He earned my trust in such a short time and truly exemplified exceptional hospitality.

We arrived before check-in time got to the front desk 3 minutes before, and still we spent over 40 minutes to get checked in. My room was still not ready even after 4:30 pm, and our check-in time was 3 pm. The group I was with got split up at the last minute, we were told. Because checking in was so long, we couldn't get to set a reservation for the restaurant 🙄
By the time we got settled, the pool was almost closed. The next morning before 12 pm, two persons from our group got locked out of their room. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I would never spend money there again. I felt robbed 😪

The staff were welcoming, friendly, and professional. The grounds were well-maintained, and the food was great! The power briefly went out and affected the cable TV for the last 1 and a half days of our stay, but we weren’t in the room much anyway. It is absolutely beautiful, and I would definitely stay again.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026My wife and I honeymooned here this last week. Amazing hotel, beautiful, tons to do, and extremely friendly staff. We were created with cool towels upon our arrival & cranberry tea. Our bags were whisked away while we checked in and received a tour of the property, then once in our room our bags were delivered.
Though it is a distance from MBJ (~1hr) & Ocho rios (~45 mins), there’s tons to sight see on the drive into the resort. This hotel is a bit isolated so there isn’t anything really in walking distance. If you plan to only stay on the resort and do pick-up excursions, no worries! My wife and I found a Sharkey’s 9 minutes from the hotel and planned to have lunch but taxis were ~$100 round trip. We opted to have it delivered instead, which took about an hour and was HOT upon arrival still. The store on site also made it way to find all we needed.
As far as the rooms, they are amazing. Beds are a bit firm but still quite comfortable, the water pressure is great, AC is freezing, and housekeeping thoroughly cleans your room everyday. The only issue we had is the stopper in the tub would not close all the way (not a big deal) but it prevented us from utilizing the Jacuzzi tub during our stay.
The hotel itself is quite large but it flows really well. The luxury side is all that is currently open so roughly half of the hotel is still under construction (I assume from Melissa recovery). While there are noticeable “walls” blocking the construction, they do not disrupt the vibe or view at all and we never heard a power tool once. There are still three pool options despite this, with most people congregating at the pool with the bar. Everyday there is a full hour by hour calendar of events held at the pool by the entertainment team (amazing) including water aerobics, dancing, volleyball, couples trivia, etc. There are also nightly event from a pool foam party, to a magic show, rock concert, circus show, and a paid show the highlights the culture of Jamaica. For restaurants, we enjoyed the Jasmine buffet many nights… tons of options, pretty good quality, and quite flavorful honestly. There are a few other options that require reservations including an Indian restaurant, Mediterranean, and a Brazilian stake house. During the day the Brazilian stake house (open air & near the pool) sometimes offers breakfast and lunch, as well. In addition to those options, every day by the pool they have a bbq with jerk chicken, salad, fruit, and rice & peas, as well as small pastries in the lobby area.
There are bars scattered throughout the property, with the lobby bar serving top shelf at a cost. Regardless of which bar we went to, there wasn’t a drink they did not know how to make.
The beach was also beautiful but there of course are people that meet you as soon as you walk down the steps to try and sell you things… the good stuff, specifically. Smokey is there almost every day and is a good guy, who likes to sale you on “farmer prices”. My wife and I were engaged in punta cana and the guys there are the beach were extremely aggressive; not the case in Jamaica. They will engage and they will be direct in asking if u want something but they are still cool once you say no and will go about their business. The beach itself was nice but very rocky and there is. A LOT of kelp areas. Bring beach shoes! Current is also pretty strong but the rocks break it up a bit, it doesn’t get deeper than 3-4 feet either so very comfortable swimming area. Near the rocks are a ton of tropical fish which was really cool as well. Several beach options on site, all vary a little bit. If you walked west as far as the construction fences will allow you, you will come up on the free kayak & snorkeling location. Snorkeling requires a $50 hold, but you get it back when returning the gear. Kayaking was fun but water was rough.
All in all, we had an amazing 6 days at this resort and really enjoyed the mix of relaxation, activities, and authentic Jamaican experience.
Would recommend!

