Explorer Cabins at Yellowstone

We liked the amenities. We appreciated the response to our messages. Staff was very quick and friendly. Location was very handy to Yellowstone Park and the town. The cabin was spacious and fireplace was a nice touch.

The cost was a bit high for what we used because we were gone all the time except for sleeping. The stained living room rug was a huge turn off for us. In light of the nightly charge, seems that they could change it out for a couple hundred bucks.

Location is great. Seems like they thought about everything you might need for a hike day in Yellowstone. There is complimentary laundry service which is great

Location is on the road so looks like a cabin in nature from photos but it is not so just so you are aware of that. This worked as an advantage for us as we walked everywhere to eat out and to entertainment.

Kitchen was a bit tight so great if you are only cooking simple meals.

מלון מצויין במרחק של 5 דקות נסיעה מהשער המערבי של ילוסטון. קיבלנו ביקתה מרווחת ונקיה עם מטבחון מצויד, משחקי לוח ואפילו משקפת ומקלות הליכה. המתחם עצמו נקי ומטופח. כל ערב הדליקו את המדורה בחוץ, ואפשר היה לשבת מסביבה. יש 2 בריכות שחיה זמינות לאורחי המלון במלונות סמוכים. שתיהן נקיות (וקטנות). מאוד הערכנו את תשומת הלב לכל הפרטים הקטנים שהופכים שהיה במלון למשהו יותר מיוחד מסתם לינה.

אהבנו הכל, רק קצת הסתבכנו עם מיקום הצ'ק אין, שהיה במלון סמוך.

Le seul avantage c’est la proximité par rapport à l’entrée west de Yellowstone.

Catastrophique Cabine toute petite, angoissante. Pas assez d’équipements (assiettes, couverts, serviettes, papier toilette, etc) par rapport au nombre de personnes. Pas de housekeeping alors que cela a été demandé. Pas de table pour manger …

Slightly conflicted 4 vs 5. Pro’s - lxn which is minutes from Yellowstone entrance and restaurants and easy walk to grizzly/wolf discovery center. S’mores kits were best of 3 places we stayed. Set up is ideal for a family& our son loved easy walk to pool at hotel next door. Things that are good to know, it is not in nature as much as it looks in the pics and clean though a few tiny opportunities for maintenance.

We loved the explorer cabins. We had a 2 bedroom, bunk room. Everything was clean and the staff were responsive. We enjoyed having access to the amenities at the hotels. Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again. Wish they had breakfast options.

Negatives: These cabins serve an accommodation purpose only, they are no means a luxury. Was an extremely tight squeeze for a family of 5 and as the sofa bed was in use we had nowhere to sit. Without the sofa bed out there was still only seating for 3 at best and only 2 chairs on the patio. Nowhere to sit and eat as a family. Fridge was dirty and smelled. Kids top bunk was horrible, the side bars sat on top of the mattress instead of down the sides of it so when the covers moved so did the wooden sides! When we folded out the sofa bed the lined was horrendously dirty and stained, obviously had not been changed from the previous guests which is gross. Positives: location was good. Use of binoculars, smores kit and fire pit was a bonus.

We had a wonderful stay at Explorer Cabins in West Yellowstone! We visited as a family of four and absolutely loved our experience. The location was fantastic — within walking distance of everything in town, including the Wolf and Grizzly Discovery Center, restaurants, shops, and other attractions. It was also incredibly convenient for exploring Yellowstone National Park. The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and well stocked with everything we needed, including a great selection of kitchen appliances. We especially enjoyed having our own front porch, along with easy access to the hammocks and fire pit right outside our cabin. The kids loved the complimentary s’mores kit in the evening, which was a fun touch and the perfect way to end the day after exploring the park. We highly recommend Explorer Cabins for families looking for a comfortable, convenient place to stay with easy access to Yellowstone and plenty of amenities nearby. We would definitely stay here again!

בקתה נוחה ומסודרת. המיקום נוח מאוד, כ- 5 דקות מהכניסה של הווסט ילוסטון. יש מקדונלדס בסמוך, וסופרמרקט במרחק של מספר דקות. בבקתה יש מטבחון קטן, עם ציוד בסיסי. ליד הבקתה הצוות מדליק מדורות מסודרות כל ערב. יש כניסה ל- 2 מלונות סמוכים לבריכה ולחדר הכביסה (השימוש במכונות בחינם). החדרים גדולים ומסודרים, סה"כ מומלץ!

The cleaning team was not good they did not collect the trash and instead of making the bed just pushed the bed lines. Would have been better if there was no cleaning during the stay in this way.

Great cabins and the location is unbeatable for getting to the park and also just for a walk around town.

Great place to stay! Cabins and surroundings were very pleasant. The pool was a plus. Loved being able to walk to town.

