The ambiance
You did good old but
Great location. Nice staff. Funky cool place. Food as great.
Loud Bangs and stomping until 4am from the person above. Absolutely outrageous!
Convenience.
Location, friendly staff
Wifi could be better
Central location to downtown/baker st Sauna was a nice touch, and coffee was of higher quality than most. Staff was excellent!
Beds were very firm!
Room was great! View onto street, comfy bed, nice bathroom. Perfect location for exploring town with everything at your doorstep. Nice coffee on tap in common area and great rooftop deck with sauna and seating.
Pillows were too hard and low!! The onsite parking at rear of hotel is limited and based on first come first served. We had to park on the street a block away which wasn't ideal. Street parking is max 2hrs at a time from 9 to 5pm. You can't top up meter after 2hrs, you have to move your car to another parking spot.
The location and access to on site restaurants
Silver fish in the bathroom
The friendliest and most helpful front desk staff! Perfect location.
The pub across the street can be loud
Modern
Little noisy
Central location; clean, comfortable rooms; friendly staff
Lack of parking.
The location of Adventure Hotel was convenient, and the staff were very friendly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, that was about where the positives ended. The rooms themselves were very disappointing and felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, the room was very basic, and there was an unpleasant smell, almost like a locker room. The heating and cooling were also poor. We were either too hot or freezing and could not get the room to a comfortable temperature. We were on the backside of the hotel, so there was no view, although it was at least quiet. However, the bigger concern for us was the environment around the property. There were people in the parking lot openly using drugs in front of our 11-year-old, as we departed in the morning. I will say the restaurant was incredible and was definitely the highlight of the stay. The cafe was just okay. Overall, while the staff were kind and the location was convenient, the room quality, comfort issues, smell, temperature problems, and safety concerns made this a very disappointing experience. I definitely would not recommend this hotel for families.
The staff was exceptionally friendly & helpful, particularly with respect to check in & check out. Lots of offers to help with baggage.
The hotel does not have an elevator & my partner uses a walker but staff were always on hand to help.
We have stayed here before. Its a great location, friendly staff and always a good experience.
Air conditioner needs work
I like the staff and the location very much, and they have convenient parking behind the hotel. Our room was clean and it had a great view. It is the place I always choose when I stay in Nelson.
I went to full circle for breakfast it was delicious.
No interconnected rooms were provided for my friend and I.
Location was walkable to restaurants and shopping , free parking and great view of Kootenay lake from room
We loved the location as it was very close to downtown and all the fun shops and restaurants. The hotel is quaint and features a bar that has great food and happy hour specials, while also offering free pool and shuffleboard.
NA
Just everything, especially the friendly staff, cleanliness of the room and the whole hotel. Thanks to everybody.
Nothing comes to mind.
Staff was friendly. Very clean room Location is right in the Centre of town so it is very close to everything.
My room was right above a bar or restaurant or something like that , music played quite loud until late. People's voices were loud enough that you could almost make out what they were saying. The worst thing was the a/c or heat exchanger it was very loud and ran almost continuously. Maybe other rooms were not so loud but the rooms on the first floor above the lobby were like that
moved us to another room, staff was super friendly
woke up to propane smell in our room, didnt seem like staff was going to investigate very much and upon waking up was then told that they couldnt smell it.
Location, price, staff
Great location, great food and coffee close by
The dry sauna was an amazing bonus we didn’t expect, great location right downtown with a bar/restaurant attached and super kind staff! Not to mention pet friendly since we were travelling with our small dog:)
Room small but clean, great location, front desk staff very helpful. Appreciated voucher for discount at pub on site.
No parking spots left in back lot, need more parking spaces for size of hotel.
The room was fine, but the air conditioning was excellent. It was a very hot weekend, so that was really great. I also like that there is a bar attached to the lobby.
There's an extra pillow in a plastic zippered bag. We grabbed it for a little extra padding while watching TV, only to discover it was covered in blood. It looks like someone had a nosebleed and swapped the pillow to avoid a charge. I told staff and, while the front desk person appeared horrified, they did nothing to make it up to us. I don't expect my room for free, but I do expect maybe a drink from the bar or something minimal like that. When the guy brought a new pillow, I had to remind him to take the bloody one. Very underwhelming. Also, I'd avoid the coffee shop. The staff there seemed entirely checked out, it took forever to get anything, and everything was just ok.
No beds housekeeping on second day.
Spotlessly clean room, brick wall in the room, cool old renovated & updated building, location, great coffee shop next door.