Did not like the view I didn’t pay to see that
If you never experienced an all inclusive you would probably think this resort was ok. For someone who experienced 25+ all inclusive resorts you would think otherwise.
The property is clean and the employees are friendly enough. The pool was clean with plenty of lounge chairs. Now for the reasons for my disappointment.
When you go to an all inclusive you should not have to pay extra for STANDARD international brands of alcohol. The drinks using the house brands are not good. Only serving Red Strip beer without paying for an alternative brand is ridiculous.
One afternoon the pool bar had a problem with the tap system and couldn’t serve beer. Another time they were unable to serve frozen drinks.
The beach could best be described as a lagoon. Water shoes were needed to access the water.
If you didn’t book your dinner reservations at the time of your arrival you were stuck eating the buffet every night. The food there was ok but much of it was at room temperature.
The room was understaffed. The servers with a few exceptions would take your drink order, serve it and not return. Can’t understand why they just don’t have self service for coffee, beer and wine.
The servers seem to be unmotivated. Perhaps it’s because the majority of the patrons unfortunately never tip.
In closing I hope for the sake of the employees and the country in general the management steps up and recognizes their shortcomings. Perhaps some upper management Hyatt personnel could visit incognito and come up with a better business plan if you hope to have return visitors.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2026Went in May for my birthday. Location over 1 hr away from airport, which is not that bad. Half of the resort shut down for renovations while the opened part could also needs repairs. Barely any lift was working on any given day, food at the buffet was running out and took long to be replenished. Barely any fruit, and fruit always with skin. Bar- wanted a traditional Jamaican cocktail - any one I mentioned they could not make for lack of local products. So standard cocktails were on the menu al day. Beach - Horible is an understatement. Even what they have it is not cleaned nor leveled. They do not care at all about the beach. Pools ok, but they close them at 7 pm till 9 am. For cleaning apparently which it is not done properly- sand and other objects in the water. Oh and the club membership- they chase you from the get go and only leave you alone if you straight up refuse to attend their sessions. Time share at it’s best… need better management, better supervision and more dollars invested to bring this to a 5 star like they claim to be.oh and they run a show on Friday for which they charge an additional $20. And I guess that’s the only good show and what we saw lacks to be desired.

Clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms with ample furniture, large balconies and you'll even get robes and slippers! Ample towels and toiletries, also. Very breezy / windy. Lounge chairs are clean. Pool / Beach towels are clean. Lifeguards are on duty. Lots of nature spots to admire and enjoy. During my stay, I experienced on-site construction (drilling) noise, extreme condensation on the tiled floor when the A/C was turned off (very slippery to cause falling), noisy housekeeping carts running through hallways at all hours, post Hurricane Melissa ceiling lifting that when the wind passes through, there's a squeaking noise; construction tractors and trucks next door, highly unpleasant smelling decorative pillows / cushions (on the bed) as well as sleeping pillows along with intrusive maintenance personnel and housekeeping, even with an active "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. Although there was a wait of 1.5 hrs for the room to be ready, the check in and check out process was quick. Dining for individuals who adhere to plant based living and a preference to avoid certain additives, will experience challenges. The options / variety for that community is quite limited. Dining staff is not very acquainted with the menu or ingredients and guests who value and are accustomed to service protocols in this area, may very well be unhappy with expectations and outcomes. They will find that disabilities in that area feel uncommon and forgotten. It may be recommended to coordinate meals prior to, or upon arrival. Staff is friendly, upbeat, professional and courteous; however, doesn't seem very guest / client satisfaction oriented. If any of those items mentioned are not heavily weighted withon your vacation planning, it is a great property to visit.

Formal Complaint Regarding Missing Personal Property and Unsatisfactory Customer Service
I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding a recent stay at the Runaway Property and to request compensation for a personal item that went missing during my visit.
Following my departure, I discovered that my hat was missing. I promptly reported the matter and sought assistance through the appropriate channels; however, despite my efforts to resolve the issue, the item has not been recovered, and no satisfactory resolution has been provided. Given these circumstances, I respectfully requested $200 in compensation for the loss of my property. This can be a credit to my account.
Equally concerning has been my experience with the Privilege Club Customer Support team. My concerns were not addressed in a timely, professional, or satisfactory manner. As a valued member, I expected a higher standard of service and a genuine commitment to resolving member issues. Instead, I felt that the focus was placed more on promoting additional program benefits than on providing meaningful assistance and support.
This experience has significantly diminished my confidence in the Privilege Club. My family and I had been seriously considering extending our membership agreement for an additional ten years. However, repeated instances of poor customer service and ineffective support have led us to reconsider that decision.
The Privilege organization does not care about its customers; it only passes the buck. I have no idea what value they deliver.
I believe that long-term member loyalty is built on trust, accountability, and exceptional service. Unfortunately, my recent experience has not reflected those values. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed at the management level and that a prompt resolution be provided regarding both the compensation request and the concerns raised about customer service
Location was okay though beach very disappointing. Atmosphere lively not at all relaxing. Room was old dirty and the whirlpool bath didnt work. Bathroom ceiling was leaking. Had to call every time for fridge in room to be restocked. Food was good in a la carte cold in main buffet. Staff love tips and on a few occasions you could see them laughing at guests. Few staff were brilliant
This resort is very average. Rooms are very dated! The rooms I saw on several advertisements were not what we were given. The pools were great! They had something for everyone. Party pool , quiet pool and a pool where you can hear the music but also just chill. The entertainment staff was great and Crazy Legs is a great ambassador to the resort. Service was not very good. Once they took your initial drink order you never see them again. The food is very average and seemed to be the same stuff day in and day out. Jerk chicken was very good and a few other dishes were decent. There was not a ton of variety.
My biggest complaint (just my opinion) there seemed to be way more locals staying at the resort than tourists on vacation. They were very rude and seemed to be treated far better than the tourists. Locals do not seem to understand what a line is and would constantly just cut in front of people who were patiently waiting in line to get food. They had a teachers convention at the resort while we were there. A lot of them were loading up their purses with food and taking it from the buffet. Very disappointing to see no matter the circumstances. That is what drives cost up, and we tourists end up paying for it.
The beach is non existent! The main beach is on the family side which is currently closed for renovations. The tiny piece of beach is not worth visiting because the water is so shallow(2 ft).
I have visited this resort three times prior and this will be my last. Hopefully they can get it together because the grounds are beautiful.
We had a great time at the resort. The entertainment team made the pool experience great and the pool bar tenders were great as well. The restaurant experience was not as pleasant. Luckily my fiancee made reservations the week before, other people that tried to do day of it was completely booked. However when we ate at the restaurants they were half full and we were told they were understaffed to accommodate all guests. Besides that the experience was amazing and we would go again.

