We suppose to have 4 nights here but due to the amazing experience we extend our stay to 6 nights… The hotel is well decorated with the cultural design, the art gallery gives you a welcoming atmosphere, the room is very spacious and extremely clean, the beds are comfortable, it’s the typical Waldorf hotel standard; all the staff are very friendly and provided exceptional hospitality, especially Clair who is very helpful introducing us the landmarks, the food and histories of the city, asking what we need everyday with quick responses; the staff Caiyun and Mr Yang from the buffet breakfast also very patient, always smiling, keep checking if we have anything we need for food orders, attention to details, thank you for the great service and brings me and my family Beijing trip a good memory for my mum’s 80’s birthday, we will come back here if coming to Beijing 😊

It’s a maze and hard to navigate, staff are unhelpful and some even rude. Our rooms facilities like tv wasn’t working same with air conditioning and bathtub was unclean. I also arranged for my partners 30th birthday decorations however somehow they even got this wrong, writing on the card my name!

The hotel looks good in the lobby, but quite dated for the price. The breakfast is just ok for that price.

The hotel staff brought three polices to check my luggage and our passport during night time, which I felt my privacy had been compromised.

We had a very nice stay. All staff were very helpful, especially CastielMu and Jason from Concierge, and the ladies in the breakfast room.

We had a very positive stay at the Waldorf Astoria Beijing. There was initially some miscommunication regarding our room arrangement, but the staff responded immediately, resolved the issue efficiently, and offered thoughtful gestures that we greatly appreciated. The support from the Concierge team was excellent throughout our stay, and we also had a wonderful dining experience at the hotel’s Cantonese restaurant. While not everything may be perfect at all times, what impressed us most was the staff’s genuine commitment to responding quickly and doing their best to resolve any issue. Their professionalism and attentive service made a real difference to our overall experience. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the Waldorf Astoria Beijing.

Great location, a rather comfortable room, and a nice breakfast.

The room was a bit old, with an outdated TV; the Wi-Fi was rather slow. We also had a relatively unpleasant experience with the service in the restaurant, but the staff later offered remediation.

Если честно в это пребывание консьерж Катерина увеличила удовольствие от пребывания на 300% она всегда сама звонила/писала, бронировала спа, рестораны. Очень учтива , внимательна, вежливая, потрясающий человек. Мы остались очень и очень довольны. Мы каждый вечер заказывали в номер ужин- это очень удобно с ребенком, было вкусно, даже дети остались довольны в Китае сложно накормить детей. В целом весь персонал очень внимательный. Катерине отдельное спасибо, особенно за помощь с переездом в другой отель.

Everything. This hotel is one of the best where we’ve ever been to. I must admit that the bed is as soft as cloud, this is the best bed in the world, literally. Breakfasts are delicious, the service is excellent.

This was my first trip back to Beijing in a long time, and I chose to stay at the Waldorf Astoria. From the moment we arrived, everything started off on the right note. Getting out of our ride, entering the lobby, and checking in was smooth and efficient. Unfortunately, I lost access to my phone’s data shortly after arriving, which, in China, made it nearly impossible to do anything. I was stressed and trying to figure out a solution when two wonderful concierge team members, Sanda and Kate, stepped in. They went above and beyond to help me get connected again. Without their patience and kindness, navigating the city would have been extremely difficult. They also helped us secure restaurant reservations, which made our trip much more enjoyable. They truly turned a stressful situation into a positive experience, and I can’t thank them enough. The room was comfortable and about what I expected from the brand. While it was well maintained overall, I did notice some wear in the interiors, and there was a bit of residue in the shower. I do have very high standards when it comes to room cleanliness, so this may not bother everyone. The gym is on the smaller side, and although I didn’t have a chance to use the pool, it looked nice. Breakfast was included with our stay. It was very busy during the time we went, so perhaps we just caught the morning rush. The breakfast area felt a bit small for the number of guests, and service understandably seemed stretched. The staff were constantly running around, and our empty plates weren’t cleared while we were dining. That said, we were on vacation and not in a hurry, so it didn’t negatively impact our overall experience. What really stood out throughout the hotel was the consistently warm and welcoming service. Whether it was the concierge, front desk, or staff greeting us by the elevators and in the hallways, everyone was genuinely friendly and eager to help. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. While there are a few areas that could be improved, the outstanding hospitality—especially from Sanda and Kate—made all the difference. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Beijing.

