This was a return stay as last year was great, was not disappointed on our return
Nothing
Large, beautiful room with a comfortable bed overlooking the pond. The pub kitchen food was nice and we were able to order room service to dine in our room.
Our room was directly over the beer garden so there was some noise into the night, which, to be fair, can be expected at a pub.
Nice room, comfy bed, Dinner & Breakfast all good standard
Perfect for our needs. Pub with rooms and lovely outside space. Staff exceptionally good - covering for normal staff who were at a training day - would use the Young’s group again.
Menu / Drinks Cards - very poor almost impossible to read - type face tiny and too fancy Wine list with mixed up price list £80+ bottles hidden amongst £30ish bottles - would be easy to order expensive wine in error - and I do have perfect eyesight - had to photograph and enlarge type - probably some marketing strategy to look more fancy but pub grub is still pub grub and actually the food was very good.
De pub super gezellig en heerlijk eten! Kamers verder prima alles aanwezig
Beautifully decorated, the rooms were really comfortable and clean. Located in a beautiful setting. The food in the restaurant was delicious.
Comprehensive and quality in-room facilities.
Shortage of starter options from the dinner menu (bank holiday week-end rush was given as the reason)
Lovely friendly and helpful staff. In particular we met Britt, Scarlett and Jonathan, who all did their best to make sure our stay was exceptional. Our stay coincided with my birthday and we had a large family group in for Sunday lunch. The food quality was excellent, the waiting staff were exceptional, and it made for a memorable birthday celebration.
In our room it seemed that every detail had been carefully considered to make it as comfortable and luxurious as possible. We were therefore a bit disappointed to find that the pillows provided on the bed were flat and a bit uncomfortable. To be fair, once we reported this to staff, they ensured that fresh pillows of a better quality were provided for our second night.
Staff were very friendly
Food not too bad but my breakfast was cold
The design of the suite itself was lovely — modern, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. The large windows offered a beautiful view of the lake, which was one of the highlights of the stay and made the room feel calm and inviting. The shower was powerful with consistently hot water, and the room was spotlessly clean. In terms of presentation and cleanliness, we genuinely couldn’t fault it. A few members of staff were also very professional and helpful, and their manner was appreciated. Gorgeous smelling products made available for guests to use in the rooms.
The reception booth is located inside the main pub, and because it was so busy, we struggled to hear the staff member checking us in. It would have made far more sense for reception to be placed in the quieter lobby area leading up to the rooms. We were also asked to pay a £30 deposit “in case we ran off with the TV.” I’ve never had to do this in any hotel I’ve stayed in, and it felt unnecessary and excessive. Breakfast was tasty, but at £13.50 it was overpriced. It was the smallest full breakfast I’ve ever been served — a large bowl of baked beans dominating the plate, while the sausage and bacon were tiny, and the mushroom was diced so finely it barely resembled a portion. It didn’t feel like value for money. The bed was uncomfortable, and I woke up with backache. It was clearly two single beds pushed together rather than a proper double. The honesty bar was overpriced, and I strongly suspect the £30 deposit was actually to cover bar use rather than any concern about the TV. For a suite, the complimentary tea and coffee selection was minimal, and a couple of biscuits would have been a simple, reasonable touch considering the room price. As we were gathering our things to leave, we received a knock on the door at one minute to 11am — . It felt like we were being hurried out. My husband explained to the housekeeper that the knock wasn’t necessary as we were already aware of the checkout time. The housekeeper became argumentative, which left us feeling pressured and uncomfortable
This place exceeded our expectations, after a very last minute reservation they were able to provide both a travel cot and dog bed, for a very late arrival. The staff were brilliant and extremely helpful, the room was large, very comfy, had all the amenities, good size bathroom. The property surroundings are great, a large garden area where dogs are welcome, as well as walking trails close by to stretch the legs. Breakfast was great, would highly recommend this property.
