ibis budget Birmingham Centre

Stayed in a newly renovated room, a much better design than the old type. Great idea to put the bathroom in one room (previously sink and shower were in bedroom, toilet separate) staff are very friendly, location is great and rooms were spotlessly clean. The hotel also accommodated my room allocation/location requests which I appreciated.

I was in room 553 and the water pressure for the shower was very poor, very low pressure which was not ideal. The room was also fitted with an air cooling or air conditioning system, this did not work at all, essentially just made noise but did not seem to blow any air out at all. I am confident it was not user error by myself, as friend were staying in the room opposite and theirs worked quite well. The few issues were a little frustrating, especially after the newly renovated room was to a high standard itself.

Shouting in the corridor at 4 am. No one came to sort it out. We had to tell them to shut up they went on for a further 10/15 minutes.

i think it is hugely overpriced but a good room, I'd stay in a premier inn/travelodge next time for better facilities and cheaper stay but it was a nice spot.

Not very happy the fact that there was no kettles in the rooms and that you have to pay £2.50 for a cup of tea that was like water out of the machine when you've been travelling and then you're entering the hotel you want to be going through your room and sitting down for five minutes and be an hour to have a cup of tea in your room the rooms are very small considering we paid extra for extra room and then we were told it's just because it was refurbished yet beddings were all still old and so was pillowcases when this is a family room as well it's not really that great whatsoever there's no wardrobes to put your clothes in or hang your clothes up. We have also stayed in ibis budget hotels in Birmingham area before and they still have facilities even when they're a budget as well.

The hotel itself is not too bad but I do think you need to think of when people are coming to stay and how comfy you can make that stay for them. Even with the toilet space is so tight to the war my partner needs were actually touching the wall as well considering it's a family room I would not be impressive I'd bought my children along with me there's only one been in the bathroom as well when I think there needs to be a bin in the room itself. On the website we also upgraded the room and then when we went to the reception she said it's not an upgraded room it was just a refurbished room so we didn't find that very helpful at all. Unfortunately me and my partner definitely would never recommend staying here ever again because we won't be. Unlike I've mentioned before we have stayed in ibis budget hotels before and they've been nothing like this we were very very upset to be fair we also didn't really want to stay the extra night we then asked if we could have our money back and she said because we'd paid online for it that we couldn't be entitled to have our money back which I think it's quite wrong as well. Also when you paid for the facilities you at least expect team making facilities even in a budget hotel. When we come up to Birmingham once a month I usually do take pictures I haven't taken any of this one either so I think that in itself shows

The hotel is central and that made travelling to the conference I attended easy. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's a Morrisons store right across the street and the Indian restaurant opposite is excellent - The Cafe Racer

No tea making facilities in the room. There’s no AC. It's like this weird hybrid that cools above 18c and heats below it. I wanted the room cooler but it was 17c/18c and it wouldn't do it. Breakfast was good except it's a cold buffet (nothing wrong with that) and they had cheese but no cold meat like ham. Which is odd.

Comfortable clean room, excellent hostel like facilities budget facilities. Better than some hotels that you pay double for !

I can think of several options that would be better value for money ( £200) for one room - very small no tea or coffee on the room and no parking available when arriving after 6pm - would never stay in an Ibis again

-very clean, exactly as expected with a very good lobby area and friendly staff. The lack of a coffee machine or drink facilities inside the room is made up by the cheap food and drinks, as well as the coffee machine, that operates 24/7. -exactly what you get for your money.

-a tiny bit small, but its expected. Be warned that the room Tv is quite low and the bed takes up a lot of space, i guess it would make it hard to move around if youre above a certain height or very big.

The climate control system was extremely noisy (it appeared to be a problem in my room, not the whole hotel); it was too loud and would not turn off, which made it impossible to sleep. Also, the pillows were too hard, so I had to cushion them with my t-shirts.

Insanely good value for money. Basics done very well. Beds are comfy, bathrooms are nice, water is hot, rooms feel secure. Staff are lovely. Location perfect for attending a gig.

There was a leak in the room due to the heatwave, but they sent a handywoman up to fix it within 5 minutes of me reporting it. Hairdryers need to be requested at reception, which is a personal pet peeve, but the staff are very accommodating. Rooms aren’t soundproof. TVs don’t connect to the WiFi, although they are Smart TVs.

Girl on reception was so helpful and accommodating! Nothing was too much of a request for her! Able to get us extra pillows, a room with two beds instead of one as requested when I booked initially, and access to the luggage storage room for our heavy bags while we went shopping before heading to the airport to fly home! Absolute gem of a woman! Not sure of her name but had glasses and super friendly and was working the Saturday afternoon when we checked in with her and there at check out next day!

the size of the room was disappointing. I ve stayed in this hotel several times and this was the first time I ve found the room too small. It is a budget hotel and there are no frills - one shower gel bottle that needs to be used at the wash hand basin and in the shower. Only a waste bin in the shower room. "recycling facilities" in the lobby gives guests the opportunity to place plastic and paper into bins but no option for cans.

Het personeel was heel behulpzaam en een 24-uurs receptie is zeker een pluspunt. De locatie is top, het centrum is binnen 20 minuten te voet te bereiken, maar als je liever met de bus gaat, dan is er een busstation om de hoek.

