Location is fantastic. Rooms are large and it's very quiet. Hotel is old, but loved the character and it's what you would expect.
Nothing to report
Room was lovely, had a really nice breakfast and retired to the garden/terrace to finish off with a nice cup of coffee
All was good
Great location
Carpets need updating
Beautiful location- friendly staff and good value for money
Nothing
Loved the sea views and charm the hotel has. Definitely felt all of the history there. Rooms were very spacious and had lovely outdoor areas. Was also right on the sea which was great.
It was a bit dated, but I was told everything was being redecorated so maybe our room just hadn’t been done updated yet. Couldn’t really complain for a 1 night stay.
Location
Lack of lift for first day and night. Also let down by lack of detest. When you are told things will be done they MUST be done and on time.
Everything went well and we loved it all. We booked a garden view, rather than a sea view, and were delighted to find that we had a view "up river" and over to Flushing and beyond. The room had everything we wanted from tea and coffee making facilities to a bath with shower over, brilliant for a good soak. Even though it was only a standard room, we had 2 arm chairs so we didn't have to sit on the bed to watch TV. Breakfast service started quite early and the breakfast itself was well cooked and with a standard buffet for cereals etc.. The hotel has an excellent location, right on the front, and the car park, now that it has been extended and re-surfaced, is very good.
The service in the lounge could be a bit better.
Fantastic location. Lovely pool
Free Wifi was very slow. Lift wasn't working and we were on the top floor. Breakfast service was very slow and the plates were not warmed so our food cooled down rapidly.
Nice location with a great sea view.
Looked a little tired in places and the lift wasn’t working.
Not very good
Daughter couldn't eat bacon as not cooked enough for her she chose alternative menu the following day mackerel but disappointed again as it was .ixed with potatoes so more looked like fishcake.
Swimming pool and location
Lift was out of order but staff helped whenever you needed it. Children jumping in swimming pool in front of signs clearly stating it was not allowed.
August, 1 night stay. Balcony room was lovely, large room with big bed, sofa, large TV, double wardrobe and 2 large dressers with 2 sets of French doors onto large balcony with small table and chairs. Bathroom had sink, toilet and roll top bath with shower. Views were fantastic looking out over the front lawns and the bay. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room, kettle, hairdryer, iron and board. Room itself was a bit dated but very clean. Breakfast however needs improving! Very small portion of full English and no choice of size. Only 1 sausage, egg, bacon, hash brown and small pot of baked beans. I like a hearty breakfast in the mornings and this certainly wasn't that. The restaurant is huge so a buffet style service would be better instead of a set menu with tiny portions. For the money I paid for one night stay, the breakfast was dismal and needs improving.
Breakfast, one bedside socket didn't work, EV charging bays fenced off / not working.
Lovely room, great size, terrific location, good bar and gardens
Room in need of some upgrading, and shower definitely not as good as one would expect in this standard of hotel. Bath was excellent, however.
Location, breakfast
Tired old decor and noisy room
Perfect location 5 mins walk to the harbour. Very comfortable bed. Huge room with plenty of tea coffee etc.
Very slight musty smell in the bathroom. Tiny tv compared to the size of the room. Getting pick I know.
The breakfast was great and the service was amazing too. A breakfast with an amazing view.
Location was good, lovely view/access to the water, was clean
Lift wasnt working (we were on 3rd floor), our room was not available for check in until 15m after the official time, the wifi was slow, the property felt extremely dated, needs a major refurbishment
The location was good, 15 mins from the town and the beach.
Its location is the best
The lift wasn't working
Alt var pænt og rent. Venligt personale, utrolig pæne omgivelser både ude og inde. Elevator.
Beautiful location close to beach and town, staff are very friendly and all in all a nice place to stay.
Very expensive for a property that is in desperate need of renovation, wall paper is hanging off walls, carpets are ripped and patched, damp patches in rooms.
Easy access from Falmouth Docks train station few hundred yards. Beautiful view from superior double room with huge balcony with furniture outside. Room was absolutely stunning, everything in room couldn’t fault coffee making and tea facilities great little fridge very good and cold, very clean room no marks o carpet, settee or anything. Bed very comfortable overall a brilliant stay thank you The Falmouth Hotel.
Beautiful bathroom very clean and big unfortunately you got to climb into bath to use shower not great for me disabled or older people who are abundant in this hotel , but I’m not complaining just be careful.
