Everything! The location, the staff, the room, the bathroom was a treat - bigger than some places we stayed ☺️, the view, the surroundings. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip.

Loved it all but good to know that it’s an open space for four people with a low divider. There’s a double bed, a cot and a single bed. Not a problem at all for our group.

We loved staying in our cave room (number 4)that had amazing views of ancient Matera. We also enjoyed being served apertivos on the couches outside our room with the old city as our backdrop. The staff was very kind and helpful and breakfast had lots of choices. The restaurant recommended to us was excellent and the great location meant that we were able to walk to all parts of the old town. We highly enjoyed the time we spent in Matera!

The transfer to and from the hotel from the recommended parking garage were very convenient, but expensive, 40 euros for 1 night!

De locatie ligt heel centraal, maar om op je kamer te komen moet je 2 hekken door en diverse trappen op!

We had a very good stay at this hotel. The location was excellent, right in the centre of the Sassi, making it a great base for exploring the area. Our room, Room 2, had a fantastic view of the Sassi, and we also had access to the terrace, which was a lovely bonus. The air conditioning worked very well, which was much appreciated. Breakfast offered a good choice of continental options and was a great way to start the day. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel. Our only slight criticism is that we felt it was a little overpriced for what was offered.

Bardzo dobra lokalizacja, piękne widoki z tarasu, wszędzie blisko. Komfortowe pokoje, pomocny personel.

Skvelá poloha, krásne výhľady. Večerná Matera je naozaj dychberúca. Personál veľmi nápomocný, poradili a všetko vyriešili promptne. Vďaka ním bol tento pobyt v srdci Matery očarujúci.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Matera ! Les hôtes ont été très accueillants et agréables. La situation du logement est tout simplement exceptionnelle, bien au-delà de nos espérances, avec une vue magnifique et à couper le souffle sur la vieille ville de Matera. Séjourner dans une chambre troglodyte a également été une expérience unique et mémorable, que nous recommandons vivement de vivre au moins une fois ! Une très belle découverte et un excellent séjour. Nous recommandons sans hésiter ce logement et ses hôtes !

Seul petit bémol : la climatisation était assez bruyante. Heureusement, nous n’avons pas eu besoin de la laisser fonctionner pendant la nuit.

Esperienza incredibile nei Sassi di Matera. Terrazza sui Sassi, aperitivo portato dallo staff proprio li per godere della terrazza, stanza bellissima, dove hanno mantenuto le pareti originali ma con tutti i comforts. Colazione ricchissima. Staff amabile e molto utile nell'organizzarci visita guidata tra i Sassi. Ci ritornerei subito e lo consiglio!

The location is beautiful and very convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of choices, all of very high quality.

Unfortunately, the room was not like the one shown in the photos and was far below our expectations. Although it was spacious, it was very basic and completely lacking in charm or character. Contrary to what we expected from the description and pictures, it was not a room carved into the rock. There were also several maintenance and cleanliness issues: the table was unstable, there was mould in the shower and on the bathroom ceiling, and the toilet flush was broken. To their credit, the staff did arrange for the flush to be fixed. Overall, we found the stay rather disappointing, mainly because the room did not match the advertised accommodation or our expectations. If you are booking specifically for the authentic experience of staying in a room carved into the rock, I would recommend checking carefully which room you are actually booking and looking beyond the promotional photos.

Matera ist ein ganz spezieller und ganz wunderbarer Ort und Fra I Sassi liegt mitten im Zentrum. Alles ist zu Fuß erreichbar, ein besonderes Hotel, alles topp!!!

L'hôtel a un emplacement très pratique : il est à 15min à pieds de la station, 5min en voiture. Il y a plusieurs restaurants à côté et pour arriver à des points de visite, c'est très facile. Néanmoins, si vous avez de grandes valises, prévoyez un transport en voiture pour aller jusqu'à l'hôtel. Il y a beaucoup de marches si vous faites le trajet à pieds. Le personnel a été super agréable et serviable, avec notre grande valise ils nous ont bien aidés ! La chambre était grande, confortable et très propre. La terrasse de l'hôtel est un plus ! La vue de la ville de Matera le soir est formidable. Le petit-déjeuner était super varié et délicieux, avec des produits locaux.

La proximité et la beauté de la vu sur la terasse. Le personnel et très sympathique et à l’écoute. Nous avons déposer notre voiture au parking Nicoletti puis pris la navette pour 10€ jusqu’à notre hôtel c’était parfait avec cette chaleur ! Les chambre sont atypique et très propre ! La déco et simple et minimaliste, les enfants on adoré !

Peut être varié un peut plus le petit déjeuné. Arrivé à 9h il n’y avais déjà plus certaines choses et on nous a dit que c’était fini qu’ils n’en remettrait pas ce qui est dommage car nous n’avons pas pu profité de tout le petit déjeuner … ( mozza, avocat, œuf.. ) Les matelas sont très mou. Pas top top pour le dos

Buena ubicación en el sasso Barissano muy cerca a pie de todo. Es espectacular como acondicionan la roca y lo convierten en una habitación. Una experiencia recomendable Muy espacioso y comodo, incluso con cocina equipada.

