Staff helpful. Room fine for price but awkward access via stairs.
No parking at hotel and an uphill walk of 10/15minutes from outdoor carpark. Not really a suitable walk with bags for older customers.
Well stayed here for 3 nights and what a lovely stay it was . From the moment we walked in the staff greeted us was friendly chatty explained everything to us regarding the stay the fire exits and where to go in case of a fire. The room was lovely and the bed was super comfortable . The breakfast was amazing and cater for every need and they was everything you could want in a breakfast.we had evening meals they and at a bargain 2 for £20 deals food was amazing. I cannot fault this place it made our stay outstanding . But the biggest thing I would say about the old post office is that the staff owners make you feel welcomed

Comfiest bed ever! Really nice set up of room Good facilities
The location and the staff
Cleanliness was very poor in the private toilet and bathroom!
As we were there mid week, it was lovely and quiet. The location is good , central but set back from busy streets ..
Just minor observations: The shower was turned off , and there were no instructions as to how to turn it on. We could/should have been offered help with our bags , as our room was furthest away along and up lots of stairs , ( but we are older than we look. :-) ) The emergency lighting is over the bed , with a bright glowing green led light . It should be nearer a door or window , but I understand the challenges of an old building .
Breakfast was good with nice portions. My room was ok but the hot water took a long time to come through for the shower and not at all for the sink. However, it’s location in the centre of the town made it easy to get around.
The hot water or rather the lack of.
In great location, breakfast was value for the money, staff was very polote

The position
The toilets not en-suite, you have to go down the corridor to reach your private dated bathroom.
Location was great, the staff were so lovely and the breakfast was very tasty too!! I can’t wait to stay again

Det lå virkelig centralt i byen
At bad og toilet lå på gangen, dog var det vores eget, men der skulle låses og låses op hver gang.
Very clean, excellent breakfast.
It needed a lick of paint here and there. Although the bed was comfortable, the pillows weren't. TV signal really bad, so not worth having in the room. All this being said, it is really good for the price.
Friendly staff who made you welcome excellent breakfast great service at the bar with the prices reasonable. The room had a good size and comfortable bed with plenty of room would return to this excellent hotel.
Only minor complaint was the sink did not work in the bathroom but there was an excellent shower.
Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean, spacious and offered everything we needed.
Localisation idéale
The Old Post Office is situated in a fantastic location within the town centre, which meant that we were close to local amenities. The stairs to access the room weren’t as bad as we imagined, neither was the noise from the pub - we couldn’t hear a thing! The room itself was clean and modern (it looked as though it had been refurbished as differed greatly from the photos we saw when booking). It contained everything that we needed for our stay. Our bathroom was across the corridor, which we thought worked well! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was included, but we also had our evening meal here. We made use of the 2 for £20 deal, and paid just under £25 altogether for two meals and two (soft) drinks - fantastic value, especially with the large portion sizes. We’d recommend The Old Post Office to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Shrewsbury!
Great location, staff were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was fabulous, freshly cooked and served. Room was clean and comfortable, with great tea and coffee making facilities.
The en-suite facilities in one of the two rooms left a lot to be desired (the other room was fine). Water was just a trickle from both basin taps, the toilet didn’t always flush fully and the shower was small and not great. Also be aware that they stop serving food before 8pm.
Good facilities and staff. Excellent location.
Room was not cleaned despite putting the key in the drop box. Under the hottest weather, the room did get very warm.
A lovely building in a great location. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. The staff were brilliant too.
There were a lot of steps to get to the room which was fine for us, but might be a problem for people with mobility issues.
The room was hot because it was high up in the building but was safe to sleep in with the window open and the fan provided. I was pleased with the toiletries provided. Access was easy but secure. Full English breakfast was tasty and well cooked.l
The only drawback was that I had to exit my room and turn a small corner just beyond my room to access my private bathroom.
Super Lage, nettes Pub mit leckerem Essen, geräumiges sehr sauberes Zimmer
leider keine Klimaanlage im Zimmer, war bei 34°C Tagestemperaturen, schon sehr warm in der Nacht
Shrewsbury is a lovely town and this accommodation is a simple no nonsense kind of place. Located in rhe Old Post Office pub, a short 12 min walk from the train station.
The room was awfully hot due to the hot spell and a single operable window and fan did nothing to move air to cool the room down. Not a dislike that faults the accommodation - no one has been prepared for the freakish heat.
Freundlicher Empfang & Bedienung.

