Embassy Suites Springfield

This Embassy Suites was very nice. I always enjoy the complimentary drinks during happy hour. The breakfast buffet was good, although some depleted items weren't restocked promptly. Special shout-out to the staff! I accidentally left my prescription medications in the room. I contacted the hotel, and they kept the meds in the lost-and-found. I sent them a shipping label and they mailed them back to me. I really appreciated that!

There was a $17 per night charge for parking. I don't recall that this was mentioned in the description when I booked, and it wasn't mentioned by the receptionist when I checked in. I was surprised to see the charge on my credit card after my stay.

What I didn't like was I got charged for parking my truck under some falsehood that when you walk in the building you're automatically supposed to see a sign no I did not see a sign and I was charged for parking when I was already booked really that's sad and I will never use embassy sweet again

The check in person was extremely rude and would not give us extra towels, even though there were four of us. They did not acknowledge that I was a rewards member, so I didn’t get my points or any extras. The room was dirty and not stocked. The pool was closed by the time we checked in.

Everything was excellent down to property and staff.

I booked two rooms and was only issued one however I was charged by booking for two properties while the property ended up only charging me for one! I have been requesting a refund for the second room for weeks with no response. Booking needs better customer service!!!

Everything was very clean. Beds were so comfortable and room was large. Nice having a kitchenette in the room also. Free breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices, including hot items like eggs, sausage, French toast sticks. Evening reception was nice offering lite snacks and two free drinks from the bar for two adults per room. Staff were friendly, especially the ladies helping guests at breakfast. Also having a restaurant/bar in the hotel was convenient.

The check-in line was horrendous. Arrive a little before 4pm to get a spot in line. The hotel was fully booked so it would have been better to have more than two staff doing check-in. The pool and fitness center is nice but have to take the elevator to 2nd floor, walk down a long hallway, then take another elevator down and there is not a hot tub. Parking costs $17 per day which is annoying but they have to do that unfortunately to keep non-guests from parking in the lot. Cost of parking needs to be cheaper though. We also were not given enough towels and not provided with linens or pillow for the pull out couch bed. Had to wait till almost 9pm to ask the front desk because the check-in line was still so long. Calling the front desk from our room didn’t work as no one answered. The chat option in the app didn’t work either.

The front desk staff was awful. Their system went down when people started to arrive and how they handled it was so unprofessional. We had no idea what was going on, just standing in a long line and then when you got to them they were so rude. We had asked for a crib in advance,which I brought up at the desk and we never got it. They gave us a key to a room someone else already was in and when I went to fix it she didn’t even say sorry just gave me a new room. No one ever came to clean our room even though we were gone most of the day. We called for more towels and trash bags, no one ever came. We had to finally go down and get them. Overall nice hotel, bad front of house staff and managers.

Location and amenities

Kitchen in the suite wasn’t stocked at all. No silverware, no dishes, no dish soap, no paper towels, no glasses. Very strange, but thankfully we’re only there for one night.

Front desk and restaurant staff were professional, courteous, and responsive however, that's where our favorable experience ends. Housekeeping was slacking, we had to call the front desk multiple times to obtain linen for the pull out bed. They never came to empty our trash cans, or provide fresh bathroom towels and face cloths. The room (especially the carpet) was dirty and appeared outdated and unkept. The pool had a strong musty smell, and the extensive use of chlorine made it hard to breath. Our final assessment is relative to the elevators, once the door opened you had to essentially run people over to get in, before the door quickly closed. That in and of itself is a major liabliity. Finally, since we initially booked for a Friday/Saturday stay, and later modified our reservation to include Thursday. Once we checked in/out for Thursday, and obtained new room key cards, one of them wasn't programmed correctly, and unusable. The pull out bed was so uncomfortable (need a better mattress) each morning my son awoke with a stiff back/neck.

The toilet randomly back splashed, when no one had used it for hours. Sometimes in the middle of the night. There is a large area of black dust from the vent in the sitting area. The breakfast was sub par and that's compared to lower star rated hotels. The worst part was that we paid for parking and then, because the parking tag fell out of its place and we disc notice, the tow company they contract with towed our car. Even though we were able to show our parking tag we still paid full price. This hotel should go back to registering guest vehicles. According to locals, the type company used by the hotel is well known in the area for being predatory so you will get no consideration for being a proven paid guest. It's a racket. We will not stay here again.