Dewayne and Hussein were quick to ensure we had everything we needed at the beach. The water inside the jetty area was excellent for snorkeling; it was shallow, around 3 to 4 feet, but still enjoyable. The food at the Mediterranean, Indian, and Brazilian restaurants was very good. Reviewed Jun 26, 2026Just ok. First the pros: it was cost effective, food was decent, hotel service staff worked hard and were very personable, drinks were not watered down. Pool activities were good. Nightly entertainment ok. Ac in the room worked well. Cell service great for verizon travel pass customers. Wifi good if you can get your phone to connect. My wife has iPhone, it worked well and you have to be connected to WiFi to order room service on the app. My android would not connect. Room was clean and comfortable. Views from ocean front balconies is beautiful. You get to see beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Cons: only half the resort is open. To get to a decent beach you have to walk a quarter mile or more. The beaches by the escape side are very very small and the sand is very mushy and hard to walk in. Ocean is shallow in the jetty too. Good for snorkeling though. I reserved in March. I locked in a non refundable price. To my dismay, the rate at the time of our stay in June was actually cheaper when booking the week before our stay. Resort refused to give us any resort credit for the price difference. Front desk staff help is lack luster too. The app sucks. Doesn't work half the time. Same with the WhatsApp chat for the resort. You might as well stop someone who works there to get quicker responses to questions. Maintenance team is a joke. Put a request in for a broken light the first night of our stay, and the second night as well, never showed. Needed the lighting for a poorly lit area of the room. We booked an ocean front deluxe suite. To our dismay these rooms are the furthest from the main areas and food buffet. Close to the pools though. All floors in walkways and rooms are slippery polished marble. Marble kills when wet. Just saying. My butt can tell you a story or two. Wear water shoes everywhere. Especially at the beach ocean areas. The beach is fine but if you tread out into the jetty you need them. The morning room service makes good food, but didn't get the orders right three days in a row. Yes we used the buffet, but didn't want to walk a half mile to get to it on some mornings. Did order lunch room service one day and it was great food and it was correct. Communication between staff departments was crappy at best. They don't tell you this but if you do a satellite shot of the resort on Google maps you can see the barrier wall to the side of the resort on the escape side. It is a residential area on the other side of the wall. Our balcony was on the third floor and near that wall. Dogs barked constantly making it impossible to relax on the balcony most of the time. It echoed through the room too even with the balcony doors closed. Lastly the beach is very ganja friendly if you know what I mean. Resort does nothing to curb the salespeople, which in itself isn't terrible but just wanted to throw that out there for folks that do not partake. We most likely will not be returning.

Reviewed Jun 24, 2026I have stayed at this property twice before and had wonderful experiences, which is why this visit was so disappointing.
From the moment we arrived, there were several issues that negatively impacted our stay. We experienced ongoing plumbing problems in our room, including a toilet that would not flush properly and a shower drain that backed up, causing water to pool while showering. We had to contact maintenance five times during our 3-night stay.
We were also given incorrect information regarding the buffet dress code. I specifically asked about the dress code at check-in, but when we arrived at the buffet, I was turned away and had to return to my room to change, which was both inconvenient and frustrating.
The most concerning issue was the food. Throughout our stay, both my partner and I experienced stomach problems, including diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, and nausea. We also observed meats at the buffet that appeared spoiled or improperly stored. I even took Pepto-Bismol during the trip, but it did not help. I checked out yesterday and am still experiencing digestive issues.
To make matters worse, we received a notice requesting that we not use the Do Not Disturb sign because maintenance needed access to our room between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM. As paying guests, this felt disruptive and unfair.
This trip was meant to be a Father's Day surprise for my partner, but unfortunately it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. While I understand that the recent hurricane may have caused damage to the property, it did not seem fully prepared to reopen and provide the level of service and quality that guests expect.
I sincerely hope these issues are addressed, as this property has provided me with enjoyable stays in the past and I would like to see it return to that standard.

