The experience was good I enjoyed it looking forward to make a next trip.
Well for me I can't say I did not like anything it was good
The food an the some people had a Pleasant smile communicates well especially at the front desk the servers in the Italian restaurant made your night
The beach was clean
The room was unkept the bed was broken down the bathroom wasn't clean properly
Everything
N/A
To recommend anybody to go to this resort, they really bad. From the time I get there to the from the time I left there was a problem. For everything they were charging and saving for. The stuff was not helpful. They’re very rude. They are very disrespectful.
If you are a color of person or a black, don’t go to this result they’re very racist. The food is really bad. It was salty everything the food was disgusting. I had never went to a resort that they not really good at their job with their doing. Everything was really bad..
The customer service was great, and the food was awesome, except that some meals were really salty. The pool and beach were very clean, and I loved the fact that I didn't have to pay for the cabanas.
What I didn't like was the lack of entertainment, and the property didn't have a little vibe. When I just walked in, I thought I was going to a retirement home. When I do go to an event, it's not as lively as I thought it would be. At some parts of my stay, I got a little bored. I would not return with friends but would come back with my mom.
Beaches and staff was great both at the beach and at certain restaurants well the buffets. There was a vast amount of options for food. However the buffets, the burger hut gave you variety and portion size to say the least.
The restaurants besides the buffets that gave you a variety of options were not that great.
I liked the food, entertainment and the friendly staff.
I only got the chance to spend one night because my spouse had an accident on her way to the airport on September 4, 2026 which was her birthday and I’ve been trying to contact booking.com to update to either get a refund or an additional night but NO response. I really disliked that because she would have missed her birthday experience there.
The grounds are beautiful. It reminds me of being on a cruise ship but the added bonus of a lovely beach and options to go out. It’s a well designed hotel with wonderful ocean views and very pretty to walk around at night.
I wouldn’t say I dislike anything about the property - just requires some maintenance; however, since the hurricane, I dare say revenue is needed to fully complete it. But minor things could be done.
I like the calmness, friendliness and customer service provided by the staff. Love the welcoming gifts left in the room. The room was clean and comfy. The vibes was just right.
The room, pool and beach was very clean
Customer service was terrible especially workers who control room service. Food option was also limited and lock taste/spices
Amazing location, stunning beach access.
Took a long time to check us in.
Everything, especially how nice the staffs were. The mood was just right.
The food, it could have been a bit better in terms of the different varieties.
Cleansiness the food and the staffbe
The car park was too far from the Hotel. There should be a golf cart or other transportation to take guests from the car park to the hotel.
It was a good mix of fun and relaxation Staff was pleasant, respectful and well informed I will recommend and revisit
Parking distance was far
I had a great experience the staff were friendly i will definitely go back
The buffet wasn't great but you can still fine something to eat,the jerk chicken on the beach was good I enjoyed it.
It’s a spacious property with wonderful views
Some things needed a little maintenance
Convenient to have all inclusive resort The beach is great…clean with white sand
Cleaniness could improve
Beach
Sims food
The swim-up room is PENG! SO WORTH IT!
Staff was great , place was clean
Limited food options for breakfast especially
The beach was exceptional.
The moldy rooms, horrible plumbing, freshly done paint job ruining clothes and imprinting on skin. Unclean utensils, poor AC maintenance, broken furniture.
Great customer service and accommodation lovely staff friendly and polite
Close proximity to beach and night life
The block I was at was/seemed desolate and was under renovation
The beach
Dated, dirty, small options for lunch and dinner. We ended up going out of the hotel for lunch and dinner even though it was an all inclusive. I will never return here, the photos are false.
The room was big and comfortable
Only one restaurant was open that took a long time to walk to at the end if the property - no vibe no staff - felt like a ghost town - food was poor no choice
The pools, Beach and the staffs
The ac in room 23008 needs servicing and the cover fell off while i was sleeping, and there was no robe in the room and no snacks
The spa and the service of the bell man and the waiters
The parking lot was way too far from the hotel. There was is no sidewalk or pedestrian crossing from the parking lot to the hotel. The infrastructure was older than advertised, I felt deceived. We were incorrectly billed by the front desk staff only to be called minutes to midnight to make out way to the front desk to rectify charges- I felt harassed. Housekeeping did not replace rags, towels or soap after cleaning room. We had to call for replacements. Room service did not pick up after calling them for more than 15 minutes. The menu for breakfast did not match what was advertised- it was below expectations. I would not return to this place if these things are not improved.
The beach
Staff was unprofessional well some
I love everything about this property it was clean and beautiful.
Lack of entertainment I believe they can do more. Everything entertainment wise was over by 10 pm so I was disappointed about that.
I like that there was so many pools, there is a pool and bar near each building . I love the beach. There is a lot of guest rest rooms. The place was clean. Its nice for relaxation. I also liked the many cabanas on the beach.. I like my bathroom and balcony and the view from the balcony.
I didn't like my room in general, the furniture looked old and discolored. The bathroom and balcony was ok. The AC blows exactly on the bed and couldn't be adjusted, I reported it, but no one responded. I requested for shower gel and towels to be replenish unfortunately they were not..i dont like that the dinning area is at the end of the property.i believe it should be more central..There should be more entertainment especially at nights. The lobby area is very hot
The size of the resort, the many pools and bars to choose from, ease of access to the beach.
The food can be better quality, entertainment at night could use some work
I didn’t enjoy my stay there, so no thing
I didn’t like the customer service, the property is run down, the food is bad
Proud to see the property was at a decent standard following the passage of Hurricane Melissa. Room are decent, overall property is maintained. I see where the lifeguards and other cleaning staff takes pride in keeping their areas clean. Staff was helpful and kind for the most part. Front desk, the ladies at the café (sorry I'm bad with names) made me perfect coffee daily 😀 👌 Definitely will return....
