in the kettle so those weren't used.
Bed and bedding was excellent, great selection of drinks/on tray with porridge pots for breakfast. Shower was also excellent very powerful.
Nothing really, bathroom door could have been painted to modernise it if I was going to be picky, but overall a fantastic stay that exceeded expectations.
