The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly when we had an issue with our original room. We were shown several alternatives until we found the one that was suitable, and this was handled pleasantly and professionally. The room we eventually stayed in was clean, warm and comfortable. The hotel is a little dated in places, but it had every thing we needed and overall we had a comfortable stay. There was a good choice of mainly cooked breakfast and it was served hot. Dinner Friday evening was particularly good. We had fish and chips, but the chef had given the dish a little individual flair. The fish was fresh, the batter was lovely, and the mushy peas were unlike any I had tasted before, with really beautiful flavour. We also appreciated that the hotel adjusted our bill to reflect the change form our sea-facing room to a lower grade room,, without having to ask, which felt like a very fair and thoughtful response to the room issue.

My wife raised a concern about the smell in the room that she found quite unpleasant and it seemed to be coming rom the air conditioning unit/ventilation. A member of maintenance attended promptly, but the explanation given didin't really resolved her concern, so after dinner we asked to change rooms. The staff handled the change pleasantly and helpfully.

Would have liked selection of charcuterie at breakfast and low fat yogurt. Service was friendly and efficient. The lift was interesting!!! But emphasise the helpfulness of staff.

The room was lovely and clean with a very clean and spacious bathroom, the breakfast was delicious and made to order and the staff where very attentive. We had an evening meal also and the service then and food was also superb.

my only criticism would be I found the mattress a little to hard for my liking but that's just my preference I guess.

Very tired decor on approach and in the room. Wall paper peeling off on entrance to room, for the money I would expect at least some bottled water in the room, hairs in bath stained carpets. Very disappointing for the cost. Breakfast very standard deep fried fried bread.

As a person with disabilities it wasn't really catered for my needs. Yes, they have a chair lift to get into the property but there are extra stairs to get to to the lift. And it was a long walk for someone like me from my room to the lift. Brilliant hotel if you haven't got disabilities.

Fantastic traditional hotel , great food , room and location but the best thing about it are the staff all fantastic , highly recommend and will hopefully get to return

The location of the property was really good.

The property itself was good, our bathroom has a random step that all three stubbed our toe on (think they need to change that or put a sign up) we met two reception staff, one was really pleasant and the other was a bit rude. I asked about an evening meal and she looked my 5 year old son up and down and said they were fully booked (I’m not suggesting they wasn’t but not sure it required the look up and down)

Staff friendly and welcoming. Room comfortable and with air-conditioning.. Breakfast was greatly with a lovely selection to choose from..

Only down side was not much outside seating avaliable.

We loved the friendliness off the staff and the included breakfast was fantastic! Great location, loved that we were by a running track, the waterways and a short walk to the amusements on the beachfront! Massive carpark for those that needed it too. We will definitely be back.

Room was smaller & a bit tired for the money.

Had a lovely 2 night break here. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, ate in hotel restaurant for the first night and food was very good. Breakfast each morning was lovely with a lot of choices. Ideal location on the seafront just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Air conditioning in the room was very welcome with the hot weather we have been experiencing.

The rooms could do with a bit of an update, especially the carpets. Smart tvs would be a bonus aswell

Lovely spotlessly clean room with comfy bed and air conditioning which was very welcome with the weather being hot - good powerful shower in the bathroom. All the staff were very helpful and welcoming. Nice breakfast, freshly cooked to order with plenty of choice. Great location overlooking the seafront and private car park with plenty of space.

Best Hotel breakfast ever - with seating well laid out - nobody was scrunched up too close. The room and overall service was way above 'average'. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone considering it.

I rate the hotel 95 out of 100 but would have to mark it down slightly on the hygiene aspect related to dogs. These aren't normally allowed in eating/catering areas in most hotels but here they were free to sniff around tables and food platters - not good.

The only reason I didnt give them a 10 out of 10 was the same track was being played on repeat the whole time I was there (bar and communal areas), as a neurodivergent the repetition was almost painful. Otherwise the perfect stay. Thank you Imperial hotel!

Food was great. The help given to my disabled husband was great - staff kind and attentive. The food was fab, and the room excellent.

A vertical grabber in the shower is better than horizontal, for safety.