Nothing to add here
The room I was ok incredible hot shocking no air condition. Very noice with bark dog very early in the morning. I ask to he change the room inside the pub. Much better but very shocking hot no air condition how they can ask the price knowing there is no air conditioning. Very disappointed and uncomfortable to sleep in the night
Very clean and tidy loved the decor

Staff were beyond helpful. All very polite and accommodating. Room was immaculate with everything we needed. Will be back in a few months.
Coming home
Location. Bar and Restaurant and outside area
The room was lovely, the staff very professional and friendly, the food was excellent
Nothing (perhaps some muesli style of breakfast cereal to be added to the lovely selection would be nice)
A beautiful location, The food was amazing, A wonderful atmosphere, very accommodating staff made all the better by first class service, thank you Britt for making my stay a memorable one. Definitely recommend this establishment. Martin
Great stay as always and thankyou to Britt for the exceptional service! Always very helpful!
Great food and lovely service from Jennifer our waitress.
I needed a hotel with a twin room between Windsor and Guildford and I got very lucky with Worplesdon Place Hotel! Really lovely place to stay and our room was beautiful!! I stayed with my sister and we both agreed we’d find a reason to return. The food was delicious (we had lunch, dinner and breakfast) and they catered very well to a gluten free diet. Dog-friendly, lovely staff and a very comfortable room where I slept very well.
Location and comfort
A huge thank you to Kate for making our stay so incredible. She was attentive and welcoming from the very first moment I walked through the door. Her extra touches truly made our experience special, will be back!
Thoroughly enjoyed an overnight stay at this venue which hosted an engagement party for a very special couple. The super warm and engaging welcome by Josh continued across the weekend. The party space was perfect and the staff helped to make the entire experience a special and memorable one. Thank you.
Fantastic outdoor area overlooking a small lake. The hotel was very accommodating for dogs, with a dog bed provided in the room, and a box containing various treats/essentials for our furry friends. We had a ground floor room in the hotel annex which had a patio door at the rear providing access to part of the hotel grounds. The room was larger than expected with a modern bathroom. A tray containing several packets of crisps, nuts and spicy sausage sticks was provided in the room, although anything used from this tray did need to be paid for at check out. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality.
Nothing
Very quiet relaxed atmosphere, location was excellent with plenty parking. I brought my family for a meal and it was enjoyed by all.
Good base for a few days golfing in Surrey. The room I had was quite small but perfectly adequate, comfortable and clean. Dinner and breakfast were very good. Staff were all excellent, attentive and efficient.
Location
The standard of the hotel
I have stayed here previously. Always had a good experience. However on this occasion I was relegated to room 19, which was poor. Window latches were broken. Bathroom was not cleaned to anticipated standard (residue and hair in the shower, floor was ‘sticky’), and the shower was barely weak and barely functional, with clearly visible mould. The room was roasting hot (no AC) and the fan provided was noisy and ineffective. It needs some TLC! If you are going to take a room here avoid rooms that don’t overlook the carpark
The family was well looked after for a birthday lunch. Fabulous fish, roast dinners in a very nice environment. Kira was very knowledgeable and considerate. It made it special.
The superior room was literally a “bed room” and extremely small. The shower was such a small chamber it was impossible to actually bend to pick up the soap. The window in the bathroom could not be opened and with no air conditioning it was an extremely hot unpleasant night . We were charged an additional £30 for extras we did not take or use and not reimbursed despite contacting the hotel .
We stayed 1 night as a family with adult children & wives and a baby .loads of parking & stunning grounds with a lake. It's a large pub with rooms, check in was quick and room was pleasant, clean & tidy. Toiletries all in room & plush towels. It was during the heatwave & the small fan was not enough for me so maybe future plans could think of AC? the pub was very busy when we arrived & Dinner was lovely but took ages (over an hour) Breakfast the next morning was amazing & Kate took charge of hot drinks & food orders for 10 of us! All wanting different 😂 . Breakfast was very good She was welcoming to other guests and very attentive to us. We were due back at the worplesdon later that day for a wake & Kate showed us the room & ran through arrangements first thing, this helped our Daughter in law to be at ease and was friendly and 100% professional. We arrived back from the funeral & Kate was on hand with help, support & a friendly face. Kate and the team were super helpful & she asked was there anything she could do before she left her shift. Kate made our day so much easier. The buffet was so good, the chef did a great job especially with warm scotch eggs , cheese straws & sausage slices , yummy. Would recommend this as a future stay.
