Das Hotel liegt recht zentral und befindet sich in einem schönen Altbau mit viel Flair und angenehm hohen Räumen. Wir bekamen ein Executive-Zimmer, das ausgesprochen groß und geräumig war. Die gesamte Hotelanlage ist allerdings ebenfalls sehr groß. Dadurch wirkte das Haus auf mich eher wie ein klassisches Hotel einer internationalen Kette und weniger wie ein persönliches Boutique-Hotel. Das Frühstück wird offiziell von 6:30 bis 10:30 Uhr angeboten. Bei unserem Besuch wurde jedoch bereits gegen 10:00 Uhr damit begonnen, Teile des Buffets abzuräumen. Das empfand ich als ungewöhnlich und störend. Auch die Auswahl und Qualität des Buffets entsprachen nicht ganz meinen Erwartungen an ein Hotel dieser Kategorie. Positiv hervorheben möchte ich die Möglichkeit, zusätzlich Speisen à la carte zu bestellen. Diese waren reichhaltig und geschmacklich gut. Sehr empfehlenswert ist die Rooftop-Bar. Die Aussicht über Jakarta ist hervorragend, besonders in der Abenddämmerung und nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit. Für einen Cocktail lohnt sich der Besuch auf jeden Fall. Die Preise liegen allerdings ungefähr auf europäischem Niveau. Unangenehm fanden wir, dass das gepolsterte Kopfteil unseres Bettes sichtbare Flecken aufwies. Das sollte in einem Hotel dieser Kategorie aus meiner Sicht nicht vorkommen. Insgesamt hatte der Aufenthalt durchaus positive Seiten, insbesondere das großzügige Zimmer, das historische Gebäude und die Rooftop-Bar. Aufgrund der Größe, der für mich eher unpersönlichen Atmosphäre, des Frühstückserlebnisses und des Zustands des Kopfteils würde ich das Hotel bei einem weiteren Aufenthalt in Jakarta dennoch nicht erneut buchen.

Zeer ruime kamers. Uiterst vriendelijk personeel en goede service tijdens het ontbijt. Vieze borden werden snel opgehaald.

Het enige wat jammer was was dat er geen balkonnetjes waren bij de kamers. Verder is het best prijzig denk ik voor indonesie.

Great location in a quiet area but close to Cikini station, great coffee and restaurants. The beds and pillows were so comfortable!

Beautiful colonial style building with impeccable design. Good location to some great restaurants and places near by plus a great antique market where we bought some good traditional Indonesian crafts as presents. The room was very comfortable and a large size. The staff were kind and helpful plus the pool and roof top bar were a good pace to unwind or have a cocktail at the end of a busy day exploring.

Airconditioning in het restaurant stond heel hoog waardoor het erg koud was.

Prachtig hotel! Ontbijt was voortreffelijk Zowel buffet en (inclusief) a la carte.

Ontbijt was uitmuntend maar diner was echt zeer onder de maat en zou je niet verwachten van dit hotel. Dus voor diner beter buiten de en plekje zoeken. Inclusief diner is een beperkt buffet in een soort huiskamer met vooral zakelijke gasten die allemaal achter hun laptop, tablet of telefoon zitten te eten. Zeer ongezellig.

I’ll be honest—I was a little skeptical before checking into The Hermitage, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Jakarta. I usually stay at the Sari Pan Pacific, so I wasn’t sure whether changing things up for a heritage hotel would live up to my expectations. But I’m glad I did. Staying here felt a little like stepping into a Cinderella story. 📖✨ From the moment you walk in, the beautiful vintage architecture, historic details, and even the staff uniforms make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. There’s so much character throughout the hotel, and it manages to feel nostalgic and elegant without losing that sense of boutique luxury. 🍸 Club Lounge & Happy Hour The Club Lounge was one of the highlights of the stay. The atmosphere during Happy Hour was lovely and very relaxing. The food selection isn’t huge, and I felt a few dishes could use a little more refinement in terms of flavor, but overall, the ambiance and experience more than made up for it. 🏊‍♂️ Pool & 🏋️‍♂️ Gym The pool: I really enjoyed it. The water temperature was just right—refreshing without being uncomfortably cold. The gym: It’s perfectly fine for a basic workout, although there are a few areas that could be improved. There were no sanitizing wipes available when I visited, and I only saw one yoga mat. 🍳 Breakfast Breakfast was another pleasant surprise. I liked the combination of a well-curated buffet and an à la carte menu, so you get a nice variety without the buffet feeling overwhelming. Everything I tried was fresh and well prepared. 💎 A Special Shoutout A special thank you to Vivi at the Front Office. She was incredibly helpful, warm, and genuinely lovely to talk to throughout our stay. It’s people like Vivi who turn a good hotel experience into a memorable one. Es hat eine sehr zentrale Lage und ist aber in einer Seitenstrasse ruhig gelegen. Von der Rooftop-Bar hat man einen ausgezeineten Blick über die Stadt. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist der Hammer; von asiatisch bis europäisch, süß oder herzhaft und zusätzlich sind auch Bestellungen a la carte möglich. Mein persõnliches Highlight war der hausgemachte Kombucha!