Great value central location, very clean great breakfast
All good
Great location. Very quiet. Excellent breakfast
Having a toilet down the hall
The location was lovely. I arrived late in the afternoon on a particularly hot day and the staff went beyond to get a fan for me to be comfortable. In the morning, the breakfast staff accommodated everyones needs, took time to chat and the food was lovey
Nothing, it was grand!
Could not fault it lovely breakfast and lovely lady who made and served it.
I have no faults good price and value staff very nice will definately stay again.
Very friendly staff, great location and great breakfast.
Clean room, excellent location, friendly staff
Bathroom was separate
Right in the middle of town, great spot
Very professional welcome, enjoyed atmosphere of this old coaching hostelry.
Good location, nice place
Nothing
Lovely friendly staff, clean room, very comfy bed (slept well) and it's very central. What more do you need.
Had to keep the fan on all night but we are in the middle of a heatwave to be fair!
Very comfortable room. Great breakfast
Friendly staff Excellent bfast served by very friendly lady poached eggs on toast with marmalade served to perfection V central
Price of parking in Shrewsbury a joke It would be great if parking charges started at 9 or 10 Instead of the faff of having to get up at 8 and move cars Councils problem I watched other couples dashing bfast at 8am to beat the 9am 1hr free finish point or beginning of the 9am charge point shame really Down stairs public areas could do with a bit of a restyle but it's a v old building and prices are v reasonable So good compromise
Great place, lots going on
Nothing
Amazing location, clean, great staff, fantastic value
Lage, Frühstück und wechselndes einheimisches Publikum.
Breakfast was very good, with a good selection. The location was excellent The room was okay bed comfy, ! would reccommend room 2 as it is at the back a very quiet The Sunday Roast was very good
Having stayed here before knew what to expect. Did not disappoint even to the fact experienced the resident ghost!!!
Location is excellent. Lots of character. Nice breakfast. Very clear and tidy. Highly recommend
Nothing at all
Staff very helpful, especially the chef, who placed food we had brought for my wife's special dietary needs in his fridge. The fan in the bedroom was much appreciated
No parking, but nothing that can be done about that because of the location
Great location
A little tired but great for an overnight stay
Excellent.