Value Free coffee
Noise
Clean room and nice facilities
I wasi n room 111 and could hear a fair bit of noise from the bar below (and a neighbour with a chronic cough)
I like the convenient location in town the atmosphere in the hotel and very friendly staff
Location is amazing. Restaurants & coffee shops are amazing as well. Right in the hotel. Staff are very accommodating as well!!
Could use a couple more pillows on the beds. Only two flat pillows… smart tvs would be a great upgrade for this place. Construction across street but not the hotels fault. Coffee was not hot at 7 am. I think the hotel was not very busy though as it itself was quite.
Location was very convenient
Stairs instead of elevator
Location, cleanliness and amenities. The vibe and decor add to the experience. Love the mix of retro and heritage with the exposed brick.
Only issue is the parking. Limited but there is plenty of street parking (paid). Need to be mindful of hours.

We loved our room, location, and cost. We will definitely be back.
Great to have a quality restaurant and a bar on premises. The communal kitchen is fun also.
My husband and I stayed for one night in an economy Queen. It was clean and well planned out. Staff at the front desk were very friendly, kind and helpful they were really nice to speak with. The bar and restaurant attached were fantastic. We arrived late so had dinner in the bar. Pizza was incredible as were the little pork ribs bites. Overall the hotel was great and I would definitely stay there again but next time I would get a bigger room. It’s a beautiful heritage building right downtown walkable to everything.
It was clean and close to everything.
The staff is extremely friendly and having access to morning coffee is great, as well as having the Empire Cafe just downstairs.
I had a very nice corner room, but it was above the pub, and I could hear the noise. It was not too bad but in the Hume they make it clear that you are getting a room over the pub and receive a reduced rate for that reason. Also there were no electrical outlets next to the bed which I found a bit strange.
Upon check-in we were told the room I booked was over the bar and there was karaoke until midnight. The room was booked over a month ago with no disclosure about this. There was no other rooms we could move to. Very disappointing. We were up early to get on the road with very little sleep. Disappointing as the hotel is in an excellent location and the rooms were clean and updated.
Location was good
Check in was very good, hostess was very friendly and knowledgeable
Multi story had no elevator. Disabled unfriendly. Nice room and great bathroom. Watched a small drug deal go down in the ally, but saw police presence late night.
Older property that has had some upgrades to the rooms. Positives: Room was clean, comfortable bed and nice new shower. No coffee, microwave or fridge in the room but these can be found in the guest lounge. Coffee was much better than most complimentary hotel brew. Patio area is a nice spot to relax, though it is set up for smokers so might not be for everyone if you’re not fond of the smell of cigarettes. Front desk and cleaning staff were quite friendly. Great location close to pretty much everything you want to see in downtown. Lots of nearby dining and shopping options. Not so positives: Parking at the hotel is very limited and the area around the hotel can be extremely busy, so be prepared for a walk to get to the hotel. Not sure if there is daily parking somewhere close by because all street parking is metered during the week. This is a noisy property. The bar below is open until 11 most nights and is especially loud on karaoke nights (Saturday) which go until midnight. If outside sound is an issue book through the hotel and make sure your room is away from the bar. Unfortunately there is no escaping the extremely squeaky floors. If you’re not alone, it’s impossible to not disturb the other person if you get up early or get in late. Lastly, the bathroom window is not frosted or tinted so if anyone in any of the nearby condos has a voyeuristic personally you’re somewhat exposed. Not a comfortable feeling. Highly recommend the hotel invest in some tinting film.
It was just great
Great help from the staff when needed. Went above and beyond for accommodating our needs and a forgotten charger. :)
Top location. Rooms were a good size. Gorgeous view of the mountains.
They screwed us. Total scam. Deception. Fraud. We show up and they placed us in a room 106 right over their loud karaoke 9-12pm in the bar downstairs. We couldn't enjoy a quiet stay or watch tv. They couldn't move us because the hotel was sold out. I'm waiting for a 100% refund but we are screwed. We can't possibly rebook anything at this hour elsewhere. Worse, Expedia customer service didn't make it right. They scammed us too. What a wonderful world this is.
This hotel is a bit of a gem. It's an older hotel that has been somewhat updated which actually makes it a little eclectic. I really liked that! The rooms where clean, but our windows where not. I basically kept the blinds closed. The bed and linens were very comfy. The hotel has a pub, restaurant and a cafe. You couldn't ask for more. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Mattress was uncomfortable
Good location
Great location. Walking to shopping, restaurants and the water. Parking is limited. Rooms are nice and clean but could use a mini fridge. Hotek restaurant, cafe and bar were all good. The bar had truvia nights on thursday. That was fun.