Reviewed Jun 19, 2026I thought the property was huge and beautiful - inside and outside. All staff I encountered go out of their way to be extremely friendly and helpful. The beach and pools although beautiful I prefer to swim in deep water and not on man made beach. Also guests are encouraged strongly to be privilege members and this is understandable as it is essential to the success of the property staff and brand.
Thank you to all you guys at Bahia Princpe! I wish you all the very best!

Reviewed Jun 19, 2026The website didn’t tell you that the more than half the percent of the hotel was under construction, and the restaurants weren’t all there, and thepools were closed. They were very limited options. The spa was in a hotel room. It wasn’t a spa because that’s under construction the staff is amazing. The entertainment is incredible bartenders front desk. All very great room service was horrible. It was busy half the time. They only had a few items and it would take over an hour to get.

Reviewed Jun 18, 2026Terrible experience. They allowed me to book my family including my 17 year old daughter on line and once we got to the place, first time in Jamaica, they didn’t allowed me to check in because she was not an adult (adults only resort). I had to rent another hotel for the night with my entire family and replan our vacation to Jamaica that same night. I asked to speak to a manager 7 times and the manager never came out they just told me “no you can’t stay here” and because it was last minute they still charged me for 2 days for “late cancellation”. Terrible experience, specially first time in the country of Jamaica, we thought everything was planned and once we arrived to Bahia Principe they pretty much told us to go kick sand and figure it out on your own while my whole family was just sitting there in the lobby they didn’t even allowed me to spend to one night that I needed to figure out my life even though they charged me for it.

We just wanted to highlight an amazing member of team who made our evenings, Rushawn the bartender at the lobby bar! Aswell as being the best bartender we have ever seen attending to everyone on the bar himself and keeping our drinks topped up without us even asking, he was a lovely person and we would always look forward to seeing him in the evenings!! Thank you Rushawn for adding to our evenings and making us laugh!! He deserves all the credit!!

Reviewed Jun 17, 2026Bahia Principe Runaway Bay is beautiful upon first glance. You get greeted and everyone is so helpful. My advice? Don’t stay past the weekend, they only care for your first 3 days. We were there for 9 days and only received true service on the weekends.
We requested a wake up call for one of our excursions. I requested it through the app, on the phone with concierge, and at the front desk. Did we get a wake up call? Nope. What was their answer when told this…”Well what would you like us to do?” And “Did you not call concierge?”
We went on that excursion and did not come back to the room for 12 hours. When we returned our room hadn’t been cleaned. I called concierge and they said that was weird. Then the cleaning lady comes and says “Oh yeah, I told them not to clean your room.” Why??? Then asks “What would you like done?” Uhm… the room cleaned?? We told her that we would wait on the balcony and she literally slammed the sliding door shut and pulled the curtains. She didn’t tell us she left, she just SLAMMED the door and put the do not disturb sign on the door… effectively locking us on the balcony bc there isn’t a handle on the balcony side of the door.
We did schedule a beautiful sunset beach dinner that was DELICIOUS! The only downfall was that all the photos that they took of us were blurry. Not a single one came out from the entire night and when we asked if we could rectify this we were told we could pay for the dinner again or get a photo package… needless to say we didn’t get those photos.
Forget trying to actually use the app or call concierge during the week. The app won’t work and they won’t answer.
There were a few bright spots in this entire stay that deserve to be mentioned; Marcella (Spa): was actually so kind and worked within our budget to make it an even better experience, Takieya (Guest Experience): encouraged my fiancè to set up a sunset beach dinner that was awesome and also helped us with extra problems, Raheem (Bartender): genuinely such a kindhearted and attentive man! After our first night he remembered us and just took care of us, Michado (Bartender): An extremely talented bartender! He’s hilarious and will always go out of his way to make sure you get what you want and need. Truly by the end he was like family to us, and last but not least TORI ANN (Entertainment): Not only can this girl dance and bring joy, she is truly just an all around amazing person with such a kind soul. All of these people made it so we were actually willing to stay here our whole stay. Tori Ann alone made our whole trip feel like we were home. She was so kind and accepting and went out of her way to just be nice and include us. The stay would have probably been 1 star if not less without them.

