Superb breakfast: tremendous choice and good quality. Great, convenient location. Magical view, especially at night (though we did in fact pay extra for that - it wasn't automatically included and lots of the rooms do not have a good view).

Building work going on in hotel.: noise, building rubbish lying around, areas blocked with building materials. On arrival we had to climb over cables to get to room. Checkin delays (more than an hour second time) due to card malfunctions. Loose wiring in room. No shower curtain so bathroom very wet after each person's shower. Website promises a rooftop bar, but there has not been one since February (we went in September). No rate reduction offered for any of these problems when politely raised. Manager stayed out of sight. All this is a pity, as potentially it is a magnificent hotel.

The location of the Clarion was very close to the ferry port. This makes it incredibly easy to get to if you have any luggage, large or small. We found our both our room very clean and the hotel itself. The breakfast choice was extensive. Seating was always available. The restaurant was okay but lacked variety on the menu and hence we were only 1 of 2 tables occupied at 7.30pm. The food though was good.

The entrance was somewhat marred by smokers and intrusive music. The ambience could be well improved in this area.

Hotel room was clean and spacious. The hotel staff also accommodated my request for early check in (as the room was available). Breakfast buffet variety was also great and food was delicious

Fikk ikke to singel senger som bestillt. Roomservice fungerte ikke. Måtte vente i en time på en meget dårlig frokost på rommet til 700 kr. Jeg måtte ringe resepsjonen for å bestille frokost. Appen for roomservice fungerte ikke. Resepsjonisten måtte løpe til kjøkkenet for å formidle bestillingen. Måtte ringe to ganger for å purre på bestillingen. Iskaldt baderoms gulv. Umulig å stille romtemperaturen på mindre en 18 grader. For oss et alt for varmt rom selv om vinduet stod åpent. Ikke noe avtrekk på badet, så det ble klamt og innestengt.

The location was very convenient and the views from the room were great. The breakfast spread was very good as well. We had an early flight out and the hotel packed us a breakfast which was nice

La centralità , l’hotel e in fase di ristrutturazione e la ns camera era già stata rinnovata. Quindi molto bene. Letti comodissimi.

Ingresso un po’ trascurato e hotel con molta affluenza ma si può fare meglio a meno che la mancanza di cura non sia imputabile alla ristrutturazione. Sala colazioni ok, ma un po’ confusa.

The breakfast was good, staff tried to be helpful.

The hotel was a construction site. Tools, extension cords all over the hallway including right in front of the elevator. Noise. Dust.

The location is great. Views were lovely.

We stayed here 3 years ago and there was work being carried out on the property. This time, same! I would’ve expected a warning. The workman on my floor were very respectful and friendly. My room had a very sticky floor like it hadn’t been cleaned properly before I arrived. Hand held shower could not be adjusted. The bar area is very noisy. Whenever anyone moved a chair, it was unbearable. They need rubber chair leg protectors. There was no information when we checked in about how to work anything. I know all these things seem petty but for the money it cost I would expect better.

The hotel and staff are totally amazing, everything is great. The breakfast is out of this world, absolutely incredible.

Henkilökunta oli ystävällinen ja auttavainen, huone oli siisti ja tilava, aamiainen oli erinomainen. Hotelli myös sijaitsi erittäin keskeisellä paikalla ja sieltä oli hyvät maisemat.

Hotellissa oli remontti käynnissä majoituksen aikana, mistä syntyi hieman meteliä ja epäsiisteyttä. Hotellin Sky bar oli henkilökunnan mukaan korvattu sviiteillä, joten sitä ei enää ollut. Aulassa on kuitenkin edelleen baari.

Very comfortable hotel in an excellent location. The rooms are spacious and well designed, the showers great. We loved the generous and varied breakfast and also enjoyed our dinner in the hotel restaurant and the excellent service there.

Staff we encountered generally did not seem happy.

We had a junior suite on the 10th floor. What a great room. Very funky design like the bough of a ship - all glass at the end providing a 270 degree view. Great bathroom and all very clean. We also had a non suite room (for kids) which was just as comfortable. Food was excellent- the best selection of our trip. Unfortunately the rooftop bar wasn’t open due to refurb. Location was good and staff were friendly. So all in all a great hotel I thought.

The location was perfect, the room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I especially appreciated how helpful and attentive everyone was throughout my stay. I felt very comfortable and at home at The Edge.

Gute Lage direkt am Hafen mit Aussicht auf den Fjord und über die Stadt. Geräumiges Zimmer gut ausgestattet. Sehr gute Küche. Und freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig erreichbar. Busstopp ganz in der Nähe für weitergelegene Ausflüge. Parkplätze sind ausreichend verfügbar, aber alle gebührenpflichtig.

