The Grand Hotel Myeongdong

The staff were welcoming and very helpful, the room was compact, clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. It was very quiet despite being so central. The hotel had a laundry in the basement which was useful. The location was perfect, close to the metro and the street market plus lots of shops and restaurants.

We have absolutely no complaints.

離地鐵超級近，交通非常便利。但又不會距離明洞夜市太近，周邊不會很嘈雜。下樓就有很多餐廳可以選擇吃飯，非常的方便~

Staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel was clean.

I can't emphasise the location. It's right in the central of myeongdong main street with plenty of street food. I love how convenient it was. A few things to consider is you can't get uber at the entrance of the hotel, you have to go at the back of the hotel, on the main street. But that is ok because heaps of taxis are available there.

The room size and bed size. They allowed us to book the room with my wife and I plus 2 kids under 3. Quite frankly it was too small for all of us and the two single beds were not sufficient for our family of course. I thought it would be king sized single beds but they weren't. Also we requested additional 2 towels (they only offered two) and they made a big deal how they don't usually offer additional towels. If you allow 4 people in a room, you need to be able to provide each person a towel for hygienic reasons?

The location is very convenient for City walk. The room is very clean, especially the bathroom. And the staff is super nice!

It's just the air conditioning is above the bed, which I will have to turn off during sleep. However, it is excellent overall!

服务人员特别热情，每天送2瓶矿泉水，附近吃饭，逛街都很方便，对面明洞饭店，几乎涵盖所有首尔美食，营业到深夜，交通特别便利，离4号线9号口和10号口特别近，步行5分钟左右可到达！

床真的太小了…比一般雙人床小一點，也不是獨立筒，身邊人翻身非常明顯晃動 而且房間空間也小，對於一家四口所需要的活動實在不足😓

お部屋は、清潔で広々としていて快適でした。 明洞駅から近く、タクシーもすぐ呼べるところでした。目の前にマッサージ、アカスリなどの店も多く、夜に施術してメイクが落ちてもすぐホテルに戻れました。 部屋のドアにチェーンがついており、安心できました。 電圧切替機を常設してくれていて、日本から持った行ったヘアドライヤーも使えました。

トイレにトイレットペーパーを流せなかったこと。 お風呂の設計上、仕方ないのですが、シャワーの時に水が台の上をつたって、トイレの奥の床側がビショビショになりました。

立地がとてもよかった

The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and well located in the heart of the shopping district, with easy access to different parts of the city. The room was modern, bright, and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, everything met expectations and made for a smooth and pleasant stay.

There was a bit of noise at times, likely due to the central location, but it was not a major issue. Being in such a busy area, this was understandable. Overall, nothing significant took away from the experience.

Everything is accessible. The location is quiet. But a few walk in the middle of myeongdong shopping.

The location

Light switches can only be controlled near the bed and not at the door or table ,hence a bit of inconvenience. Air conditioner will turn off and come back on in intervals.

Location is best. It is in Myeongdong area but not in the middle of evening market which can be noisy. It is small. Only 4-5 rooms per floor. Small and slow lift. No view from our room window (802). The metro station is near by. Airport limousine stop was really close by.

There is only one washing machine and one dryer. Maybe because it is just a small hotel. It could be kept a bit cleaner.

Expressing my sincere appreciation to Jung at the reception counter. He was extremely helpful and went the extra mile by connecting us with the airport staff regarding our luggage issue. In addition, his excellent command of English made communication smooth and effortless throughout our interactions. He has played a significant part in making our stay at The Grand Hotel (Myeongdong) a wonderful and pleasant experience.

The hotel could consider partnering with a nearby cafe or restaurant that serves breakfast and other meals. During our stay, we found that many nearby dining establishments only opened around 11:00 a.m., which made it challenging to find breakfast options in the morning. Such a collaboration would greatly enhance the convenience and overall experience for guests, especially those who prefer to have an early meal before starting their day. have been better

立地が良く買い物しやすい。明洞駅へも近いのでスーツケースを持っていても移動が快適で、部屋はクローゼットが広くウォークインタイプだった。変圧器も備え付けられていて荷物が減らせる。

特になし。強いて言えば、駐車場が無いので車で来るには不便かもしれない。

立地良いです。お水のペットボトル有り難く、チェックアウト後トランクを預かっていただき助かりました。

La gentillesse du personnel, l'emplacement de l'hôtel. Le 6 mai matin, mon fils avait perdu son sac dans le bus je tenais a souligner la rapidité et remercier encore le personnel du front desk de nous avoir aidé. Grâce a cette personne, nous avons pu le retrouver rapidement ! Merci infiniment !

Excellent location, comfortable beds, very quiet for a good night’s sleep. Staff very helpful with information. I will recommend 100% staying here in an area buzzing with restaurants and shops.

明洞中心地で交通の便も良く、とても素晴らしい宿泊施設です。 ホテルの方々も愛想良く、日本語も通じて色々教えて頂きました。次回も泊まりたいホテルです。

アクセスが良い！ 中心に近いのに割と静か ホテル内は清潔で、ロビーにあるトイレも綺麗！

使用済みのトイレットペーパーを流せない為、置いてあるゴミ箱をもう少し大きくして欲しい ベッドの周りにもう少しコンセント充実しているとありがたい

Location was the best, but still felt quiet. Shops and restaurants were all within walking distance. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Staff were kind and helpful.

Room felt a little small even for a deluxe room (did not look like the photos, but was acceptable). It would have been nice to have more laundry amenities. There was only 1 washer and 1 dryer that was usually in use.

Hotel staff was really friendly and communicated well in English. Very helpful and efficient when I encountered problems in the room. Love the location and easy to get to by Airport Limosine Bus.

Hôtel ravissant parfaitement situé, à deux pas du métro dans le quartier animé de Myeongdong, tout en restant très calme. Le personnel, que ce soit à l’accueil comme au ménage, est extrêmement professionnel, efficace et attentionné. Tout était parfait, je recommande sans hésitation !

We stayed at this hotel 9 years ago and loved it so much that we decided to return. Unfortunately, this visit was a letdown in many ways. The hotel was renovated (as compared to our last stay) and the new design theme is extremely dark. Much of the décor is black, making the entire place feel dim—including the hallways and even the elevator. Our room was exceptionally small and cramped, with a double bed that felt noticeably smaller than a queen. The overall layout and design were disappointing. Lighting was another issue. The coffee/tea area, which is built into the room’s fixtures, had very poor lighting, making it inconvenient to use. In the bathroom, the standing shower had a ledge that ran across to the sink area. Water flowed along this ledge, soaking any items placed there. This felt like a clear design flaw. The only real positive was the hotel’s excellent location, which remains very convenient. Overall, we were very disappointed with this stay. For the price we paid, we expected much better. Sadly, we would not return to this hotel again.

The location right next to the main stores in Myeongdong and the night market are hard to beat for this price.

The location of this hotel is very good. All the staff are very nice. This hotel is centrally located in Seoul and the Myeongdong Street Food is just around the corner. This is also very close to the train station, just 3-5 mins away. I would book this hotel again if I go back to Seoul in the future.

Staff is very friendly and helpful, location is great, really near Myeongdong station and final stop of Limousine bus from both airports Incheon and Gimpo.

Very convenient location. Received a free upgrade to deluxe room. Friendly and helpful staff, allowed us to keep luggage in lobby before checkin and after checkout. Hotel also had luggage weight scale.

Not much to comment for dislikes, except bathroom lock was broken.