Wunderschönes Gebäude aus der Kolonialzeit. Die Angestellten sind sehr zuvorkommend und helfen einem bei jedem Thema. Das Frühstück ist außergewöhnlich (kontinental und indonesisch). Wenn man vom Bahnhof Gambir aus weiter reisen will, ist die Lage optimal.

Wir hatten ein Dreibettzimmer gebucht (Ehepaar und ein 18-jähriger Sohn). Für das Zustellbett mussten wir einen relativ hohen Zusatzpreis entrichten. Das fanden wir nicht angemessen.

The property is beautiful, full of old world charm. The happy hour and breakfast were delectable. 10/10 would recommend and will stay here again if I’m ever in Jakarta.

We had an amazing experience during our 5-nights stay at The Hermitage Hotel. From day one at our arrival to the end of the 6-day visit of the Menteng and the broader Jakarta areas, The Hermitage service was superb and the staff made us feel comfortable and well cared for. The valet service, the front desk agents, the meal service team as well as the housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner there due to their wide and nice food selection. The rooms and beds are comfortable, clean and cozy. The swimming pool and gym on the top floor are a cool place to relax, as well as “The Vue” area at the roof top of this beautiful, colonial-style hotel.

The hotel is gorgeous, the location good.

Everything takes a long time. The roomservice took a good while, the plates didn’t get cleaned away even after calling to ask. There should have been a smart tv, but there wasn’t, which took the hotel an hour to investigate. A solution was offered by switching rooms, which was kind, but also just tiring. Quicker service would be expected in a place of this standing.

Intimate hotel where you will see the same guests more often than not which is rather pleasant A lot of the rooms have adjoining doors more so on the upper floors so if this is a concern you should let hotel know, I didn’t hear any noise though from the adjoining room door or street noise, it’s was very peaceful and quiet Breakfast was decent, executive lounge has very limited snack options but was okay I went outside for dinner on the 2nd night I used the onsite bicycle but please get it fixed by someone, the rear wheel bearing inside are goosed making the rear wheel wobble I pointed this out but I guess it won’t get fixed unless I write about it on here, the breaks squeak and need renewed , these are issues that should be fixed asap you don’t want guests riding a bad bicycle, I did have it for 2 hours and I was okay but please get the rear wheel repaired the internal bearings are gone inside the wheel making the wheel rub against the bikes frame Tv in rooms have no YouTube or Netflix only casting is on them Pool upstairs is good and you can do a little sunbathing for us brits Gym is small but it’s ok I love the hotel and the rooms they are very peaceful and is a nice neighbourhood Lovely hotel and will come back if in Jakarta ,

El hotel es un hermoso edificio antiguo restaurado. El desayuno es muy variado y abundante. Opciones múltiples. Muy buen restaurante y bar/lounge. El tamaño de las habitaciones es amplio.

La primera noche no funcionó el aire acondicionado. Por la mañana, nos cambiaron de habitacion (totalmente comprensible y aceptable). Lo desagradable fue que al hacer el cambio, me pidieron un depósito de dinero porque había consumido la noche anterior en el restaurante y bar. Un detalle, a mi gusto, innecesario y de mala gestión. Algunos detalles de mantenimiento que deberían mejorar, como bañaderas con hongos en las gomas, o repintados en el techo visibles. La mampara de la ducha deja salir el agua al piso. La iluminación es mala en algunos sectores de la habitación, y los interruptores están mal colocados. La luz de nuestra terraza no funcionaba. Es un hotel que ostenta excelencia, y por eso creo debe mejorar en los detalles.

