No tv in our room, had to ask for kettle and extra pillows, mattress was very uncomfortable, room was cold and condensation covered the window. Our view was of the neighbours garden shed. Unfortunately it was very disappointing.

Wir waren als Familie für 2 Nächte im Killarney View House. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und aufmerksam. Bereits im Vorfeld hatten wir einen sehr netten Email Kontakt. Die Wünsche, die wir geäußert hatten, wurden alle erfüllt. Vielen Dank nochmal dafür. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und sauber. Das angebotene Frühstück war sehr lecker und ausreichend. Das Personal war allesamt überaus nett und zuvorkommend. Wir hatten einen wirklich schönen Aufenthalt und werden auf jeden Fall noch einmal wiederkommen.

No t your coffee making facilities in the room, the bed was a little lumpy, but a nice outlook on the river.

Super clean space, convenient location and breakfast was amazing!

My only issue was that the beds were rock hard and hard to sleep on, but otherwise was an amazing stay!

Das Badezimmer war in gutem Zustand.

Sehr kleines Zimmer in das ein drittes Bett gestellt wurde. Keine Ablagemöglichkeiten. Kein Schrank. Betten waren klapprig und mit Vorsicht zu genießen. Fensterverschlüsse waren defekt, Fenster konnten daher nicht richtig geschlossen werden. Die Lounge war zwar nett eingerichtet, wurde aber um 22:00 geschlossen: also ab in den Hasenkasten. Es gab ein eher bescheidenes irisches Frühstück. Kein Obst, kein Joghurt, kein Müsli, Cornflakes etc., keine Marmelade.

Nothing, it was awful

I usually prefer not to write negative reviews but I feel that it is my duty to share this as a warning to fellow travellers, my husband and I booked in for a two night stay as we were working in the area for the weekend, It is by far the worst place I have ever stayed and I travel a lot around Ireland for work, we paid €360 for the two nights and left after one night. the house itself on the outside is completely run down with paint flaking off, fences and decking rotting, inside the large house is completely dated, old rotten wood, single pane windows with wind blowing through them, the room was tiny, the double bed without a headboard was like a large single with 2 flat pillows, disgusting furniture, 2 sockets only for plugs, a single bed with no bed clothes, beds were pushed against a wall/window, the only positive I can give this property is that it was clean but it was so damp (in summer!)the bed was actually wet, the metal curtain pole and any metal fittings were completely rusted. No vanity or place to store anything in the bathroom apart from the windowsill, shampoo had to go on the floor of the shower. No obscure glass in the bathroom that was on a ground floor, for privacy you had to close the roller blind that was covered in mildew and dead flies. 1 small towel each was supplied with 1 hand towel, no hairdryer, no Tv, no kettle, no water, no iron. The double bed was so small my husband had to lie on the single bed that had no bedding in his clothes for the night, no sleep was had in the chilly damp room. Breakfast was a shock, I am not particularly fussy however the lack of food available was unbelievable, there was help yourself hot water, tea bags, drip coffee, and the worst tasting orange juice, no cereal, no fruit, no yogurt etc.

Unfortunately we have no positive feedback.

Unfortunately this is one of the worst - if not the worst B&B I have stayed in, in Ireland.

Sehr freundliches Servicepersonal, welches uns in Empfang genommen und beim Frühstück bedient hat. Die nahe gelegene Innenstadt ist in einigen Gehminuten fussläufig erreichbar.

Wir hatten aus Gründen zwei Zimmer mit je 2 Einzelbetten gebucht und bestätigt bekommen, jedoch 2 Einzel- und 1 Queensize Doppelbett bekommen. Als allererstes fiel in den Zimmern der unangenehm künstliche Geruch von Lufterfrischern auf. Die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig. Staub auf Lampen und Heizung wären noch tolerierbar, aber ein permanenter Fäkalgeruch in Zimmer 5 ist ein absolutes No-Go! Das gesamte Haus ist sichtbar in die Jahre gekommen und wurde scheinbar nur bedarfsgerecht renoviert. In Zimmer 5 war ausserdem der Wasserdruck in der Dusche praktisch nicht existent. Körperhandtücher waren in beiden Zimmern für zwei Personen vorhanden, jedoch jeweils nur ein Hände-Handtuch für zwei Personen. Alles in allem war der Preis von 800 Euro für 2 Nächte für 4 Personen (16.08. - 18.08.) absolut ungerechtfertigt.

The staff of the B&B is exceptional! Friendly and helpful. The location is great. The parking spots are useful, and the upstairs lounge is perfect for relaxing or reading in the morning.

In general, it’s a bit old. The room and the bathroom had no surfaces/cabinets to put our stuff on. Not a great choice for breakfast, which has no buffet. You can order either full Irish breakfast, eggs on toast, or pancakes - which is limited for people with dietary restrictions. They provided toast and some fruit for us, which we were grateful for. The room was a little humid and needed some renovations.

