Convenient location cleanliness and very helpful staff
Parking can be a problem
The cottage was perfect for our group. The bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was perfect for Blenheim and the surrounding areas. Breakfast was included at the attached pub and the food was absolutely delicious.
Breakfast cooked to order was excellent. The pastries were hot out of the oven and delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
All was great.
Location to Blenheim palace, perfect, good pub grub and a cracking breakfast, fantastic staff very attentive

The behaviour of the property owner left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. During our breakfast the following morning, he made an inappropriate comment suggesting we should 'try not to steal bathroom products.' This comment was made in front of other guests. Whilst still eating, he asked to enter the cottage to take some tea for the pub as his was finished and added that he 'wouldn't steal anything.' After checkout, I thanked him for our stay, only to then receive a WhatsApp message accusing us of taking a Cowshed product. We clarified we didn't take anything, and he apologised. However, by this point the damage had been done.
Excellent hotel they had thought of everything in the rooms. Staff helpful and very pleasant. Very clean and a great breakfast.
Staff were amazing and super accommodating
Stayed in the cottage. Snug tired but everything else very well equipped and spotless
Bar area and entrance need a refresh and the footage sug
The bedroom was quirky and the bed was comfortable. TV and sofa in the room was nice, better than sitting on the bed to watch. It was a bit noisy at night as our room was over the bar, but it did stop at 10pm. The staff were all great, really friendly and helpful, full marks to them
The lighting in the bathroom was poor and made shaving for him difficult and makeup for me almost impossible, especially as I have a facial scar that needs disguising. There is no parking there , despite it coming up on Booking.com when you stipulate parking
Everything about it, the staff were so friendly and loved the room, bar, breakfast, location, we couldn’t fault a thing!
Nothing
Location, cleanliness, polite and helpful staff.
Only little things, no flannels, cotton buds, TV very small
Lovely decor, comfortable rooms, great location.
The staff were excellent hard working and really helpful.
Amazing will definatly be back in the summer… we got to spend a night in the cottage and 2 nights in room 5 absolutely amazing ❣️
We wanted to stay longer 🙂
Parking
Everything! From the warm welcome, friendly staff and, for us, excellent location. The room was large, warm and the bed very comfortable
Nothing
Great location amd amazing staff. Fun and attentive. Room upgraded. Food amazing.
Nothing it was great place to stay
The staff were lovely. The breakfasts were delicious. The room was clean, as were the public areas. The location was great.
Stayed for 2 days, and there was no hot water on our second day/night. The lighting in our room was completely inadequate. We were extremely disappointed that there were no christmas dec's in the main bar/dining area whatsoever. No christmas atmosphere, but plenty in the bars elsewhere in the town. Disappointing.
We ended up in the cottage and it was perfect
Nothing
Wonderful location for visiting Blenheim Palace, large room, yummy breakfast, attentive staff (The owner personally checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed before the staff were given the rest of the day off for Christmas.)
Room was 😊💯 excellent Bed was comfy
Mooie ruime kamer met alle faciliteiten aanwezig! Zelfs badjassen!
Wel wat gehorig ivm veel verkeer langs de straat, mensen leken in het restaurant ook niet erg te waarderen. Wij hebben elders gedineerd. Ontbijt was prima!
The hotel was in a great location. Parking was great, it only cost us £2 to park from 5pm to 11am. The staff were so friendly and welcoming especially the Manager. Breakfast was included and we were very impressed with the delicious full English that we had. To top off an amazing stay, the owner gave me a bottle of prosecco to take home for my Birthday. Would definitely book again.
Good
Service
Staff all very friendly. Beds huge and super comfy! Very little noise disturbance from the pub and our room was above the bar, minimal noise from the road too. Dinner in the pub restaurant was very good - as was breakfast. Very accommodating. Would recommend.
Nothing. But it is worth a mention that parking is in the public car park - only a short distance walk and is free.
Really welcoming staff. Such a comfortable bed. Clean room. Just great!
Nothing
Good breakfast with professional happy staff, the little extra in the bathroom were great, love the cowshed bath products and the wooden toothbrushes and toothpaste. The evening meal was great and the staff were amazing.
Quirky. Lovely superior king room. Proper tea and coffee in the room. Gorgeous free standing bath. Luxurious products. Noise free. Very good breakfast and incredibly friendly and accommodating staff

Very friendly staff. Great location and lovely room. Lovely steak meal and one of the best Full English breakfasts we’ve ever have had.
Everything was great , the room, the staff, the food, but what spoiled our experience was a noisy fan which was left on in the kitchen below and we had little sleep because of it,
A really friendly and warm welcome upon our arrival. Staff couldn’t have been more attentive.

