Whanganui Seaside Holiday Park

Our unit was clean, comfortable and well supplied.

The wifi sucked. We had to go to the communal kitchen to hook up our devices. They were slow once we went back to our unit. First night we had Netflix on the TV then wifi made it unwatchable last two nights.

The Team enjoyed their stay.

Had the best rest and sleep! With a Bed so comfortable and shower pressure to relax are thee combo for a great unbroken sleep. Wi-fi isn't the best but it suited me fine as it restricted me from doing work and allowed me to rest and just be... Gratitude for the stay and rest I didn't realize I required until I received it...

This park was great! We stayed for almost a year in our bus while saving for our house deposit, the amenities were outstanding the whole time and the staff I can't speak of highly enough, we'll definitely come again, thanks team

Our cabin with bathroom including a good shower, double bed, TV, wifi, fridge, heater, microwave and tea & coffees making facilities. The black sand beach is at the end of the street and is an ideal spot to enjoy the sunset and on a clear day views of Mt Taranaki. A large play area is also a short walk.

The wifi wasn’t the greatest but otherwise very happy with our stay.

We’re out on streets now after paying for our stay. There was a power shortage at the stay. We called the manager, she came in and started shouting at us for charging our car from the stay. She accused us for the power outage was due to us charging our car. It was not true, the charger I used was a certified home charger from BYD. On top of that, she could not accommodate us somewhere else. She was not empathetic at all. She took photos of my car, my drivers license and said you’ll have to pay for all the repairs. I asked if I can get alternative accommodation, because I was with my wife and two daughters. She said it was my fault and have to stay there in cold. I’m 100% sure, the power outage was due to something else, because our charger is a home charger and our units mains did not even trip. We paid for the stay and now we’re on streets heading home (6hrs drive ) to Auckland overnight with my family.

Batteries in the remote needs changing. Other than that. Nothing I didn’t like.

We absolutely love this seaside camp ground. We have stayed many times with our caravan, facilities are fabulous, clean and tidy. Powered site rates are good value. The staff are amazing, so friendly more than happy to help. A great location to the beach with a dairy, cafe/restaurant and art gallery close by.

We were warm and comfortable. The sauna and plunge pool were a total bonus. A large number of us had gathered for an event at the wonderful Duncan Pavilion at the beach and really enjoyed debriefing around the awesome firepit long into the night.

It was nice and close to whanau we went to visit, the playground and beach next door and the toilet and shower block was nice and close to our unit.

A tidy campsite, well run, friendly staff and clean, well-supplied facilities. Location: short walk to the beach, dairy across the road and a local restaurant. Not so good was the proximity to a fairly busy road - traffic noise, especially from the 'boy-racer/loud exhaust' brigade detracted from the experience. Campsites are flat, grass and well maintained. Overall a pleasant place for a beach break.

Nothing it was perfect

We had a really enjoyable stay at Whanganui Seaside Holiday Park recently. Easy access for large caravan, lovely hosts, clean facilities, a large entertainment area with an open fire and fully equipped kitchen. Super quiet and close to the beach. 10/10.

Friendly family run vibe with beautifully maintained facilities and some quirky personal touches, which added to the welcome. Good location for beach walks with nearby restaurant - perfect combination!

Great experience as always. Love the facilities, cabin is always clean and comfortable. We had a request to check in a bit earlier than originally expected and they accommodated us without a problem. Will definitely go back again.

I loved everything about this place. Staff are so friendly. Such a nice place to take your family, spacious and just so handy for families as right beside big park and beach. The rooms and unit were very comfortable.

The pool being closed. The whole point was for our team to be able to recover after their bball in the pool. Sucky we still paid what we did for that being closed.

Fridge wasn’t working and owner didn’t know there was an unlabelled wall switch that had been turned off. No coat hangers provided for hanging clothes on hooks on door. No where to put toothbrushes in bathroom. There are good motels in town for the same cost but not available that night.

Really enjoyed our stay in the cozy Tackle Box. It's just big enough for a queen bed, bedside tables, and a storage unit of shelves, drawers and a cabinet. The unit held a kettle, plunger, cups and saucers, tea, instant coffee, hot chocolate, a tetra pack of milk, toaster, plates, bowls, cutlery, tea towel, cloth, and a fan. And there was still room to store some of our things. The comfortable bed had crisp new sheets. There were two towels, two wash cloths, and two bars of soap. The camp lounge and kitchen were nearby as were the toilets and showers. There were a few shops nearby and the beach is a short walk away. All in all a very comfortable stay!