Reviewed Jun 10, 2026We had a relaxing 7-night vacation, but as first-time Bahia guests who have stayed at other all-inclusive brands (including Hyatt), we won't be returning. Nothing was amazing, nothing was terrible.
🚖 Logistics: AMSTAR shuttle was 90 mins from MBJ to hotel (1 stop); 60 mins back (no stops).
🏨 Grounds & Amenities (2.5/5): Only the adults-only side is open. It’s advertised as "renovated," but it’s a rushed paint job over old damage. We noticed peeling bathroom ceilings, messy window caulk, and missing exterior balcony handles. Pools close early at 7 PM. No hot tubs anywhere on premise—a major bummer when it rains.
🛏️ The Room (3/5): Serviceable with cold A/C, but the bed was one of the firmest hotel beds we’ve ever slept on.
🍽️ Food & Dining (3/5): À la carte food was delicious, but restaurant closures made no sense. One night, only the Indian restaurant and buffet were open—forcing a very specific cuisine on guests. The buffet is highly overrated; it was the exact same food every single day with slow refills. Room service was hit-or-miss (one scheduled order never showed).
• Shoutouts: Charmaine, Raymond, and the bubbly server at the Rodizio!
🎭 Entertainment (2.5/5): Options are sparse. The "chill out tent" became a hassle when they locked up the cornhole bags. You had to sign them out from the DJ booth, but if you went during the staff's 1–3 PM break, you were out of luck. Shows were hit-or-miss (Circus/Rock were great; Marley/Magic missed the mark). The Foam Party was a blast.
👥 Staff (4.5/5): The saving grace! Lobby bartenders and buffet staff were incredibly friendly. Massive shoutouts to the entertainment crew: Crazy Legs, Lady T, Hot Chocolate, Armando, DJ Fuzzy, and the MC/Beard guy with the low voice!
🛎️ Service & Hyatt (3/5): Behind-the-scenes service is slow; simple requests for towels/soap took multiple follow-ups. They completely ignored our anniversary despite us mentioning it twice. Zero World of Hyatt recognition for our Explorist status other than a quiet room upgrade. You barely know it's a Hyatt property.

Reviewed Jun 9, 2026I had an incredible stay at Bahia Principe Runaway Bay, and what stood out most wasn't just the beautiful resort—it was the people.
After recently recovering and renovating following the hurricane, the resort had fewer guests than usual. Despite that, every single staff member showed up each day with genuine smiles, positive energy, and a commitment to making every guest feel welcome. That speaks volumes about the heart of the people who work here.
Everywhere I went, I felt cared for and included. Whether I was at the buffet, relaxing by the pool, or attending an evening event, the staff created an atmosphere that was warm, fun, and full of connection.
A special thank you to Vanesha at the buffet, who checked in with me every day and made me feel remembered and appreciated. Those small acts of kindness make a lasting impression.
I also want to recognize Lady T and Coleen from the entertainment team. Even with a smaller crowd, they brought incredible energy, humor, and enthusiasm. They encouraged guests to join games, meet new people, step out of their comfort zones, dance, and experience Jamaican culture in such an authentic and joyful way. They made strangers feel like friends.
This is a safe, welcoming resort filled with people who genuinely care about creating memorable experiences. The staff are the heart of this place, and because of them, I left with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for Jamaican hospitality.

The room was nice, but there were not many activities or entertainment options available. Also, the schedule for the music shows and dinner times was not communicated clearly, so I missed some of them.
The pool hours were not ideal, as it closed at 6:00 PM. Until then, the weather was usually very hot, and we preferred to wait until it became a little cooler.
The Indian restaurant was very good. However, the Brazilian steakhouse was not good.
The beach was disappointing, and there was no suitable area for swimming.
Room service needs improvement because sometimes the staff forgot to clean the room.
The mosquito problem was very bad, and I think the hotel should implement more effective mosquito-control measures. Still bites are on my skin. the planning also was bad . short time stay and also return day spend on the airport and flight. only for airport.

Reviewed May 31, 2026We traveled here from the US to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary. The resort is absolutely beautiful. We had a Jr. Suite, and the view was amazing. The property was very clean, and I loved that it is an all-inclusive, adults-only resort. Devon in Guest Experience went above and beyond to ensure our experience was wonderful. Kemar (Crazy Legs) is sooo much fun and made us feel welcome and at home. Just beware of the Privileged Club invite/tour. They are pushy, then get attitudes when you don't want to join. The pool closes at 6 pm, which doesn't make sense to me. I hated this. The food was just "ok" in Jazmine Dining Room. The specialty restaurants book up fast, and they were already booked when we arrived, which is crazy since you have to have reservations for them, so we didn't eat at those restaurants. We hired a driver to take us to restaurants off the resort. He took us to Rick's Cafe, which is 3 hours away, and we had a great time.

Reviewed May 30, 2026We enjoyed many aspects of our stay; however, we would like to share some constructive feedback regarding the food and beverage experience, particularly the buffet service. As a five-star resort, guests generally expect a higher standard of freshness, variety, and live food preparation.
The buffet menu felt quite repetitive throughout our five-day stay, with many dishes appearing similar each day. In addition, several items often seemed dried out and not freshly prepared, which reduced the overall dining experience. Introducing more fresh food options, rotating daily menus, and increasing live cooking stations would significantly improve food quality and guest satisfaction. Freshly grilled items, made-to-order dishes, and interactive cooking counters are commonly expected in premium resorts and would create a much more enjoyable atmosphere.
We also noticed that some fresh fruits and ingredients were frequently unavailable. For example, mango, which is widely associated with tropical destinations, was not available at all during our entire stay. At times, even fresh lime was missing from the bars, which affected drink quality and consistency.
We believe that improving the freshness, variety, and presentation of food and beverages would greatly enhance the guest experience and better align the resort with five-star hospitality standards.