Kate was excellent, went over and above when hosting a Wake to help the family
Location good room lovely staff lovely. It’s like going home! Thank you.
Terrible experience ... the room for three nights was £453 I had to climb over my husband to get in and out of bed. There was no where to put anything so we just left suitcase on the floor and worked from that each day. The bathroom was a joke ... you had to work your way in through the door around the sink ... the radiator was covered in rust and dirt ... all in all a total rip off and a lesson learnt ... never go back and do not recommend
Not a lot
Everything … room was awful … bathroom was awful … view from room was awful … breakfast was ok ish !!! how they could justify £453 for three nights I will never know … I will never ever put a foot in this place again … photos show view from our window … old discarded coffee cups and lids, dead plants … also shown a huge cobweb in our bedroom
Convenient location
Room right next to rear kitchen door which was left open. Loud noise from well into the night
Spacious excellent menu and service
In a annexe outside the main building very near a back entrance to the kitchen or scullery which was intermittently noisy until about 11.30 pm
The public areas, bar and park are lovely
The food was not good quality and it was expensive. One room had a mattress that smelt strongly of urine. It was dry but unpleasant to sleep on.
We love staying here and the staff are fantastic, but we thought that, on this occasion, standards were nothing like we’d come to expect. Our bathroom had not been cleaned - the shower tray had grubby marks, the toilet had not been cleaned, the floor had not been swept/washed nor had the floor in the bedroom area been properly vacuumed, and the towels left in the shower after our first night had not been removed or replaced. And finally, for 2 days in succession, no toilet rolls were available in the ladies in the pub/testaurant. And definitely finally, the food was not up to its usual standard. But we really do love staying here
At the beginning of July we stayed at Worplesdon Place for a night. This was not our first stay here. We stayed here a couple of years ago and we had a pleasant stay at that time. However, this time a triple room was not available and we were given two rooms (a double and a twin far from each other). However, there isn’t much privacy when you opt to open. The bathroom is not big, but the shower is a good size one. The grounds are beautiful, there is ample parking space inside the premises and the pub/restaurant are nice. Food is a bit pricy but good and the staff is nice and friendly.
The rooms were small, hot and stuffy, especially the one on the first floor. The twin one was on the ground floor, next to the kitchen. You need to walk from outside the bulding in a kind of alley next to the rubbish area which didn't smell nice. It was not so quiet but had a door facing the gardens which you could open to let in some fresh air. There is no shelf/counter space in the bathroom. There were also a lot of ants in the room. There is not much privacy when checking in and out in the restaurant area and didn't feel like valued customer. Restaurant/ hotel Manager was very busy serving customers at the bar rather than oversee daily operations and coordinating staff.
Such a lovely bedroom
Great staff and great bedroom
The hotel was really nice and our bedroom was super. Really well decorated with a comfortable bed. It was good to have a proper fridge with real milk. Although it was stocked with tempting but incredibly expensive goodies which we managed to resist. The only downside was the extremely poor breakfast. The choice of cereals was limited to rice crispies or cornflakes. The fruit selection was whole apples or grapes. Coffee was made individually for us all in a machine behind the bar. There was no butter on any of the 3 days we stayed. When we asked for something to go our toast, jam, peanut butter etc we were told they didn’t have anything like that. In the end we went out and bought our own. The bagels our friend had with his eggs Benedict were straight from the packet, untoasted. It was very strange given that the food from the restaurant for the rest of the day was delicious.
Grounds also room v quite
Despite agreeing an arrival time our room was not ready when we arrived
The location, the building, the grounds, the staff
Stayed one night during the heatwave, but room was very cool and facilities were all good., good selection of meal choices and drinks available.
