Residence Inn by Marriott Portland Downtown/Pearl District

Breakfast seemed really understaffed. Didn't have dishes at 8am, a lot were empty, didn't have time to wait as we had a scheduled itinerary. Bathroom was out of soaps in the shower when we arrived. Just not what we expected for the price point, and they push $50 valet parking when the parking across the street is $20 a night... Won't probably stay there again even though it was a great location for the event we traveled there for.

They put us in a family room all the way at the end where the train and homeless were very noisy. I care for the fact that they can't control the homeless, but they should get better noise cancelling barriers. Also, there were like only 6 channels and no good kid friendly ones.

Spacious room and clean kitchen and fridge. It was great that there were paper towels, dish soap, and a sponge. staff was friendly as well

Pillows were flat, water in the lobby was always empty, there were no house slippers available for guests (front desk said they had run out), and the location was not as central as I had hoped

I liked the spacious rooms, the courtyard, and the gym. Close walking distance to so many awesome places. They offered spa water and coffee in the lobby.

I wasn't a fan of the half shower door however the bathrooms are beautiful and lots of great lighting.

Goede kamer met een keuken ( studio) . Tevens mooie binnenplaats(tuin) om even buiten te zitten. Teven een ruimte met wasmachines + drogers die je kunt huren voor wassen. Het hotel ligt op de rand van een trendy stuk ( PEARL district) van de binnenstad met veel winkels en restaurants

De achterzijde van het hotel is tegenover een treinrails waar in de nacht goederentreinen over heen rijden! Daar ben je niet blij als je daar een kamer hebt. In eerste instantie waren wij daar ingedeeld maar na bezwaar hiertegen bij de receptie werden wij overgeplaatst !

This hotel is nothing special. It is located near the river, but it is one or two miles to shops and restaurants downtown, in the Pearl District and on 23rd. We paid for a river view, but the windows were covered with an adhesive film - for what reason I cannot imagine - that obscured and distorted the view. The bed was comfortable. The room was small with a tiny closet, cramped bathroom and small television. The “artwork” was laughable. The furniture was meh and the weird placement of the mirror made it difficult to use. The room wasn’t dirty , but it wasn’t particularly clean, either. This room had a worn-out feel. I can’t imagine booking a room here in the future.

Arrival and checking was easy, reception gave me a lot of information from parking to going ons in the city. A good assortment for breakfast and rooms were comfortable.

Needed cleaning. Elevator looked like someone may have had an acceident on the panel and was not completely wiped down. Our room could have used another round of cleaning on doors, walls, TV and the bathroom shower.

Surprisingly good experience at this hotel, which was sparkling clean and in a great location. Big room with cleanest shower I have seen in awhile. Breakfast is included. Valet parking is contracted out and costs $59/night, however. Staff, especially Roy, were accommodating and fun. Would stay again.

Property is located in Pearl District downtown Portland and close to plenty of food joints and public transportation facilities.

Breakfast had limited choice but the staff and servers were fantastic.

Loved everything about this property! We stayed in the 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite. It was perfect for our group. Very spacious. Shout out to David in the restaurant! Such a fun guy and super nice!

Everything was clean and tidy. Great pool with all kind of games for the kids. Nice patio with bbq and fire pits. Comfortable bar for dining and drinks on the evening.

The hotel is quite close to union station, so you see some homeless people around

We chose Residence Inn because we were staying for 5 days and wanted to be able to stay where there are comfortable beds, a kitchen and cooking tools to cook a few meals, and a safe environment. Residence Inn met all the criteria. It was in a higher-end area of Portland, and there were no homeless people in our vicinity. The streets and sidewalks were clean. We felt safe. The valet service always went above and beyond to help us as well. They were great. Front desk was great, all staff were great. Room was good size.

The downsides of our particular room include: 1. The shower would not freely drain and so we were left standing in an inch of water when showering and then it took a while for the shower to drain completely. We didn't say anything to management because it's a hassle. And we don't want to be hassled, especially while we are staying there. 2. The complimentary breakfast was terrible, terrible, terrible. It was the same canned, stale, watered down food that you get at most hotels where breakfast is provided. 3. The bed wasn't super comfortable, but it wasn't super uncomfortable either. The fitted sheets wouldn't stay on and the bed was medium to firm. I woke with hip pains the next morning which is why I try to avoid firm mattresses. 4. The hotel was clean everywhere until Friday and then the place looked like a dump. The floors needed swept and vacuumed, dirty handprints everywhere. It even looked like someone peed on the wall in the elevator. It was very busy over the weekend and I'm sure the staff were working hard, but they didn't keep up on the weekends as far as the common areas.

We had a suite that was large and had great views. We were close to where we needed to be. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Parking not convenient but valet system works- just have to plan ahead.

Great location, great value when booked in advance, friendly staff, lots of space in the rooms, well equipped kitchenette, plenty of street parking.

All was good

Super ADA kitchen unit. Lots of space. Wheelchaired comfortably.