Had a four night stay in this well-kept, quiet property. This one is a more modern design than the old school Embassy Suites with the giant atrium, and thank god for that--it's much more peaceful. Staff was friendly and accommodating and housekeeping on point. The location is convenient to Alexandria without being right in the middle of a bunch of stuff, so you don't have to worry about there being a bunch of foot traffic around the property. Breakfast is nothing special; I really don't understand the obsession some have with the omelette bar, but I concede it is better than watery powdered eggs. My only complaints are that I couldn't get the A/C as ice cold as I prefer, and that an Ethernet cable and connection was provided but didn't work (I know there's WiFi, but I always prefer plugging in a travel router with its built-in VPN for security).

We spent a night there while traveling south. All was fine with the room and check in experience, where this hotel excelled was in the dining room! We missed happy hour but went down for breakfast and were wowed by the energy, friendliness and competence of the staff. We generally have fairly low expectations for “free” breakfasts but this one far exceeded our past experiences. The food was good, the omelet was excellent and made with skill. It was obviously a well run restaurant from the manager to the hostess to the chef and attendants. Thanks for restoring my faith in Embassy Suites!

Complimentary evening reception was embarrassing. I wouldn’t even call it basic. Minimal choices and no warm food. Heck, the veggie tray didn’t even have carrots.

I was part of a bus tour that stayed the evening of 5/2/26. There were 41 of us. We arrived around 8:00 hungry & tired. About 1/2 of us went immediately to the so called on site restaurant. We waited and waited for someone to come & take orders. Many stood/sat at the bar only to be ignored by the bartender. After over 1/2 hour one waiter finally came out from who knows where & took orders. Eventually he came out with two drinks at a time & no clue who they belonged to. He walked table to table asking until he found where they belong. In total he brought out 4 drinks, that was it. We all continued to wait for beverages & food. 45 minutes later I caught the waiter & told him to cancel my order & I left. I understand the majority customers also left after me. When our tour director tried to talk to the bartender about the situation & that one of the customers was diabetic, he was dismissive. She could also see the kitchen staff laughing at her during this exchange. Clearly those who knew about our bus and two other large parties did not do their job and adequately communicate that so the restaurant could be properly staffed. None the less, the unprofessional behavior of the restaurant staff alone leaves me absolutely unimpressed & I would NEVER stay here again!!

We only stayed for the night. It was as expected. Good night sleep and decent breakfast.

Absolutely awful experience. There is nothing around. Convenient to absolutely nothing. The worst part is that the pool is barely open and there's no indication of this on any of their hotel information/website. We booked so our kids could play in the indoor pool and it wasn't even open. And when approached by multiple families there was no apology or resolution. Don't go here. Go somewhere else.

Diamond Member — Deeply Disappointed As a Hilton Diamond member, I hold Hilton properties to a high standard. Embassy Suites Springfield failed to meet even basic hospitality expectations during our recent stay. We traveled as a family group booking 4 rooms and encountered serious issues throughout our visit. HOUSEKEEPING FAILURE: After the first day, 2 out of 4 rooms was not serviced — despite repeated requests throughout the day. Empty bottles of body wash and hand wash were left in the rooms as-is after service, never refilled or replaced. For a Hilton property at this price point, that is completely unacceptable. EVENING STAFF: The evening front desk staff member was consistently unhelpful, dismissive, and unwilling to assist with even the most basic requests. Every time we approached the front desk during the evening shift, we were turned away or ignored. This is not the Hilton standard I have come to expect as a loyal Diamond member. Our check in women was super rude she did not help through out the whole process of us reaching out multiple times The morning crew was absolutely wonderful — warm, professional, and genuinely willing to help with anything we needed, including providing toiletries like toothpaste. They deserve recognition and are the only reason this isn't a zero-star review. NICKEL-AND-DIMING: When we ordered pizza to the room and asked for disposable plates, we were told we would be charged $2 per plate. For a paper plate. At a full-service Hilton property. That kind of petty upselling is embarrassing for a brand of this caliber. As a Diamond member who has stayed at many Hilton properties, this was one of the most disappointing experiences I have had. I have escalated this to Hilton corporate directly. I would strongly caution families or groups from booking this property.