Whilst we are aware of industry standards, and the demographics hotels caters to. Bland doesn't have to be an option. Mild flavour works...overall meal options were satisfactory, however the Italian menu was bland! Meals overall was satisfactory....
The food options were just ok.The staff were welcoming.
Needed more entertainment the days are pretty much just no activities no music …having access to the beautiful beach was the best part of the stay. My room was not cleaned refreshed properly. They had a shortage on beach towel I could not get a replacement the entire day being at the beach they kept running out.
breakfast was ok it was near to my room, but the walking from the lobby to building 12 was so long.
The dinner time frame and the waited time to get seat
The rooms are nice pools are are nice
Rooms and pool
The vibe from the bar staff serving near building 1. Think his name was Rome or something like that.
Poor communication/ customer service from front desk staff. Lacking abilities to resolve guest issues effectively. I didn't feel welcome when I reached the property.
The beach was the only good thing about this property
The rooms need renovation, the entire property needs renovation to be completely honest. The staff is extremely rude and not helpful all.
The only good thing about this resort is the beach
No entertainment, buildings were ran down, mold everywhere, pool dirty, can never find any staff to help with anything. I regret going here
Great customer service, great food, very beautiful hotel. Great entertainment. U should try it, don't listen to other people's opinions. I'd go again. I arrived before check out and I was given access until room was ready. I loved that
Considering the passing of Hurricane Melissa, some painting is needed on the exterior of just a few buildings and the furniture at the swim out suites need some cleaning but it was lovely. They charge $10,000 jmd per room for security deposit which was not disclosed anywhere, well, I didn't see it anywhere, they say it's refundable after 24hrs after checkout.
Everything was good the food pool beaches staff
It was too far to walk to the lobby, and the buffet restaurants
I liked the show that was held on the Saturday.
I didn't like the food which was served in the restaurants but the ones at the grill were very good especially the quesidilla and the jerk chicken.
The beach
The parking and the aesthetic of the property was a bit off. The food selection was less than we are accustomed but the taste was 6/10
Breakfast was ok, with dietary restriction the dining staff were not knowledgeable of the hotel's policy
The bed was dirty, there was paint running from the wall onto the floor
Everything
Liked everything, might be a little more evening entertainment
The cleanliness and friendly environment that was created by the staff.
The after effective once the AC was turned off
Walking distance
it was nice an clean
far walks to get food
The food
missed the fried dumplin
bacon was too burn
Scenery, cuisine , friendly environment the spa was a great experience thanks to Sheryl and the staff in that area
Front desk needs to have umbrellas, it's a necessity base on the weather condition to facilitate persons that actually drove to the hotel.
Most things especially the beach and the pool area. And not the mention my bed was so comfortable.
Food options at the open kitchens.
It's was wonderful experience doing this family session in the hotel property
I love how patient the staff members are and they assist us to the core because we were having a little difficulty checking in
The staff was friendly and helpful
Distance to get to main restaurants.
To say it's a 5 star hotel, I was expecting to receive a 5 star treatment, but never the less even though the resort is in need of an upgrade, I must say the staff there is who really carries out the best part of the hotel, and my stay. Shout out to all my prestige friends, and also to my amazing friend who had us tuck in, in fine style at night Ms Kayann, I'm talking about you my dear. Thanks for taking care of us. Flames, and the entertainment crew shout to you guys. At first we were thinking that we'll never visit again, but because of you guys, we'll definitely be returning back, love you guys....
I had a room update which cost 180 per night more. The room had no water i hace to be searching for water hours a night. But I told them and they sorted it out very quickly. The upgraded room was very comfortable and cozy!! The food tastes really great 👍 👌 😋 The staffs are amazing...they do need more entertainments it was kind of bored... They need to fix the ac...leaking alot ...overall they need to fix alot of things and they are very cheap with the liquors ...
I loved the location of the property and the beach was stunning. The staff were lovely and the food was good.
The rooms were tired, peeling paint, no shower gel dispensers.
According to our travel agent, this was a 5-star all-inclusive resort. Definitely not 5-star, but maybe a 3.5-star is more like it. The staff was amazing; they get a 5-star! The actual resort needs updating. We stayed in a suite which needed updating. The bath tub alone was despicable-looking, it needed to be replaced. There was no sort of communication to guests regarding the daily activities available within the resort. You had to actually walk around and ask staff what was going on for the day. Sometimes the staffs information wasn't accurate. We stayed in room 63001, which is the 6th building, and the resort actually has 12 buildings. The Asian restaurant they had served entrees I was unfamiliar with, and it wasn't open except one night during my entire 5-night stay at the resort. Although some things weren't 5-star, I still give the resort an overall 4 because, as I said, the staff was amazing. Reshane, Shawna Kay, Ms. Diana, Marvin (the entertainment staff), Marvin (the host), and so many more I can't remember their names. Thanks for a great holiday in my happy place, Jamaica!
Buffet food was not appetizing. Room service is the better bet. Not a lot of activities for adults only.