Bathtubs are just not as friendly as walk in showers.

Room was not set for the right amount of people that was gonna stay. Chipped cups Nothing was discussed upon check in about extra charges.

We did an overnight trip to Portland and were impressed at the cleanliness of the hotel and great location. Unfortunately our normal hotel that we would stay at in the S Waterfront has declined in ratings so we were looking for another spot that was dog friendly. This was great and appreciated it was a flat $100 per stay for our pets. It was convenient with a first floor room to be able stroll outside through the courtyard to walk the pups. The only tiny nit is the one nearby park with grass was not dog friendly. Self parking was in a neighborhood garage right behind the hotel and was just $14 by the time we checked out the following morning. Great location and room!

The room and hotel was very clean, breakfast was excellent, family friendly, nice property to walk, full length mirror, comfortable room, nice amenities, affordable street parking available, and friendly staff.

There are yellow metal sheets that run the length of the windows, obscuring the views. The pool is small and there is not hot tub.

They went above and beyond to make things easy and convenient for me. I really appreciated their great attitude and excellent service. They both deserve the highest rating.

Great place. Great free breakfast. All service was spot on and friendly and professional. Some really good people. The Valet was well run and fast. I will miss Robert the valet who was always quick with a one liner and a happy greeting. A all around wonderful experience.

Hot tub hours need to be later for adults only

I stayed here with my 2 big dogs and it worked out great! They have an enclosed courtyard that's perfect and safe for dogs and people to get some fresh air and walk around. The room was clean, the kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils I needed, the bed was comfortable, and the lighting was great. Steven the valet, and Morgan at the front desk were both helpful and attentive. Lots of great retail and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk.

We had a lovely time and everyone who worked at the hotel was so so lovely. Particularly our valet driver Robert! He was always kind and incredibly friendly. He certainly has a magic about him☺️

A big shout out to the staff for a lovely stay experience while my husband and I relocated to Portland. Everyone from the front desk, housekeeping, dining room/bar, maintenance, and valet were kind and helpful. The whole valet team were great. One special mention of Rob in valet is warranted. He greeted me every day with a warm smile and "The best day of my life!" when I asked how his day was going. Thank you to the entire staff for a lovely experience.

Robert is so friendly, attentive, and always a joy to talk! The entire staff were helpful and made sure my stay was comfortable at all times.

We stayed here over the holidays due to a relocation after our house flooded. Steven and Robert the valets were amazing; incredibly kind, friendly and welcoming. Robert especially went out of his way to make sure we and our pup were well taken care of.

Robert the valet was excellent- made our stay feel comfortable and easy. Always friendly, efficient and helpful. We hope to see him again when we return here!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff was excellent - helpful, courteous and friendly. Our studio room overlooking the courtyard was terrific, quiet, comfy and very clean. The breakfast was super impressive, a great spread with lots of choices. Again, we appreciated the staff who were preparing and keeping the breakfast tidy. We were allowed to check out an hour late which we really appreciated. The valet staff, especially Robert and Steven, were awesome, they were very quick and efficient and we had fun joking around with them. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel enough. If we are ever in townn again, we'll be back!

One of the best stays I’ve had with Marriott! The room was comfortable, but the staff truly made me feel welcomed and appreciated. Steven, Robert and Jazmine to name a few always took great care of me and made this feel like more than just a work trip. We enjoyed our stay at the residence inn marriot pearl district. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel bar was convenient with quick and friendly service. We especially enjoyed Steve’s and Robert’s friendly faces at the valet.

Great experience! Nice and clean well equipped room, nice area with lots to walk to, decent food and drink at the lobby restaurant. All of the staff, from front desk to housekeeping are super friendly, and Steven and all the PMC valets were friendly as well! We had two days of meetings in their conference room and were very happy with the room and catering, too.

No black out curtains on some bedroom windows in 2 bedroom suite with bright street lamps outside. Breakfast was closed off early at 9 am and we were not told. This is too early. Some mood lighting would be appreciated in the rooms. Property was very clean though and that is appreciated!

We actually prioritize this hotel because of the great service (and conversation!) that he provides. Highly recommend staying here if you’re gonna be in the city and want to trust your vehicle w the right people.

The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Kitchen made it very convenient for a longer stay! Valet were very quick and front desk staff were very kind and accomodating. Outdoor courtyard was lovely and the firepits were perfect for cool weather. Breakfast buffet was convenient and tasty.

Shower was open concept with no curtains so you would get cold.

This hotel is one of the most comforting places to stay in Portland. Every time I come here for business I stay here. Another underrated aspect of this hotel is the valet, Robert. The man never has a frown on his face and is always so pleasant. Man is a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. He always goes above and beyond to make people feel welcome.

Shoutout Robert and the Staff. Everyone’s super dope and welcoming. Everything asked for was taken care of within minutes. If you’re concerned about location, safety, peace of mind and customer service. They got it all locked down here. Mahalo everyone