Beautiful very large suite room Lovely staff Lovey breakfast
Excellent-full cooked breakfast plus freshly squished orange juice.

Location and uniqueness
In need of decoration
Great location next to Blenheim Palace, comfortable amenities in a lovely, historic old pub. Lovely breakfast.
Steep stairs to take suitcases up but this is to be expected in a property of this type. The lovely young man that checked us in helped with our cases.
Location and staff
Some items in room . Blinds didn't function correctly
Very comfortable bed and nice room
We would have preferred a buffet breakfast. Service was slow because of not enough staff.
Loved the building, open fires and room was nicely decorated. Just need to relocate the main picture
Wonderful decor Enormous very comfortable room Delightful staff Excellent breakfast
Friendly Staff Great room Excellent breakfast

This is a fantastic place the location to Blenheim Palace was perfect. The staff are so friendly and nothing was too much effort. One of the nicest places I've stayed.
Everything was perfect.
Location
Expensive, but popular weekend for Blenheim Palace Christmas lights etc
Location, comfortable room, excellent evening meal and breakfast. Staff very friendly.
Lovely pub, friendly staff, room large and comfortable. Food was good and quick. Blenheim place on the doorstep. Lovely little town.
Central location- classy fitted fixtures and fittings in rooms.
Wow this is such a lovely place to stay fantastic staff very helpful the room was so big with a comfy bed very clean and everything you need great breakfast in the morning short walk to blenheim castle we would definitely go back and recommend Thank you for a lovely stay
Had trouble parking.
A lovely small hotel in Woodstock. The food was very good, the room was charming, comfortable and well laid out and the staff could not have been more helpful
Location was good for Blenheim Palace. Steve, the General Manager, was very helpful locating the free car park with us (came with us to find it). We were given the choice of 2 rooms, but went with the attic room which was very cosy. Access to that room might be tricky if you have problems with stairs but we were ok (both in our 70's btw). Breakfast was really good. Cooked fresh.
Watch your head on the ceiling in the attic room
It is in the heart of Woodstock. It is a lovely place to stay and the breakfast was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Can’t fault it.
Great location , friendly helpful staff , very comfortable large bed
The room although spacious did not have any windows that you could open, they were the original windows and they had second “glazing” to stop draughts and lower noise from high street traffic .. the room was very warm in the night and no option for fresh air was disappointing..
We were visiting Blenheim Palace and chose to stay at The Crown and we weren’t disappointed on arrival we asked about parking and they directed us to a free car park just around the corner. We really enjoyed our time at The Crown, our room was very nice and comfortable with everything we needed, we dined there in the evening and we really enjoyed the food. The breakfast next morning was amazing, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere in the pub was very welcoming. Woodstock is a lovely place too visit and Blenheim Palace which was literally just a short walk was well worth the visit.
Breakfast was nice. Large bed and separate tv area. Lovely staff.
Toilet flush was hanging off. Had to fix the shower head prior to showering. Sofa in front of tv wasn’t very comfortable. Furniture was tired and in need of repair or replacing. Windows had a strange magnetic cover to try and reduce the noise outside, there was condensation on the windows. Found what I assume was the previous occupants mobile phone in the draw along with an unknown clear liquid in a pot. (These were handed to the staff).
We stay 4 adults and a teenager in the Cottage next to the pub. It is perfectly located in the center next to the restaurants and walking distance to Palace Blenheim. Ideal to visit Oxford, the Cotswolds and so on. The cottage is really charming, well decorated, clean, nice ambiance, very well equipped. It was ideal to stay 3 days in the zone. Beds are comfortable and there is enough place for 5. Kitchen and sitting room are really nice. We were offered a bottle of prosecco. The team was very nice at our arrival even if we had to wait until 15h to check-in despite of having asked for an early check-in.
Fabulous, great food and staff, very comfy room, excellent coffee, highly recommended. Lots of parking in the village.