My stay at The Hermitage Jakarta is always special, which is exactly why this boutique hotel remains my favorite in the city. I find myself returning here every time I visit Jakarta, whether for business or leisure. Its central location is incredibly convenient, with major shopping malls, restaurants, and many of the city’s key destinations all within easy reach. What truly sets The Hermitage apart, however, is its atmosphere. The hotel has a warm, authentic, and deeply cozy charm that makes it feel far more personal than a typical city hotel. The moment I step into the room, there is an immediate sense of comfort and serenity: a peaceful retreat amidst the bustle of Jakarta. For me, it is one of those rare places that effortlessly combine elegance, character, and genuine comfort, which is why I always look forward to coming back.

Very decent size rooms. Really lovely and helpful staff.

Would have been good to be able to connect to the tv with Netflix or some kind of streaming service.

Comfortable room. Lovely rooftop pool and bar. Well equipped gym.

Seems like it is quite a way from the main tourist attractions, and the immediate area is not very interesting to walk around.

De derde keer dat we hier hebben gelogeerd en het voelde als thuiskomen. De kamer is royaal, het bed slaapt heerlijk en de badkamer is heel fijn met een goede douche. Het ontbijt is gevarieerd van buffet tot a la carte. De locatie is perfect in het rustige en groene Menteng niet ver van Sarinah en Grand Indonesia Mall.

We hadden dit keer ook diner in de clublounge geboekt. de kwaliteit viel een beetje tegen qua keuze van de gerechten en afstemming bij elkaar. Het ontbijt is beter!

The historic property is wonderful to stay in: a unique opportunity to experience a bygone era. I loved my room with the bedroom/ sitting room combined. It also had a patio, which I did not use due to the heat. The photograph collection in the hotel is very interesting. The location of the hotel is good with international cafes, restaurants near. My favorite part was the rooftop bar area. It was wonderful having dinner up there and looking at the lights of Jakarta. It made for a memorable evening. Service is excellent throughout.

I found the breakfast buffet ordinary and expensive for what it was.

Smukt, historisk hotel beliggende i det hyggelige Menteng-kvarter med dejlige restauranter i nabolaget. Personalet yderst imødekommende og fantastisk hjælpsomme hele vejen rundt. Morgenmaden fremragende og med stort og lækkert udvalg for enhver smag

Lovely colonial style architecture and ambience makes a change from the modern hotel. Very comfortable room. Attentive and polite staff. Rooftop bar and view was superb It was a peaceful and calm stay. We appreciated the room upgrade, thank you 🙏

Breakfast was great, it varied day by day. The coffee was excellent, staff were so attentive and kind. They had à la carte and buffet options and the breakfast area was beautifully decorated. Rooms are beautiful and have everything you need. They are cleaned to a high high standard. Not a bad location but it takes ages to get anywhere because of Jakarta traffic. Grab is easy to get from this hotel. The pool was great too and had a nice pool area. I can’t speak on the gym as it was out of action for renovation whilst I was there. If I was to return to Jakarta I would definitely stay here again.

Does feel a bit like a prison inside.

Stanza pulita, luminosa e spaziosa. Letto e cuscino comodissimi. Personale gentile e disponibile. Ottima struttura per passare l'ultimo giorno prima di prendere il volo di rientro. A traffico normale ci vogliono circa 45-50minuti di macchina per raggiungere l'aeroporto. Il rooftoop è davvero bello e si può anche cenare lì.

I feel the sense of locality of Menteng and heritage ambience. The room is comfortable, totally black out so i can sleep well without morning sun.

The breakfast & dining menu is not kids friendly, most of the food are very spicy.

Prachtig hotel in koloniale sfeer, echt een verrassing. Heerlijke kamer met een terrasje. Mooie rooftop met uitzicht over de stad. locatie ook goed als je bijv naar de grote moskee wilt en nabij gelegen bezienswaardigheden, station ook redelijk vlot te bereiken met de taxi. goed ontbijt.
