Tel Star Motel

The motel has room for parking, and the value for money is good.

The room was generally clean, but the garbage cans had not been emptied, and it seemed like the bed sheets were just thrown on top of the bed, although the sheets were clean.

My room was so much more than i expected for the price. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean, good picture on tv and lots of channels, plenty of hot water, room was quiet and check in was easy with a nice host.

Es war ein altes heruntergekommenes Motel. Schrecklich! Das Badezimmer war unzumutbar. Niemals wieder.

Everything in the room was good. Clean. Nice bathroom.

The outside of the building is poor looking. I mean Telstar is from the 60's. Parking area is not paved. Stairwells and outside hallways need cleaning. Wi-Fi is poor. Seems restricted to access email accounts only. News services and many other sites "could not be reached". The desk agent gave some BS answer that all was okay. Then eventually he gave me another login and password and everything worked until it didn't.

Needs bigger towels

This is a great motel and offers a good and comfortable stay at a great / affordable price. I had a late check in and the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and assured me that by the time I arrived, he would still be in the office for me to easily check in.

The smell in the air at the time I arrived was pretty foul ... it was NOT coming from the motel ... I am not actually sure where the source was, but once I was in my room, thankfully, I no longer smelled it. By the morning, whatever it was had gone away!

The location is great. The room was clean and it had a little kitchenette with 2 stove burners, sink, microwave and fridge. It also had plates, pots and pans. The bed was too soft for my comfort but overall it was ok.

Need to change or clean hallway carpets as they are stained.

Great price and exactly as it looked in the photos. By no means 5 star hotel, but I’ll give 5 stars and would gladly stay there again as well. Super hot shower and great water pressure! The guy at the front desk was VERY nice and helpful , which I wouldn’t expect at a hotel for the same price in the states, but maybe that’s just Canadians in general vs Americans, hmm… 🤔

Nothing to say here, you get what you pay for; no complaints for the price

It was a great place to base ourselves while exploring southern Alberta and was still close enough to visit Calgary and Drumheller. Great value for money, and located near all the services of the Brooks township. The staff were all helpful and friendly, and if you needed anything, all you had to do was ask. Would happily stay again!

Extremely Run down: Broken security latch lock on door, loose door handle, no coat rod, weatherstripping slap you in face, no covers on lights, ceiling tiles half out. Coffee and drips marks on walls. Stained chair for desk

The man that checked us in was super friendly and the location is great if you want to visit the Dinosaur Provincial Park. The room was spacious and there ice available for your cooler.

The outside was quite dirty as there were carpets used in the walkway that were full of mud and such. The walls in the stairwell were also very dirty.

This is a budget hotel and I was impressed. It really did provide all that we needed for our 1 night pitstop. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Clean facilities. Happy to have micro, mini fridge, stove top. Comfortable.

Love this motel in a great location in Brooks. Great new staff who are super friendly and very professional. They permitted me a late check-out as I was catching the shuttle to Calgary and it was beyond the usual check-out timing. Anytime I'm back in Brooks in the coming months, etc., I'll Definitely only be staying at the Telstar......keep up the great work and the usual friendly approach towards customers.

Classic old style road side motel. Basic kitchenette with small fridge, two burners sink and microwave. Very clean for its age. Bed was very comfortable.

Kitchen chair needs to be repaired or replaced as very wobbly. Fridge needs to be defrosted as freezer full of ice.

Very easy access to highways. Friendly new Manager couple who went the extra mile to make us comfortable.

Several features in the room are clearly on the work list for upkeep, but the facilities were spacious and clean. The unit we had was two separate sleeping rooms and a kitchenette with coffee machine, microwave and fridge. There was a selection of pots/pans but the pots were incompatible with the newly installed induction cooktop. The electrical outlets need attention.

No free breakfast but had coffee and cooked our own breakfast in the kitchenette. Separate room for the second bed!! Clean. Pretty. Nice balance of carpeting and noncarpeted flooring. When I checked out and raved about the separate bedroom and kitchenette, motel employee said he thought I'd like that and gave us that room as it was available--we booked it online only a few hours before.

Needs electric outlets (old motel) especially for computers. Towels were clean, but could use a dose of bleaching for appearance.

Good Price

My husband Igor stayed at this motel with his assistant for business purposes and was very pleased with everything. They had two separate rooms — both were very clean, spacious, and included a kitchen. Everything smelled fresh and pleasant, and the staff were friendly, professional, and provided excellent service. It was his second stay here, and he said that from now on, he will stay only at this motel whenever he comes to town. Everything was perfect — thank you for the wonderful hospitality! 🌟

Close to restaurants and very easy to find. Needed an inexpensive motel, and this was very budget friendly.

Traffic a little noisy at times.

Clean, simple, and affordable. The owner greeted me at the check-in desk, and changed the water bottle in the cooler so I can fill up my own water supply. I’m not crazy about the room up on the second level because it means I have to go up some stairs, but hey for this price, who’s complaining.

We arrived very late at night, but the staff was prepared and greeted us with a friendly attitude. The room was clean, the bed sheets smelled fresh from laundry, and basic toiletries like shampoo and soap were provided. We really appreciated the conveniences in the room: a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, fridge, and even coffee, sugar, cream, and cups were included — very handy! The bed was comfortable, and everything felt tidy and well-kept. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our stay a lot. Highly recommended for travelers looking for comfort and value!

I would like a refund as i could not stay there. The ac does not work, nor the tv and i was bitten by fleas.

I love the old Tel Star sign. Room was clean, TV worked and there was even a toaster. The bathroom was exceptionally small and I count not figure out how to switch the bath faucet over to the shower head. The inside door latch is broken. There was no place to leave (physical) key upon early checkout. (Some people had left their keys in ashtray besides office door. yuck).