Het ontbijt was echt vrij karig en heel vaak op. Reken niet op meer dan een simpele yoghurt, wat ontbijtgranen en als je geluk hebt broodjes. Het publiek in de ochtend is echt prima maar 's avonds was het een beetje grimmig. De kamers zijn heel klein, en als je met 3 op een kamer verblijft heb je eigenlijk geen ruimte om te bewegen. Dus als je iets zoekt waar je enkel komt slapen en douchen, dan is het absoluut prima!

Good Value for Money I stayed for one night at this budget hotel and was pleasantly surprised. The room was small, but that is to be expected for a budget hotel, and it had everything I needed for a short stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and overall it offered excellent value for money. The reception team were friendly and helpful, happily offering advice on nearby places to visit and eat when asked, which was much appreciated. The continental breakfast was also very good, with plenty of choice and everything presented well. It was a great way to start the day. Overall, this is a good budget hotel for a short stay, and I would happily stay here again.

De parkeergelegenheid was op basis van vol-is-vol, op een van de dagen moesten we op het allerlaatste moment dus nog een oplossing voor die avond/nacht vinden, uiteraard tegen hoge extra kosten, dus geen ideale locatie als je met de auto komt. Ontbijtbuffet was minimaal ingericht (geen warme items, weinig keuze) en overdag moest je koffie uit een betaalautomaat halen (relatief duur en geen lekkere koffie). Relatief dunne matrassen, dus geen supercomfort. Maar met de lage prijs voor de overnachtingen verwachtten we ook geen 5-sterrenkwaliteit.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room, sheets changed daily and fresh towels. Pool table and table football in the lobby is a nice touch, also has coffee, cold drinks and food vending machines. Good showers too!

WIFI not great, had to hotspot the TV from a phone to access netflix etc. Lots of noise from deliveries in the car park if you keep your window open. Climate control wouldn't allow temperature to be lowered so it was quite hot when trying to sleep

By the time we got there just before 8am I had to ask staff for more toast, baked beans, hash browns and bacon as they had all ran out.

I didn’t like anything The room is like a washroom the size is so small bed quality is so bad there’s no body wash or shampoo in the washroom and there’s a handwash but the bottle button is not working the tissue paper quality is very bad overall bery bad.

Very good value for money considering the location and being able to park the car within the hotel carpark, which was £10 for 24 hours. Room was clean and tidy. Plenty plug sockets with USB-A charger ports. And good lighting in the room.

The lifts were making some concerning noises, but seem functional, one of them the screen is damaged so you are unable to see which floor you are on within the lift. The T.V in the room is far too close to the bottom of the bed, honestly I would have preferred to not have had the T.V at all, you have to awkwardly side-step along the foot of the bed while trying to avoid hitting the T.V with your back. The way the toilet is fitted my partner (6"3) was unable to use comfortably due to his knees hitting the wall infront.

As soon as I arrived I was greeted with cheery faces happy to help , polite and enthusiastic. Walking to my room it was lovely and clean and had a lovely fresh smell . The room was small as expected but again super clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. I think the room may have recently been upgraded as it certainly had a new fresh feel to it. My room was on the main road side which made is noisy with the window open as it was quite warm but didnt hear much at all once the window was shut and made for a peaceful (slightly warm) night. The fan is only an air circulator and slightly cools air . My room was on the sunny side so it got quite warm, in the winter that will be good, I also got a chance to see the opposite side rooms which were much cooler so on my side it would of been nice to have air con. over all I enjoyed my stay the staff were all so friendly and warm including the cleaners it seemed they all enjoyed working there so well done .

Would of been nice to be able to cool my room a tad more, carpark does need to be a tad bigger as it’s a first come first served basis however I was lucky to get parked on both of my nights. I enjoyed my stay there wasn’t much I didn’t like

Conveniently located for the O2 Academy and walking distance of The Bullring. Staff very friendly and happy to help. Rooms are clean, small and basic but when you're just kipping there after going to a nearby gig it's absolutely fine. Would be better if the mattresses were more comfortable. Our second time staying here and adequate both times. Pizza is only £8.50 and fed two of us. Vending machines had drinks and snacks.

The mattress was solid and a silverfish was crawling on some of our clothes on the morning we departed. The room was very clean though so it must have crawled in from somewhere...

The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and I had a good night’s sleep. Overall, everything was clean and pleasant, and I really enjoyed my two-night stay.

The main thing I didn’t like was the parking charge. I feel that £10 for every 24 hours is quite expensive, especially when already paying for a hotel stay. For a two-night stay, I had to pay an additional £20 just for parking, which I feel is not very reasonable. I believe parking should either be free for hotel guests or offered at a more reasonable rate. Also, the parking area is quite small, and sometimes I could not find an available parking space. It would be better if the hotel could provide a larger parking area or improve the availability of spaces. Overall, these were the only things that I felt could be improved.

Short walk to town one way and Edgbaston the other, with Tesco, Co-op and Greggs close by. Free pool table, comfortable beds.

Great value for money. Basic but modern and clean. No kettle in the room but it is a budget hotel, and there are facilities on the ground floor to make hot drinks. I saw people playing pool when I came back after a night out and the atmosphere was busy but pleasant.

Leanne cleaned our rooms beautifully. The beds were comfortable and the children especially liked the overhead bunk in each of out triple rooms. The staff were friendly and we were made to feel welcome. The shower was great

It is a budget hotel so remember to take a hairdryer. No tea making facilities in the rooms however there is a vending machine in the lobby so you can get a drink