Beautiful location
Parts of the hotel are still very dated.
There was a good choice of breakfast. Helpful staff. Hotel was really clean and tidy
Staff very helpful. Nothing was any trouble. Accommodated my partners dietry needs. Loved the location. Great scenic views. Will definitely be going back

Staff were friendly, location was excellent
Breakfast was not good hardly any choice, facilities of spa were unclean. Room little bit small for value for money
Great location. Close to centre of town and to the main beach.
The hotel was generally very dated / tired. Rooms (and the double bed) were particularly small. Our room with a sea view which came at an extra cost was very disappointing. Realise it was a busy "graduation" weekend but the accommodation was very overpriced and poor value for money. Breakfast on the Sunday morning was a disaster as it took 45-60 minutes to get served.
Just a fabulous hotel.
It was all great.
Lovely historical hotel being nicely refurbished - still in progress - eg hallways not yet redone - but that wasn’t a problem. Great views.
Restaurant was pricey and service could have been more attentive.
Clean hotel, lounge comfortable. Great views
The bed and pillows uncomfortable. Probably mattress needs changing.
Plenty of parking, impressive building with a stunning sea view and a short walk to town. Fantastic breakfast
The location is excellent
In need of a lot of restoration the bedroom was in need of a lot of work plaster falling off the walls paint missing evidence of water damage and mold around windows
Delightfully atmospheric, reflecting its Victorian past but with modernisations underway. Magnificent sea views. Comfortable beds.
Still lots of redecoration and upgrades to do - they are underway but it’s a big hotel! Not all the bathrooms are updated yet. Ours was clean and functional but decor and facilities tired. The handle and lock on the door was broken but a friendly and helpful maintenance man replaced it promptly.
Kept upto date with Ali Ely colour palette. Very relaxing
Nice place, staff friendly n polite, I wouldn’t call the room 403 as executive, chips on the wall next to the desk, no toilet brush, breakfast was inconsistent, once we had one rasher of bacon n once we had two. Once the scrambled egg was runny once it wasn’t. Stains on the carpet, could barely reach the windows to close them….not executive at all
My female partner didn’t want to stay because the glass in the bathroom at the bottom was stained but the top half wasn’t n she was paranoid about the property overlooking room 403 had people from the property overlooking our room had high powered binoculars to see her topless. Luckily she had friends stay at Kings Charles Quauy (I think it’s called) and was able to share a room, we came down for a wedding.
A great location with lovely views. The communal rooms were lovely and extremely comfortable.
Our room was in need of refurbishment, the curtains were in a very bad condition and some the furniture needed to be replaced.
The place is just beautiful and staff were very helpful and friendly. Views amazing and the room was lovely with a particularly comfy bed.
We ordered some chunky chips and there weren’t many of them for the £5 each that we paid plus I think as we booked very late the price could have been a bit lower but it was still amazing.
Location, hotel and gardens, decor, excellent staff, food was amazing
As its a grade 2 listed building it cannot have air con unfortunately
The position was great. Ten minute walk into Falmouth ten minute walk to a lovely beach
The room was unbearably hot window would only open a little. A very small fan was given us did nothing to keep us cool. Somebody had left food in our fridge. Which was also warm !
Location and views. Great staff and lovely newly fitted bathroom.
The bed and pillows. The bed felt small for a double and seemed to roll into the middle and the pillows were very flat. I didn’t sleep well as it felt too small.
The hotel foyer looks lovely and sets a standard for the rest of the rooms which unfortunately they don’t meet. The woman on the front desk was very friendly and helpful though, and the view from the Restaurant was beautiful.
Everything felt very tatty and dated. The bed was fairly comfortable but the room was nothing to write home about. Very tired looking, a spot of black mould on the bathroom ceiling. Like it was obviously a beautiful room in its day but that must have been years ago. The leisure facilities were also weird and tatty; pokey changing rooms, the hot tub was uncomfortable to sit in.
First Impressions & Location: Beautiful hotel with an absolute "wow" factor upon arrival. The lounge and bar area in reception are lovely, and the views over Castle Beach and the bay are stunning. Room & Amenities: Our twin room was on the smaller side, but it had everything we needed, including comfy beds and ample wardrobe space. The pool was a fantastic bonus that we enjoyed using every single day. Dining: Breakfast offered a great variety of options (the vegetarian breakfast was a standout!). We also had dinner here two evenings—the food was delicious, beautifully presented, and served alongside incredible views. Service & Atmosphere: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Visiting during the eclipse and air show made for an incredible experience. Highly recommended!
