Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Comfortable 2nd floor room (#21) with good facilities & ensuite shower bathroom. Located in the centre of Minehead with lots of local dining & shopping on the doorstep. Short walk to the beach. We had our dog (cocker spaniel) with us and Stones provided a mat, treats, baggies & a water bowl for the room. Breakfast choice was excellent with a very substantial Traditional alongside other options & cereals, juices, toast & jams. Coffee / Tea was good and readily offered by the friendly staff. Sports bar showing football in the evening with good range of drinks available. Evening food available via a guest discount in the nearby Hairy Dog pub under the same ownership.
Note: Dog Room Cleaning Premium was not included in Booking.com price (not made clear in listing...but fair enough) Some creaky floors but generally quiet as the 2nd floor room was on a side road. Guest car parking is slightly limited and fc-fs

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026Stayed as family of 4. The room layout was perfect for us and the kids were delighted by the mini biscuit packs in the room. Breakfast was delicious- nice to have a combination of continental buffet and cooked to order hot food. Gluten free provision for breakfast good too. The sound proofing between bar and our family room was really effective.
The room was overly warm (and we stayed well after the heatwaves ended)! The fact there was no food on sunday-weds could have been better advertised (it was clear the pizza was only thurs-sat but not that there was no other menu) and it would have been nice if you could then bring food from outside into bar when kitchen was closed.

Tv in room very very small , \no food or drink allowed in the rooms ,which is absolutely ridiculous, walls were paper thin , the kitchen was closed so no food in the evening even though it stated there was , no i would not stay there again or recommend it .

Reviewed Aug 28, 2026Uns hat der Pub im Haus sehr gefallen. Unser Zimmer war auch prima, allerdings nur weil wir ein anderes Zimmer wie gebucht bekamen. Im gebuchten Zimmer roch es stark nach Urin, was wir bemängelt hatten. Das gebuchte Zimmer war im 3. Stock, sehr warm und sehr klein zu viert. Würde ich so nicht mehr buchen.
Die Betten waren nicht sehr bequem. Das Frühstück fanden wir anderswo auch hochwertiger, es wurde auch nicht mehr aufgefüllt. Das zuerst gebuchte Zimmer.

Reviewed Aug 21, 2026Das Hotel haben wir im Rahmen unserer Südenglandtour gebucht. Wir waren als Familie mit unserer 3-jährigen Tochter und unserem Hund für vier Tage dort. Unser Familienzimmer mit zwei separaten Schlafräumen war angenehm geräumig. Positiv fanden wir außerdem, dass Ventilatoren zur Verfügung standen und Hunde auch im Frühstücksrestaurant willkommen waren. Sehr gut gefallen hat uns die zentrale Lage des Hotels. Viele Ziele konnten wir bequem zu Fuß erreichen. Beim Frühstück konnte man verschiedene Varianten des englischen Frühstücks von einer Karte auswählen. Diese wurden frisch zubereitet.
Leider verfügte das Zimmer über keine Klimaanlage. Außerdem gibt es im Hotel keinen Fahrstuhl. Das Frühstücksbuffet hat uns insgesamt nicht überzeugt. Zwar waren Säfte, Müsli, Marmelade, Schokocreme und Milch vorhanden, allerdings gab es keinen Käse und keine Wurst. Brötchen und Croissants waren häufig bereits vergriffen und wurden während unserer Frühstückszeit nicht mehr nachgelegt. Enttäuschend war außerdem, dass während unseres viertägigen Aufenthalts keine Zimmerreinigung stattfand.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026The young lady on duty for breakfast was very polite to everyone and efficient. The breakfast was delicious. I had a lovely large pot of tea which kept my tea hot, just the way I like it.
No password protected internet for hotel guests, so I wouldn't be able to stay here again if I had to work for a few hours.

Had to walk up three flights of very steep stairs the room was up in the loft and so very small that the bathroom sink was in the room not the bathroom and there was no clothes hanging facilities or seating but for a stool behind the bathroom door.

Never had the opportunuty to explore ground floor or a lift, i was looking fora last minnute booking and found l had to tackle a large staircase. Once up we couldnt go down again until morning {disabled following amputation surgery. As food is not allowed in the room we were left with no eating option until the following morning - felt a bit like a prisoner

Reviewed May 18, 2026Room was very clean tidy and modern. The pub is very dog friendly the breakfast was excellent. The highlight however are the staff all of them were extremely welcoming especially the gentleman who sorted breakfast.
£20 for a dog is reasonably standard but lots of places make a little effort to justify the charge. There was nothing here.

Reviewed May 4, 2026Staff were friendly and very helpful, the room was comfortable and quiet; cooked breakfast was nice and dinner exceptionally tasty (and good value). Central location in Minehead, just a couple of minutes' walk to shops, pubs/restaurants, station and the sea.
Couldn't work out the wi-fi ... the free service seemed to be without passwords and my device suggested not using it for security reasons: couldn't find an obvious password in the room for the secured wi-fi. TV control didn't have batteries and the ones offered at reception turned out to be flat. Sure we could have asked again, but instead we sourced our own replacements.

L'accesso alle camere è in parte condiviso col pub e quindi ad alcuni potrebbe non piacere.

Our room had a little side room with bunkbeds to give the kids a bit of privacy while still being part our room. Breakfast was tasty, with selection of either a traditional English or with somewhat continental options. It had a pool table and darts at the bar area for an evening entertainment.
Lack of leaflets with tourists information about the area. There could be an offer of cheese and ham to accompany the continental breakfast. The double bed in our bedroom was a small double.