Reviewed May 29, 2026We booked 6 nights at this hotel and we have had an amazing time. The hotel is spotless, beautiful and the staff are lovely. The Mosquitos in the room are terrible though, and there are just so many. My top tip would be to pack a bottle of bagen or another spray aswell as your body spray.
The food choices are vast and there was always something lovely to eat.
Check out the Rasta Jerome that has a little spot on the beach in the sea!
His lobster is out of this world. The best I have ever had!
I didn't think much of the private man made beach. You definitely need your beach shoes for this one due to the Rick's in the sea, and the deepest it gets is to your waist! Not good if you lije to swim.
Our room had an iron, ironing board mini fridge and safe. My bathrobe was a bit on the small side, but hey ho.

Thank you to Terry, Amanda and two amazing trainees- Kimora Boyd and Mickaila Dobson. Always very friendly, smiley and kept us refreshed throughout our days at the pool.

Reviewed May 29, 2026Stayed shortly after the post-Hurricane Melissa reopening. The resort was marketed as "enhanced" and "completely refurbished" but in reality roughly half the property was still closed, with active renovation work ongoing. On weekdays, only 1 of 3 à-la-carte restaurants was open. The app falsely showed restaurants as "full" when they visibly weren't, and the earliest dinner reservation it offered was 9:00 PM — unworkable for our group of elderly travelers. The Bahia Principe app failed throughout: I had to call and email just to get a check-in QR code, was repeatedly locked out, and when I finally logged in with my own email, it showed another guest's room under my account. Worst of all, we found a blood stain on our bed sheets — it took over 30 minutes and multiple calls at 10:00 PM to get them changed; another guest in our group reported blood-stained towels. Visible cracks on the walls, dated rooms. This is a 4-star property mid-renovation being sold at luxury rates. Wait until they're actually ready.

Reviewed May 29, 2026An okay trip but not worth the price. There are significantly better options.
1) the food is terrible.
Often the buffer was cold, over cooked meat, undercooked potatoes/rice, and generally very bland. The menu is catered to very simple tastes, and picky eaters. Why are they serving chicken nuggets for breakfast?
2) the majority of the resort is closed for construction.
When I went in May 2026, most of the pools, beachfront, bars, restaurants, shops and activities were closed for construction. This information was not presented to me at any time when making my booking. The limited area of beach that was opened was a poor quality and the better quality area of the beach on the east side of the property was not accessible.
3) there isn’t much to do on the resort itself
If all you wanna do is drink lie in the sun by a pool this resort is fine. But if you actually wanna do things, see things and eat local foods, this resort is a very bad choice.
Travelling off resort is timely and expensive because of its location. If you want to see more of the country book a resort in Ocho Rios or any of the other towns.

The friendship and kindness from the staff is worth mentioning. Just lovely people.
Loved the lobby bar, good drinks and great service.
The coffee bar behind the lobby bar was excellent, what a treat!!!
I would definitely recommend this resort.
Can’t comment on the entertainment but can say they were friendly and always willing to engage in a chat or fun. The pool was buzzing all day. Volley ball at the pool was “on the go”. Great games going. Poolside dance and movement sessions. Of course there was a white party, beach party once a week. And a foam party on Sunday nights. While we didn’t partake we heard all good comments.

Reviewed May 25, 2026Not worth the money. From the resort itself to a lot of the staff. Other than a handful of staff(Joan, Matthew, Jervon, Rushawn and Errol), most were not very pleasant and made us feel like we were bothering them.
Late check-in on arrival, we were supposed to be checked-in and provided room by 3pm, but that didn't happen. We had 3 different rooms during our stay. The first room had a view of the next property, a vacant lot with garbage/debris all over it, the A/C barely worked and the fridge did not work at all. They moved us to a room on the main floor, this room was infested with mosquitos. We reported it a few times and the room was sprayed for mosquitos 3 times during our occupancy in that room, which was 4 nights. It was frustrating with the mosquitos buzzing in our ears and constantly swatting at them. We were sleeping with the sheets covering our heads. The walls, furniture and bedding in this room were full of dead mosquitos and their blood, from swatting at them. It was brutal!! The next afternoon they moved us to another room. We spent 3 nights in this room, the second last day there was a leak from the ceiling, the A/C was leaking, the floor had water all over it. We called the front desk and they did have someone come to fix it. There was also a day where our room did not get cleaned at all. This resort has no beach, there is a small bay but no beach where you can swim. The pool hours are awful - 9am to 6:30pm. It should be open longer considering there is no beach.
I felt like this was a budget vacation, however we did not pay the budget price. I will not return to this resort and I would not recommend it. The hurricane was very unfortunate but I feel this resort re-opened too early. There is clearly a lot of work to still be done.