Very tiny room
The front staff were all so friendly and the restaurants attached were yummy, that’s about the only good thing about this hotel. The rooms were super outdated, the beds were not comfortable at all, and the parking situation was ridiculous. There was very limited parking or you had to pay. I paid nearly $700 to stay there only to also have to pay for parking, or just not be at the hotel until 9pm at night and make sure I’m out before 9am so I didn’t get a ticket. Don’t even get complimentary breakfast for the price it is to stay there.
Ashley was at the front desk when I arrived. She gave me the room key early since the room was ready, and she offered excellent suggestions on places I might enjoy going for a walk. Ashley made me feel very welcome, and greeted me by name every time I walked by the front desk.
The staff at front desk, Ashley?, was so helpful and assisted me in rebooting. My mistake but she rectified it st no extra cost.
Great location in downtown Nelson, clean and comfortable rooms, pleasant decor, feee parking, friendly helpful staff
Excellent corner room, great food in the restaurant and attached coffee shop…
Front desk person was incredibly accommodating and helpful.
It was nice to be downtown, was told by the staff there would be bike parking inside when made the reservation, not so much when we arrived and had to put bikes in our room. Was quiet and communal area with refrigerator was nice.
Would be super fun to stay there with a group.
Good location. As advertised it is a backpackers hotel, and may be aimed more at that clientele . We missed there being no fridges and procedure to turn TV on defeated our group. Staff was good and condition of rooms were good
For the price, the hotel was awesome! Clean, good service, awesome restaurants at the bottom, super cool lounge area with a sauna! Only problem was the super hard bed, mattress could be replaced ! And pressure on shower and water a bit stronger! Great for 1-2 nights if you recover from back soreness quick!
Motorcycle trip
Fantastic downtown spot with all the conveniences needed when traveling!
This feels very much like an upgraded youth hostel, though the private rooms are perfectly acceptable. Location was great, room was clean, and bathroom was functional. A good place to stay, but a bit pricey for the value.
No elevator, so pack light as you have to carry your bags up the stairs. Only real complaint is there is no dedicated parking, and desk clerk said we were fine to park on the street between 5pm - 8am, so we did. But there was a big car show in town, and they towed all the vehicles before. No charge, but I feel the desk clerk should have known about such a major town event and given us proper warning.
Would have liked a fridge in the room
The location is perfectly centred right in the town. The building is old and has character which I like, but best of all it’s very clean! The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s my second day there and I would certainly stay there again!
Good location. Everything was great.
Second time I stayed first time I thought the hard bed was just that room. Stayed second time different room still hard bed!! No thanks not again. I will not book a room there anymore.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Highway calamities required a last minute hotel find. Staff were so kind and helful. Let me check in rather late. The guest lounge and patio were wonderful to have access to.
Pub, restaurant and coffee shop all in one
Bed had a hole in the mattress - advised the front desk
Incredible location and extremely well set up hotel. It has a somewhat Hostel/Travellers type vibe, but with all the comfort of a hotel. There are a couple restaurants (and a bar!) literally *attached* to the hotel, meaning that you don't even need to leave the building to access them. Free parking around back. Walkable to everything that downtown Nelson has to offer. We stayed in a 'triple' room, which was plenty adequate for our girl's trip needs. Really appreciated that the room was stocked with extra linens and plenty of towels. Bathroom was clean and beds were comfy! Also loved the communal kitchen/meeting space on the 1st floor, as well as the pool tables down on the main floor.
The bathroom door is frosted, and not very strongly so-- meaning that folks in the room can see everything their friend is doing in the bathroom. The shower door is also glass, so it's not like you would find some privacy behind a shower curtain once you stepped into the shower. This is a pretty huge oversight for a 'triple' room meant for small groups, and is sole reason I gave our experience 8 stars instead of 10. Replacing the frosted glass bathroom door with a proper door would significantly improve guest experience. Oh, also there was a bit of noise audible in our room from the bar downstairs while we were going to bed. It wasn't loud enough to keep us awake, and it somewhat to be expected on a Saturday night! I imagine this would be less likely for rooms on the higher-up floors (we were 1st floor) But it's worth mentioning in case you're looking for absolute peace and quiet.
Funky old hotel fixed up.
Busy restaurants downstairs too noisy for us.