Stayed a few nights during our holiday Positives : Definitely the location and the beach it has the perfect setting The wrist bands which has your door key The food was actually decent and a good range Negatives: We found some of the staff particularly at the food halls to be unwelcoming and cold, often not talking and just using hand gestures The property could do with some adjustments and re decoration confusing the price you pay for your stay Our room was not ready at 4:30 and check in is at 3, however we were upgraded to a different room due to this Overall we did enjoyed our stay for a short break but wouldn’t stay longer than 4/5 days
The below is an honest review of the advertised Azul Negril 5 Star Luxury Resort. This is not a 5 star luxury resort and would rate it 3 stars, and that would be generous. I have stayed in better 3 star hotels for a significantly less cost at the same time of year. Do not believe that the photos on the resort & travel agents websites, they are in no way reflective of the actual condition of the resort. Where do I start? Rooms: The room allocated on arrival was not representative of the accommodation advertised on the hotel's own website. The issues included: • Furniture was painted white, worn and damaged, and did not match • Bathroom was dated and not cleaned to an acceptable standard. • No bathrobes or slippers were provided • Sound dock was not present. • Toilet door would not close properly. • Balcony door could only be opened and closed with force and slamming it. • No table was provided on the balcony. • Bolt missing from glass balcony meaning it was unsafe. • Balcony furniture consisted of worn plastic chairs • A heavy metal section of the shower door detached because it had not been fitted correctly. This presented a significant safety risk and could easily have caused injury. • The wardrobe was located within the bathroom, resulting in clothing becoming damp due to steam from the shower. • The outdoor circular daybed bore little resemblance to that shown in promotional photographs. The cushions were dirty, the retractable canopy was missing, and the frame was deteriorating. • Although we had booked and paid for a Deluxe Sea View Room, the sea view was almost entirely obscured by palm trees. After 3 nights we were moved to another room however replacement room suffered from many of the same issues, including: • The outdoor daybed again did not resemble that shown in promotional photographs, having no cushions initially, no retractable canopy, and a deteriorating frame. Two cushions were only supplied after we specifically requested them. • Shower gel was not replenished daily and had to be requested repeatedly. • Towels were not replaced consistently. • The bathroom was extremely small for a room marketed as Deluxe and only had one sink where a his & hers are advertised Resort Areas: The overall condition of the resort fell well below the standard expected of a five-star property. • Broken, damaged and unrepaired decking throughout outdoor walkways and seating areas. These have the potential for someone to have a serious accident, especially to someone wearing high healed shoes and small children • Damaged and broken spindles on bridges crossing the swimming pools. • Extensive flaking external paintwork on several buildings. Beach: Promotional photographs show cushioned sunbeds with a parasol for every pair of loungers. In reality, there were very few parasols available outside the Prestige area, no cushions on sunbeds, and many parasols were unsafe, requiring ropes to secure them due to missing fixing pins. Though there were wicker covered cozy beds these did not provide shade from early afternoon. When showing resort customer care the website photo they smiled and said " I have worked here for several years and have never seen the beach laid out like that" However on a positive note the beach is spotlessly clean, nice sand and water is clear. Good selection of non-motorised watersports equipment, paddleboards, Kayaks & Hobby cats Restaurants & Bars: Several were either closed throughout our stay or operated on a much more limited basis than advertised. Closed Throughout Our Stay • Indigo Denim Bar. • Gourmet Corner Snack Restaurant adjacent to the main reception. Palms Restaurant: Upon arrival we were advised this restaurant was available for breakfast only. However, it remained closed for breakfast throughout our stay. It occasionally opened for dinner when the Mahogany Restaurant was closed, although this was never communicated via the hotel app or resort information. Mahogany Restaurant Our experience at the main buffet restaurant was consistently disappointing. • The majority of staff were unhelpful and unfriendly, although there were a small number of exceptions. • On our first evening we were never approached to be offered water or drinks during the entire meal. • Food quality was poor Breakfast items, particularly the sausages and hash browns, sat in pools of liquid fat in the bottom of the trays. • The only available four-slice toaster required approximately seven to eight minutes to toast bread. • Empty food stations were frequently left unreplenished. On more than one occasion bacon, beans, scrambled eggs and sausages remained unavailable for more than ten minutes. • We were sometimes seated at tables that had not been laid, despite numerous clean and fully prepared tables being available. • Breakfast tea bags were unavailable on three consecutive mornings, forcing us to use those supplied in our room. Specialty Restaurants: Ackee Jamaican, Di Romana Italian and Hua Hin Asian were not all open each day, significantly limiting the dining options available despite these restaurants forming part of the advertised facilities Ackee & Di Romana - Decent food, good staff Hua Hin - Limited options, some areas of room are nice others are a bit drab. Service was poor first visit, good second visit. Summary In my opinion, Azul Beach Resort Negril falls significantly short of the five-star standard under which it is marketed by both Travel Agents and the hotel itself. The accommodation, facilities, maintenance, food quality, service and overall presentation were consistently below the standard reasonably expected of a luxury five-star resort. Several advertised facilities were unavailable throughout our stay, the room was not as described, and many maintenance issues remained unresolved and are a safety hazard. Having stayed in numerous three-star and five-star hotels, I would rate this resort no higher than three stars, and even that assessment is generous. Please refer to my photos.
We had such high hopes for this resort, but unfortunately it fell well below what we’d expect from a five-star hotel. The resort was generally unclean, and even after moving rooms we still found cockroaches. Housekeeping was inconsistent, towels regularly weren’t replaced, and the mini fridge was rarely stocked as promised. On more than one occasion we waited up to two days for it to be refilled, despite reporting it. The service was equally disappointing. While a handful of staff were fantastic, several others were rude, and we even experienced staff tutting if they weren’t given tips. Tips should be a reward for good service, not something guests feel pressured into giving. The food was another let-down. We travelled to Jamaica hoping to enjoy authentic Jamaican cuisine, but instead we were repeatedly offered Mexican and Chinese-themed nights. It felt like the resort had forgotten where it was. We wanted to experience Jamaica, not menus we could find almost anywhere else. Entertainment was practically non-existent. On the nights there was entertainment, it often felt completely disconnected from the destination. Silent discos? A Michael Jackson tribute show? They may be enjoyable elsewhere, but they don’t exactly scream “Jamaica.” We came expecting reggae, live Jamaican music, steel drums, cultural performances and local entertainment, but there was very little of that throughout our stay. The biggest disappointment was that the resort lacked any real Jamaican identity. Aside from the beautiful scenery, it could have been located anywhere in the world. The people who genuinely made our holiday were the beach security team and a few of the lifeguards. They were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to chat or help. They deserve recognition because they provided the warm Jamaican hospitality that the rest of the resort was missing. Jamaica is an incredible country with an amazing culture, but sadly this resort didn’t showcase it. For the price we paid, we expected a luxury five-star experience and an authentic taste of Jamaica. Unfortunately, we got neither. I hope management takes these comments seriously because this resort has so much potential, but in its current state, I wouldn’t return.
