The room smelt like bad body odour and there was mould in the bathroom. The room was not double-glazed and all of the rooms opened onto a central courtyard, so you could hear every sound from the other noisy guests who spent a lot of time with their door open and shouting to each other. Had to wear earplugs to get any sleep. You also had to walk through the smokers to get to your car. Would not stay here again

Our first night was disrupted by a noisy neighbour. But no issues the second night and staff reminded us that we could ring them any time if noise/neighbour issues arose.

I liked that the check-in was fast and efficient, Tui greeted me with a smile and friendly service. Parking was available right outside our room. Procedures for after hours were explained and information papers given for gate access and WiFi password. Our room #11 was well presented, clean and tidy. We got to enjoy a spa and shower option, to which we had both in the same night and again in the morning. What i most liked about this accommodation was that it was situated right across the road from our concert Te Wehi was holding at the Baycourt Arts and Festival Centre. Not to mention the availabilty at just 3 weeks change of venue short notice. Price for our 1night stay through booking.com was affordable at $183.50 which i thought was a steal. All food and beverage amenities were only a 3min walk down the road toward the Strand and waterfront. This definitely made it easy to make dinner reservations at the local restaurant and bar The Barrel Room. Thier service was amazing and our host Jay was awesome. Very comfortable, cosy sleep and stay. Our overall vibe was relaxing, comfortable, family friendly and the ultimate Tauranga City break at a top notch location and unbeatable tauranga convenience for leisure.

There was just one minor thing that could have made this stay for me a 10. The spa sign in the bathroom had a small bit of mould on the bottom left corner.I was tempted to clean this and i normally would have but it should have been tended to during cleaning. Hopefully in the future these little details won't be overlooked.

The Harbour City Motor Inn is very tied and run down. It has the feeling of a 1970s Motel. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The whole place is in need of an update. No way is it value for money with the room rate that is being charged.

The place is old and run down. The bathroom smelt terrible and the whole place needs to be renovated. The people in the room next door seemed to be staying on some sort of permanent basis. I'm guessing they were homeless and the govt is funding them to stay here. It's really not good enough for the price. I left after 1 night but had paid for 4 nights.

It was great location - easy walk to the food precinct and to the promenade. Even with the roadworks in the area it was still easy to access and we had a parking space next to our room.

The photos reflected rooms that seemed a lot fresher than reality. I accept that it is an older style motel complex, but the photos depicted very bright, fresh rooms ... I was also disappointed that there was a cheap plastic kettle, plastic utensils and worn teflon frypan. I resorted to boiling water on the ancient electric hob in a saucepan, which took a really long time. I get that some cost savings have to be made with what is supplied, but I am sure there are inexpensive stainless steel kettles available to the industry - plastic (especially when heated) is very toxic.

There was a smell of urine in the corner of our room by the bed & also being close to towm meant loud music on a Saturday night (we would opt not to stay in the weekend next time)

1 block from pedestrian mall with lots of good restaurants, and very near the waterfront parks. Good parking. Good kitchen and utensils.

Perfect Location

The location was close to Tauranga which was excellent, we could walk to the local restaurants. The room was clean.

The smoke detector went off on the second night - throughout the night which was really bad.

Room was immaculate Beds were very comfortable!! And the spa was amazing after bn on my feet all day

Booked this very last minute 10 pm as needed a place to sleep. Booked a room which accommodates 4 people however accidentally put in 1 child above 0 and 1 at 0 years unintentionally. Upon arrival we were told to pay extra $50 for the kids as they are classified as adults and will be using the bed. The Asian staff/ management are so greedy I have no words. They should focus on getting the dated place upto scratch before charging the premium price!

The location is great. The units are much better maintained than a lot I stay at. I would like to stay there every visit. Great staff, friendly and helpful.

This property was spotless, such a pleasant surprise nowadays to find such a delightful property that is so clean, handy to restaurants and other facilities. Even staff are fantastic. I dont usually give such glowing ratings but this place truely deserves it! We were in town for a very sad reason and exhausted, I actually felt cared about but no intrusiveness.