Good location

The B&B is very dated compared to the pictures online. Didn’t meet the expectations in line with the pricing. Beds were u comfortable and rooms were very noisy with the driveway right at the window.

Staff was very helpful and kind, location was good for an easy walk into the city.

Great last minute stay, convenient location to city centre.

The river view, although it could only be really appreciated from the common areas. The full Irish breakfast was average quality.

The location of this property is ideal, only a 20minute walk into the centre of Killarney, or a 20minute walk into the National Forest. With parking available at the rear of the building. This is real Irish hospitality; you can tell the owner really takes her role seriously in being the hostess with an old-school style. If you want a feeling of what it would be like to visit your Irish Grandma and stay in her comfy house next to a picturesque bridge and riverside. Stunning really! I see other reviews saying it's dated, but do we need to lose all decor heritage for the sake of newness? Perhaps this guesthouse is just fine the way it is; it's clean and cared for. The breakfast in the morning is a delight, offering eggs any way on toast or a full Irish and unlimited Juice, water, and Coffee. It's not often you come across guest houses with owners who remember your name and where you're from the next day and genuinely have interest in your travels. This is a gem that should be celebrated, a sacred antique.

Needed a hairdryer in the room, the reading lights were far too bright and needed a lamp shade. Otherwise, a perfectly great stay! Don't let the dated/old reviews put you off and embrace going to a more traditional guesthouse.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Wir durften nach dem Check-out unseren PKW noch für eine Weile auf dem sicheren Parkplatz lassen. Zimmer sowie Bad sauber und Betten komfortabel. Das Frühstück war reichlich und lecker. Die Lage ist zentrumsnah ( 20 Minuten zu Fuß bis ins Zentrum). Für uns ein toller Aufenthalt.

Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche ist recht schwach, aber es hat zum Duschen noch gereicht!

JJ checked us in and he was very kind and accommodating. We were down for the weekend as we were both taking part in the Ring of Kerry charity cycle and he was very kind to us. The location is really good, a 15 minute walk into town and the private parking is great. We felt like he couldn't do more for us and we really appreciated that as the place in general isn't great value for money

We've stayed in Killarney before for the ROK cycle and have found much better value for money. For example we had to push before arriving to be able to have our breakfast earlier and didn't get a great response although we just wanted porridge nothing cooked. However when checking in JJ was very accommodating to us. The stress before arrival wasnt helpful especially for the weekend thats in it where we've stayed in other places who have no issue at all with the earlier breakfast (6.30am). The value for money overall isn't there. We paid 350 for 2 nights. The beds are very uncomfortable, the rooms are incredibly basic and you can't see what your money is going towards. I needed a hair dryer from reception and the first one was burnt out with red tongs, the second was fine although looked to be from the 80s. There isn't any tea making facilities in the room, and I understand you can pre request this if required but I'd even wonder where this could possibly go in the room as there is no shelves or anything outside of the bedside cabinet and the clothes hanger. Finally something small but the breakfast offered 3 options, a full irish, eggs on toast or pancakes. It's petty to point out but made me laugh again and wonder what the high price actually pays for because the full Irish is 2 tiny sausages, 2 fried eggs, 1 black and white pudding and a rasher. No hash browns, beans or mushrooms that actually make up a full Irish. Between us we were given a slice of bread each. At the end of the day this filled us but my point is I really think management need to reassess themselves and what they are charging versus what they are providing Small changes could bring the value for money up with minimal cost.

Der Ortskern ist nach einem 10-minütigen Spaziergang zu erreichen. Es sind ausreichen Parkplätze vorhanden. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Die Zimmer und die Einrichtung sind etwas ist die Jahre gekommen und könnten eine Renovierung gebrauchen. Unser Zimmer lag nicht zum Fluss sondern zum Hof/ Einfahrt.

We had a lovely one-night stay at Killarney View House B&B. The property has a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful view, and it was a very comfortable place for a family stay. The location was convenient for visiting Killarney, and the room facilities met our needs well. I especially appreciated the gentleman at reception who gave us the key late at night. He was very professional, helpful, welcoming and kind, which made our arrival much easier and more pleasant. Overall, the property exceeded our expectations. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily visit again.

The staff is very attentive and friendly, the place is super clean and peaceful, with a perfect view of the river, and comfortable beds. There is a cozy common sitting room to read or interact with other guests. The place has parking, is close to everything, and is excellent for families and couples who want a peaceful vacation at a fair price."

We loved the breakfast, it has complete options, but I missed having something lighter, since we visited during the summer. Some fruit options, yogurt, and cereal would be a nice variety for hot days.

Die Zimmer sind alle renoviert und funktional eingerichtet. Die Lage etwas ausserhalb des Stadtzentrums (ist allerdings in ca. 15 Minuten erlaufbar) am Ufer eines Flusses ist wirklich schön. Zu Fuss sind Muckross House und Farms sowie Muckross Abbey zu erreichen. Was uns wirklich überrascht hat, war die Herzlichkeit und Freundlichkeit des Personals, die unseren Aufenthalt wirklich zu etwas Besonderem gemacht haben. Das im Preis enthaltene Frühstück ist übrigens wirklich gut. In Gesprächen mit anderen (auch deutschen) Gästen wurden unsere Einschätzungen eindeutig geteilt.

