The hotel is a beautiful old house well-located in the historic part of Melaka, surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and gorgeous boutique shops - we definitely recommend Calanthe Art Café, a café selling products made by local artists just across the street from the hotel. Our room, on the ground floor, was a good size and very comfortable. We very much appreciated the bathrobes and slippers which were provided, as well as the free toiletries. Staff at reception were very helpful and friendly.

We thought that by paying extra for the "super deluxe" room, we would be getting the best room and maybe larger. The only difference was that it had a window right out onto an incredibly busy and noisy street! So not worth the extra $$$. Avoid Room 201 at all costs. They need to put soundproofing into that room! In fact it was so noisy that we couldn't sleep in there so we asked to be moved to a quieter room with a "Courtyard view" and it was much quieter. They wouldn't refund the difference though, which I was not happy about.

Oa pas eu de chance , on a eu la pire chambre avec la Clim qui fait un bruit pas possible, une grande fenêtre sans rideau qui donne sur le couloir qui est éclairé toute la nuit, et des toilettes avec une odeur de pipi et la porte c’est juste un petit truc en bois donc aucune intimité. On a rien dit parce qu’on est pas des gens difficiles, mais le pire c’est que 2h après être partie de l’hôtel je reçois un message du concierge sur whats app avec une photo d’une marque sur un drap qu’on avait soi disant fait. Cette photo sortait clairement de nulle part et en plus un drap ça se lave. Du coup ils ont gardé la caution qui était de 100myr. Gros foutage de gueule franchement 😅

Great Location, easy walking distance from everything going on in the middle of the town though just off one of the main streets and back from it all.

The location was close to the main attractions. Bed and shower were very good.

The room was small and one part of the wall only had a shutter, no window, so it was quite noisy. No breakfast available.

Great location. Nice and clean.

Wifi was bad, except in the lobby, where it worked perfectly. Alarms go off on your door if you still have your card inserted for electricity. Noise from guests in the internal lobby drifts upstairs, so can be noisy if you are in rooms 201 or 202.

Lovely little place in a great location. Lucky to have the back room with the balcony and view of the river.

Notre chambre en second jour sans volet sur la partie haute de la fenêtre donc bcp de lumière très tôt et notre chambre était juste à côté des WC de l’hôtel donc réveillés par la chasse d’eau et les bruits de la réception….

The location was great. Parking was very limited, luckily we got a parking spot right behind the hotel, and its free! Room is good and clean. Bathroom is clean too, and updated. Shampoo, shower gel, soap, shower cap...etc are provided. But they need to provide newer towels because they are all yellowish/grayish.

Location - fantastic! Smack in Jonker St. Carpark - free and access from rear road so will not be jammed. WhatsApp the hotel to arrange. Staff - Fantastic service. Friendly staff.

My room is 201 and facing the road where motorcycles vroom pass until 4am on a Sat night There is no toothbrush/toothpaste and comb. Shampoo and bath gel only 1 tube each that is barely enough for 1 person, although we can ask for more at reception.

I’d suggest don’t give the balcony room at the back to families, the doors are shutters really so it was really noisy from the street below so we switched rooms to one down the corridor.

Er was een hard zoemend/piepend geluid in de kamer dat de hele nacht aanhield. Dat was erg storend en maakte het lastig om in slaap te vallen. Verder was de accommodatie helaas niet erg flexibel met de data. Wij kwamen een dag eerder aan en wilden ook een dag eerder vertrekken. Ondanks dat moesten we de laatste dag toch volledig betalen.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. We got ourself a parking as per the booking. Very close to Jonker Walk and has a very good ambience.

The property collected deposit much earlier before we arrived. I believe this was not the appropriate way but the deposit already deducted from our card without any notification. I only got to know when I want to check-in. And be prepared to pay more than what was shown on Booking.com, whereby this was only told at the counter during check-in. This is the kind of surprises that will kill the holiday mood.

This is an exceptional boutique hotel. I expected something much less, but I got what I told friends a 5-star treatment. I recommend this place highly.

For the money I paid, I got more than I should.

THe hotel location was excellent. It is within walking distance to all the places that we wanted to explore - be it for the meals (cafes, restuarants) and cultural places like museums. Jonker street is just less than a 5min stroll/walk away. The room is clean and big enough, comfortable to stay - we did not stay in the room but just for resting at the end of the day or to unload our tibits, goodies shopping bags and to stay away from the heat (room air conditioner is strong). Didn't take the hotel breakfast too since there are so many nice cafes along the street. Parking is easy and free too at the back of the hotel but is limited so may be problematic if is during peak period. Room wifi is working well too. Friendly staff and easy to communicate in english.

The water pressure from the rain shower head iwould be better if is stronger. The drinking water bottles are not replenished daily. It is limited to 2 bottles per stay regardless of no of night stays. Pilows in my own standard are too low and soft but they provided 4 pillows and 2 cushions to make up for it. Overall I would still say the stay is a commfortable one.

The Piilows , quilt and towels are very old and should be replaced with new ones. Look like not clean. The door locks are somewhat broken and there is no sense of security.

Très bien situé dans Chinatown dans une jolie maison chinoise. Chambre bien équipée, douche spacieuse. Très calme, donnant sur un patio intérieur. .

Das Hotel liegt in der Altstadt in einer Parallelstraße zur Jonker Street. Zu Fuß sind es nur ca. 2-3 Minuten zur Jonker Street, zum Fluss Ufer mit vielen Restaurants, zum Hard Rock Cafe oder zum roten Platz. Wir hatten das Zimmer direkt über dem Eingang zur Straße hin und haben super gut geschlafen. Man hört zwar, wenn mal ein Motorrad vorbei knattert, das hat uns aber nicht gestört. Das Zimmer war klein, aber sehr zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Alles da was man braucht.

