I wanted to enjoy the balcony overlooking the beach and ocean, however, the air conditioner vent on the balcony was blowing hot air on us and made it uncomfortable unless we turned off the air conditioning. A bad design in the system.

We were disappointed with our stay, especially considering the price we paid and the expectations that come with the Hilton name. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The carpet in our room was also in need of a thorough cleaning. There were several large black stains and spots, including an area that honestly looked like someone may have gotten sick on the carpet at some point. For the amount we paid, I expected the room to be cleaner, better maintained, and more comfortable. I understand that hotels experience normal wear and tear, especially in a busy beach destination, but the condition of the carpet and the uncomfortable bed were disappointing. We expected a higher standard from a Hilton property. The hotel itself may have a great location, but the room did not feel like it matched the price or the Hilton name.

The beds were terrible along with the pillows, we requested a working coffee pot, but never received it. One good thing was the view, nothing else was good about this Hilton.

I liked that it was pet friendly, location, and the restaurant was so delicious. I also liked that they were helping me solve an issue with the neighbors who left their kids and dogs in the room by themselves and they were fighting/barking at 7am.

I didn’t like how they have plants with thorns or spikes. My dog kept getting them caught in his hair and sometimes was actually in his skin.

Get your walking shoes ready. Unfortunately the boardwalk no longer has a train that would take you from one end of the boardwalk to the other. This facility is located at the end of the boardwalk so it's a long walk to the stores and restaurants on the boardwalk.

We have stayed here in the past, and the room is very spacious, and we had a balcony and always love the view. It is close to the boardwalk which is great!! Love the staff at Solstice and bartender Jeff was the nicest guy!!

The only issue was housekeeping coming every other day. We were a family of four, and they would leave enough things for 2 people such as coffee and toilet paper they never restocked until we would call front desk. That definitely needs work.

It was clean, nice atmosphere loved the king room set up it was beautiful. The back deck with all the rockers was nice. The restaurant was nice as well! Staff was awesome!

The mattress was a little firm but other than that it was an excellent stay!!

Breakfast wasn’t included coz it was booked through a third party. Linen was old and worned out! Pillows are so bad & cheap! We need to request towels, asked so many times! A/c was so loud! Front desk told us room are cleaned every other day but no one came. Front desk was not welcoming, they care less all they respond was because we booked through a third party. They charged us a daily parking fee! As i was checking now this Hotel had so much bad reviews since 10 months ago. & as i see the management responded with all this concerns but nothing has been done.

The staff was very nice and professional. esp.Heidi who I works in the bar area she went above and beyond to make a strawberry milk shake for my husband. Bless you!

I found it upsetting and was taken back when we were charged $15.00 a day to park our car we were staying for a couple of days . Begin on a budget I would of rather tipped the door person and the house keeper.. Thanks for asking..

This hotel is fantastic. The location is perfect. You are right in the middle of things. The boardwalk is super close and all restaurants are right there as well. We had an ocean view room and the views were exceptional. They offered us a high floor which made for an even better view. They have a great restaurant with amazing food for good prices. The bar makes great drinks that you can take out to their amazing deck that looks at the ocean. When you come back to the hotel from the beach there is a room to spray off sand that leads right in to the hotel. Overall we love this hotel and go back every year for the past four years. We will be back next summer too!

The elevator is a little slow but not a deal breaker.

One elevator was out of service the second day we were there and it took forever to use it do to the hotel being sold out and only one elevator working.

we had issues checking in the systems were down and it took hours to checked in. i tried to call booking.com for assistance and could not get through to a human which was frustrating. had to call hilton, they could not give us an eta. finally got checked in manually by staff at 740pm then had to go back at 10pm to front desk to get checked into system. the staff were rude at 4pm when the system went down, no offer to comp us for parking or a voucher of any kind for the inconvience of having to wait around for hours with no answers. called corporate, same thing, no answers.

We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and our waiter was extremely friendly, but they seemed short staffed( poor fellow looked like he was taking care of all the guests alone at first) and the food not bad, but was our least favorite place to eat in our three days there.

