Okay Guesthouse Siem Reap

I wasn't sure about this place when planning my trip to Siem Reap. Customers' feedback on Booking.com has a mixed score. As soon as I checked in, all my doubts vanished. The building is beautiful itself, starting from its main entrance and continuing into its main hall where the reception desk is. All the wooden carvings surronding is just amazing. As if it is a museum, and not a hotel. My room was upgraded since it was the low season. Thank you for that! Very comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels; all the amenities were there. I spent 6 nights at this property, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Helpful staff, nice attitude, and overall pleasant atmosphere. I felt like a guest there, not a client. P. S. The wooden carving work on the bed. It's a piece of art.

In my opinion, the hotel's score is a bit underrated on Booking.com. Also, I was a bit puzzled when making this booking, and I couldn't find the property's name on Google Maps. The thing is, it has two names: Okay Guesthouse (on Booking.com) and Okay 1 Villa (on Google Maps). It's a good idea to equalize them.

The staff were responsive, helpful, and friendly. It was very good value for the price.

There were some missing things: no hand soap, shampoo or shower gel. The staff did provide hand soap for me when I requested it, though.

Fantastic decor with many traditional features. Very nice rooftop pool and relaxation area. Beuatiful entry and courtyard area.

It lived up to expectation. Clean! No bugs, no ants. Lift. Pool great. Left in peace. ATM🏧 on site. Tuk tuk aplenty. Shops nearby.

Can't find fault and love it for a Guesthouse.

Понравился дизайн скульптуры и картины.... Бассейн на 5 этаже.экскурсии при отеле по нормальным ценам.... Номер чистый... Есть чайник и главное- фен .

Это не касается отеля но все же....брал экскурсию от Экскурсия на озеро Тонлесап .... Мы до него, не доплыли....очень не понравились водители тук туков которые завышают цены...

Super hôtel, bien placé et magnifique piscine en rooftop ! Nous avons passé un agréable séjour. Le personnel au top, gentil et très serviable ! Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.

As the name suggests, it was OK. The room itself was a little basic but clean. It is budget friendly accommodation and conveniently located for an enjoyable tuk tuk trip to Angkor Wat. The restaurant and pool area, however, could have been from a different hotel, very nice. Once we got back to the hotel in the evening we didn't feel the need to leave as it was a great spot to relax and unwind.

The city view and satellite TV were not as described. In fact, the TV didn't even work, I don't travel to watch TV but it is quite nice to catch up on the news in the evening. Could only find one plug socket so the fridge needed to be unplugged when charging phones.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool and woodwork were nice.

Air conditioning wasn't great. We changed rooms because the first room had ants and a giant dead bug. The next room had no air-conditioning. The third room was barely cool. We booked massages and the therapists showed up over half hour later than our appointment time. Stayed 4 nights and no room service. Had to ask for toilet paper, water and fresh towels on the third day.

Great rooftop pool with very friendly staff and a delicious selection of some kind of meals. The rooms are clean and spacious.

The property is pretty big and spacious. The staff who I saw were nice.

The hotel had no energy. It was like walking into an up kept abandoned building. The pool is great on the roof but the bar up there closes at 4 PM. The breakfast was basic. No one cleaned my room. The power went off in the middle of the night which made sleeping a bit difficult in the heat.

Great value for the price. Sooo clean! Very kind front desk. Great rooftop space for hanging out either under cover or in the sun. Pool and restaurant seating both a great space for down time. Room didn't have a ton of natural lighting, but most visitors are out at the temple all day anyway. Tuktuks waiting outside entrance for $2 US around town. ATM at entrance gives both USD & riel. Same day laundry service. Plastic bottles of water, so not great on the eco part of the survey. Comfy bed. Very quiet at night. Elevator. Large room. Modern facility. I would totally stay here again.

Love the swimming pool on top and the size to room but the most impressive is the wood art work, like bed frames and interiors in the hotel are pure art with the finest wood

Some crazy dogs in a land near by barking way yo much, no worries they don't roam the street but they bark, just need to change bedroom to one on looking to the other street

the swimming pool on the rooftop was superb and also was the breakfast the staff very kind and helpful the hotel is positioned very close to the city center and every attraction the bed is very comfortable and the room is clean

The room was basic but suited our needs adequately. The hotel itself is up a small side-street, so quieter than other places. The pool & restaurant are on the top floor, offering a lovely view of the city. The breakfast was not a buffet, but it was quite nice. When we went out to early tours, they made us a box breakfast of bananas, water, & hard-boiled eggs with salt & pepper.

