The location at the airport as it was just a quick, covered walk from the terminal and car rental. The room was clean and reception staff were helpful.

I couldn't turn the shower on so tried to phone reception but the phone wasn't working. I had to get dressed to go down to reception and a member of staff managed with difficulty to get the shower to work. The waitress at breakfast wasn't around and when she turned up she was quite miserable. I had a flight to catch so all the delays were particularly annoying given the high cost of the hotel. I thought the hotel might offer some compensation for the problems with the shower and phone but nothing - not even a breakfast voucher.

Easy walking distance across air bridge to airport. Funky, well designed rooms. Great shower.

Checking in took longer than expected. Staff were available but weren’t really interested in checking us in.

Location was ideal for travellers arriving by plane annd picking up a hire car. The room had everything you needed and the shower was good. Restaurant food was tasty. Staff were very friendly. The gym/pool was a welcome feature.

The hotel is attached to the airport through a walkway. Great location if you have an early morning flight. rooms are very large beds are comfortable.

The doors to the rooms are very heavy, which is a good thing, typically. Unfortunately, these make a lot of noise when you’re coming and going , if people are trying to sleep, it definitely would wake you up. In addition we had trouble with our showerhead and maintenance fixed the problem. We could not turn off the water nor change the temperature of the water.

Breakfast was supposed to start at 6:30am but nobody even showed up until 6:45 and then they were rude when I asked why the delay. Also out telly didn’t work but they did reduce the price of the room because of it.

We liked the location right beside the airport when we needed to access the airport. It was not so good when WestJet cancelled our flight and we were stuck there for 3 nights! The room was clean and adequate. The restaurant on site was fine.

It is an airport hotel so of course it is beside the airport - but if you want to get into Halifax it is around CAD 70 each way. We found the reception staff unhelpful but the staff at the restaurant and housekeeping staff were great. The room was fine but on the small side for 3 adults with 2 weeks of luggage.

Sehr praktische Lage wenn man mit einem Nachtflug ankommt und am nächsten Morgen den Mietwagen abholen will, um weiterzufahren. Die Zimmer sind sehr ruhig, hübsch und modern. Wir hatten ein sehr großes Zimmer mit zwei Queensize-Betten. Auch das Bad war angenehm geräumig.

Das Personal am Empfang hat sowohl nachts beim Check-In als auch morgens beim Check-Out sehr unmotiviert und genervt gewirkt. Kein Willkommen, keine Infos zum Frühstück, wo liegt das Zimmer, wann ist checkout, WLAN-Passwort… Passte so garnicht zum restlichen Eindruck vom Hotel.

Schon zum zweiten Mal und wieder sehr zufrieden. Nach langem Flug ideal für eine ruhige Nacht, obwohl direkt am Flughafen gelegen (direkte Verbindung zu Fuss, ca. 50m). Perfekt wenn du am nächsten Tag früh mit dem Mietauto auf Kanada-Trip gehst. Für eine kurzes Essen am Abend nach der Ankunft schönes Restaurant zu moderaten Preisen. Gerne wieder, auch wenn die Preise für die Übernachtung stark nach Saison variieren - aber wo ist das mittlerweile nicht so.

Auch nach der zweiten Übernachtung gibt es in der Kategorie keinen Eintrag.

Very convenient. We were flying out of Halifax early in the morning so spent the night at this hotel. Very small area to park while you are checking in…nevertheless we found a spot, checked in and took our bags to our room. We then went to return our rental car….blocks away! So convenient! Hotel restaurant is just meh. Had a pizza. Room configuration is crazy. But for one night who cares. covered walkway over to the terminal from the hotel.

This is a terrific location for easy connection with a flight. It is a short easy walk to the airport. I’ve stayed at “airport hotels” before that still require a car or shuttle to the airport. No need here. It is very attractive and right next to the parking deck.

Very over priced and so was the restaurant. Very isolated from Halifax.

Next to the terminal excellent location for a night after a late flight or before an early flight. Restaurant at property is okay perfect when not having a lot of time in the evening Rooms are big and comfortable beds we liked the espresso coffee machine so we could make a coffee early in the morning before we left for our flight.

I had No issues while I was there.

The hotel was great. Room was so unusual and modern than what we are used to. The room made great use of space. The see through shower was funny. The room’s only downside was some mould in the shower. Staff were kind. Hotel was clean. So convenient to catch a flight. Would definitely stay again.