Took a quick and last-minute summertime trip to OC - my lodging options were limited due to my last-minute planning. I chose this hotel because I am a Hilton Honors member and this hotel had oceanfront rooms available for my travel dates. The property's reviews seem to be all over the place, so I hoped for the best. I knew this was a pet-friendly hotel prior to booking so I somewhat knew what to expect -- but I would not recommend staying here if you aren't traveling with a pet (or don't enjoy being around other people's pets). I am a dog owner x2 and love my pets, but I don't always love being so close with pets that I don't know. For example, I was riding the (small/slow) elevator and an anxious and large pitbull boarded the lift. The very small and frail female owner was having a difficult time calming the dog down. This in turn made me and the other riders anxious. If the dog attacked or acted out, we would not be able to safely remove ourselves from the situation. It was in that moment that I decided pet-friendly hotels are not my thing. I'm not sure if the hotel requires vaccination/health history proof, or has pet size restrictions, but I was talking to another guest who said they did not need to show any medical records for their pet at checkin. Biggest irk - there are no luggage carts that are free to use. You must hire a bellhop. Sir, this is a Hilton Garden Inn, not the Four Seasons. I like handling my own stuff and dislike feeling forced to have to use a "service" that requires gratuity. Because of this "policy," we had to "schedule" a bellhop on our departure day - 40 minutes later than we planned to leave - because we were told that we could not independently take a luggage cart to our room for loading. We had to wait until the bellhop was available to do it for us. If we didn't have a heavy cooler, we would have carried our stuff in our arms. It's great that the assistance is there if needed, but we shouldn't be forced into it in order to access a cart. Not the biggest deal; it's the principle. As a side note - I did see some people using carts on their own, so if this property doesn't require bellhop use in order to access luggage carts, they may want to explore whether they have certain staff members who are strong-arming guests so they can get tips. Another irk - you have to pay for parking. I expected it, but WHY? The room rate is already extremely high, IMO. Amenities - There is one pool (indoors) and it's relatively small/narrow, but looked clean. No special decor. Fitness center is spacious and decent. No outdoor pool or jacuzzi, etc. I'd say this hotel is geared more towards older travelers versus children/young families. Common areas are nice and well-kept. They diffuse a scent into the common areas - heads up to anyone who has strong aversions/allergies to air fresheners. It was better than smelling wet dog, which is likely why they do it. Outdoor deck has lots of rocking chairs overlooking the beach. I wish I had more time to sit and enjoy. Pizza/snow-cone shop in lobby is a small but great benefit to have on site! This definitely elevates the hotel's offerings. On site bar (which extends outside to deck) is nice, drinks are inexpensive and staff was friendly in both places. Food from bar area and pizza was good! There are only two elevators - they are SLOW and SMALL and easily become crowded. The property desperately needs to improve this. Signage for stairs is non existent unless you look at the tiny map plaques. I ended up using the stairs all of the time, which is not ideal for high-level rooms. Room only had 3 bath towels. I groaned when I saw this upon our initial entry because after a long day of traveling, we all just wanted to shower. I didn't love having to fetch more towels immediately. The number of towels should match the room's occupancy. This is an easy fix that could go a long ways! Oceanfront balcony room was spacious, clean and nice. I'd say it was a step up from a Hampton Inn room, but with a nice view. Wish the balcony had a slider door and not a regular door. One of our bed's headboard reading lights was busted and only the stem of the lamp was left sticking out of the headboard. It should not have been left like that prior to a guest arriving as someone could have hit their head on it. Also made me question the level of care and attention a room is given during cleaning. One light switch in room's entryway did not work. Fridge was not cold. We relied on our Yeti -- this was fine EXCEPT the ice machine on our floor was broken. So we had to traverse floors (using the stairs because the elevator took FOREVER) in order to get ice, to keep our food cold, because our in-room frig was a bust. For every one working ice machine, two were broken. It felt luxurious to find a working one. A lot of rigamarole for a room that cost nearly $500/night. Front desk staff - all I encountered - were super nice and welcoming/helpful. Location is great. You are on the beach, right off the north end of the boardwalk, and the "beach bus" stops right near the hotel. Lots of mini golf, restaurants and shops in walking distance. Highly recommend using the beach bus to get around town. Very easy to access the beach as well. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available to rent on the beach, directly outside the hotel. Would I stay here again? Likely no, but only because there were just too many pets in such close spaces/on furniture, etc. That aside, we had a great time and I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with a furry friend.

We stayed last year booked on booking.com and had the 9th floor with both rooms right next to each other. This year did the same stating need to be on a highest floor possible with both rooms as close together as possible. Instead we get somewhat of an attitude by staff for even using booking.com and then we get rooms on different floors for nearly 6 grand. We have a special needs child so this made it unpleasant out of the gate. Then staff used another credit card why I don't know putting thousand of dollars on hold on another credit card. Yeah......last time.

I love the view from my room and the beach was clean and beautiful. The room had mold in the sink and bathroom. The bed was very bad, they need to get new mattresses. I felt deceive because the entrance into the hotel was beautiful but the rooms needs updated.