The hotel itself is beautiful, and many of the staff (front desk, restaurant, etc.) were excellent. Unfortunately, our experience hosting an event here was impacted by significant issues with banquet operations. We were charged for audiovisual services that were not functional when our seminar began. Staff onsite were unable to operate the equipment and acknowledged they were not trained. We had to bring in outside equipment at our own expense to keep the event going. The hotel later refunded the AV charge, but refused to cover the additional cost we incurred due to their failure. Even more concerning was the behavior of the Catering Manager, who was confrontational and unprofessional in front of guests and staff. This included a heated exchange that was visible to attendees and others present, including representatives from a nonprofit organization we were supporting. That level of conduct is not what you expect when hosting a professional event. This property has a lot of potential, but based on this experience, I would be very cautious about hosting an event here without clear assurances around on-site management.

The hotel is clean enough. I booked here for a spring break getaway. There aren’t enough towels or TP in the room even though it’s booked for 4- and the pool is apparently closed Monday to Wednesday. We were not aware of that. It’s only open Thursday to Sunday when I questioned why it was locked.

I stayed at the Embassy Suites in Springfield, VA over the weekend, and my experience was extremely disappointing. At check-in, I was given a parking permit and told I could park in the hotel lot. I properly displayed the permit in my vehicle. However, when I came out around 4:25 AM to check out, my car was gone. After speaking with the front desk, I was eventually told my car had been towed around 3:45 AM because the tow driver claimed there was no permit visible. When I retrieved my vehicle, I found the permit had fallen onto the floor of my car. I have a photo clearly showing the permit inside the vehicle. My windows are not tinted a simple glance inside the car would have shown that I was a legitimate guest. I also tried to provide a receipt to the towing company, which is Dominion towing, but Instead, my vehicle was towed in the middle of the night, and I was forced to pay $270 to get it back. What made this worse was the lack of concern from both the hotel staff and the towing company. There was no urgency, no accountability, and no attempt to make the situation right. Given the location of this hotel in an area where people aren’t randomly parking unless they are guests this situation feels extremely questionable. Towing vehicles in the early morning hours without properly verifying permits creates the impression of a predatory system between the hotel and towing company. I strongly advise future guests to bypass this hotel as this experience was both frustrating and costly.

Stop advertising / renting king efficiencies as one bedroom king suites and charging 50 extra dollars to upgrade what you already have paid for!

I know that's a strange way to title a review but I drove 7 hours to get to this hotel and all I wanted to do was eat and take a shower. The restaurant on site was attended by a very capable team member named Camille. Normally I get the burger or the cheesesteak but she suggested I try the chicken wings. Being from New York the birthplace of chicken wings. I'm usually skeptical about everybody else's wings, but this restaurant knocks it out of the ballpark. These wings were very tasty. Just the right amount of heat. Service was super fast even though the restaurant had quite a few people in it. So it's off to the people behind the scenes as well. As for the shower, it is a full force full shower that most people can only dream of. It was a fitting end to a long drive. Especially navigating route 270 to 495 to 95 South to get to this hotel. The shower was a welcome and satisfying experience. If you stay at this hotel, be sure to take in the restaurant. Top notch staff and food.

The pillows were terrible, no substance at all, and the bed was pretty hard. The parking lot was full of snow and ice and very little clearing was done to allow for parking or walking.

The suites in lobby are gorgeous. Friendly, helpful staff. Fitness center 24 hours a day but pool is closed till March. Free breakfast. There is a parking charge. Some of the vents in the room are loud as air comes out. Modern furniture and appliances. Looks huge from the outside and close to everything that you would need.

This hotel is wonderful. So much to praise! I visited for a corporate meeting and as soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by several staff members welcoming me. I am only a Gold member and they treated me as if I was a Diamond Elite! The rooms are so nice I could move in there! The restaurant was amazing, the banquet staff....amazing even engineering greeted me at one point. I was so impressed, I started taking names. These are just a few of the employees that I could get their names: Cassandra Lopez, Valentina Meija Carmen Rivera, Dino Delgadillo, Brandy Gonzales, Mohammad Qureshi, Suraya Abdulahi and Richard Hicks. My Star was the Chef....Chef Byron Molina. I eat my meat well done and he did not make any remarks like I usually get. He cooked it perfect. Came to my table and introduced himself and asked how my dinner was. WOW!!! Ever in the area....your loss if you don't stay here!

It's a nice place to relax and, at the same time, conduct my business. The place was nice and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. The restaurant was inside the building, and the breakfast was delicious.