Location, rooms and staff

Would love a sauna and pool needed caps?

The hotel failed to provide the accommodation conditions stated in the booking confirmation. My reservation was for 3 guests, which means the hotel was required to provide 3 sleeping places and 3 breakfasts. Instead, upon arrival they offered a non-folding sofa that would barely fit my Yorkshire Terrier, let alone a 12-year-old child. At check-in, the hotel demanded an additional payment of approximately €600 to provide proper accommodation. I refused because the booking clearly included accommodation for three guests, and the hotel was obligated to provide three sleeping places and three breakfasts without any extra charges. Rather than honoring the confirmed reservation, the hotel tried to charge more money on arrival. This is completely unacceptable for a luxury hotel. I cancelled my stay and checked into the nearby another hotel instead, where they immediately provided proper beds and breakfasts for all three guests without any issues. This experience was extremely disappointing and far below the standards expected from Waldorf Astoria. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Excelente hotel en una ubicación inmejorable. Puedes ir andando a la ciudad prohibida y al lado de comercios y centro comercial con restaurantes. El desayuno International es muy bueno. Waldorf está al nivel que se espera y no defrauda

Excellent emplacement. Chambres spacieuses et très bien décorées, avec beaucoup de goût et beaucoup de soin.Salle de bain très agréable. Le bar de hôtel est très bien, à la fois pour boire un verre ou pour prendre un plat rapide. Le personnel de chambre est parfait!

La brasserie dont la carte est très limité en option végétariennes.

Perfect from start to finish, as the first stop in our family’s summer China vacation. The staff and service are top notch - always professional and often going above and beyond to make our kids and us comfortable. We stayed in a double queen room with a great view of the main avenue. Highlights: As we had arrived at 6am after an overnight flight, the staff was helpful to arrange a late morning check in for our kids to nap. I could easily text the front desk (in English and Mandarin) with questions and needs. Tony was our favorite greeter, full of great shopping and local recommendations. The breakfast was exquisite, and our servers knew our kids names and favorite food: waffles. We took full advantage of the fitness center and pool at early hours (high jet lag). There are luxury hotels, and then there are luxury hotels that make your family feel like home. This one is the latter. We will definitely return, thanks Waldorf staff!

This hotel is Excellent everything: Suite, decor, color coordination etc. balcony suites on top floor have excellent views. The pick-up service at airport from hotel was great - they meet you at the aircraft gate. Service everywhere at the hotel was outstanding. Nice BF and Chinese restaurant for dinner. Very centrally located in Wangfujing with pedestrian street 2 mins walk away. Overall, one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. While the location can feel quite busy, it’s conveniently close to most of Beijing’s main attractions, making it easy to get around.

The room was big and comfortable with ample space for my friend and I. The services from the staff, especially Willow was incredible! We were well taken off and the facilities were great! I tried the Chinese restaurant and the dishes were great too! I will surely come back for more stays in the future!

Spectacular service in a truly 5 star hotel. I was greeted by Young at the front desk upon check in and she gave me a quick tour of the facilities including the spa downstairs & a Michelin stared restaurant upstairs. I arrived early in the day & my room was not quite ready so I enjoyed lunch. Later on Young sent me detailed tips & instructions on sights I had hoped to see on my first to Beijing helping everything go smooth. Sanda Bondari ended up being super helpful as well, downloading the DiDi app for me, much like Uber, so I could get EZ rides everywhere, including to the Great Wall & back. She is from Moldova, a small country in Europe that I have always wanted to visit so we had lots to chat about. Very friendly & professional staff at the Waldorf Astoria. The rooms, bar, dining are all top notch & the breakfast buffet is out of this world. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Beijing.