Es war alles in Ordnung. Nur hier kurz der Hinweis, dass es sich hier nicht um ein Vier-Sterne-Hotel handelt, sondern um ein Guesthouse.

The parking was excellent at this property hidden around the back and felt safe for our Motorbikes. The view out over the river from the property was rather nice. The room was comfortable enough and the bathroom was clean and big. Both with a view out over the river. Breakfast was tasty and a good few options. Staff were friendly

I really liked the breakfast, was delicious, there's as well the gluten free version During breakfast, there's an amazing waitress and myself and my parents stayed there speaking with her and sharing things and experiences! Was a great stay there, then on the river, amazing, the night was so chill and the room was on the river side. Gorgeous 😍😍

We loved that all the requests were met when we arrived. The view from the room was stunning. Location was excellent. Breakfast options were good. Bedding and bathroom was very clean. Plenty of towels and toilet roll. Ample parking also with lovely grounds to sit and enjoy. If the weather wasn't nice you have the lounge to enjoy.

The bed is standard double which is fine unless you're used to higher size. It's an old house and walls are very thing. You could hear conversations in the hall and the person snoring next door but that's not really the fault of the owners.

Nicely situated next to a river with lounge and balcony facing the river

Small cramped room, no TV, on plug in far corner, no access to be able to make tea, no firewood available for a fire in the lounge - generally way to small room with no space and nothing in the room apart from bed and shower - no hooks to hang up wet towels for example. This could have been a much more pleasant stay if they simply welcomed guests to make a cup of tea in the dining room.

We had a twin room with 2 single beds and it was quite a small room but we made it work. Bathroom was very small, nowhere to hang wet towels. Only 1 flat pillow per bed - could definitely do with new pillows.

The property was in a good location to the town and Killarney National Park. The breakfast was nice with views of the river and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Im asthmatic found i had to put clothes under pillow to rise head. Had to wear a jumper to stay warm. No heater in shower.room Alot of noise by owner and staff when trying to rest if staying for few day s very little parking. Respect works both ways. Felt uncomfortable and had to make sure when coming home not to make noise as 22.00 to 7am its quiet time. Room not very spacious

Our stay was, unfortunately, very disappointing. The property felt quite dated and poorly maintained, and it did not meet basic expectations for comfort. On our first morning, there was no hot water at all, and throughout the stay the water pressure remained consistently low. On the second night, there was significant noise from other guests that continued into the early hours, making it difficult to sleep. This situation was made worse at breakfast the following morning, when the owner approached us and accused us of being responsible for the disturbance. Despite our explaining that we were not involved and had also been affected by the noise, she continued to reprimand us in front of other guests. She stated that we were “playing innocent,” called us a disgrace, and made a number of inappropriate and accusatory remarks. We found this behaviour entirely out of line and quite humiliating, particularly as we were not part of the group responsible. We had gone to bed hours before the commotion began and were, in fact, also woken by the noise. Camera footage should be reviewed to confirm that the disturbance did not originate from our room and should have been reviewed ahead of speaking to us like that. Overall, the combination of the facility issues and the way this situation was handled left us with a very negative impression of our stay.

The Female staff were lovely. The beds were comfortable. The location was great.

The Owner seemed to be floating about, and excessively complaining to the female staff. She ranted on for an hour each time I heard her. It was done in ear shot of the communal area and I could hear every word. The windows need replaced.

My only criticism about the whole time we stayed here was … the lack of power in the shower, everything else was excellent. They don’t have tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, but were more than happy to supply them on request 👍🏻

This has been the worst stay in a B&B for me in my life. There was no heating, really bad breakfast and no wifi in the room. The stay was super uncomfortable and it wasn't worth my money. It felt like a big waste of money. The whole place was freezing and when asked why the heating isn't working or can you make it work they said sorry and that's it. It looked like they didn't care if we were comfortable or not. They tried to make fun of the whole situation by cracking jokes.

Having to leave so soon

The location is absolutely wonderful and the staff are even better. Had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Mary, the proprietor, and she was beyond refreshing. I've not felt so welcome anywhere before and I've been quite a few places. The breakfast was great. The cost was amazing. Most importantly, Kilarney and the View House solidified our desire to move across the pond. The stunning views of the river, the quick walk/drive to downtown and the park, and the amazing staff will absolutely make you happy you booked here. Erischa was a pleasure to speak with, gave great recommendations, and was an absolute joy! We are in love with the Kilarney view and we absolutely want to come back! P.S. they can absolutely poach an egg with the best of them!

Nothing. Everything was amazing! Only recommend that they charge more! This place is a steal. Tremendous value for cost, great people, wonderful stay. 10/10.