Breakfast was really lovely, good choice and cooked to order. Check in was smooth and efficient
There wasn't really anything we didn't like. Place was clean and tidy, room was a decent size, and the bed was really comfortable
Lovely bar, garden and rooms tastefully decorated
Nothing
Very poor, very slow service in dining room. We had two evening meals and both bad slow service though food was excellent. Breakfast first day was very good with a very nice cheerful woman, but second bad. The girls talked among themselves far too much, hardly anything on buffet table either, tables not cleared. Very good experience however when we wanted to change rooms as first room was small and not good. We changed to a suite more expensive but worth every penny. We have stayed before and last time it was excellent hence why we booked again - but really won’t book again - we were there for a golf competition which is held every year
The room was adequate The premises/grounds were nice.
Room a bit dirty. It did not appear to be cleaned from the night before as residual food remained in the room as well as dirty coffee cups. The heating system was in the room and upper floor resulting in neglected dying plants in upper hallway. The room was boiling because the radiators were all on and we couldn’t turn them off. We had the air conditioner on also because the the weather was warm. Postcards but no pen in room. The restaurant had run out of avocados when we ordered them for breakfast. We then requested 2 vegetarian breakfasts and they served us one veg and one non veg so had to send one back. By the time they brought the second veg breakfast one of us had already finished eating. Poorly staffed. Reception desk located in pub/restaurant area so the reception staff had to double up as the person at the bar behind the counter…. Resulting in poor and slow service. I was only there for two nights and would not stay there again
Disappointed in the restaurant. Food was late and over cooked.
I only stayed one night & it was lovely. I have stayed in lots of hotels in the U.K. & abroad. This one was the best in every aspect I can think of. I will definitely stay there again!
Pet friendly, patio rooms made it so easy with dogs and elderly mum. When she wandered the staff were amazing, thank you all. Sadly realise hotels will not be suitable for her going forward bar family rooms perhaps. Lovely setting , spacious. Room comfortable and shower good.
Very busy as father's day, and meat in roast was a little tough. But vegetables lovely.
Beautiful property and lovely garden, perfect to relax with family and friends. Food was excellent and the staff where friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.
Kate works her arse off the girl deserves a raise she is very polite and friendly and the rest of the staff ignored us and are very rude and made us feel like a inconvenience
I gave this a five star rating for the simple fact that my room was well appointed, beautifully decorated, excellent value for money and perfectly sized for someone travelling solo. It had lovely complimentary tea and coffee with fresh milk in the mini bar fridge (always a winner) and an honesty bar should you fancy a snack or glass of wine in your room. I needed somewhere to stay on the way to a work function after a day at Ascot, so wasn’t there for long (can’t comment on dinner or breakfast), but it had a lovely view over a fantastic looking beer garden and river with mature trees in the distance - I bet this is a great atmosphere on a summer’s day. Brekky was set out and did look good as I was checking out, so was sorry to miss it. Hope to return one day.
Prachtige tuin Mooie victoriaanse inrichting. Heerlijk eten
Mag iets schoner
We had our wedding at Worplesdon Place on the 9th May this year and it was absolutely spectacular. The venue room (we had the Garden room) was gorgeous, the food was incredible, and the vibe Imogen and Team helped to create for the day was just unmatched. From the get go of planning, Imogen was easy to contact and always got back to us quickly as well as being very kind, patient and creative. Any questions we had were answered clearly, no matter how many we had! I left the table decorations completely to Imogen on a very fast paced, stressful morning, and she knocked it out of the park. All of the staff were so excited for us on the morning which made the biggest impact. My bridesmaids and I stayed the night before and the rooms, specifically the feature room and boutique room, were amazing. Considering it was the night before my wedding, I had the best night sleep and so did the girls! Since the wedding, we have been there for dinner and as always the food is just amazing and so is the service by all the lovely staff. We would recommend coming to Worplesdon Place whether it's for lunch, dinner, or a wedding!!
room was fine lunch lovely breakfast good
had to change room as ants were coming in room change was a lot of noise from fans outside bedroom window all night had no sleep
Location, gardens, parking, style, comfort
Dinner: Linguini not great Breakfast: Avocado Sourdough a little cool, not buttered and eggs a bit over - but all generous
Stayed here recently when attending meeting nearby for work, easy check in and good meal on the evening. Would recommend if in the area.