Other places nearby had much better restaurants, so we didn't use the hotel restaurant for anything except breakfast.

Small drawbacks. You can only turn off the lights from the furthermost point from the bed. No electrical outlets near the bed. Internet in my room in the corner was about 25kb per second. Closer to the lobby it was 15 mb.

Beds are extremely comfortable. The hotel is old but bery well kept, no damage anywhere and you can tell they take care of it. The toilet in our room blocked so we reported it to reception, within 5 mins guy came in and sorted it. Facilities are clean and tidy. They clean the room everyday if you require. Rooms are well soundproofed you can hardly hear anything outside (we were next to the lift and it didn't bother us).

Crap WiFi/Internet.

No restaurant or pool bar as advertised

We had a problem with our room and the staff fixed it super fast for us! We even received cold drinks, cold towel and fresh fruit for the waiting. The building looks super authentic and a lot of effort was spent on the details. If you need a tuktuk driver to e.g. the angkor temples I would recommend Smey! His whatsapp number is +855967270752. He speaks perfect english, is 50 years old and knows a lot about history (ancient and war) and politics. You get unlimited free ice cold water. Very cheap price.

The restaurant was closed (probably only open during peak season).

The hotel lobby and the Rooftop pool are gorgeous, in a very cambodian style. The people working there were very helpful and went above and beyond. Even letting us use the pool after our chek out time. The rooms were comfortable and clean. If you need to go anywhere there will be tuktuk drivers right outside.

The roof top pool. Room was large and bed comfortable. With aircon which worked even if not brilliantly. Could get refills of filtered water from reception to save on plastic waste.

No restaurant / bar/ breakfast. Wasn’t the cleanest place (rubbish under bed on arrival.) Shower kept falling off wall.

I like the room size and the very friendly front desk staffs. The guest house lobby is made of intricate carvings.

They lost power sometimes and the air conditioners are quite old so it does not cool down properly... good thing there is a celiling fan.

There was nothing to dislike

Beautiful old hotel. The Staff were very good in reception, and rooms were cleaned well. The outside decoration with panel carvings and statues, balconies wrought iron work, is really beautiful and very Cambodian.

They should have enough staff to manage the swimming pool bar. If there was the possibility of getting drinks and food there it would have been lovely. It's a shame as the bar is set up there but there's nothing in the fridges and no staff available. A shame that my window was onto another house !

A beautiful place! Breath taking interior, roof top terrace and swimming pool are the best. Very clean, the staff spoke good English and very helpful. Highly recommended!

Historical building

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is squeaky clean, rooms are good size, beds are comfortable, air conditioning works well, drinking water is provided, shower pressure is good all day. Rooftop pool is small but very nice. View form the pool is great especially during the sunset. Location is outside of the Siem Reap center, in a side street of a quiet neighborhood, with a variety of good restaurants within 10 min walk. For Pub street and river walk you need a ride that is only 5 min by tuk-tuk or Grab - both are always available and very cheap ($2 or less).

1. There is a temple right next to the hotel. If you are so unlucky (as we were for 2 days) that someone orders funeral services during your stay, you would be awaken at 4:30 AM by prayers that last until 9pm. Hotel isn't at fault but it is hard to swallow 2. Restaurant is closed = no breakfast. Next door is Cambodian eatery where you can get scrambled eggs. You have to walk for 5 min to get real coffee. The closest European/American breakfast that we found is 10 min away. 3. Warning - tiles in the pool are slippery

Excellent spacy room,very helpful personnel.A "cute" swimming pool to relax after a hard day wandering around .You can rent a bike,bicycle or even book a day trip, just ask the reception...You can also buy bus tickets for your next destination...

Very but very bad WiFi signal ,at least in my room,so I couldn't connect to the internet...25 minutes walking to the center of the city...

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Booked a scooter through the hotel with no problems. The WiFi was good. The air con worker great. The swimming pool on the roof was nice & clean. Good location for restaurants and places to eat.

Rooftop pool is glorious. The lobby is filled with beautiful hardwood. Many different restaurants around. Staff were always smiling, very helpful, and the rooms were kept clean.

The bed was extremely firm. The bathroom and shower were pretty tight.

The design of the hotel was the best - very beautiful. Friendly stuff, quiet at night, room was clean, air-conditioning was working fine, hot water in the shower. For us it was walking distance to the center but if for someone 20 minutes walking is too long - there are always some cheap tuk-tuks waiting in front of the hotel.
