Hotel Blue Cove by On vacation

Do not let the pictures fool you. Do not stay here. Arrived to find the place crawling with hundreds of people throughout the property. Arrived early before check-in hoping to drop luggage. Told not possible By staff that, in a hotel that gets international visitors, spoke no English. Walked through property to have a look and found the place dirty, the breakfast buffet area was filthy, tables were not clean, food dropped all over the place. Nothing looked appetizing. Was able to get a cup of coffee and it was cold. I returned at 3:45pm for 4pm check and was made to wait until 4:20 in a line of everyone checking in at same time. They ONLY OFFER WIFI the lobby, NOT YOUR ROOM. This means everyone trying to use the same signal slows it down making it USELESS. The pool was overcrowded and extremely noisy, There will be no relaxing here as music is blaring over people yelling in the pool. Grounds are unkept with trash everywhere, room areas are full of broken construction debris. The place was total chaos. At $100USD per night it’s absolutely the worst property I have ever stayed anywhere in the world. AVOID IT. Management was useless in terms of rectifying my request for a refund and I was told to call Expedia to fight for my money back. Manager provided a website to file for a refund but no way to do so as there was NO WIFI. Place is a scam. Go elsewhere.

La ubicación

Mala comida

NO LES RECOMIENDO QUEDARSE AQUÍ The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were extremely humid. I have traveled to many countries and destinations in Colombia and have never encountered an experience like this. We waited two hours for our buffet dinner, which we had already paid for with the all-inclusive package, and other guests were waiting just as long. They didn't have our reservation, so they moved us to less expensive rooms. The locks didn't work, they didn't provide towels, there was no electricity in the rooms, and they didn't give us TV or air conditioning remotes. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE.

Dear Friend, If you ever have the misfortune as we did to end up in this hotel (blue cove San Andres Island Colombia) brace yourself for the most dreadful experience you had ever had in your life. Let me just bullet point the horrors associated with this place. • We saw dead rats floating in the hotel’s pool • The food awful, it had so much marine not purified salt I had to spit the soup back on to the cup the taste was unbearable. • Leaks on the ceiling and uneven surfaces on the corridors made the rain water rush in to your room through windows and floors. • No internet or wfi. TV set on the wall damaged, no phones available to call the reception desk, no night tables or lamps just and awful set of yellow lights on the ceiling. • Very thin dry walls without isolation, we were able to hear people in the next room having sex and making these terrible sounds and cries for help, you only hear when a woman is being raped. We thought of calling the police, but there were no phones. • Staff could not care less; it seemed as though this was a regular occurrence. • Straight dogs hanging around the restaurant, waiting for someone to feed them. I am an animal lover this broke my heart into pieces. Of all the ugliness of this place this was the one thing that really did it for me. We packed up and left that night for another hotel on the island even though we had paid for 5 days convinced that it was a good deal by the false pretenses of the “ON VACATION” advertisement. • This is the photo an employees for the second hour trying to fix the TV set, and the other mopping the floor after the rushing water damaged our luggage and clothes. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THESE “ON VACATION” THIEVES. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Staff very helpful and patient

Not well maintained, rooms are sad and ours had a really strong smell of bleach, horrible. The staff tries, but still they don’t care that much. The facilities are nothing like the pictures, it’s old and not well kept. They gave us a second room, without a TV and NO WATER!

Great place but lacked a bit here and there. Overall not bad for the price.

No hot water in the shower, but they have a heated pool. The pool is the only good thing about this hotel. The rooms had flimsy doors that barely locked. They turn off the water every night. No WiFi. TV costs extra. And very far from all the good beaches. Stay away

nothing, There is a bad service, the bed was broken, the games zone is in bad state, the pool looks really unclean. the market is very very expensive, don’t have first aid

service, rooms, pool, location, market

The room we were given was horrible. It looked like an attic. It had leaks and what is advertised on the website is a beautiful room which we did not receive. The room we were given was on the far side of the hotel and we had to walk a great distance to gain access to the restaurant and entrance of hotel. There are some nice looking rooms in the front of the hotel but I felt I was cheated out of a good room simply because the hotel decided to built cheap lodging towards the back end of the hotel to accomodate more guests. Everythhing is far from the hotel. No beach and the cab rides to the center are costly. We were given the same towels for our duration of our stay and no trash cans in the bathrooms. The door didnt lock properly either. What is show on the ads is not what we received. I felt cheated out completely out of my money. The open bar is a joke. Weak beer and cocktails with syrup tasting flavors. This place should be shut down.

Service room was not ready Staff unfriendly Location far away from beaches Rain

Not what I expected.

The hotel was very far away from de beach and the installations weren’t very good, the food wasn’t good, the pool was ugly and some rooms doesn’t have ventilation and windows and you can’t manage the air-conditioner like you want because you don’t have the remote control.

Services offered in expedia are not delivered in site (no wifi in bedroom nor in most of the hotel). Food was really bad and there is no real place for outside sitting, facilities are old and poorly maintained. Pictures are also from when the hotel was new, now they are struggling after hurrincane, but its really bad.

Great place!

This hotel it’s good, the service is very good the workers are very friendly and helpful in all moments, the food are regular because the snacks are very bad, the are rooms are very good but no all the rooms, the last one tower have room very very bad, but is a good hotel, and this hotel have a very good prices.