Reviewed May 22, 2026Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm smiles and great energy. The only real concern was the check in process, which took longer than expected. I think allowing guests to pre upload passports/IDs or begin check in while on resort shuttles could make the process smoother.
Now for the good part… the resort itself was beautiful! I was upgraded to an ocean view room and the views were amazing. The rooms, pools, beach, and overall aesthetics were absolutely stunning. The buffet was good, but I do wish the dinner dress code had been explained upon arrival. Also, premium drinks came with an additional charge, so it felt more partially inclusive than fully inclusive.
I also wish the pools and nightlife stayed open later because more music, dancing, and late night fun would have been nice.
The people truly made this trip memorable:
Trevor: Amazing hospitality from beginning to end, always checking in and making sure we were good.
Travis: Great tour guide who became like my little brother during our stay.
Lady T: Full of energy and always made us feel included.
Crazy Legs: Deserves a raise because he kept everyone laughing.
Spicy D: Handled room concerns professionally and kept us updated every step of the way.

You truly model all the qualities of what quality service is all about. BAHAI PRINCIPE TO THE WORLD!!

I'm not a fan of being on the beach, but we did walk down there and there was a place to swim, but it was a little rocky. I don't like that they upcharge for premium alcohol. Anita in entertainment, she remembered everyone’s names and made people feel special.

Andre, Claude (?)and Genie in the Mediterranean restaurant, outstanding service!
We had to move rooms because of noise level and the front desk was super accommodating and understanding. Shannale I’m guest services was on top of things making sure the room was up to standards.
D’andre and Jurandy at the beach bar were awesome. Jurandy made the best icebergs around! D’andre checked in on us daily, we had the best conversations and he gave great recommendations, he was knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful and helpful.
The guys at the beach who do not work for the resort but truly made an impact Jay, Dr. Slick, Doogle, Shawn, Malik, Swavey, and Smokey were friendly and also checked in on us daily to make sure we were comfortable and felt safe.
The food was 10/10, the lady who made my eggs every morning would spot me and start my order before I said a word, sorry I didn’t write her name down but she’s from 9 mile.
The people who work at this resort is what made the experience excellent. The rooms are outdated but kept VERY clean. The bar fridge was topped up daily and the room was cleaned once a day with turn down service daily. Service 10/10.
The beach…bring water shoes for sure and a snorkel mask, we saw puffer fish, barracuda, needle fish, sea slugs, a yellow spotted ray and a gazillion other tropical fish. Bring lots of sunscreen too, saw lots of sunburnt people underestimating the Jamaican sun.
First time for us and we are looking forward to returning. I’m super happy about choosing this resort.

Reviewed May 15, 2026We stayed a week in early May and I can honestly say the staff make the resort. From the perfect morning latte made by Erroll, to Petrinas non chalant singing and great service with a smile on the beach, Darius and the entertainment crew kept us energized and moving with dance and exercise and of course the fantastic chefs who kept the delicious jerk chicken fresh and tasty!! The rooms were clean, resort was beautiful, and although some werent impressed with the beach being man made it became my happy place with many cabanas and loungers available to enjoy the ocean view and some little fishies. Wear water shoes, there are sea urchins that can stab your feet hiding in the rocks.
My only dissapointment would be that the pool bar service was slow, at times there would be 5 there, both bars lined off and they would hang out in the stairs and chat, ignoring patrons. The entertainment crew and DJ's kept people from getting bored while waiting.
We will be back once it fully opens again.

Reviewed May 13, 2026The resort itself was reasonably clean, housekeeping was fine, and the shaded areas with the ocean breeze made the heat more manageable during the day. The theatre entertainment was enjoyable, and a few of the à la carte restaurants were decent. Still, we were honestly surprised by how disappointing the overall experience turned out to be, especially after reading so many positive reviews beforehand.
The biggest problems for us were the food, the lack of warm service, and the constant noise. Breakfast at the Jazmin buffet was okay if you went early, but dinner there - which became the only real option if you couldn’t get an à la carte reservation - was consistently poor: lukewarm food, empty trays that weren’t replenished, and meals that just felt stale and unappealing. Throughout the resort, staff often seemed uninterested or annoyed by simple requests, and even getting drinks could feel like a challenge. The noise was also relentless, with loud music throughout the day, highway traffic clearly heard from the ocean-view rooms, and noisy hallways early each day as cleaning staff arrived for their shifts. By the end of the trip, it became clear this resort is much better suited to a younger party crowd than to couples looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway.

Reviewed May 13, 2026Just back from our second trip to Bahia Principe escape so here goes it.
Good:
The staff we interacted with were great, friendly and professional. Did not have any issues at all.
Room was kept very clean and housekeeping did a great job.
Hotel area and beach were good, still some work being done but they’re still coming out of a major hurricane so that is to be expected. Didn’t have any issues finding beach loungers.
Drinks at the bars and food at the reservation restaurants were great, no issues at all, had some great afternoons and evenings!
Not so good:
The food at the Jazmin buffet was a bit spotty, some dishes cold and some things undercooked but the Las Olas lunch buffet was always good.
Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back, going to be interesting to see what the other side looks like after renovations.