PETIT DEJEUNER EXCELLENT e tage 11 eme était en travaux quelques chambres accessibles dont celle qui nous avai été réservée, nous n'avions pas été prévenu et lla moquette du couloir central était en permanence recouverte de plâtre et non nettoye à la fin de la journée de travaux, cela aurait été appréciable. Le canapé lit pour la 3èeme personne de la chambre était peu confortable et "grinçait" à chaque mouvement.

un verre avait été brisée sur la moquette de ce couloir, nous avons informé 2x la réception et le verre brisé est resté durant plus de 2 jours, personne n'est venu nettoyer.

Very nice room, excellent view of town and part of bay. Quality was high. Breakfast was excellent with many high quality options.

The curtains were maybe just a couple cm too short, so during the night time sun a bit of light still got in. Not a huge deal I laid down my jacket and it was fine.

Breakfast …. Dry good and included in price

Given a twin room which was a disabled room… never mentioned when checking in… just assumed we would be happy with it. There only one night and too many floors up to moan and get them to sort it out.

L'hôtel est très beau et très confortable, le buffet du petit déjeuner est très varié.

Le personnel à la réception est assez froid, ce qui est surprenant car dans tous les autres hôtels où nous avons été en Norvège, l'accueil est en général très chaleureux. Pour que ce soit plus pratique, le soir nous avons dîné au restaurant de l'hôtel et nous avons été déçus (très peu de plats à la carte, qualité des plats médiocre ce qui est étrange pour un établissement de ce niveau).

This rating is based on our stay in a Junior Suite. I was told there are only 10 in the hotel. They’re located in the pointy section right in front and they have a truly spectacular view. Watching the ferries docking right in front of us will be a core memory. We stayed five nights for a conference being hosted at the hotel. The larger room was really better for two people on an extended stay. There’s no dresser and the closet is small so you’re really living out of your suitcase. The highlights: Very comfortable bed, bedding, and pillows. The room was very quiet and felt private. Two windows open outward a few inches if you want fresh air. Our room had a little sofa and a desk positioned to take in the view. Room equipped with an iron and ironing board, coffee maker, and kettle. The bathroom had plenty of counter space and the lighted magnifying mirror in the bathroom was helpful. There are three elevators and they move fast - we never had a long wait even though the hotel was packed. My husband said the conference facility and support from staff were excellent. Quirks and things to note: A previous TripAdvisor review mentioned that some bathroom sinks don’t have a stopper so I came prepared with a flat silicone sink stopper because I like to hand wash a few things. The bathroom also has the half-glass wall shower - the handheld shower head will blast water everywhere if you’re not careful. There’s also a rain shower but it’s still going to splash outside the glass half-door. There’s only one electrical outlet in the bathroom and it’s positioned a few feet from the counter (actually on the other side of the toilet) so plugging in hair appliances is a little odd but manageable. The hair dryer required you to hold down the button but it’s not the kind that’s attached to the wall. There’s also no phone in the room to easily contact reception (which was the case in 4 out of 5 hotels during our trip). Breakfast was excellent. The opening hour is a little later on the weekend so if you’re an early-riser check ahead for opening time. Housekeeping does a wonderful job. The room was immaculate. Nothing felt old or like it needed to be replaced. You can’t beat this location. There are some nice restaurants and a 7-11 right around the corner. There’s also a small mall right there that has a great cafe on the 3rd floor with a wall of windows facing the water. You’re also steps from the cruise port and car rental. Tromsø is so walkable but do yourself a favor and get the Svipper app set up and take the bus to explore Telegrafbutka Beach or to get to the cable car. I understand the hotel is about to begin some renovations in the restaurant so check for details on that. Our room was a main character in our Tromsø trip. We had a few days of cold, rainy weather and taking a break in our room to just enjoy the view from our cozy perch is something I’ll never forget. We hope to return.

Tophotel met toplocatie (pal in centrum), lekker en uitgebreid ontbijt. Ook het diner in het hotel wist ons tevreden te stellen, net als de kamers.

The breakfast buffet was the best I had in Norway - excellent choices of food! The staff was very service-oriented and helpful.

Unfortunately my room faced another building so I had in reality no view - which was a big surprise for a such leading quality hotel. Secondly the TV was not working and the technician for the hotel had gone home that afternoon. As compensation the hotel gave me a free raid to the airport...

All really good, I liked everything here. Really comfortable bed, nice view over Tromso.

I heard the views from the Radisson is a bit better, is all, haha.

Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Check-in war problemlos. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr gut. Die Lage ist top und ich hatte eine tolle Aussicht aus meinem Zimmer.

Die Einrichtung im Zimmer ist teilweise schon etwas älter. Es wird aber gerade auch renoviert.

Great location, right in the centre of Tromsø, with Alti shopping mall, ferry terminal, main pedestrian / shopping street, Polaria and Polar Museum, several eateries, all nearby. Staff generally very nice and polite, in particular the lady that checked us in and out. Room space is good, looks bigger than what is announced. The breakfast is unreal, one of the best we ever had! Good value for money, in expensive Norway.

Overall the hotel is excellent, only minor points were: mattresses were too soft for us and the internet (at least on the 6th floor) was nearly non-existent.