Very friendly, helpful staff, superb, massive dcomfortable bed with quality bed linen, quality toiletries and big, fluffy towels. Decent breakfast, but had run out of brown bread for toast. There's a Co-op 30 yards away, someone could have gone and bought some! Ideal location for visitors to Blenheim Palace, the entrance is about 250 yards away!
Booking.com lists this as having parking. THAT'S A LIE. It is right next to very busy public parking for which you have to pay, if you can get a space! On arrival, we were very luck to get the only remaining space. Even at 8:00 pm it was full up. Nearby street parking was also fully taken. OK, it's there in the small print but this property should not appear in the listing if the "Parking" filter is selected. The so-called Deluxe King Room is actually an attic, converted into a hotel room and as such has very restricted headroom at the edges due to the sloping ceilings. Accessing the tea and coffee making facilities required kneeling to avoid head injury. Access to the room is via several steep and narrow staircases, totally unsuitable for the elderly or infirm.
Good location.
The room wasn’t as luxurious as the photos suggest. There is now a large AC unit stuck in the window which really changes the vibe of the room.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Central location, within easy walking distance to Blenheim. Breakfast was good. Towels and dressing gowns were of a good quality, as was the bed linen
Requested quiet rooms but were given two rooms on the street, so noisy with both traffic&punters. Room was cold on arrival as heating was not on. Took all night to warm up. Bathroom radiator did not come on during the stay so was cold. Mattress felt old (springs creaked)and not very comfortable. Decor needs a refresh as walls were scuffed and chipped. Some mould in shower. Carpet had not been hoovered very well.
We had a family celebration at The Crown. The manager was amazing at making it such a special day and accommodating our wishes. Everyone enjoyed it. Thank you so much.
Cannot comment on the Crown Hotel Room booked but the replacement provided at the Hotel opposite (due to some unforeseen maintenance issue in our room prior to arrival day) was very suitable.
Great stay , all of the staff were friendly, helpful and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent
Extremely comfortable bed, amazing bath, lovely staff. Location couldn’t be better for Blenheim Palace. Breakfast was great.
Food in the restaurant was expensive for what it was. TV in the room didn’t work properly (but staff were helpful when we told them). Might have been helpful to have had some information in the room with tips on the TV / WiFi and recommendations in the local area etc.
We booked the 3 bed cottage beside the hotel as there were 5 of us , it was amazing , what a cute cottage full of charm and everything you need . We even got breakfast delivered hot and tasty in the morning. Staff were super friendly and we wish we had more than one night
Nothing
Lovely food and service, nice congenial atmosphere in the dining room, very comfy bed and slept very well. Caveat is that the common areas look quite worn now, needs a lick of paint and a refresh
Gorgeous rooms, friendly staff and only a 5 minute walk to Blenheim Palace. We loved our stay and would definitely book again.
Breakfast we'll cooked. Very nice.
Cereal / oats options not offered.
The location is perfect for visiting Blenheim Palace and is right in the middle of the village. My son decided to come with us and it was no problem changing our booking from 1 room to one of the cottages to accomodate us all. The cottage was lovely and very quaint showing off the character of very old homes in the UK. For Australians this is quite small! The owner excelled at communication asking if we had any special needs and made sure we had oat milk for my son and calling the next day to make sure everything was OK The hotel restaurant was excellent too with a good menu at reasonable prices. Breakfast was included and there was a good menu choice and it was delivered to the cottage too. Bonus! The bath in the attic room was great for soaking after walking the Palace too. Great fluffy towels and bathrobes aswell. Everything was very clean including the kitchen in the cottage which had plenty of crockery, pans etc if you wanted to cook. There was a supermarket over the road too. There was central heating in all rooms and towel heaters in the bathrooms whcih all worked very well.
The beds were a little hard for us. The cottage wasn't ready when we arrived at about 3.30 which was dissapointing as we had been told it would be, free drinks in the bar were given as a compensation.