The hostess Keedee at breakfast, pool staff Tavoy, and the life guards.
Overall, our stay was disappointing and fell well below our expectations. The resort felt much more like a 2-star property than the 4-5 star resort that was advertised. When we arrived, our room was missing hand towels and washcloths, and we never received them during our stay. We requested additional towels, but it took over an hour for them to be delivered. Even more concerning, the staff member who brought them opened our room door without knocking or obtaining our consent, which was unsettling. In addition, some of the furniture in the room was either broken or missing pieces, which made the accommodations feel poorly maintained. The beach experience was also disappointing. We were frequently approached by vendors and individuals offering drugs, which made it difficult to relax, especially since we were traveling with our child. The beach beds were also in poor condition, with cushions that were ripped or torn, adding to the overall sense that the property was not being properly cared for. Service at breakfast was inconsistent. We had to repeatedly ask for coffee, water, and other beverages before receiving them. The food quality throughout our stay was also underwhelming, with many dishes lacking flavor. The television in our room also froze frequently and was unusable much of the time. Perhaps most concerning, we observed members of management treating staff in a disrespectful manner. We also witnessed what appeared to be sexually inappropriate comments directed at female staff members. Seeing employees spoken to in this way was uncomfortable and reflected poorly on the resort’s workplace culture. Unfortunately, these issues added up and significantly affected our overall experience. We expected a much higher level of service, professionalism, and hospitality and left feeling disappointed.
They didn’t have a variety to chose eggs everyday doesnt cut it for breakfas
They need to have other breakfast supplements
Please take my advise. This is not a five star hotel. I styed at this MOTEL for my Anniversary in June 2026. I have been over to Jamaica 5 times and this the worst MOTEL (NOT EVEN A HOTEL) I HAVE STAYED AT. Don't be fooled by the pics. They sold me a Dream when I arrived it was a NIGHTMARE.
Overall, I would rate this resort somewhere around a 3.5–4 stars rather than a true 5-star experience. If you're looking for a family-friendly vacation, this resort is a good option. However, if you're looking for an adults-only atmosphere or more of a party vibe, this probably isn't the resort for you. There were children throughout the resort, including at the bars, which wasn't the experience I was hoping for. We stayed in a Deluxe Swim-Out Suite, which was very nice and one of the highlights of our trip. The room itself was comfortable, and the swim-out feature was great. However, the furniture could definitely use a deep cleaning and some updating, as the rooms are beginning to show their age. The mini-fridge was consistently stocked, and housekeeping did a great job keeping our room clean throughout our stay. One of the best parts of our vacation was the staff. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and always willing to help. A special thank you to our butler, Rasahne, who was fantastic and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay. Selena was also amazing and provided outstanding service. The bartenders were another highlight. Safarie at the Nesata Lounge made excellent drinks and was always a pleasure to visit. Alshane at the main bar was also outstanding and made some of the best drink shots during our stay! The beach staff and lifeguards were friendly and attentive, especially Shawn, who went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The food was okay—it was definitely edible, but nothing particularly memorable. The only restaurant I didn't enjoy was the Asian restaurant, which unfortunately wasn't to my taste. Would I return? Maybe. If the resort added an adults-only pool, more adults-only activities, and updated the rooms, I would definitely consider coming back. The exceptional staff made a positive impression, but overall, the resort caters more to families than adults seeking a relaxing or lively adults-only getaway.
I am not bashing the hotel in general because there were many good aspects of it. BUT it is not the 5 star hotel that it claims to be, and that the price would reflect. The employees were generally very pleasant and helpful (especially Dean who helped with our bags and valet, Ricardo and the other guys in the beach area and Racquel and Timar at the restaurants). The food at Ackee especially was excellent (although the desserts in general at all the restaurants were underwhelming). The front desk worked with us to set up a birthday surprise for one of our group, made a room change to accommodate someone who would have struggled to climb 3 sets of stairs once we realized there were no elevators, and did things like call the evening before our check-out to verify if we needed help with our luggage or transportation for departure day. That was good. The grounds are well kept, the beach is great and we felt comfortable with the level of security that was provided. HOWEVER, to be a 5 star hotel - and charge 5 star prices - some things need attention. I was there with a large group. (over 20 ppl in 10 rooms and a mix of Jamaican residents and foreign residents). Some rooms were good (if a little dated), but there were others that had issues: from faulty shower heads to rusty/grimy shower curtains, to un-useable bathtubs with cracks in them, and at least one where the tub had not been 100% cleaned prior to check-in. One in our group asked for a bathmat and was told none were available but I had a bathmat in my bathroom. Other things: There were many areas where the paint had just not been done neatly and a large coffee spill/stain on the stairs leading to my room took 2 days to clean up and even then was only partially done. The lounge chair on my balcony was tattered as were several others. Regarding the entertainment staff: The evening shows they put on were fine. One area where they can improve though is learning how to cater better to their audience. One night there was to be a party but most of the music being played was dancehall and the only people dancing and enjoying themselves were the staff. At one point my group requested a change in music and when that happened we got onto the dance floor and were having a good time but that did not last long before they went back to dancehall music and only the staff dancing. The music should be more inclusive considering that MOST of the guests are foreigners. eg. Instead of so much Vibez Kartel and Alkaline, there should be more Sean Paul and Shaggy. That's what the tourists would respond to. These things are what makes the difference between 5 star luxury and not. Lastly the room occupancy policy is highly limiting and made things even more expensive for some of the families in my group. It actually priced one family out altogether from making the trip because a father, mother and their 2 children were being required to book 2 separate rooms. Even though ultimately we had a good time, I would not come back to this hotel when I can pay these same prices and stay somewhere else and get a true high end experience.
