Reviewed Sep 19, 2026Booked this venue for a celebration lunch and it was perfect. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. The lunch was very well organised and menu choice great. The food was very good and well presented. Service was excellent and the 'Happy Birthday' plate was a lovely touch. Also liked that we could choose a lighter breakfast at the bar, the spacious car park plus electric charging points.

I don’t know if it’s common, but being on a university campus, i was surprised there were 2 conferences going on, one of which had nothing to do with the University. As a result, the restaurant/bar were filled to the brim with loud and somewhat obnoxious conference attendees. I couldn’t get a table in the restaurant, or anywhere to relax around the bar. People were outside being noisy, so a relaxing evening prior to University orientation was difficult. My room smelt of mildew. The breakfast in the morning was bland, commercial, mass produced food & the price for both hotel & breakfast was really expensive for what was received. Parking was also an additional charge, but was hard to find a space.A lot of this could have been mitigated when checking in, and maybe we should have been forewarned, or suggested if we wanted to eat, then should have made a reservation when checking in rather than finding out at 7.00pm there went any availability. The entire experience felt like an average airport hotel at a premium price.

It was my birthday and I was very surprised to see birthday decoration in the room and on the bed -lovely! Breakfast was very tasty - overall a lovely relaxing stay in beautiful grounds. Sabina behind the bar was especially lovely - even gave me a cake for a birthday treat :-)

The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully presented. I had also requested some room decorations, and they were kindly arranged exactly as I had hoped they looked absolutely beautiful and made the stay even more special. Reviewed Aug 26, 2026Lovely hotel. Exceptionally clean and lovely bar to have drinks at before heading out or coming back. Helpful and friendly staff. We stayed for the weekend. We were able to travel by bus and ‘Uber's’ easily from the station and into the main town for restaurants. We also walked to Wollaton Park from the hotel. Lovely clean room. The hotel is situated within greenery so it also felt peaceful. I would stay again.

Sadly due to booking via booking.com I wasn’t able to prove I booked 2 rooms with breakfast…..so we went hungry that morning. I wasn’t going to pay twice! (A breakfast is £17.50 here) It’s on me as I didn’t have any clear evidence I had booked and paid for the rooms with breakfast….the invoice from booking.com simply doesn’t show what’s been paid for.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026The room was clean and comfortable. the breakfast was very good. Everything we needed in the room We ate at the restaurant and the food and service was excellent. Enjoyed our stay, meeting family members for a sporting event nearby.
Nothing to dislike. Everything was great. Would stay again.

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Everything: beautiful setting, light airy building, plenty of comfortable quiet areas to sit and relax, read or work. Excellent design and detail throughout the entire hotel and grounds. Rooms well thought out, with welcoming atmosphere, comformable bed and great sized bathroom. Great breakfast, with plenty of options for vegan, gluten free and vegetarian diets. Added bonus of free access to pool (and some paid activities) at David Ross gym whih was a 4 minute walk within the hotel grounds. All hotel staff members were exceptional. Going above and beyond to be helpful. They were also very professional and friendly. We will 100% be staying at The Orchard again.

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings. Very well furnished, clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and the staff were particularly pleasant. Good value for money.
Not really anything - had to pay for parking but suspect this is due to hotel position within the university rather than hotel policy.