Everything good room food pool very nice the only thing was the bath room smer so dab

Lots of activities to do and prices were reasonable

Most of the hotel rooms in bad condition Food was bad.service in the vip area for the food was cold poor variaty they reapt everyday same food bad service bad attitude they would run out of food in the vip area, the normal buffet area was fuller with big line up but the food was warm. They changed my room and send me to the last building and the last room having to take the stairs 4 floors up didn’t consider correct since I’m pregnant with 31 weeks. My husband tried the licor and it was really bad we think it is fake licor since it’s so common in Colombia for people to sell and make fake licor which is a hazard for human health. The slide was broken jacuzzi too lazy river doesn’t function

Rather far away from everything No WiFi, only a slow signal in the lobby but you have to ask them to make you a unique username and password to get it. Horrible service from the staff at reception, most at the buffet, the drinks area and from the sea front life guard. You have to try very hard to get attention from reception staff especially if you have more than one query - just not happy to help. Pool and sea services didn't open till later than 11 although advertised as 10am. Room was worse: static TV screen without remote, freezing Aircon you have to ask them to change, no cupboards or night desks, 1 broken dirty wardrobe for 4 of us, 2 of the lights didn't work, toilet flushes too weakly, dirty unsafe stairs, dirty linens and towels, only one towel for 2 days for 4 of us. Food wasn't great - same things every day and most of us got sick from it. Probably some other things I forgot, but I would not recommend it at all seeing as it is advertised as a luxury all-inclusive on despegar and is more expensive than others in the centre/with a beach.

The good was delicious, that alone deserves 5 stars. We got to eat in the restaurant on the second floor of the lobby and the staff there was phenomenal. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the rest of the staff. This places needs better administration because it has sooo much potential.

Workers are vere nice but the rooms are so bad.. dirty and old .. beds are not good and bathroom smelly. Food is bad and the checkin -check out time is not good. Furnitures are old and falling apart... only value I saw was the people. Building is not bad but deterioration is great ...

CONCLUSION: No se deje tumbar!

We check out the day after of check in because no water no hot water the service was horrible still waiting on the refound. We did the claim At the hotel and they say that they was going to send the money back but until now nothing also nothing at the room just the TV, the AC that didn't work and the bed

The location of the room well away, almost in the jungle, to top on the third floor. We stayed two days without towels in the room. There are no phones and you have to go to the counter to be able to complain. We requested change of room and the excuse was that it had to be in the morning and when I go in the morning they tell me that they do not have rooms available because they had two hotels of them closed for remodeling. Then I fell down some stairs at the Hotel On Vacation Tower and I injured my left foot and my right leg and asked for another room change because I could not go up the stairs and they refused. Everyday the food was completely cold.

No volvería a hospedarme aquí

We left after one night from this horrible hotel with its disgusting staff and paid for another hotel, el sol caribe, just so we could enjoy our holiday, which we did! Stay away from blue cove!!!

No regreso.

The staff was unfriendly, the hotel wasn't beach front like advertised it was however on the deep end and the food was not good and flys would land on it so we enjoyed the facilities and just ate out...I don't recommend it if the all inclusive feature is what your going for...

The Staff was not helpful, the room was dirty, our towels never got changed, we received 1 bottle of shampoo after staying there 4 nights, The Food wasnt good at all and we decided to leave the Hotel early because it was just too far from everything and Dirty and our experience there was being very unppleasant . Even though we complained the Hotel didnt do anything to make it up and we lost money because we had alreay payed 9 nights there. I would never go back.

Shoking experience & very poorly customer service. Dinner place dirty, food display with minimum rate in health and safety. We never saw the dessert. Coffe not available at all, drinks not available as promised. Small bar with only 1 person attending, long queues. Sink broken in the room, lights not working. The maintenance person promised to come back to fix everything and we are still waiting. Absolutely traumatic holidays

Had a bad experience with the hotel transportation to and from the center. The all included services is not what I expected. Poor food with not variety and almost no snacks between meals.

Without words and comments!!!!! The hotel was a complete disaster. Service was poor and bad.

what a terrible experience we had. We arrived at 10:30 A.M. to find out that check in was at 3:00 P.M. and not the normal 1:00 P.M..wow...we did not get our room past 6:00 P.M. The same day we try to get them to reset the combination lock box but that didn't happen until the following day in the afternoon . From day one our refrigerator didn't work..and it was not replaced until the third day after i went to the front desk screming in total frustration. The day we arrived we had no towels. and they were hard to get . After three days i asked for some fresh ones (you had to ask....and get upset about it in order to get this basic item). Forget about pool or beach towels, they just do not exist in this "ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT".. Pretty much nothing ever went right at this place and food was nothing to brag about with roaches taking a pick here and there. The way this place is run was shown the day the national team was playing Argentina.. it was an afternoon game and they had it set up at the lobby for the guests to watch it .. Im guessing there were about 75 to 100 people at the lobby drinking and waching the game..No even one person was assigned to this area for housekeeping...?.the place was filty and it still was at around 8:30 A.M. the next day when we came down for breakfast..I have been in San Andres many times and I love this Island and when i first arrived and saw all the new beautiful construction in this hotel i though i had made a great choice.BOY I WAS WRONG!!

Poor service. No hot water in the shower. The sink was broken. Empty minibar. Bad food. San Andres is in general expensive, but the service here were exeptional poor. The staff where not friendly, they charged me twice; the promised me to meet the manager everyday, but all the promises where broken. I ran into the manager by luck. She gave me my mony back. Sill, one should expect more paying this much.