Stunning resort! This is my second time here, and this visit was much better than before! Some staff members were truly exceptional. Notably: Paula at the cafe; Dwight, the Sales Manager; and Jorge, the Hospitality & Culinary Manager (I don’t think I ever saw this man off the job, and he was always happy with a smile on his face—it was wonderful to see). Our bellboys, Dwayne & Shamar, our housekeeper, Donna, and our turndown housekeeper, Kaye-Anne (I hope this is how you spell her name), were all top-notch. Lifeguard Shawn was wonderful and always made sure we were taken care of, and Lifeguard Rush was one of the hardest-working people we saw at the resort. The security team was also awesome—super friendly and attentive! All of these people set a wonderful example, but we did notice some discrepancies that need work. First, at the snack bar, guests who have already ordered need to be prioritized before staff members place their own orders for guests. Additionally, some staff members truly didn’t look like they wanted to be at work; it was very hard to get a smile out of them, and we noticed a couple of eye-rolls. I think that behavior needs to stop. Perhaps a training session or two on hospitality and guest interaction would be helpful, as this behavior gives a negative spin to the resort experience, even when staff think guests aren't watching. Again, this wasn’t directed at me at all, but I did see it happen with other people. On a positive note, the jerk pit in front of Garfield is amazing, and it should happen more than once or twice a week! However, the entertainment needs improvement. The nighttime shows were excellent but in the daytime it was dead. We hung out at the beach near Garfield’s, and there was barely any music playing. The last two days we were there, they had music at the pool for the pool party, and it was awesome. We feel there should be music playing every single day for those who are at the beach as well. It was a little too quiet—again, that’s just constructive criticism because I know that Karisma loves to highlight their entertainment team. Our rooms were excellent and very clean. The welcome amenity and setup for our last night were absolutely stunning and beautiful, which we appreciated. I thought the food was OK, and definitely better than the last time I was here. More options were available, making it easier to eat with dietary restrictions and allergies. They definitely had gluten-free options, but it would be nice to have a few more, especially when it came to desserts and breads. Now, the biggest thing for me—again, it didn’t ruin my vacation, and I gave a four-star rating for that reason—is that there should be more beach service on the Garfield side of the beach. There was barely any service at all. That said, the vibes, the cleanliness, and the overall staff environment were beautiful. The beach itself is exceptional; I don’t think there is a better beach in Jamaica. A few final things to improve: Azul needs a better system with the beach towels because there were very few available. Maybe bring back a card system where you have to trade a card to get a towel? Also, the room service either needs to be completely eliminated or a lot more effort needs to be put into it. We ordered room service through the app twice and never received it either time. When calling room service, at least three out of four times the phone just kept ringing without anyone answering, so we just didn’t get anything at all. That definitely needs to be improved or eliminated; there’s no point in offering it if you’re not going to actually expedite the orders. Again, none of this made or broke our vacation at all, but it's just an observation! The transfer company that has all uses, Errol Flynn was excellent. I highly recommend booking transfer company to the resort. It was seamless. Our driver nicknamed Baller, was awesome. He definitely will be the person we will request from here on out. We will be back!
I liked the exclusivity it fitted the aesthetic I was going for. Quality over quantity
Just arrived home after 10 days at the Azul resort, read some reviews before we went and was slightly concerned with what has been said on here so this is our honest opinion on the resort Yes it does need some updating especially on the decking and some parts of the outside of the hotel, however if you can handle that then it's an amazing place, the location is perfect, the beach is beautiful and the food is first class, the rooms are a little out dated but clean just like the rest of the resort, fridge topped up daily, free water sports and great bars, had a cabana everyday as it was really quiet, best part about this hotel is the staff, every person who works there from the gardeners, security, cleaners, bar staff are the best, they are always happy to see you, go out of their way to make you feel special, never experienced anywhere with staff this good, special mention to mamma Sheryl, went out of her way everyday to make our holiday, spent my 50th birthday there, she bought me champagne on the beach and booked us a restaurant at Lilly's when we couldn't get a table, she and all the other members of staff will make your holiday, will definitely be going back, so if you want a beautiful beach great food and fun staff it's definitely the place to be, a few tired looking parts is not enough to give this place a bad review.
The hospitality was amazing Very nice staff
The food was gross Not enough options to eat Everything was closed early times
staff was friendly and helpful
dated and in need of many repairs. Definitely not 4 or 5 star.
The butlers make the visit! Shari and Rashane are an amazing team and do everything possible to make your static you stay at Azul Beach you have to request them. It’s our sixth trip to Jamaica and we go back each time to see them. Beautiful beach and amazing culture!