Mejoraría la iluminació

La ubicación es inmejorable. La habitación estuvo muy bien. El desayuno es extraordinario y el personal es muy atento y simpatico. La terraza tiene de las mejores vistas de Matera.

Me hubiera gustado tener más luz en la ducha. La cama era buena, pero como el hotel es tan bueno, yo fuera ellos y elevara el nivel de la cama.

This was our most special rooms at our 5 day trip. My husband and I were in the highest room with spectacular view. And vine on joined terace before bed was extra good feeling. I woul definitely recommend.

The room was very unique - I've never stayed in a cave before! It was super hot outside and the room was beautiful and cool. the room had everything we needed. The Breakfast was outstanding! The staff were super helpful with booking us a shuttle back to the carpark and booking us a tour. Very nice people.

El hotel me resultó sorprendente porque conjugaba la experiencia de estar en un Sassi con las comodidades modernas. Era una habitación luminosa y alegre, con terraza delantera y unas vistas espectaculares. La ubicación era inmejorable, en el corazón de los Sassi pero con muy fácil acceso. El desayuno era muy bueno, con productos frescos, naturales y una pastelería cuidada. El personal fue amabilísimo y atento. La comunicación con el hotel fue muy buena. Antes de llegar se comunicaron para indicar las opciones de estacionamiento porque el Hotel se encuentra en una zona de tráfico limitado. Creo que Matera es una ciudad a la que hay dedicarle por lo menos dos noches. Me hubiera quedado una más pero el hotel estaba completo y no pude extender mi estadía...

Posizione fantastica: struttura vicinissima al centro storico della cittá, raggiungibile facilmente a piedi. Colazione molto varia (da dolce a salati c'é qualcosa per chiunque), che si tiene in una grotta ristrutturata. La camera & il letto sono comodi, il bagno & la doccia puliti.

Unico "diffetto" erano - il parcheggio: su booking viene pubblicato, che egli sarebbe incluso - nella conferma di prenotazione viene poi indicato, di poter parcheggiare in una delle strade circostante (strisce bianche, dove serve un pizzico di fortuna a trovare posto libero) o di poter parcheggiare in un garage vicino ( a 20€/giorno) - la terrazza: immaginavamo un terrazzino con visibilitá sulla cittá, per fare una di quelle foto iconiche di Matera - purtroppo non fattibile, in quanto la struttura é "troppo in basso" (spot fotografici cominque vicininissimi)

La camera piuttosto spartana ed essenziale è compensata dalla location fra i sassi con vista davvero incantevole. La colazione veramente eccellente, con prodotti di qualità rendono davvero indimenticabile il soggiorno in questa incantevole città.

Bisogna tenere conto che dormire proprio dentro i sassi è suggestivo ma potrebbe dare un leggero senso di “claustrofobia” per chi ne soffre

Dormir en un auténtico Sassi es una gran experiencia. La ubicación maravillosa con una de las mejores vistas de Matera. Desayuno bueno y abundante. Personal muy agradable.

El tema del aparcamiento es complicado pero más o menos cerca hay sitios...ojo con las zonas ZTL, te metes en ellas sin darme cuenta...

No creo que haya mejor hospedaje que este en Matera. Todo es para destacar. Desde la atención de todo su personal, quienes te reciben en recepción, quienes te asisten en el desayuno, quien riega las plantas, quien ordena las habitaciones,. Absolutamente todos son amorosos. El hospedaje es súper completo, lindo, limpio, desayuno completo y rico. Fuimos con un bebé y está súper equipado para recibir niños. Lo recomiendo porque mi estadía fue un 10!

Veldig god kommunikasjon med hotellet før, under og etter oppholdet. Shuttletransport fra/til parkeringshuset ble enkelt fikset v hotellet. Deilig frokost i nydelig restaurant. Utsikten og beliggenheten er perfekt selv om man tåle å gå litt trapper.

L’hôtel était plutôt bien situé, dans et à l’entrée des Sassis ce qui rend les promenades très pratiques. Le déjeuner était varié et le personnel à la réception très serviable.

Une des deux chambres etait trop proche de la route, donc bruits, heureusement une ZTL. Un peu de décoration dans les chambres pourrait rendre le lieu plus agréable.

We loved everything, we booked a Deluxe room for two nights on May 2026 and it was great, nice, charming and very spacious, great view to the city (by day or night the view was wonderful), the bathroom was big and nice, and the location is simply superb, no noises at all, and close to everything. Breakfast was buffet type and all the products we tried were delicious (with regional ingredients), 10 out of 10, The girls of the desk reception were really nice and gentle and also the ones on the breakfast time. The Hotel has a nice terrace with a beautiful view. They allowed us to do the check in a bit earlier and that was very appreciated too. We really recommend this Hotel and we would go back. BTW, there is a nice restaurant 50 steps from the Hotel named "La Bottegue", try the "bresaola", cause it is really good!, we visited this restuarant twice because it was really good.

It is a worth it to park nearby and stay in the city center. So this hotel was perfect. The views from the patio are amazing!