Its an old hotel undergoing renovation. So will take time to all areas looking nice. So the hallways carpets leading to the bedrooms are a bit shabby
Camera e bagno molto ampi. Posteggio a disposizione.
Personale poco in chiaro su cosa è compreso e cosa va pagato a parte.
Very clean & welcoming

Great location by the beach but a bit far from the town centre.
Room was on the 4th floor and the lift broke down. Room was very small for the money paid and didn't really look like the pictures on the website.
Excellent and friendly staff. Good location for town and beaches.
Double bed too small, even for small people. Too noisy during the night.
I stay here every Falmouth Week. Absolutely love it and will continue to use it as a base when I’m working the event.
Absolutely nothing.
The unspoilt decor and general ambience of the building.

Good choice. Tasty porridge. Excellent staff. Quick service.
The bedroom carpet was grubby looking and very stained. Lots of morning noise from slamming doors. Food at dinner was poor.
Room was clean, with both a bath and a shower which was lovely. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was great. Bar out the back with a view of the sea is wonderful.
View. Breakfast and location
Some areas were dated but they are going through and refitting so not really a negative as most is already done and its a lovely building
The property was amazing the staff were fabulous I’ve worked in the Industry and was extremely impressed I will be back here soon we absolutely loved it one of the best stays I’ve ever had thank you very rarely write reviews xx
Great room with modern facilities and a great view. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food.
Staff were very accommodating
The hotel appears dated and unfortunately the visit was during a hot period where a noisy fan wasn’t conducive for a good nights sleep
Decor of room. View. Plenty of space
Nothing
Position to sea and amenities. The architecture was amazing
Although the main communal areas looked great it appears that no attention has been taken to the rooms. We had paint peeling and threadbare carpets which let the hotel down somewhat. We found the restaurant expensive for the quality of food.
Location is amazing. Staff friendly and attentive. Beautiful building.
Not a lot of choice for breakfast. Eggs Florentine a bit dry and tasteless.
Nice hotel bar and outside area. Breakfast consists of a small buffet (toast, butter/marmalade/marmite, muesli/cornflakes and milk/yogurt, crossiants) and ala cart english breakfast/egg dishes, which I think is a nice concept.
Our room shared the window with several huge ventilation shafts which were (even with windows closed) noisy and vented air that smelled like kitchen/fried oil. I guess that’s why the lower half of the windows very covered with opaque foil. The bathroom is renovated but really hideous - looks like a home project. The rest of the hotel is super nice so that was a really sad surprise….
Requires updating in bedrooms and carpets.
Room was lovely - spacious with character and great views.
top locatie, mooi gebouw, nostalgie
lovely old place, fantastic location
Pity the fabric doesn’t receive the quality of attention that fitments do
Brilliant front desk
Staff
We loved the architecture, seafront location. Very Victorian. Great views .The staff were amazing, and the food was excellent. So comfortable . As it's still being updated, in our first room, we'd give it a 4 stars, we stayed another night in a differant. We would give it a 3 star. It's a work in progress. Well worth a visit.
Overall , we liked it.
Welcoming and friendly staff. Complimentary bottle of Prosecco in our room as it was our anniversary.
Paintwork tired in places
Perfect location. Ten minute walk into town and close to another beach. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, including toiletries. Free bottle of water on check-in the replenished the next day. Little touches. Breakfast was lovely although I would have liked more fresh fruit. The pool could do with updating but it was nice to visit.
We were delighted to be upgraded to a sea view room but unfortunately the windows were so high we couldn't see much. We only had 2 windows which opened slightly so it could have been too hot in the high heat. We were lucky it wasn't too hot.
Courteous staff pleasant surroundings and excellent food
Bathroom was looking a little tired
Good location
Friendly in a good position
Staff very friendly. Request good breakfast. Loved the sea views
Food, staff, downstairs areas excellent,.
Food, staff, downstairs areas excellent, hallways in need of refurbishment, room windows dirty.