We just got back from our 7 days stay at Azul. We had 2 rooms, both ocean view, however second view was more pool then ocean, disappointment here. When I booked resort I looked at the google maps, and something fishy is here, Azul beach resort is a 5 star resort on a map, this name is on all booking sites, however when we arrived, it appears to be Azul Seven mile beach resort, which on google 3 star resort, AI claims its the same resort, but why have to markers one for 3, one for 5 star. Of course when u are in resort you know it is a 3 star resort, as we have been all over Jamaica and always go to 5 star. Anyway, to be short. Resort - very old , almost no maintenance done but clean, I like that resort goes along the beach, so when you walk on central ave, you always walk 5 meters from the sea. Rooms - are also very old, but also clean, AC broke once but they fixed it quickly. Stuff clean the room nicely. Stuff - was very kind and responsive, star here. Pools - were ok, old same as resort, also clean Beach and sea - absolutely amazing, more umbrellas would be a plus but all good. Lots of stuff to do there, we did tubing, jet boats, went to Bubbykay island for lobsters, went snorkling, ate lobsters at local restaurant. Bars - very good, never had to wait, there is so many of them and not many people. Restaurants - buffets are very small variety, food very spicy, hard to find something not. Conclusion, I would return here with my friends anytime because of the beach, and all the fun you can have here but not as couple who wants just to relax.
The staff was amazing. They made us want to return. Everyone was so pleasant.
Wish the room service menu was a bit more expansive.
If you are looking for a relaxed beach holiday with beautiful views this ticks all the boxes. The staff re very friendly and cannot do enough to help you. The breakfast is good with varied options and w loved the omelette station. Lunch options are jerk on the beach, buffet lunch which was average or a burger bar which has different options. For dinner there was always a selection of restaurants to choose from on the resort. We did venture out for dinner twice as we stayed for two weeks so would recommend the Boardwalk Village and Miss Lilys. The rooms could do with being updated but wasn’t a problem as they were clean. The spa is worth using and we had brilliant massages. Overall a really enjoyable stay and would return. Thank you!
I chose Azul Beach Resort for my wedding, based on my own research. Multiple reviews, travel agents and brides told me to choose otherwise— I am so glad I didn’t! Dwight, Carla and Danielle on the wedding team were amazing to work with! They answered questions quickly, stayed in communication and once my family and I (26 of us!) got to the resort, they were hands on, attentive and amazing. Everything went perfectly. I couldn’t have asked for a better semi-private dinner, ceremony, reception & candlelight dinner. My family was so happy with everything from the service, to the wedding, to the food and attentiveness. The wedding team never stopped checking on us. Every employee is so friendly, so personable and remembers your name like family. The employees are out everyday cleaning everything in sight, working hard and doing it with a smile. The time is what you make of it. My family was so happy with not only the wedding but the resort as well, we will be returning. Thank you all for making me and my now HUSBANDDDDDDD’s dream come true :)
No complaints! We moved to Azul to chill a few days after a week at Hedonism. We were warned that it's not the 24/7 party that we were coming from, and that's exactly what we wanted! Check in was easy, we were handed chilled towels and a drink upon entering the lobby. Room wasn't ready and didn't expect it to be, so off to the Amber Oceanfront bar where cold drinks and a nice breeze was just the ticket. Lunch was jerk chicken on the beach, and it was a good as any jerk I have had in Negril. Our room (23006) was top floor, ocean view, building 2. Everything worked and was clean enough, and we loved the view. Evening entertainment was the usual loud, but stopped promptly as scheduled. The Mahogany buffet was decent, with excellent service. We tried the Asian restaurant too: small portions, order more than you think you'll want, although the taste was on point. Beans provided great coffee and Frappuccino, with fun finger foods. Beach was, ofc, perfect, as 7-Mile always is. Beach towels readily available with lots of options for shade along the water. We have walked past this place to years and now we know, we will be back!
If you want new and fresh this resort is not for you. Go elsewhere if you want everyday a made up room clean sheets and towels. I suggest asking for this as soon as your in the room and ask for bottle water to be send to your room as all bars don’t provide bottle water . The rooms are in precarious state I was there with a group of 8 I had a family room in building 6 my family was moved from building 12 to 11 ,and the rooms are bad the couches in the room are nasty . The food is a hit and miss .Eat early in the buffet for better options. Some staff are pleasant and nice others are rude . I will not be returning to this resort with my family ,on the other hand the beach is a winner . All else was awful .
This is a wonderful location, with extremely warm and friendly staff. The beach is beautiful and well taken care of, with security on site all day and a lot of staff to tend to guests. If you’re planning to go to this hotel, I’d note the following; Negatives; - the hotel could do with a slight renovation and some of the metal work in the bathrooms is a little rusty. Overall the hotel could do with a touch up and modernised very slightly. - Options for food are OK - but not brilliant. The quality of the food outside of the Mahogany buffet could be better. But again, it isn’t terrible. - There is a lack of air conditioning in the Amber bar so was often very humid sitting there. - Nesta Bar was heavily advertised for late evening however when you go there, there is no music and we were told the DJ would be coming - but he never came. We often had to play music from the TV’s which was disappointing. If the staff are going to advertise Nesta Bar there needs to be music playing in the background so it isn’t underwhelming for guests when they turn up - which up until our last two nights, unfortunately was. This excludes the live singer / pianist. Positives; - A lot of care goes into the day to day treatment of the beach, sunbeds and towels - The staff are very friendly and warm and made us feel extremely welcome and taken care of. - there are a range of activities to get involved with including water sports and boat trips. - the entertainment and pool team are excellent and we wanted to give a special shout out to Jayda, Rafa, Rayon, JJ, Adrian, as well as Camille and Samuel (bar staff). And buffet staff; Anaya, Marion and Tasscia. - we thoroughly enjoyed the water aerobics - the entertainment was great overall and we particularly loved the steel band show, Bob Marley show and the sip and paint. The staff at this hotel made our experience as special as it was, so thank you to all!!