We wanted a romantic getaway and looked forward to the “white” beach party at night - the staff promoted it all day - and when the evening came and middle aged and seniors dressed so elegantly went hand in hand to the beach - it was full of 20 and 30 somethings kids bouncing up and down on the sand to booming regatone…..it was senseless noise and became irritating. Needless to say, mi gente walked sadly away … some to their room and others to the lobby.
We spent alot of time in the lobby. So sad. Alot of money for nothing.
We kept a positive attitude to make the best of it - but the whole week was listening to noise.
The hotel caters to a narrow audience….and it wasn’t meant for me or my spouse.
Won’t be coming back.
Beautiful resort,pleasant staff,will return again!

Reviewed May 6, 2026I went here on a girls friends trip and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The grounds are beautiful and the resort was fun, but what really made our stay fantastic was the incredible staff.
The entire entertainment staff were amazing and engaging. Our very favorite server was Melissa at the buffet who after the first day, knew to have mimosas and coffee with Baileys ready. Her smile was contagious and her service was so appreciated! Some other staff who made our stay great were Marilyn & Amelia serving us in the lobby area, Uton at the lobby bar, Michado at the pool bar, Andre & Clark at Picasso a la carte (delicious!), Arianna at the lunch buffet, Rachel & Twanna serving drinks around the pool...and these are literally just to name a few.
The room was functional, bed comfortable, and AC worked fine.
Karaoke most night was a blast, we only saw a couple shows but they were great, the food was varied and plentiful and the drinks were delicious. I would most definitely come back to this resort in a heartbeat!

Reviewed May 5, 2026I recently stayed at Bahia Principe Escape, and I have to say the experience was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations.
The Guest Experience Manager, Shane Haslam, truly stands out. He knows exactly how to make guests feel valued and satisfied. He is always smiling, consistently checks in to see how you’re doing, and no matter the question, he always has a solution. That kind of leadership really shows—his team works well together, and the respect among them is clear.
From Daveen at check-in, to Devon Davidson who escorted us, and Shane personally attending to our needs, the service was exceptional across the board. The bar service, overall hospitality, and attention to detail made the entire stay phenomenal.
I highly recommend giving them the opportunity—go experience it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
First of all, it must be acknowledged that the resort is recovering from the devastating hurricane of August 2025. Areas of the resort were closed for reconstruction. However, I enjoyed my stay. The staff were great and tried their best to accommodate us under sometimes difficult circumstances. They promptly responded to any issues regarding the few difficulties that cropped up. I can't wait to return once the renovations are complete.
Would not recommend this resort.Undergoing renovations so not fully operational yet. Shallow beach areas ( in the limited ones that were open) Too much time in lobby trying to sort through things that were concerning (waiting over 4 hours for our room, tv and phones in rooms not working, the app not functioning properly, couldn’t get room service, times of no hot water for shower, power outages, limited restaurant availability, had to change rooms because of water leak in ceiling, elevators not working consistently). Also saw many other disgruntled guests having conversations with front desk employees- trying to have their concerns dealt with too. Staff worked long days- since not enough employees in place when we were there. We understand they are recovering from devastating hurricane last fall yet paying for an all inclusive resort comes with expectations that unfortunately were not met. When asked about compensation from guest services or from the new Hyatt owner organization, they just thanked us for letting them know how they can improve services in future. Unfortunately not going to return.

Reviewed Apr 15, 2026Beautiful property, fabulous room with a comfy bed and bathroom with in room jacuzzi that worked, delicious Jamaican food, good breakfast, nice facilities...fabulous pools in beautiful surroundings and swim up bar, tennis, table tennis etc. nice bars with good options, decent entertainment, great bar/restaurant staff and entertainment staff, nice beach for chilling on, good snorkelling.
1. Disorganization of reception staff. We were double booked into a room where someone was already booked into and it took them ages to sort it out. Two hours in the reception area is too long and a waste of precious vacation time. It was the Easter holiday but they should have been prepared.
2. Restaurant reservation systems were not working properly for us and many other people so we couldn't reserve for any of the restaurants. Reception staff promised to sort it out and reserve for us and send an email but they never did.
3. Long queues to enter the main buffet dining room, over 45 minutes in a queue to eat dinner is too much, they seemed to be either understaffed for the amount of guests or very disorganized.
4. Best part of their beach still is not open due to Melissa and there wasn't much pleasant swimmable area.
5. While the Jamaican food was good the International food could have been better and they had no fresh fruit at all for breakfast one day.
6. Wifi in the room went.
It seems they just reo-pened but were not quite ready.
Would I give them another chance? Maybe if there are no other options, if the price is competitive or if they step up their game. For guests who expect high quality service I would not recommend. If you are a laid back, easy going person and the price is good you can still have a great time.

Reviewed Feb 20, 2026I am writing a review based on my visit a few years back. I went with my husband the 1st time and the following year our daughter had her destination wedding there with 30 people.
Everything at this resort was 10/10. we absolutely love it there.
we are going back with friends end of November 2026 and cannot wait. Hoping by then all the renovations will be completed. I'm sure it will be.
Hope to see some familiar faces as I loved all the people that worked there. :-)