It was nice and modern but missing some of the amenities to make it feel special. The location as well is so far out and challenging to get food delivered around there.

Only one of our beds was made on the second day when they came to fix the room. We had 2 queen beds but they stopped at one and it wasn’t cleaned up as well as the previous hotels we stayed at

Returned to the ALT on our way through Halifax (after a poor visit last year). I am happy to say that this stay was completely different. First - we came back specifically because the hotel reached out after the negative experience last year, and made it right. We decided to give it another go based on that effort, and I'm so glad we did. We were nervous squeezing four of us (and all of our luggage for two weeks) into a 2 queen room - but we had lots of space. The room was designed thoughtfully, with lots of corners and places to tuck suitcases under/into. Everything was clean - so clean. The room temperature was well controlled. We had a great view of the airport (the kids loved watching planes take off/land). The blackout drapes worked amazingly, and there was magic in the soundproofing - we hardly heard anyone else in the hallway (and not much noise outside either). Sosta (the pizzeria downstairs) was absolutely delicious - we loved the donair pizza in particular. And the staff were friendly and efficient. All in all - so glad we came back, and likely will return.

Unfortunately, the location and cleanliness are the only redeeming qualities. For what the rooms are, the price is crazy. Good food can't be found at night. Worst of all: When we checked in, we inquired about the free parking and were assured that we could stay parked for the duration of our trip, for free, as long as we presented the slip upon our return. When we did, we were told that – because we used points through a third party – free parking does not apply, and that we would have to pay (significantly more than the cost of the already overpriced room). Their own misinformation cost us greatly. There are FAR nicer hotels nearby with shuttles and other convenient transportation to and from the airport, for MUCH less money.

Great one night stay for an early flight, clean, modern and great restaurant on site.

Stayed overnight to catch an early morning flight. Perfect for east airport access via a pedway. Although small, the room was well appointed with comfortable seating, fridge and nespresso machine. Priced on the high side for what you get but of course, you pay for the convenience. Restaurant and lounge downstairs had good food and decent pricing.

I’ve never been at a nicer airport hotel! Modern, clean, friendly, convenient. Cool airport views too! The linens were so soft, the bed was heavenly. The food was good as well. It rises far above an average airport hotel and is a place you may want to choose regardless of its airport location. I would stay again without hesitation and would check out other ALT hotels based on my positive experience. A shout out to the staff also for going out of their way to make our honeymoon special with some much appreciated surprises. We were thankful for the treats before returning home.

This was a great choice for a pre-flight stopover... friendly, smiling welcome, comfortable rooms and so practical for a quick walk direct to the terminal. Nice bar area and great pizzas to grab some food.... would definitely use the Alt again!

The shower was too difficult to turn on. The handle was impossible to turn. The door to the room needed to be forced to open using your shoulder. Basic maintenance is necessary

I arrived about 11 pm. As I am 82, and had been travelling all day, I had difficulty finding signage for the Alt. Once I did, I was assigned a room on an upper floor…may be 3. Obviously it was very dark. I was not told that I had to use my key card to turn on the lights in the room. Back down I went to the darkened check in area across from a bar. I was told to slide card next to light switch. Simple enough but how was I to know when everything was dark all around me. Including my room which had a black ceiling. I saw a phone and wanted to place a call to the desk….phone was not connected at all. I could not wait to get out of that place. It felt creepy.

The proximity to the airport was incredibly convenient when our already late arrival flight was delayed!

I did like the fact that the hotel was a few minute walk from the airport which when you need to get up at 4 am is a plus. I found that the bed was comfortable, a bit soft for me and that the food and drink was only a quick step away

I paid a fair amount of money and was surprised on smallness of the room, I had to hunt around to locate the coffee machine and mini fridge and had to play guess which button to shut off certain lights.

I LOVE that it’s in the actual airport.

