We had a wonderful stay here. The location is beautiful, right by the beach and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained, and the staff were friendly, welcoming and always ready to help. The food was enjoyable, and the overall service made our stay very pleasant. What we especially loved was the special welcome Hi-Tea offering, beautiful beachfront setting and the opportunity to simply relax and enjoy the surroundings. It's a great place for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in Kalutara. Highly Recommended!

View from the room .

Well when we went to the room there was a water leak from the AC . Had to wait for a long time until they fixed it but it kept dripping water till late night. Then we ordered room service and a chicken burger cost Rs:4000 ? I mean seriously?? . It cost less for the same burger in shangrila. Then we had the breakfast and it was the poorest I’ve ever had. The buffet was only few options and had to wait a long time till they bring the cups for tea then the water was finished, then the coffee jug was empty. Finally got the water and tried to get the milk but it was empty. Had to wait a long while for that too . By the time I received the milk my tea was cold ! . I’ve stayed at this hotel twice before and we had a pleasant stay . That’s why we booked again , but this time was the poorest. Specially we couldn’t even go to the beach. As there was a fence. We used to play at the beach every time we were there also when we were at the Royal Palms .

Refurbished bathrooms and pool

Tired rooms that have not been updated for forty years , mouldy smell in room , room AC when switched off drips water from the ceiling on to bed and floors due to condensation and needs to be mopped ( Room 137) door lock to back porch and access to pool and beach inoperative . Good quality local dishes but western dishes poor quality .

The restaurant section was under renovation therefore the dining settings were a bit confusing. We had bed and breakfast and breakfast wasn’t that good. But it is understandable due to the circumstances

Heerlijke ruime kamers , wij hadden 2 kamers die gekoppeld waren ideaal met kinderen ! Het is schoon, personeel is vriendelijk en je kunt er heerlijk eten

Helaas is er sinds een aantal jaar geen strand meer , dat vind ik wel echt heel erg jammer !

Das Essen war jeden Tag sehr lecker, abwechslungsreich, frisch und es gab genug davon. Es war auch jeden Tag etwas anderes dabei. Der Pool war gut, es gab immer genug freie Liegen, bis auf den letzten Tag, wo viele Gäste eingecheckt haben und es wurde am Pool voll. Die Zimmer waren sauber.

Der Name des Hotels ist etwas irreführend. Es sollte eher Tangerine near beach hotel heißen. Das Hotel hat eigentlich keinen Strand mehr. Der Ozean ist vom Hotel durch einen Zaun abgetrennt. In der Monzunzeit ist der Zugang zum Ozean komplett verwehrt. Man kann nur das Hotelgelände verlassen und zum nahe gelegenen Strand, ca. 2 Minuten gehen. Als wir es 3x gemacht haben, heftete sich jedes Mal sofort jemand von den Einheimischen an uns und wollte uns Taxifahrten, bzw. Tuck-Tuck Fahrten verkaufen. Sie waren ziemlich eindringlich. Außerdem sind dort Hunde, manchmal einzeln, aber auch zu zweit oder gar 3 auf einmal. Da wurde es auch gefährlich. Es ist besser in größeren Gruppen dort hin zu gehen.

Spacious rooms and breakfast had so many options to choose. Very helpful staff. Also we used the electric car charger on the premises which was very convenient.

I really loved the location and the staff were SO supportive 😊 Not to mention the FOOD.. I loved it so much! Your breakfast buffet was so delicious and there was Soo much to choose from too.. 100% my favorite hotel💜

The character of the hotel

A little dated but it’s alright. Housekeeping needs to be trained more on when they need to refresh/clean the room.

The reception staff were fantastic. They were welcoming, helpful, and made the check-in process smooth and pleasant.

I was disappointed with the treatment from the pool staff. It felt as though local guests were treated differently than international visitors, which was quite discouraging. • Lack of Politeness: The staff rarely smiled or engaged with guests, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. • Disrespectful Behavior: I observed instances where local guests were not given the same level of attention or courtesy as others. It’s essential for all guests to feel valued and respected, regardless of their background. I hope the management can address these issues to improve the experience for everyone. Overall, I believe hotel has great potential, but the staff’s attitude in the pool area needs significant improvement.

We received a nice sea view room overlooking the pool and beautiful garden. Room cleanliness is perfect it seems to be recently renovated rooms.Breakfast buffet is more varieties including some Indian food items.