Spacious feeling with unit being stand alone.

The location was awesome, our cabin was perfect for our little family, the beach was in walking distance perfect, the whole site was clean and great.

We turned up late which was a fault of our vehicle breaking down and we didn't know what cabin we were in but we called Natasha and she directed us to where we were supposed to be which we were grateful for.

Cabin was a good size. Very clean and comforable.

More facilities for kids would suit better. A jumping pillow would be a hit for the park and campers. Seems to be an issue locally with balaclava dirtbike riders and no policing of this whatsoever. A second television in the main bedroom would be great!

Das Bad war sehr klein, wenn die Tür nicht ins Bad aufginge, sondern nach außen in den wohn-küchen-bereich, dann wäre mehr Platz im Bad. Zu dieser Zeit schon ein bisschen kühl, der Elektro-Heizer hat es am nächsten Morgen wettgemacht

Cute cabin. Five minutes walk to the beach but a nice quiet location. Friendly staff. Generally quiet guests. Neat, newish bathroom and a kitchen with everything you would want. Small cupboard/wardrobe in each bedroom. Plenty of bathroom storage.

Both bedrooms in our cabin were tiny - barely big enough for a double bed.

Spent 3 nights here across the vintage weekend and really enjoyed it with access to the beach where there was an Airshow. Facilities good and clean. Site felt relaxed

We had a fabulous stay! We are already planning our next trip back. The kids loved it!

Was nice and quiet, beds were comfortable.

There were webs in the corners of the bathroom. There were also ants on floor and ceiling in bathroom. This was upon arrival.

The two bedroom cabin was better with cooking and lavatory/ showering facilities.

Four of us were assigned two single cabins and one double. Each single cabin was a large room with multiple beds and bunks. No sink. Washing and lavatory facilities were in a nearby communal block. It wasn't especia.ly cheap just for a bed for one.

We visit with our tent every year in February and once again we had a lovely stay. Had a couple of nights of very bad weather in the middle of our stay and Tash was exceptionally helpful and put us up in a cabin to weather the storm; then tent back up for 3 nights. We love the vibe of this campground, the staff and the facilities. The swimming pool is awesome. Thank you for another very enjoyable stay. P.S. We are going back for a 3 night stay in a motel in March :-)

Great location near the beach. Friendly and easy reception, good large site for campervan, nice atmosphere. Kitchen and showers/toilets very good. A bit of boy racer noise but calmed down by midnight.

Myself and my 3 children where on the way home from Wellington when the weather extremely terrible all roads got closed down and we needed somewhere to sleep for the night. This was the cheapest we could find on short notice. The staff where absolutely beautiful and caring, the grounds where lovely maintained even the the pool was closed it still looked like a nice place to cool off. The bathroom facilities where very clean and pleasant to use the showers very great hot water and great pressure. We would definitely stay again

It is a smaller camp with very good facilities, kitchen, laundry and clean and regularly maintained toilets. It is suitable for tents and caravans, with adequate space for sitting next to the car and with an available electricity connection. Due to its smaller size it is quiet and provides real relaxation. The beach is about 5 minutes away from the camp. Good and nice place. I recommend it.

We camped there with our camper van and enjoyed the location, clean bathrooms, and friendly hospitality. It is right along the beach, and close to many things in town too.

Our cabin was cute, clean and well equipped.

We had a bad trip up and the car broke down. When we got there they were all smiles. They listened and then helped us get to the cabin. We had an excellent stay. The sounds of the beach were awesome. There were no complaints with anyone. We are going back but are bringing more family with us. Thank you for a great stay.

Rubbish found under beds and behind sofa, dirty socks under the bed so hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned but surfaces etc was all clean so this was minor.

Clean, friendly and close to beach, playground and cafe. Great indoor and outdoor dining area.

We liked the location. It was 5 minutes to the park and 6 minutes to the beach. The place itself had everything. Loved the pool and BBQ area.

After accidentally booking for the wrong week, the owner kindly resorted my booking and got me a an upgraded room for the night. This gave me tome to make other arrangements, as Whanganui was fully booked out at the weekend. The room was very cute, small but had absolutely everything I needed to relax & be comfortable.

Location next to beach was nice.

The bed in the cabin was so hard and uncomfortable. The sheets were dirty with brown marks. The cutlery wasnt washed properly. The cabin smelt musty.

We had a powered site and this camp was one of the most well set out clean tidy places we've stayed absolutely beautiful clean spotless facilities