The water and sand were perfection. I meant it…best beach I’ve ever had the pleasure to visit. Food was definitely one of the better all inclusives I’ve had, and service was prompt, friendly, and accurate. However, the condition of the buildings, decking, and rooms were way past needing renovations. We were here nine years ago, came back for the first time last week, and it was exactly the same as it was nine years ago. I can’t blame the hurricane, as she didn’t hit Negril. But it is a shame because this resort sits on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Would we return? For the staff, food, service, and beach….yes. Pools were okay. Would we be happier and recommend to others if it had a massive renovation? Absolutely.
I am writing to formally express my disappointment and concern regarding the unprofessional, disrespectful, and hostile treatment I received from one of your employees, Raquel, during my recent stay at Azul Sensatori Negril. On the evening of May 23, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., my family and I arrived at the Mahogany Restaurant for a sit-down dinner. Our daughter elected to remain in her room and order room service. However, she was informed that the Palms Restaurant was dine-in only and that takeout service was not available. As a result, I decided to bring her a meal from the Mahogany Restaurant after my family and I finished dining. After retrieving a plate from the serving area and placing food on it for my daughter, I began to exit the restaurant. Before I could leave, I was stopped by Raquel. With the plate still in my hand, she approached me and demanded to know who had authorized me to take the plate out of the dining facility. I was immediately confused by her question and explained that I had simply taken a plate from the serving area, placed food on it, and was bringing it to my daughter in her room. At no point was there any signage indicating that certain plates were designated for dine-in use only or that separate plates were required for takeout. As a guest, there was no reason for me to believe I was violating any policy. In fact, my understanding was that room service meals are delivered on the same style of plates used throughout the resort. Therefore, it was reasonable for me to assume that bringing a meal to my daughter would not be an issue. What was most concerning was not the question itself, but the manner in which Raquel addressed me. Her tone was accusatory, confrontational, and completely inappropriate for someone working in guest services and hospitality. Rather than politely explaining any policy that may have existed, she immediately treated me as though I had done something wrong. I found her approach disrespectful and embarrassing, especially in front of other guests. Unfortunately, the situation did not end there. The following day, I returned to the Mahogany Restaurant. Upon seeing me, Raquel approached me and asked, in a dismissive and aggressive tone, "Are you the girl from last night's incident?" I was taken aback by her approach and immediately questioned why she felt it necessary to revisit the matter. I responded that yes, I was the guest involved in the previous evening's encounter and informed her that I did not appreciate the manner in which I had been treated. As both a paying guest and a Prestige member, I expected a much higher level of professionalism and courtesy. I then attempted to provide constructive feedback regarding how the situation could have been handled more appropriately. First, if there are restrictions regarding food being removed from the restaurant, there should be clearly designated takeout plates accompanied by visible signage advising guests of the policy. To my knowledge, there were no such signs posted at either the Mahogany Restaurant or the Palms Restaurant. Second, as a supervisor, Raquel should have approached the situation with professionalism, courtesy, and a willingness to educate rather than accuse. A simple explanation of the policy would have resolved the matter immediately. Instead, her behavior created unnecessary conflict and left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Based on my interactions with her, I do not believe Raquel represented the standards of excellence that Azul Sensatori and Prestige Membership promote to their guests. The entire experience was unpleasant, unnecessary, and deeply disappointing. Her conduct was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, making me feel unappreciated as both a paying customer and a loyal Prestige member. I respectfully request that this matter be investigated and that appropriate action be taken to address both the employee's conduct and the lack of clear communication regarding restaurant policies. I would also appreciate a written response regarding the outcome of your review. Lastly, I didn’t receive an exit survey when departing the resort in which customers usually receive. As a travel agent with many customers, there’s no way that I would recommend this resort in the near future to my customers. The overall property needs renovations as you can definitely see the effects from hurricane Melissa. My guests had their rooms flooded every day due to the rain. The original room that customer service placed us in or in bad shape. The couch furniture was so dirty, we immediately went back to the check-in desk to request another room.
We originally had a room which smelled strongly of damp very out dated woke up to no water. At breakfast the following day a young woman from front desk called Shanaye asked us if everything was okay with our room we told her about the smell and not having any water she said she would see if there were any other rooms available. We were moved to a swim up room which was a lot better but still outdated. There was only the buffet available for dinner most evenings and the choice was very limited. Most breakfasts they didn’t refill when they ran out. We did try to get in the Italian restaurant a few times but was booked up so no other choice but the buffet or room service which we used quite often. The best part of the resort was the staff and most would go the extra mile for you and we can’t thank them enough.
Some team members were extremely helpful and pleasant such as: Leshauna at the Front Desk, Camille at the Adults only pool bar, Alphanso at Nesta's , Jason at Coffee Shop, Calmore Bell man, Venessia the hostess at the Italian restaurant and Garyann at the Spa. The singer in the lobby was awesome, truly talented and very pleasant. The hot tub, main pool and adults only pool were great. The beach was lovely and the cabanas were a great touch. The beach attendant was efficient and friendly. The property was generally clean as was the room. There was a decent selection of food at the buffets and the specialty restaurants. We had an incident on property and the nurse as well as Petrina were exceptional with their follow up.
Our major concerns were: Some team members appeared upset and that we were more of a bother than guests requesting a service. The restaurants' outright refusal of reservations then got easily overwhelmed once groups arrived to be seated, thus long wait times for seating at all restaurants and meals ruining the dining experience. The room had areas that showed water damage on a small area of the wall in the bedroom poorly painted over. One of the room divider doors was damaged and would not close /move properly. The shower hose and head had the holster improperly mounted and there was a minor water leak at the connection between the hose and the shower head. There was a water outage in the morning which was rather disturbing throwing off all of our plans for the day as we had to wait to shower.