We don't like spicy foods

It was a wonderful weekend I spent with my kids at hotel Tangerine. We were provided with excellently arranged interconnected rooms in time. The customer service was professional friendly and genuinely heartfelt, it made the experience wonderful. I would especially like to thank Mr Chathuranga the Room Division Manager for his exceptional hospitality and for making our stay truly wonderful. We recently held our annual office trip at Tangerine Beach Hotel, Kalutara, and overall, we had a very good experience. The hotel offers a pleasant beachfront atmosphere and a comfortable environment for group events and leisure stays. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the common areas were well maintained. The staff were courteous, friendly, and supportive throughout our stay. They were responsive to our requests and made a genuine effort to ensure that our group had an enjoyable experience. The reservation and coordination process was also handled professionally. The food was enjoyable, with a good variety of options available. While there is always room for improvement in certain areas, the overall quality and service met our expectations. This was my 3rd visit to Tangerine Beach Hotel, and the beachfront location is still absolutely superb! We had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful, grand lobby. A major highlight of our stay was the in-room dining for dinner—the food was absolutely fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed having our meal on the private balcony overlooking the gorgeous sea view.

While we love this hotel, a couple of areas could use some attention. The morning breakfast buffet was just okay this time, and didn't quite live up to the standard of our previous stays However, we had a frustrating experience at checkout. I requested assistance at the lobby to have our bags brought down, but after waiting a very long time in the lobby, I eventually had to go back up and carry our luggage down to the lobby myself. This was the only real disappointment during an otherwise lovely stay.

The breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of fresh, high-quality options to choose from. Everything was delicious, well-presented, and there was something to suit every taste. The room was excellent. Great ocean view. Welcoming staff

The dinner buffet offered a great variety of dishes, but unfortunately, the overall taste didn’t quite match the selection. There is definitely room for improvement in the flavor and quality of some of the dishes. On a positive note, most of the staff were excellent—friendly, attentive, and provided great service throughout the evening.

We had a wonderful stay at this resort. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Location very poor, no facilities. Hotel worn out and not maintained. Not at all a 4 star hotel. Vegetarian indians will regret spending on this hotel as nothing in indian vegetarian in bf and menu has only spring rolls, pasta and pizza in vegetarian options.

Facilities need upgrading - specially the mattresses. Staff - was rude and not friendly to locals. We tried to alter the booking and they were unreasonable. We had to involve booking.com and change it.

Our honeymoon stay at the Tangerine Beach Hotel was truly unforgettable. We had such a lovely time from start. A special thank you to Heshini from the Reservations Department for being so kind, friendly, and professional. Her guidance and warm hospitality made our stay even more special. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and every moment was enjoyable. Thank you for helping us create beautiful memories that we will cherish forever.

The welcome was not that warm, ladies with no smile faces and rude attitudes, i was the main guest but they communicated with the person who came with me The welcome drink was not served just kept on the stool,, no information about the dinar and breakfast time Other issue wash room was small and there was no hand shower It was difficult to use . Schönes altes Hotel, gut gepflegt. Mitarbeiter beim Frühstück sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr gut.

Kein Strand, Bar: 3 Mitarbeiter - 2 Gäste - nach 15 Minuten erhielt man die Karte, die beiden anderen Gäste mussten ihren Drink selbst holen. Es stand nirgendwo etwas von Selbstbedienung… derzeit Bauarbeiten in der Nähe des Pools

While the beach, pool, and buffet were good, the reservation process was incredibly frustrating. The team held up their end of the deal only until they received our advance payment. They explicitly promised sea-view rooms, but we ran into a wall on arrival when they refused to honor it. They ignored countless emails, wasting hours of our time before we even checked in. To make matters worse, the way they handled their mistake made us feel humiliated and disrespected. A good property means nothing if the staff treats paying customers this poorly. I had my wedding here and everything went perfectly. A very special thank you to Ms. Heshanthi from the Banquet Office for the incredible support, guidance, and care she gave us throughout the entire wedding planning process. She handled everything so professionally and warmly, making our special day completely stress-free. I can honestly say I will never forget the support she gave me. The food was delicious, the hotel staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall service exceeded our expectations. All our guests were very happy and enjoyed the celebration so much. I highly recommend Tangerine Beach Hotel for weddings and special events. They truly know how to make a dream wedding come true. Thank you once again for making our day so beautiful and memorable!

Tangerine Beach Resort is a beautiful beach resort. It has many restaurants, souvenir gift shops and other activities that make it an amazing stay. Suranga made our check-in easy and the hotel staff took good care of all our needs. The buffet spread is good too. Definitely worth visiting and recommending.