This was my second stay at Alt Hotel Halifax, and it confirmed why I chose to return. If you're flying through Halifax, it's hard to imagine a more convenient location. Connected directly to the airport, you can walk from the hotel to the terminal in less than two minutes, making early departures and late arrivals completely stress-free. The hotel has a contemporary, boutique feel with a bold, modern design. The dark décor may not appeal to everyone, but I found it stylish and distinctive. The rooms aren't particularly large, and the queen bed was a little smaller than I would have preferred, but everything was impeccably clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. Despite being located at the airport, the room was remarkably quiet, ensuring an excellent night's sleep. The spacious bathroom, strong shower, and warm pool were especially appreciated after a day of travelling. What truly distinguishes this hotel is its outstanding service. During my first stay, I casually mentioned that I enjoyed watching aircraft from the room. When I returned a year later, the staff had remembered and assigned me a room overlooking the airfield. That level of attention to detail speaks volumes about their commitment to guest experience. Alt Hotel Halifax is more expensive than a typical airport hotel, but the combination of unmatched convenience, exceptional service, and consistently high standards makes it worth every penny. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone travelling through Halifax.

Very convenient for travelers in transit. Super comfortable beds. Air conditioning is efficient. Interesting room design, the black out shades are very much appreciated. Delicious in-room coffee.

A little run down for the price. Some missing light bulb in room, missing paint/scratches in furniture and walls, dust- small details but could elevate the experience if seen to.

Fantastic location for travel to airport - dedicated walk way. Exceptionally clean - great bar and restaurant - all the staff were super helpful !

Extreme convenience to airport. I'm looking for a good place to sleep and food and this checked all the boxes. We had drinks at the bar and food in the evening to dine on. If you travel alot, like us this place is very convenient to the airport. We are touring Atlantic Canada Region and enjoyed our rest here.

Amazingly comfortable beds, easy, fast andfriendly check-in, easy to find and the perfect location after a long travel. Loved watching the planes land and take off from the room window.

The room was clean, the shower was great, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The location was ideal. We returned our rental car the night before, and in the morning we walked across the pedestrian "bridge" to the terminal. Simple and fast. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, and both were very good.

The "lounge" chair in the room was weird. It was ultra modern and didn't fit in the space very well. There was only space to open up one suitcase on a shelf. We had to keep the other one on the floor.

The Hotel is conveniently linked to the Airport. Staff are generally friendly. My room was quiet and comfortable, with good WiFi, storage and shower. Meals are available at the cafe/restaurant.

Die Zimmer sind im wesentlichen sauber, aber vielleicht sollte das Personal noch mehr Zeit für die Zimmerreinigung bekommen, oder es sollte ab und an eine Generalreinigung durchgeführt werden. Es schwierig den Teppich, die Glasscheiben (Dusche und Fenster) aber auch die Innneinrichtung immer komplett sauber zu halten. Im Detail hier nicht ganz optimal.

Great staff. Air Canada cancelled our 0620 flight and put us on a flight 12 hours later and the staff let us back into our room even though we had checked out already and gave us a new late checkout.

It’s connected to the airport so the location is very convenient for overnight transit or to catch an early morning flight. It’s great that you can bring the airport trolley right up to your room and you can store it there overnight, there is enough space. The restaurant in the lobby is useful when you arrive later in the evening.

Easy access for our flight next morning

A little pricey for our short stay

So convenient after arriving on a midnight flight. Easy to find, very close to the terminal. Quick check in, friendly staff and a standard check out time of noon, with an option to extend. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable, room was spacious. We had breakfast in the lobby restaurant, staff was very friendly and the cook was excellent.

Unfortunately the bathroom wall was thin so smallest sound in there travelled through the whole room. The double doors were very loud and one of the hinges broke off after the first use, which made the doors useless and the noise even louder. I’m sure they’ll fix it, we’ve made it known at check out.

We stayed at the hotel during a 15 hour layover in Halifax. Location is very close to the airport. The room was clean, although very outdated. That is the only reason I didn’t give it a higher star rating.

Très bien placé pour prendre l'avion. Confortable et restaurant disponible. Chambre spacieuse, machine à café et bouilloire.

Bruit de travaux au dessus de la chambre, il a fallu que j'intervienne à l'accueil pour faire cesser. Plus bouton douche cassé.

Stayed here as a stopover on a trip. The check-in was quite smooth. We had made reservations, so much of the information was already available. At check-in we also requested a wake up call. The room was quite clean, comfortable and quiet considering it is attached to a busy airport. We managed to get a few hours sleep as we had a very early rise to caught a flight. The wakeup call was handy and right on time. Pricing for this hotel is reasonable considering its location. Check-out was extremely smooth and our invoice was in our email within a short period of time. We won't hesitate to stay here again.