Everything about our stay was excellent, from the convenient location to the outstanding service and cleanliness. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, the breakfast was good, and the staff was always friendly and helpful. Although English was somewhat limited, the staff went above and beyond to assist us using translation apps. We would gladly stay here again.

We had a thoroughly delightful stay at the Waldorf Astoria Beijing. The location is absolutely spot-on, making our daily jaunts to the Forbidden City completely effortless. The breakfast spread was top-notch each morning, and both the gym and indoor swimming pool are excellent, well-maintained facilities. The absolute highlight, however, was the impeccable service—most notably from Ms. Katerina, our personal concierge. She looked after us with the utmost care and sorted out an issue we encountered with absolute efficiency. She is a credit to the hotel! Our only slight amusement was the guest hallways, which are rather dark and put one in mind of a bit of a maze 😆. That minor quirk aside, it was a first-class experience, and we shall certainly return.

Located in Beijing’s Dongcheng District, the Waldorf Astoria Beijing exceeded my expectations. There was a security checkpoint before reaching reception when we first arrived, which I found a bit unusual since it was not there for the rest of our stay. I assumed it may have been related to a world leader being in town that week. Check-in went well, although our upgraded room was not quite ready upon arrival. While we waited, we stopped for drinks at Peacock Alley, the hotel’s bar, which was spacious and had attentive hostesses that made the experience enjoyable. Once we got to our room, it was clean and felt both elevated and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and the robes were a nice touch of luxury that felt on brand for a Waldorf Astoria stay. The daily breakfast buffet was by far the highlight of the experience. The hotel is also in a great location—walkable to so many shops and restaurants, and very easy to find.

Outstanding facility. The Waldorf Astoria lives up to its brand name. Staff, food, atmosphere - all were excellent. The rooms offered every amenity imaginable. We are USA tourists and stayed there 4 nights. The breakfast was particularly outstanding. We ate at the Michelin rated restaurant on the 3rd floor 3 separate times.

Доброжелательная и гостеприимная атмосфера, созданная сотрудницей Екатериной, запомнятся нам надолго. В целов отель расположен отлично, начиная от рецепшена заканчивая номером - все стильно чисто и удобно. В номере есть все - продумано и реализовано идеально. Завтрак отличный. Ночью, не смотря на центральное расположение отеля, тихо. В общем целом отель понравился на все 100%. Еще раз отмечу сотрудницу Екатерину - такие сотрудники и обеспечивают уют и теплоту для гостей.

The Staff are truly exceptional, a very heightened sense of service and willingness to assist with whatever guests need. The breakfast is also exceptional and the flower arrangements in the hotel add to the pleasure of your visit. The room was very large, and well appointed. The lighting does require some effort to master.

Veníamos de otro hotel de 5 estrellas muy cercano a 5 minutos, en el que realmente estabamos bien y nos cambiamos al Waldorf pensando que era mejor, aun teniendo sitio en el otro hotel. Desconociamos que nos llevariamos una gran decepción. Mi mujer y yo queríamos cenar en el restaurante de 1 estrella Michelin del hotel y nos dijeron que estaba completo, preguntamos si había sitio en "La Braserie" el que está en el looby y le dijeron que tampoco. Subimos a la habitación, nos cambiamos y reservamos para cenar en un estrella michelín cercano al hotel. Cuando bajamos a recepcion mi mujer volvió a preguntarles y ahora le dicen que si hay sitio. Finamente mi mujer decidió no salir del hotel y anular la reserva en el otro restaurante, por lo que cenamos en el hotel. Cual fue nuestra sorpresa que la mayoría de las mesas estaban libres y nunca llegó a llenarse. Mi mujer y yo fuimos los últimos en dejar el restaurante. Es decir descaradamente no querían que cenaremos en ese restaurante. Quizá porque mi mujer y yo veníamos de ver la ciudad vestidos de sport. Tal fue nuestra sorpresa cuando subimos a cenar elegantes y los que estaban cebando de sport era el resto de clientes. Señores, un hotel de categoría, da soluciones a los clientes, no les ponen trabas. En el supuesto caso de que el Hotel estuviese lleno de verdad (no era el caso), siempre ( y así nos ha pasado en otros hotels de 5 estrellas) al cliente se le da una solución, por ejemplo con un restaurante externo y nunca se le dice que no. Un chasco. Sinceramente no volveremos. Además el desayuno era muchísimo mejor en el hotel anterior y además con vistas.