Great location, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was comfortable and quiet (Monday night)
Ideal location,excellent breakfast,stayed many times.great place
Nothing everything fine
Great friendly staff. Excellent customer service. Ideal location. Quiet off road courtyard.
Good size room. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Nice food in the pub. This is basic accommodation but that is reflected in the price.
Some chairs to sit on in the room.
Excellent location,friebdly welcoming staff.Nice breakfast
No aircon in room so extrdme heat made sleeping impossible.Taps in bathroom faulty Bathroom floor in poor order.
All excellent
There was a noise from other rooms which we thought was when people were having a shower. Water pressure not very good.
Excellent location right in the heart of Shrewsbury. Friendly staff. Good choice of breakfasts. Decent value for money.
Tiolet and shower was private but not ensuite. Room and bathroom were a bit outdated and a bit tatty in places.
The service was wonderful and the location was perfect. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was plenty of food. We loved this place. It was exactly what you expect an old pub inn to be.
This is a rustic ramshackle property so its features will never match those a modern sterile hotel room, thank goodness. We travelled to Shrewsbury to enjoy its historic buildings, so this accommodation was quite fitting. Staff members were helpful and efficient. Nice breakfast served.
The lack of parking on site was a nuisance, but then what can one expect in a medieval city with narrow higgledy-piggledy streets.
The staff where really good and helpful however the bed was extremely uncomfortable you could feel all the spring in the mattress and the pillows were flat Also when another guest used a bathroom it loudly vibrated in our room
A decent mattress and pillows
Hotel is very much in the old part of town. It is a very old building-, a former coaching house, now a pub downstairs and some rooms upstairs. Breakfast was good for the price. Easy walk from the station. We liked the old-world feel of the place but it may not suit all tastes. Also great that we were able to leave our bags securely locked away when we arrived too early to check in. Thanks!
Warning: The building is definitely quirky- clearly builders a few hundred years ago did not anticipate ensuites or huge suitcases! But if you want to stay in a heritage building, then you will need to get used to the difficulties associated with retro-fitting a building to meet 21st Century tastes! 2nd Warning- the location is traffic free at the weekend- I liked this but if lugging a huge suitcase you may not! 3rd Warning- not sure how the place would be in very hot weather!
Lovely
All goo
Had a very good vibe.
Great central location and excellent value for money
Everything.
Nothing.
Ouder gebouw, veel gangetjes. Kamer was netjes gemoderniseerd. Prima ontbijt waarbij je bestelling op mocht geven bij vriendelijke dame
Een lekkere stoel in de kamer was fijn geweest
Full English Breakfast among other choices , central Shrewsbury location near transport links, clean and spacious room. Staff were exceptionally helpful, helping with my bags and answering all my queries clearly. They did their best to ensure that my stay was comfortable. An absolute bargain for the price paid. I would not hesitate to stay again at the Old Post Office in Shrewsbury.
There was nothing that I didn't like.
Breakfast was excellent . Bathroom was spacious as was room .
Loudness of Karaoke music , and could do with a shelf in bathroom for bathroom for our travelling items and glasses in the bathroom or room for water and soft drinks
Our room was on the quiet side of the building, so no disturbance from karaoke night! Plenty of room to move. Good breakfast.
Bathroom private, but across the hallway. Could have supplied a couple of wine glasses. Difficult stairways and landings. Although the listing said pay at venue, our card was charged by Booking.com a few days before arrival, and the venue insisted we pay them on arrival before they would refunded the Booking charge. Embarrassing! I blame Booking.com!
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast included was lovely and fresh. Location was brilliant. Back bedroom very clean and quiet
The stairs up to the room
Great pub and location for very good and good value
Dated bathroom room but clean and tidy and good towels and bits and bobs
We liked the location very central in the town. The breakfast was good with a decent coffee. The staff at the old post office were pleasant and helpful. The value for money was very goo
The stairs to the room were quite steep and the water pressure could be a bit stronger
Historischer Altbau Fotos erzählen die Geschichte des Hauses Ursprünglicher Bau wurde erhalten
Breakfast was standard, cereals and English breakfast. Not much to sing about, standard fare but it was ok. The room was really nice and a bit quirky in a British way and very cosy, under the eaves. Everythi g worked ok but for the cold tap in the bathroom. I think if you are not familiar with how British hotel rooms can be you might think it a bit scruffy but I was pleased. It was clean, got tea and milk and a working kettle and tv. Bathroom could do with an upgrade, now very basic w a shower curtain and taps that were a bit erratic in using. It was quiet, you would not think you were in the middle of a city. A bit of noise from the music in the pub but that went quiet in time for bed. Staff was nice and helpful with the suitcases. This hotel is not suitable for someone with trouble walking stairs. There were several of them in order to get to my room. Ok for me but not I think for someone with bad knees. I can absolutely think of staying there again next time I visit Shrewsbury.
The cold water tap in the bathroom stopped working but I told the guy in the pub and they would see to it. Staff was very helpful!
It was clean , staff were friendly and the breakfast was good
The bathroom needs updating, and it's across the hallway
Clean and friendly
Nothing
Perfect location and great value for money
Breakfast was average but that reflects in the price
Great Staff and location
Thought breakfast was a little disappointing