good value. welcoming and helpful staff (esp the bar manger?). comfortable room
Fish and chips were dramatically over cooked or prepared too early and kept warm too long Small refresh of room would handy as no in built in USB sockets for phone charging
Good value hotel with friendly and helpful bar staff. Bar maanger was very accommodating. Bar was amazingly busy for a Wednesday night (which was a good thing btw) so proves doing something right. Rooms comfortable and clean, though minor gripe as could do with a couple of inbuilt USB charges Unfortunately two of us had fish and chips which as served up either massively overcooked or under the heat lamp too long if prepared too early. We commented when asked if everything was OK and were rather blanked.
Clean and well presented with a comfy mattress.
Being behind the pub was a bit noisy in the early morning.
Good food and comfortable beds. Lovely location.
Poor location of room next to the main internal staircase and noise from kitchen extract system. Also disturbance from late night building work after midnight on two consecutive nights.
Friendly staff, large bedroom and garden view
Messy untidy entrance to room.8
Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Had a great sleep, excellent shower pressure and temperature. Breakfast was great. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The building and grounds were lovely.Brilliant value for money.
Warm friendly welcome. Room very comfortable. Gardens beautiful. Food- excellent. A great base close to Guildford . Will come back for a proper break
Repeat overnight stay here, beautiful spacious room looking out over the garden to the lake. Few beers in the garden before heading out for the night. Relaxed atmosphere with friendly, helpful, attentive staff. Great breakfast the following morning with locally sourced produce. Will be back.
room 24 wonderful since I am disabled.
You put the mini fridge items out on the desk in the room. that is fine, but better you put them somewhere else as I had to move the tray to usethe desk to work. Perhaps put them in a cupboard and why not put in a mini fridge with better beverage selection in in it below a cupboard with the chocolate and crisps and such and the kettle and tea cups. this was annoying I had to move it all to work on my laptop and move it all back. Please make sure the desk area is clear of mini fridge items in any ay you choose
Great Location, Rooms a little "tired". Fabulous staff - so friendly and attentative, Food absoutely brilliant - especially breakfast. Jut pay a bit of attention to outside building - change dying Hanging baskets......
Room looking a little tired - need a deep clean. Bulb not working in pendant lights. Breakfast was exceptional, great quality of food, staff exceptional.
Looking a little tired - building..... Please replace hanging baskets at front looking very scruffy and not in keeping with how fab the hotel is .... attention to detail is key. Biscuit jar in room needs cleaning out
The staff were very friendly and the venue was in a great location.
Our suite room was ok, for the price I paid for a mid week stay i probably expected a bit more, dusty areas, large damp patch in the bay window, downstairs speaker was underneath our room so we could hear that till late and again from 6am the next day, late night drinkers in and out smoking underneath our window, yes it's a pub but if the cost was slightly less I probably wouldn't of minded so much.
We had a superior double and it was a big room - overlooking the garden -comfy big bed - loads of 'honesty' stuff (chocolate etc) and a very well stocked mini bar. The room and the hotel/bar is very tastefully decorated. The outside consists of a lovely garden with outdoor furniture and a lake which is safely fenced off - lots of unusual ducks. Plenty of parking. This is your all original English country hotel and pub. We loved this place and won't hesitate to come back.
Nothing - all good
Not a lot!
Booked for 2 nights B&B. Room 101 bathroom tap and door broken. Shown room 4. Pug in sink not working. bathroom waste bin not emptied. Next day returned and room not serviced. Told "not another one". Shambles. Told manager would contact us on e-mail. 2 weeks passed and no contact. Wanted some form of compensation but nothing. BE CAREFUL here
Room clean and comfortable as always. I have stayed on many occasions in the last 6-8 weeks and the standard is consistent
Food terrible as always. Have now resorted to eating MS food in my room as your chef is, at best, incompetent and at worst not caring less. Waitress lipping off to me when I said that my food was inedible.