Large room with huge bed, very comfy. The owner has taken great care with the decor in the rooms and hall ways. Tea and coffee facilities, fresh milk and water in the fridge. Big shower room with nice toiletries. Lots of shops and pubs in the town. Live music in the bar (on Friday nights) lively and two real fires making it lovely and warm, the music was finished by 10.30pm so no noise in the room. Being on a main road there was road noise in the morning.
Lovely room with high quality linen, furniture etc. Tea, coffee,
Only thing I would comment on is that the road is a little noisy in the morning and you might find that a problem if your room was at the front in the hotel. Otherwise, everything was superb. Especially Steve who is the manager. He couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome
Overnight stay. Steve, the manager met us on arrival and personally showed us to our room and also showed us the rear night entrance. All of the staff were extremely pleasant and attentive. Super room, clean and well furnished with a smashing roll top bath in the en-suite (Room 4) Nice breakfast in the morning in the sunny dining room. Will be back!
A pleasant stay, but getting scruffy. We have returned many times over 5 years , because of the nice rooms, lovely toiletries and towels and comfy bed. Plus friendly staff, delicious breakfast and great coffee! Points that still need improving: 1. Customer recognition 2. Breakfast/ bar window benches could be cleaner 3. Staff attention to detail; dirty plates on the table too long. But the positives still outweigh the negatives, it still one of our preferred stops.
Perfectly situated just a short walk from Blenheim Palace. Lovely room which was spacious and clean. Loved the fresh tea, coffee and little bottles of milk. Food was very good. Full English breakfast was made with meat from local butcher’s and was big enough to keep you going for the day. Good evening menu and fabulous pizzas. We were there for the horse trials and even though it was very busy, the staff were always friendly and very helpful. We attend the horse trials every year and have stayed in several different places in Woodstock. The Crown is definitely our favourite and we enjoyed it so much, we have already booked for next year.
The property was wonderful in every way. The room was even better than the photos, beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. Attention to detail was excellent and the staff can’t be faulted so friendly and couldn’t be more helpful.
Frühstück und Dinner waren excellent. Freundliches, sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Dusche hat sich als 1a Wellness-Erlebnis erwiesen. Sehr zu empfehlen!
The room was gorgeous! Great design, comfortable bed, gorgeous bathroom, very spacious, lots of nice details.
It was extremely loud at night. After pub close, staff stood outside talking loudly to each other, even referencing that they were going to wake up guests but deciding they didn’t care. A few hours later, a fire alarm/burglar alarm went off at the co-op across the street and stayed on for over an hour. The added double glazing on the windows helped the road noise, but the other things were just too bothersome. Didn’t sleep at all!
We had a lovely stay at The Crown. The room was very comfortable (fantastic bed - really comfy!!) with good sized en-suite shower room. Breakfast was tasty and with a good choice. The location of The Crown means that you are within easy walking distance of Blenheim Palace. We stayed for a long weekend and would certainly go back again. Julien and his team really looked after us.
Our room was a good size and had some nice features (large bed, roll top bath, fresh milk, nice toiletries). The pub was friendly and welcoming; nice outside space, decent food and lovely staff. Our room was clean, but it had no shower and was not as luxurious as the photos depicted or the description implied. The room was the attic room (no.5); it was accessed by a steep flight of stairs which would have been unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. The public areas of the hotel were not clean and very tired. All this may have been acceptable had it not been for the breakfast. The breakfast room seemed understaffed. Service was poor. The choice was quite good but the food was not hot and generally underwhelming. I would not stay here again.

We were upgraded and the facilities were very good.
No food served on Sunday except pizza until 7pm
Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent. Service too. 5*staff definitely. Very relaxed atmosphere. Bathroom products are lovely. Soap smelt incredible. Bedding top quality.
Blind in bedroom was broken so couldn't be closed and I thought bathroom could be cleaner. Sofas downstairs a bit past it frankly and the window seat bench cushion was sooo thin we got additional cushions to sit on. Not sure what the styling would be called but I describe it more towards shabby than shabby chic in places. However neither spoiled our stay. Alcohol pricing a bit higher than local we thought. Parking is a bit of a pain but the staff directed us to the public car park.
Great rooms great location
Maybe an earlier breakfast time