This was the most amazing stay of our entire trip. The cabins were perfect for our family of five. The cabin felt spacious, extremely clean and we thoroughly enjoyed the amenities provided. They provided binoculars, walking sticks and refillable canteens for us during the stay which really helped with all of our hiking excursions. They also provided s’more kits for my children, which they enjoyed while sitting by the fire outside every evening. Everything about the cabin was comfortable, including the bedding and air-conditioning. Everyone working there was very friendly. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting the West Yellowstone area.

Some cabin locations much nicer and more private than others, we were 28 which was sadly closest to the road. There is a few of them which sit inset together lower numbers I think. I’d request those in future.

Great location, the town is very walkable. The cabins have cute front porches. We loved being able to access the hotel for ice as well. Room was clean and AC worked well. Bed was comfortable. Our room had a fridge with small freezer, countertop ice maker, microwave, toaster, two burners, and a few kitchen supplies for basic cooking. Room is a nice size for a family of four. Board games and cards were also provided. Would stay here again!

The location, cleanliness, and atmosphere.

Loved our stay. The location can’t be beat within walking distance to downtown and just around the corner from entrance to Yellowstone. Cabins are clean and comfortably furnished and well stocked. Personnel are helpful and courteous. Amenities including binoculars, fire pit, s’mores kits and free laundry were nice to have. Our second time to stay here and will stay again next time we come.

We rescheduled an Island Park AirBNB to this at the last minute and wow I’m glad we did! Our cabin is SO cute and literally 3 minutes from the entrance to Yellowstone. The cabin itself it adorable (new? Renovated?) with a mini fridge, microwave, sink, ice maker and dishwasher. It has a huge TV and a pull out cough in the main area and we had a master BR (another huge TV) and 2nd bedroom. Honestly the outdoor area and little touches are what makes this even better. Fire pit and hammocks for every group of little cabins (10 cabins). S’mores packets are in every unit along with (at least in ours) National Park Monopoly, Who Pooped in the Park? Kids book (my 9 and 12yo loved this) and other park related items (book next to the bed, Nat Geo Yellowstone book on coffee table, etc.)! They also have hiking sticks and binoculars in the room. There are no washers/dryers in the unit but they’re close by (in a hotel) and free. A heated indoor pool is also available. The Wolf and Grizzly Discovery Center is right across the street. We love to rough it in the park all day and come back to comfy beds, TVs and AC at night! This is perfect for that - with the added features of feeling like you’re camping (fire pit, etc.). Just book it!

Que el internet no funcionó dos dias y no lo pudieron hacer funcionar Tambien que el extractor del baño era muy ruidoso y se enciende en conjunto con la luz del baño lo que lo hace molesto cuando no se requiere el extractor, especialmente si en las recámaras la luz es tenue entonces para uno arreglarse o maquillarse se ocupa la luz mas intensa del baño pero el ruido del extractor lo hace molesto.

Die Lage ist sehr gut, denn hier zum Park bereits früh am Morgen zu besuchen.

Es ist etwas eng mit fünf Personen, in der Küche gibt es wenig Kochgeschirr. Um zum Pool zu gelangen, mussten wir ein ganzes Stück laufen.

First of all the location. It's right outside the Yellowstone Park entrence and even if there is a line, you won't have to wait more than 10 minutes to get in. The other best part are the little extras that make this palce special: binoculars, walking sticks, water bottles,information about the park and the fixings for smores in your room Very thoughtful.

The only msall thing was that the door is like a hotel door and automatically locks. It's easy to lock yourself out. That can be a problem for a group of people staying in a cabin.

Explorer Cabins was really fine. It's located literally beside the entrance to the park so you will never habve to stand for more than a few minutes in line to get in. The cabin was well designed. We were four adults and we felt comfortable. IT has all o the necessities, but what is really speical are the small extras that make a big difference in Yellowstone: binoculars, walking sticks, water bottles and the fixings for smores. It was also very nice sitting around the fire place in the evening.

We absolutely loved our stay at Explorer Cabins! The little touches, like providing s’mores kits, made it feel extra special, and the firepit was such a great bonus for relaxing in the evenings. My daughter especially loved the hammock, which quickly became her favorite spot. The cabins may look small, but they are thoughtfully designed and had plenty of room for our family. The location is perfect right across from the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center and close to everything in town. What we loved most is that even though you’re in town, the way the cabins are laid out makes you feel like you’re tucked away in the woods. It gave us the best of both worlds. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

Close proximity to west entrance of Yellowstone

Super cute cabin. Very spacious for our family of 5 and a great shower. We loved the hammocks, fire pit, and games available for use.

Overall don’t love West Yellowstone but the property made it better.