Service of housekeeping and attitude a front desk people I booked hotel through Booking.com and was told no pre-payment was needed, and I could pay on site at property with only being an hour from the property. I received a voicemail stating that my reservation was going to be canceled due to nonpayment. I think the communication between Booking.com and the hotel is very poor. Considering Booking.com has one thing in the hotel is requesting another not to mention a bedbug was found in my room and the hotel staff played it off as a Carpet beetle. Needless to say whether it was a bad bug or Carpet beetle the bed was still crawling with Bugs, and I had several bites

The sheets felt like burlap. There weren’t enough towels. The “room clean” was them emptying garbage and making the bed with the same sheets. Toilet paper holder was falling off. Garbage everywhere. Thermostat was broken in one of the rooms. For $550 a night, this was sub par. Elevators took forever. Do better Hilton.

Liked: The location of the hotel, the room, the balcony, the view, the access to the beach. The inside and outside bar, the bartenders, the deck and rocking chairs. Pleasant staff. Easy and quick check in and check out.

We didn't like: The cost compared to other hotels in the area. Having to pay extra for parking. The dogs barking throughout the day and night. The common ladies' room on the first floor lacked toilet paper. The restaurant was mediocre. The restaurant staff was under trained, and it showed in their performance and lack of knowledge of the menu and drinks. A minor language barrier with one of the exchange student servers. Found some added charges on our cc with no explanation of what they are that are not on our final receipt.

No shampoo the bottle was empty. We told the staff and they brought us a new bottle. Sitting outside on the balcony at night water was dripping down on us from above. The last night we were there the tv had no signal so we couldn't watch tv.

Room was not cleaned properly when we arrived. Bathroom door handle was hanging off. Found what looked to be feces under the bathroom sink. Shower had all kinds of build-up. Floor had not been cleaned well so there was hair and other dirt on the floor. Stain on comforter. Pillows are paper thin. We had to request towels and toilet paper because when they cleaned the room they took the dirty ones but did not replace them or the toilet paper. Smell on weed is constant when on the balconies. Drawer to the nightstand also did not work properly so to use it you had to lift the drawer up to open it.

My bed had a tear in the bedskirt and the blanket was dingy yet I can tell it was washed. Super old and raggedy. The shower was horribly small and the floors weren’t very clean.

The pool was not available. There were no other options for the use of a pool. Was notified less than 24 hours before arrival that pool was not available. Offered to cancel reservation without a penalty. However, since I used a 3rd party app I would be responsible for contacting Booking.Com to get return of my payment for the entire stay. We did not cancel. Was told that OCM Garden Inn could not offer any recompense for lack of a pool as we booked through a third party app. The hotel charges $20 a day to park on their property. You pay it separately via cell phone. In order to use "free" wifi you had to join Hilton rewards. Otherwise, you would be charged a daily fee. 2 rooms not available at 4 pm check in. Left waiting for a room assignment. Was compensated with a free breakfast for our group. 1 room had no towels/washcloths

Great location! Room was cozy and the balcony with the ocean view was great! We liked the deck and the showers by the beach entrance.

The pool and gym were closed for few days when we arrived and we wanted to use the pool specifically. We also were missing towels in the room which was also open when we arrived. The service at the restaurant was also a bit chaotic.

The location is good - at the end of the boardwalk, so it's quieter than hotels further south. Also, every room faces the ocean, so the view is very good.

I thought we paid $20 extra for the room to have breakfast included. We were told that breakfast was not included and we had to pay ala carte. The cost of breakfast for two was astronomical - over $50. Seriously, how much does a couple of eggs and toast cost? What's the profit margin on that? We were also told that the kitchen didn't have a phone service, so we couldn't pre-order food for take-away, and their computer systems for the kitchen were not working. EXTREMELY shoddy.

The property was all right. but the staff wasn't welcoming when I went there for check-in. Room was good but not so clean there was kind of smell in the room.

Everything was great I must say. It's in a great area where a lot of things to visit are just walking distance. The oceanfront view was beautiful. The staff was definitely very polite.

The one and only thing I didn't like was how small the towels are in the bathroom in the room. Other than that everything was good.

When I stayed at this property before, it was great! No complaints. On this trip, the pool was closed, you have to pay for parking now, the coffee and ice cream counter is now a pizza place ($16+ whole pies only), and the gym was closed. A little disappointed in the price I paid for this stay compared to the amenities that were available. Staff is friendly and location is great but will probably look at other comparable properties in the future.
