MEALS: The Breakfast was enjoyable in terms of food quality. LOCATION: The hotel was relatively close to the town and on the Promenade. BAR: The staff were nice and selection of drinks was average to good.

BREAKFAST: While the food quality was good residents should be allowed to have self-service rather than everything being brought to you. ROOMS: While the bed was relatively comfy, the heater did not work and room rather compact. TV did not work fully: Some channels did not come through. VALUE FOR MONEY: I would have expected a bigger room and greater selection on the dinner menu.

The location to all amenities were perfect, they were brilliant with the Gluten Free breakfast, easy access to bus station to travel about,

Very nice hotel, very happy

All staff were very helpful, happy and polite. I only stayed one night and the evening meal was delicious, with plenty of choice in the menu. Other residents said how much they enjoyed the breakfast, which I couldn’t take advantage of as I had to leave every early. The bed was very comfy, the shower was powerful, which I like and stayed at a good temperature, as did the room. The hotel and surroundings were quiet, so I slept well, which I needed after a long drive and was ready to play in a golf tournament the next day. The hotel was very clean

There wasn’t enough room for me to park my car in the hotel car park at the rear, but as with any other issue - the staff happily sorted it out and I parked outside the front of the hotel in a bay which was free after 6pm

The breakfast was excellent. The Full Cookie was very filling, and tea, coffee and juice were also provided, along with toast, jam and butter. The staff were very warm, friendly and welcoming.

The room was not very clean, with some curly hairs and black spots on the bed, and the bathroom sink was partially blocked, so the water took quite a while to drain.

The communal areas such as the bar and dining area were well decorated and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful too.

Horrific parking access to rear of property, through a very narrow entrance between two walls, the car sensors were going crazy. Our bedroom, room 35 on the top floor, was in my opinion, very poor. It had good quality furniture, but needed decoration throughout, the bathroom was poor, no window covering and a shower rail that needed tightened and flooring that was ill fitting. A very poor and certainly not worth the money room.

the room was lovely, cosy and gorgeous furniture. I liked the way the tables were set out so you were not too near the next table. Friendly staff and good selection for the breakfast, as well as the evening meal.

It had been so sunny for the days before we went, unfortunatly the few days we went it RAINED. I was not keen on the town.

The breakfast was excellent

It was located just across from the beach and a nice 10 minute walk to the attractions, the staff were polite and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble ,the service in all areas were excellent .

The parking at the rear of the property was limited and I even got blocked in and had to wait for the return of a guest to be able to drive out of the grounds ,doesn’t hold many cars

Could have been cleaner in bathroom dirt on pipes under sink and toilet. BIG complaint was size of room with double bed could hardly get by at end. Also mattress terrible springs digging in back and when you moved springs very loud. Very old base. Big point no water in room. Costs pennies Also dimmer switch knob not on switch just metal screw

Great location, breakfast excellent.

Very pleasant sea-front hotel, with a bit of a "1970s feel", about 10 minutes stroll from the main centre. The bed was very comfortable and the room sufficient for our needs. Without exception, the staff were all friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. Handy car parking (free) at the back of the property, albeit the drive at the side of the hotel is a bit tight.

Fabulous week at this hotel, the owners and the staff are amazing friendly and nothing any trouble. Rooms are spotless clean. We ate in the restaurant a couple of nights and the food was delicious.

Was let down at breakfast. As a single guest i sat myself down as no one greeted me. I then waited nearly 10 minutes before one of the members of staff acknowledged me then took my order. Toast did not come out at same time as the cooked breakfast amd then had to ask for it again as it still hadn't been brought to the table.

The ensuite facilities were small. When using the toilet I had to close the sliding door otherwise there wasn't enough room to sit down and then it was still tight. The WIFI code wasn't mentioned when I checked in and wasn't in the room. Very small car park with little room to manoeuvre. There was no wardrobe as such just a rail with three hangers, of which one broke. The serving staff on Saturday morning mixed up my breakfast order

Brilliant location for what I needed for the weekend. Lovely room and comfortable bed and had a fantastic sleep each night. The staff were fantastic throughout my stay. Brilliant selection for breakfast and was very tasty and enjoyable. Lovely bar for a quiet drink in the evening without having to go into town

Friendly check in. Staff were extremely helpful . Hotel clean and welcoming. The room was comfortable. Bar served till 11pm at night to be able to grab a last minute bedtime nightcap. Breakfast was freshly prepared and generous. Waiting staff also helpful and friendly Ideal location out of the busy centre and but just a short walk in the beach front and beautiful revamped winter gardens.

Only criticism was the mattress was not very comfortable slightly thin and dipped in middle. Could do with replacing.

We had a large room with sea view which was nicely done up without losing a its old-fashioned charm. The staff were very helpful when some little issues arose. We also got a fan when we asked for one. The restaurant served excellent dinners. Breakfast was cooked to order and was also nice, we just missed fresh fruit. Beach access right across from the hotel.

Furzedown Hotel is not for noise-sensitive guests. There was a function on our first night which was extremely noisy. The music was so loud that our room literally vibrated. Thankfully it stopped after 10:30. Also lots of road noise from the street along the sea front. The stylish blinds on the windows didn‘t keep out the light or heat. Blackout curtains would have been a great help. It was impossible to get a steady water temperature in the shower, it went from mad-hot to ice-cold in rapid succession. The steep stairs were very hard on our knees and hips.

Absolutely everything from checking in to checking out..fantastic family owed hotel with genuine friendly staff,nothing too much trouble,great bar and gorgeous food..customer service awesome. Big shout out to William for his attentiveness.

Location fantastic.Staff all friendly and helpful.Food was delicious with good options including gluten free. We were able to adjust our breakfast to suit our needs.Guests are well catered for.

Bed was a standard double and slightly hard.Window blind clattered against the woodwork when the window was open. Standard issues with kettle not being filled from the sink taps but the bath taps. Car park is tight to access in an SUV though there is plenty of roadside parking and a long stay lighted car park over the road which are pay and display..Blue badge is free and unlimited parking.Staircases are manageable with a cane but there is no lift to rooms.I wouldn't recommend a wheelchair if staying overnight.Downstairs has wheelchair access fitting for the age of the building.