Breakfast was excellent with an extensive menu catering for tastes/diets/ages. The staff was attentive and helpful even when communication was challenging with language barrier (eg. Non-English speaking staff sought help when necessary). Our room was a good size and in a corner position letting in loads of light from three separate windows; nice to have the option of ‘being part of the outside hustle and bustle’ or simply close the curtains and hide away.

We found the concierge difficult to communicate (language barrier) with and therefore chose not to use this desk as a source of information.

I had emailed the hotel at the time of booking asking for joining rooms and received a reply saying that was based on availability- however when we arrived we were informed there are NO joining rooms at the hotel at all- I would not have booked the hotel if I had known this. We stayed in 2 rooms and one of the rooms unfortunately smelled of cigarette smoke. (There was an air filter in the room which we turned on but it didn’t fully remove the smell.) The rooms are spacious with very nice bathrooms. Aside from that- the location of the hotel is excellent- walking distance to the Forbidden city and excellent Peking duck at Siji Minfu. The hotel recommended 1949 restaurant to us which we went to and it was soooo over priced- the most expensive meal of our trip- I do not recommend it. I think this is a solid hotel but not 5 stars. There is a photo of ‘Hutong courtyard villa’ with the photos of this hotel and that was nowhere to be seen on site- I do not think that is a photo of this hotel unfortunately — that was also part of why I had booked this hotel along with images of super kid friendly decked out rooms- which we also did not receive or witness.

This was my fifth stay at Waldorf Astoria Beijing. I’ve seen a massive improvement in their service across the board, particularly in the past 12 months. All members of staff are hospitable, and proactive, genuinely looking to make your stay as special as possible. I want to highlight the work of the housekeeping team on Level 10 in particular. Each day, they filled one of our rooms with small gifts like balloons and snacks - this really made our 5 year old daughter feel special. Thank you so much - I hope this message makes it back to that team. Breakfast has always felt a little chaotic here, as the space is relatively small. However, over the past 12 months, they seem to have increased the number of staff on duty, and this has improved quite a lot. The food options at breakfast remain really high quality. Overall, the stand out difference now is that each individual staff member seems much more empowered by management to help improve the guest experience. It really shows. Service levels here are now one of the best I’ve experienced across China. We will be back.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of Beijing, making it easy to explore the city and enjoy nearby shopping and restaurants. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the outstanding service. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Every detail was handled with great professionalism and kindness. A very special highlight was our dinner at the Zijin Mansion, where we celebrated my husband Valdir’s 59th birthday. The experience was simply exceptional. The food was exquisite, beautifully presented, and full of authentic flavors. The atmosphere was elegant yet intimate, and the team made sure the occasion felt truly special. Their attention to detail and thoughtful service turned the evening into a memorable celebration we will cherish. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of high-quality options, combining both buffet and à la carte dishes. Overall, it was a flawless experience — a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and heartfelt service. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Beijing.

I stayed five nights at the Waldorf in a premier room overlooking the street. The room was beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was enormous and very modern. The hotel service was top-notch, especially Caffrey the Concierge. He was incredibly helpful and answered all my questions about Beijing, especially since it was my first time there. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Beijing, just a 10-minute walk from the Forbidden City. There are also many high-end shops and department stores right outside the hotel. My only suggestion is that the breakfast lobby can get quite busy in the mornings due to the limited space and food choices. Otherwise, there’s nothing negative to say about the hotel.

The staff were friendly, room was sparkly clean and breakfast was delicious. The hotel was walking distance to Wang Fu Jing.