We stayed in Cabin #10 as a single father traveling with my 10-year-old son, paying a premium rate of $551+ per night (before tax). Given the price tag, you expect a certain level of service and functional basic amenities, but this stay was a cascade of unaddressed issues from start to finish. Day 1 (Housekeeping Issue): Our room was completely skipped for service. The excuse given was that there was "clothing on the bed"—however, only one of the two beds had any clothes on it. Day 2 (Broken Amenities & Parking): In the morning, I tried to brew coffee only to find the coffee maker was entirely broken. To add to the frustration, parking is highly inadequate. For two nights of our stay, the cabin parking stalls were completely full, forcing me to park out on the street. Day 3 (No Hot Water & Poor Maintenance Response): After a long day exploring the park, we came back wanting nothing more than a warm shower. The water heater was broken. A maintenance worker came by, looked at it, and claimed it was "all fixed." It wasn't. He was dishonest; the water stayed ice-cold. When I called the front desk back to report it, they finally admitted the water heater actually needed to be fully serviced. The Front Desk Resolution (or lack thereof): Because we have to leave incredibly early the next morning for a 3+ hour drive to the Jackson airport followed by a grueling 12 hours of flights and layovers to get home, I asked for a resolution tonight. The front desk agent told me she couldn't do much other than have me talk to management later. She claimed she "understood," but her ultimate solution was to suggest I call another local hotel to see if they would let us use a room just to take a shower. Unbelievable. Asking a paying guest—who has already spent over $1,650 for a three-night stay—to go find a shower at a completely different property is unacceptable customer service. Between the broken amenities, dishonest maintenance staff, and a completely unhelpful front desk response, I cannot recommend the Explorer Cabins. For these prices, go stay somewhere else that actually values its guests and maintains its property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful cabins, clean, comfortable beds, nice kitchen area. Coffee pot available and great coffee supplied! Love the fire pit that goes on at 5pm and the complimentary s’mores kit. Great location, very easy walk to restaurants and shops. West Yellowstone is a nice little town, just outside the west gate so really easy access to Yellowstone! Highly recommend!

Very cute cabin.

I honestly loved the cabin! The location was perfect! I loved being able to walk to all the coffee shops and souvenir shops. The kitchen had all the essentials and I liked having a recycling bin option. The bed was a little stiff but I slept good every night.

There was mold growing at the bottom of the bathroom and if you shut the door you get a strong mildew scent. My husband said he barely noticed it but it literally made me feel some nausea. This is my only complaint though and a super easy fix I'm sure. Everything else was absolutely lovely and clean.

No matter what you touched you got a static shock.

The property is always very nice and clean.

We were guaranteed a check in at 4pm because our room wasn’t ready at 3pm. We had to wait after 4pm to get into our room. We were exhausted from a big day touring in the park and the wait was bad.

The Explorer cabins are great; right outside the Yellowstone entrance. Way better than the Old Faithful Inn. There was a nice gas fire outside of our rooms; they provided s’mores kits for the kiddos and adults. It a good central point. We saw lots of bison - 100+ that walked passed us. We saw Elk, etc. It is a good location. I’d stay there again.

We couldn't get the fireplace to work but it wasn't too cold so that was ok.

Living room TV didn’t work

We made our reservation with the intention of visiting Yellowstone’s West Entrance. After booking, we discovered that the entrance was not yet open during our dates and there were even some road closures in the area. We requested to change our stay to three weeks later when the entrance would open and indicated that we are willing to pay any applicable price difference. Unfortunately, we have not yet received a response from the property regarding this request.  We paid in full at the time of booking through booking.com. Booking.com reached out as well with no response from the property manager.

Super gut gelegen, gleich beim Parkeingang (West) zum Yellowstone. Das Cabin ist schön gross und verfügt über 2 Schlafzimmer. Es ist sehr sauber (ausser Kopfkissen - siehe unten). Gratis Parkplatz!! Das Personal beim Check-in ist mega freundlich. Wir würden das Cabin wieder buchen.

Grundsätzlich ist das Cabin sauber und gut eingerichtet. Die Kopfkissen müssen jedoch dringend gewechselt werden, da diese sehr stark muffeln und eigentlich nur noch mit einem zusätzlichen Duschtuch benutzt werden können.

Personal hat nicht auf unsere Anfrage reagiert. Keine Kontaktmöglichleit. Würde nicht mehr buchen.

Our group rented 4 cabins. The cabins were close to each other and perfect for our group. Check in was easy and we were able to check in early. The cabins were comfortable and very clean. Nice fire pit was lit every night and made for a lovely ambiance. Mini kitchenette was convenient, although we did not cook any meals. Coffee pot, coffee and filters were provided.