Family Sunday Lunch Service very slow Food edible but meat was cold ! Disappointed with the result Dessert delivered in a slap dash way with the cheesecake x3 hanging off the edge !! With a bill of over 200 pounds for four with only two alcoholic beverages really expensive and the quality does not add up to the price
Food and drinks were really good but slightly on the more expensive side. Bedroom was very comfortable with a great shower.
The morning service was s little poor, not very attentive, more interested in standing talking to each other regarding issues in a recent group WhatsApp message.
evening meal was excellent , staff friendly and helpful
mattress was to firm for my personal liking ,i slept poorly ,but husband slept well
The Worplesdon Place Hotel is ALWAYS reliably excellent. Staff... Especially both Josh's are friendly, professional and an asset to Young's. Location is close to both Guildford and Woking for an easy commute. Grounds....The hotel is situated in extensive, well maintained grounds. Pet Friendly.... and is truly dog friendly, which is very much appreciated. Food and drink.... The bar and restaurant is well supported all the time and has a good atmosphere. Food is consistently good and reasonably priced. Rooms are of Young's brand of high standard and well priced. I'm a happy repeat guest.
Had a lovely stay at Worplesdon place always do We’ve been coming now for about five years for a get aways We love the place great surroundings lovely staff Great food lovely rooms Can’t recommend enough Well probably be back in September
Beautiful place!! Loved the interior design. And the room was amazing! Classical music playing as I walked in
Shower drain in my room STANK, so that affected the experience slightly :(
Location to where I was working and plenty of free parking.
The bed was very uncomfortable and the restaurant menu was expensive and I didn’t fancy any of it. Trying to be something it’s not.
Friendly staff, comfortable room
The light and the hum from kitchen opposite room 23. I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent. The room was very comfortable with a door opening onto the garden which is handy as a smoker. I was able to adjust the room temperature to my liking and the TV and its remote control worked properly.
The Wi-Fi seemed a bit glitchy, dropping out a couple of times and the instructions in the welcome book point to an incorrect SSID. It would have been nice to choose what to include on the cooked breakfast. Drinks are very expensive. If raining, having a room only accessible by going outside would have been a problem.
I really enjoyed my stay. The room was lovely and food was delicious. I would highly recommend.
Clean, cosy, comfortable rooms. Great shower too. Breakfast was excellent and the service was first class from start to finish. I’ll be coming back!
We stayed two nights. All great. Staff wonderful food great value will be back again soon.
Great, maybe a bit more fresh fruit at breakfast.
Please have a couple of bespoke dog poo bins in the garden. Brilliant for dogs otherwise.
Friendly atmosphere, and great location
Some areas looked a little tired and needed a refurbishment / decoration
Very short staffed in the morning waited long time for coffee. Room nice and clean but men at work outside so lots of banging n clanging from 8am
I booked 3 rooms. My sister booked 2. When staff realised we was family they changed our rooms to be together. We thought the pub was great. Amazing prices. Fantastic place.
Great nights stay for work locally! Well cooked breakfast starting my day right. Comfiest bed in a long time. Enjoyed my pint of cider in the sun post check in. Bring back that sunshine!
Great coffee, lovely welcome. Great meeting space
Our recent business meeting at The Worplesdon Place was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The setting strikes that perfect balance between professional and relaxed—ideal for productive conversations without feeling too formal. The team looked after us seamlessly, with attentive yet unobtrusive service that made hosting effortless. The food was a real highlight—fresh, well-executed, and thoughtfully presented, giving a strong impression to clients and colleagues alike. It’s clear there’s a real focus on quality and consistency, which always stands out in a meeting environment. The space itself worked brilliantly for business use, with a comfortable layout that allowed for both discussion and privacy. Everything ran smoothly, which is exactly what you want when you’re hosting something important. A fantastic choice for business meetings in the Guildford area—we’ll absolutely be back.
Beautiful surroundings Good bar/restaurant with good service and very good quality of breakfast.
The room utilities are quite basic, but kind of expected.
Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. Clean & comfortable room (29) with little terrace. Would be nice in warmer weather. Honesty tray of quality snacks. Decent sized TV. All good.