We had a wonderful stay at the Imperial Hotel in Great Yarmouth and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was amazing throughout our stay. We treated ourselves to the Summer Afternoon Tea, which was absolutely delicious and fantastic value for money – there was so much food that we certainly didn't leave hungry! The service was exceptional from start to finish. Every member of staff was friendly, attentive, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Breakfast was equally delicious, and we were especially touched by how welcoming they were to our dog. He was greeted with a bowl of fresh water and even a sausage at breakfast, which was a lovely gesture. Our air-conditioned room made for a comfortable night's sleep, and the hotel's fantastic location made it an ideal base for exploring Great Yarmouth. This is a truly dog-friendly hotel with amazing staff, excellent food, and outstanding service. We had a lovely break and wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommended!

Staff very friendly and room was beautiful.

There were some areas in the room that needed better cleaning. A bit of dust/dirt around the bottom of the wash hand basin pedestal, which was more than a day or two old. Cobwebs in a few places but that was ok with me.

Great location. The room met our expectations with a great sea view and very comfortable, the food was excellent, great breakfast with a very good selection. Dinner was also very good. The Terrace Restaurant is a great location. Also enjoyed the novel old-fashioned lift. Good value for money. Will stay again.

The hotel was good for me one night, but the decor needs updating and the sea view room didn’t worth £170. A basic 4 star

We would of liked our room to have been bigger.

What stood out was the friendliness of all the staff. Breakfast was fantastic and included in the rate we booked. General cleaniness is great throughout the hotel. Evening meals we had were really good. Great location for the Venetian Waterways and not too far to stroll into the centre. Free car parking which is a bonus.

Looked like a refurbished room with a good walk in shower in the en-suite. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Nice sea view.

Room was smelly especially the bathroom and in all in need of airing before use. Antiquated DIY lift. Cramped and inadequate bar. Very expensive restaurant lacking in ambiance..

Staff were extremely welcoming, attentive to guests treating guests as old friends. The breakfast service was really good. I had the Norfolk kippers which I would recommend. The hotel is close to the beach and amusements.

The room was quite small for a family room. I didn't understand why the kettle was in a cupboard on the floor.

Great food, both breakfast and dinner. A good choice for breakfast, cooked to order. The Sunday roast dinner was marvellous and reasonably priced. Restaurant staff are very friendly and approachable. We would be happy to dine there again.

The room was a bit smaller than expected for 3 guests. The bathroom was too small. The sink was small with no shelves or storage space above for toothbrushes etc. No space to keep towels, so they kept falling on the floor. There was dust on multiple surfaces in the room.

The location is great a short walk from the centre and right on the beach front. The staff were brilliant, no issues with the personnel.

The hotel is dated. The beds were rock hard. Its sounds bad but the premier inn along the seafront would have been an upgrade. Room was very small, shower/bath room was large but the bath was tiny.

The room was elegant, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was superb.. very high quality and perfectly cooked. Victoria, one of the breakfast staff, was wonderful.. both friendly without being overbearing, and helpful.

Staff go out of their way to make your experience an exceptional one.

Not enough vegetarian options, didn’t like /eat meal as it really didn’t taste nice still being charged tho, overly food not the best ( apart from breakfast although even there my child found a hair in and me some bits of plastic that I was told to be bone ( it was crescent shaped and odd) having said that it was dealt with promptly And shower very oddly done - the sealing around sticking out and the top shower constantly dripping ice cold water even when trying to use the wall shower unit … water from walk in shower room then basically running out all over toilet room

Everyone and everything was exceptional. Very welcoming on arrival. Clear and helpful. Great room. Clean and spacious and airy. Late night bar, great breakfast- Great location The owner we met - Great social skills. Showed love for his hotel - and mentioned he has a mattress man who comes and checks the beds every 6 months. I mean! Whhhaaaat! Bed comfy. Drinks good prices and breakfast was amazing. So much choice and all included We took my dog and we had doggy treats on the bed. They even appreciated a little silly drunk vibes. Would highly recommend. We felt comfortable and relaxed. And enjoyed a great Stay

Lovely Victorian type seaside hotel with many original features yet tastefully refurbished in a modern style. Lovely room, air-conditioned, huge bed, great breakfast, large car park.

Had to lower the score because whilst the room had a lovely new shower, the water was cool to luke warm. Not warm enough for a shower. Very disappointing.

Good room size and comfortable bed. Breakfast in the Terrace room was excellent.

A couple of small points. The bath / shower was a bit cramped. Also, the drainer on the bathroom sink didn't appear to work.

Lovely seafront hotel with great views and independent charm however it's the staff who elevate the rating. The breakfast was superb too.