We stayed at the Azul May 2nd to May 9th There are a lot of pros and some cons that you need to know about that will save you hundreds of dollars! PROS: The resort is a little dated but the staff are amazing. Buffet and restaurant staff are very kind and attentive. Housekeeping did an amazing job cleaning the rooms and fridge was stocked daily. Beach staff was amazing. No towels cards needed and plenty of towels. The beach servers were very efficient and friendly. Food was really good and room service staff and food was excellent! The beach was one of the nicest I have ever seen . It was crystal clear and calm. I loved that everything was close by. The beach was steps away from the room. CONS : We arrived at 2:30 pm and we were told our room would not be ready until 5PM. Check out is at 12 :00 so what was the problem? They upselled us to a swim up suite for $ 820.00 CAD and since it was our anniversary we bought in. They put us in room 19003. There was a swim up bar in block 19 which was steps away from our room. We did not know this would be a nightmare until the next day. The swim up pool that we paid for was full of guests from other blocks. Drinking all day, sitting on our deck and NOT getting out of the pool for any reason. Don't upgrade and save yourself hundreds of dollars. Just use any swim up you want. After 2 days of this BS I asked to move to another block which was better since there was no bar. The front desk advised us that if we emailed Karisma they would provide a refund for the 2 days we were not able to use our pool. Front desk was not honest and never disclosed ALL guests had access to this swim up bar. We were constantly harassed by the time share people who would not take NO for an answer. I emailed Karisma and her response was a firm NO. She said we should have been thankful we had access to food, activities, drinks etc.. That's called an all inclusive idiot. I will never go to another Karisma resort ever again. SHAME ON YOU KARISMA !
Not luxury at all. Very ran down and room was dirty. Pubic hairs on toilet and floor. Shower very unstable enough to cause burns.bugs dirty furniture inside and on the balcony. Curtain bedside if platform...agaun not luxury at all. Complained to customer service. Got an email to send pictures to amd no compensation or active communication was given...bogus charges on my room...pool bathroom was a rapist gift room .no lights in the entire room. Poorly maintained. #OVERPRICED DUMP
I was not placed in the room that I booked and paid for. I was sold an “upgraded room”, so that I could be in an adult only building with the rest of my party. It was supposed to have an ocean view and a king size bed. I received a downgraded room, in building with screaming children that was nowhere near the rest of my party. There was a view of the wall of the building next door, not even a garden view, certainly no ocean view in sight, and there were two tiny beds, not a king size bed. And I was told that I could have the nicer room that I paid for the next day. But they still charged me for the nicer room for all the nights even though they did not provide the room all the nights, what a fraud. Also, apparently my room package came with a so-called “beach butler “ who was supposed to bring me drinks on the beach, only this butler never appeared. Just another thing that I was charged for that was not delivered. In addition, then I had to go through the extreme hassle of repacking my luggage, moving to a new room, unpacking again. I spent two days walking back and forth to the reception desk for too many problems. And the staff seemed completely unbothered by this inconvenience and that they screwed up my rooms and did not have my room available for me when I arrived. That is two days that I did not get to spend relaxing and enjoying the beach or the pool. Furniture was old and dirty, room in general overall state of disrepair. Key did not work at all, had to go all the way across the entire property to the front desk from building 12 multiple times for assistance getting into my room. Supposedly clean bathroom towels were wet Nothing about this experience was luxury or anything remotely close to a 5 star property. I gave one star only because zero is not an option.
I had the best stay with my kids (9 & 5 ) and my niece (21) ! We stayed in Building 11, 3rd floor, and it was absolutely AMAZING — the view was beautiful, the room was spotless always had fresh towels and topped up shower gels, the mini fridge is regularly stocked with water, soft drinks and beer, and the noise was kept to a minimum unless water aerobics was taking place by the swim out bar by building 11. The food was of a good standard with something for everyone, and if you’re a beach lover, the location couldn’t be more perfect. The service was excellent — big shout‑outs to Jada, Flamez, Tio, Jahnoy, Kaydene, the Mahogany restaurant team, Chef Michael and the lifeguards. Honestly, all the staff were amazing! Room service never failed me either! The atmosphere could be a bit livelier — things tend to quiet down after the evening show, and during the day it’s the entertainment team that keeps the energy up with dance classes and activities. As a younger guest, you might find it a little calm, but that’s understandable since the resort attracts a more mature crowd. Next time, I’ll definitely bring my Bluetooth speaker and create my own beach party! There were always sun-beds and towels available! Sometimes the staff roll up the towels and put them on the beds if the beach towel stations are unmanned but just ask someone around you if anyone's there and majority of the time it's vacant sun-beds with clean towels. So I travelled with extra towels for nothing! Overall, it was great value for money, and don’t believe every negative review, some people are just perfectionists. The bars were good too; if you’re particular about your drinks, bring your own Patrón or Hennessy. I had an amazing time at Azul, and I would absolutely come back! 🌺✨ .
The property was nice but it was not clean. My room was missing a lot of amenities and the staff were not very nice about supplying the items.
Some of the staff.
Loved everything and the fact thst you catered to vegetarian meals
Loved everything
The ambiance, the staff and the room were very nice
I did not like the fact that there is no elevator
The rooms were nice and a fabulous view. The beach is probably the best I had ever been to, I found the resort itself to be a little lacking in entertainment. The entertainment staff themselves were fabulous shoutout to Jada and Anton for being amazing. There just wasn’t much to do compared to other stays I’ve been at, maybe one thing a day. The nightly Entertainment felt a little dry, I missed the authentic Jamaican feel I’ve gotten at other resorts. The staff was incredible from the bartenders down to the house keepers. Great for relaxing, not so great for an authentic Jamaican feel.
The beach and the members sweet room
The first room room i went to, that place need renovation after that the dinner wasn't good so I wanted to leave from that night but the counter care it would be in the .morning so I wait.