Für das Bad wurde ein Teil des Zimmers abgetrennt und es ist zum Zimmer hin offen. Da die Lüftung gut funktioniert war das aber kein Problem.

Location was excellent for the Old Town.

Fantastic location, easy to walk around Malaka from the hotel. Staff are fantastic and will go above and beyond to help you.

More storage space for bags would be great, felt like we were stepping over them a lot.

Location is unbeatable. Walking distance to all the historical sites, museums, restaurants and the river. Our room was in the back -- so we had a little balcony overlooking the river.

The room could use a ceiling fan so that we don't have to turn the air-con on all the time.

L’hôtel est idéalement placé dans Malacca ! Tout peut se faire à pieds. Les chambres sont très jolies, rien à redire.

A very comfortable 3 night stay in lovely Melacca. The central and quiet location is perfect for exploring the historic centre of the city and near many good cafes and restaurants. Highly recommended.

The room was very small but enough for one person. No Lift was a Hugh problem as I have a bad back.

Proche des centres d'intérêt. Douche séparé des wc. Chambre et toilette confortable.

Ne pas pouvoir fumer à l éxtérieure du bâtiment. On me l' a interdit et 2 min plus tard un employé se fume sa clope assis sur le banc sous le panneau interdicrion de fumer. Deux poids deux mesure... Sinon un petite odeur d'humidité dans la chambre.

The location is great, right in the heart of old town Melaka. Everything is within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with very efficient air conditioning.

The room itself was tiny. It was ok for one person but would be very small for a couple. The room was in the first floor and there is no lift, as this hotel is more like a house.

Perfect. Location, comfortable, good value, good staff.

Not an issue for me as I was a solo traveller, but the smaller rooms may be too small for two people + luggage.

Mooi hotel met veel hout. Goed schoon, fijne douche en heerlijk bed! Service was goed, conciërge erg aardig en de locatie is echt ideaal. Net een straatje achter de drukkere straten. Leuk museum in de straat.

Er is geen ontbijt mogelijk. Dit kan wel waarde toevoegen aan het hotel.

ちょっと歩けばジョンカーウォークに出られるところ。夜市を楽しむことができてよかった。 チェックインの際に飲み物をいただけた。ハチミツのような味がした。 Grabの出発点にも設定できるのでチェックアウトしてすぐにマラッカ海峡モスクに向かうなんてこともできる。

歯ブラシがないので要持参。 外からの音がほぼ丸聞こえ。夜の11時ぐらいでも外の賑やかな音が聞こえてくるので耳栓を持参することをおすすめする。 エレベーターがないのでスーツケースを降ろすのが大変（チェックインの時はスタッフの方が運んでくださった）。

O hotel é extremamente bem localizado, sendo possível visitar a cidade de Melacca a pé. As camas eram boas e o quarto bem espaçoso.

Não ter a opção de café da manhã.

Camere pulite e letto molto ampio e comodo. Molto bello e abbastanza spazioso il bagno, tutto in marmo: sembra di stare in un hammam. La posizione è ottima: proprio in centro ma in una strada tranquilla. Ottimo per me che viaggiavo da sola.

Purtroppo, trattandosi di un'abitazione tradizionale, le stanze sono davvero molto piccole (nonostante il letto enorme) e non c'è spazio per poggiare nulla.

Het was een enorm fijn hotel met zeer vriendelijk personeel en propere kamers. Compact maar alles wat je nodig hebt. De ligging is perfect om het centrum te ontdekken.

I liked the location very much indeed. It was great. The staff were nice, and friendly.

My room was very small the lock on the door was very difficult to open and to lock. I asked if perhaps some WD40 could be applied and, although they said they had looked at it and done that, it was still very difficult to operate. I didn't dare lock it from the inside in case I couldn't then get out! Also, the television didn't work at all...

Location was excellent. We had the only room with a balcony which was a real bonus.

Most of the staff were indifferent and after check in mostly ignored us when we came in and left the hotel. We stayed during a weekend so it was pretty noisy. 2 small bottles of water on arrival. Charged for refills. Found medication (pills) under the telephone on one of the bedside tables. Informed the hotel and received standard response.

櫃檯的小姐很親切，工作人員都很友善。 地點離雞場街很近很方便，但因為太靠近熱區所以出入都是堵車的狀態。

房間所有白色相關備品都是白灰色的，實在有點😅，建議自己帶洗臉毛巾。 因為是老房子，對聲音敏感的要自備耳塞。

Самый центр, но тихо, нет шумных ресторанов и музыки рядом. Кровать мягкая, в общем удобная. В комнате чисто, кондеционер работал хорошо, приятно что его можно оставить работать, когда уходишь.

Размер комнаты крошечный. Два человека и два чемоднана было тесно. Застиранные старые серые полотенца.

Great location - really central to the old part of town.

Very small room. No breakfast available at the hotel (though we found a really good cafe just around the corner). Also, they took 100 Baht as a deposit against the state of the room, and 3 weeks after our stay they have not yet refunded it to my Visa card as they had promised. Although that’s only £18, so not overly important, it is annoying, and I would advise anyone else staying there to take care to pay the room deposit in cash, so that you can be sure to get it back as you check out!

Comfortable bed and a great shower. I loved our balcony with the view. Location is excellent. The a/c worked very well. Coffee and tea and water provided in room.

The staircase is narrow and steep, for information purposes.