Location and vibe
Everything from start til finish. Unexpectedly had a room with a side-sea view. Amazing. Lovely beaches, stunning views everywhere. A castle, ferry boat rides, great walks, loads of restaurants. Lots to do and see close to the hotel
Only the weather - grey skies - but it was warm and dry - and it was not something the hotel could have fixed. But it didn't spoil our stay.
Older property, but beautiful old world charm. Great location looking out to the ocean. Nice breakfast, friendly staff
Location Good size rooms Staff
Tired Tatty in places Needs interior paintwork Tatty garden - weeds etc
Good location and historical.
The exceptional views
The bathroom was not clean and even after pointing this out nothing was done. It was a supposed executive room. Food at the hotel was expensive and on two occasions had to be returned. One meal was obviously burnt but still delivered to us. Very disappointing. All in all would not book again.
Character clean spacious
Bit warm but that’s the weather etc
Excellent hotel in great position. Staff very good. Food excellent. Rooms clean and large - great shower and great views!
Very expensive
The breakfast was very tasty.
The bedroom was tiny and far too warm and airless. On arrival we found all the lights were on, main bedroom light, bedside light and bathroom, the curtain was open and sunlight was pouring in. The room was so hot, even with the window open as far as we were allowed; the corridor was cooler. Reception sent up a fan but it was very noisy so couldn't leave it on overnight. We both spent the night on top of the being but neither of us slept well. When I spoke with the manager about it in the morning he apologised but said nothing could be done about it and didn't give any refund.
Lovely room with wonderful sea view. Lounge and outside areas are excellent when the sun is shining and terrific views.
Hotel in general is quite shabby, lots of paintwork needs refreshing, the carpet in my room very threadbare and bathroom flooring dingy. I pulled out the bedside cabinet for access to a plug point and very dusty behind.
The location is great. Hotel stunning and very clean .Lovely big room and very comfortable bed. Dinner and breakfast was very tasty. Staff polite and very professional.
Nothing everything was perfect
Unfortunately the weather was hot when we visited so even with an extra fan the room was hot. There were school proms on in the evenings which we were advised about shortly after booking which didn’t affect the stay at all. Lovely traditional hotel in a great location.
Room was too warm
Location, lounge, bar, breakfast
Size of the bedroom, size of bed, stuffiness of the room
The location is great and the bar and lounge areas are extremely comfortable with lovely views of the sea.
Rooms were slightly tired
Second time staying here and we absolutely love it. Great, comfortable rooms in a fantastic location. The staff are wonderful too
Nothing - all was great!
Tusen takk for vidunderlige minner!
Prime location and views. Good parking and easy walk into town
It’s tired and employs a lot of young staff who appear undertrained. Service at breakfast is haphazard.
Great location, particularly if you are arriving by train (also ample parking if not)
Breakfast was a little underwhelming, ok but could be better.
We loved everything about the hotel, especially the breakfast and bar staff. They couldn’t have been better.
We were staying during an exceptionally hot period of weather and could have benefited from an air conditioner. A fan was provided but it wasn’t great.
Lovely lovely lovely. All great….location, views, room, bar, outdoor spaces, pool/jacuzzi/sauna, breakfast, staff. Thank you, will be back 😃
The hotel is a beautiful historic building in a great location with lovely gardens and plenty of parking. The lounge and bar areas are attractive and make the most of the views, and all of the staff we met were friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately the bedroom was disappointing and didn’t reflect the character of the rest of the hotel. It felt tired and in need of refurbishment, with worn carpets, poorly finished paintwork and a very basic bathroom. The room was small, warm with no air conditioning, and the fan provided wasn’t particularly effective. The bed was also small and not especially comfortable. Our room had no meaningful view, looking onto the side of another building through frosted glass. One bathrobe was dirty, and some of the bathroom sealant was mouldy. Breakfast was adequate but fairly average, with ingredients that felt more budget than expected.
The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Great location for the beach and proximity to town centre.
Room allocated was less than expected
Room was drafty and scruffy
breakfast ok location superb
The hotel is clean and quiet and is close to the beaches and it’s a short walk into town
Was warm during my stay and the window did not open far
We were given a complimentary upgrade from a sea view room to one with a balcony. Fabulous views over the bay.
My only gripe is that the only mirror was the one above the sink in the bathroom. Could really do with a full length mirror in the bedroom. I had to use the mirrored tissue box to do my make up while my husband was shaving. Us women also like to check our dress in a full length mirror before going out.
