Modern, clean, trendy, great design.
No exercise room.
Perfect location in Petaluma downtown, beautiful building, spacious and comfortable rooms. Lots of common space and a charming courtyard to hang out, have a drink, etc.
They don´t have a breakfast area, only a Bakery attached where you can get a coffee and pastry to go.
Clean
Shower head needs to be cleaned.
room small
An Historical beauty and surpise. Well worth visiting.
Parking can be challenging.
Everything was great except our room was 86° when the AC wasn't working. The room stayed warm up until about 5am then we noticed a couple hours where we felt cool. The kitchen staff was very loud at 11pm and 5am waking us up and the trash service ran at 4 am crashing the dumpsters around. Our sleep was interrupted multiple times each evening. My husband ended up in the ER due the lack of sleep and stress.
Checked in early but was charged a fee but that was understandable. Cool building and enjoyed the elevator
Nothing at this time.
The hotel is in a historic building and it definitely has character. The lobby was probably the highlight since it preserves a lot of that 1920 feel.
There were several things that were disappointing about the stay (especially considering the price): there was a strange odor in the hallways (probably from old carpeting), it was impossible to figure out the room heating/air conditioning remote, so I ended up just turning it off, and they want to charge you $6 for a bottle of water unless you have status with Hilton.
This is a boutique-type hotel in downtown Petaluma, CA. It was once a bank building, and there are "left-overs" in the decor from that era: exposed piping, an elevator with a lot of character(!), and a very distinctive street entrance. There's a beautiful outdoor court-yard that I found relaxing. Breakfast is offered in a little cafe, and guests are given a room-credit per day. Beds, bathroom and linens are great! Only difficulty was parking, which is common in such city-settings. We didn't need to use the off-site parking, but it was offered with a pass for the car. In walking distance to food, shops, and entertainment. Stay here when you're in Petaluma!
Pleasant, helpful desk staff. Quiet room, comfortable.
This was a wonderful surprise and one of our favorite hotels on our trip. The hotel has a beautiful historic charm while still feeling updated and elegant. The courtyard leading to the lobby is lovely, and the lobby itself is beautifully furnished—we found ourselves taking photos because it was so stylish. Check-in was efficient and friendly. Our room was tastefully decorated, very clean, and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the blackout curtains worked well, and despite facing the street from a corner room, it was remarkably quiet at night. The bathroom was small but thoughtfully designed with attractive subway tile and all the amenities we needed. We also appreciated the in-room refrigerator and especially the complimentary filtered water station near the front desk, which made it easy to refill our water bottles each day. The café in the lobby was another highlight, offering excellent coffee and pastries. The location was fantastic—not only is it right in downtown Petaluma, but it’s an easy walk to all the nearby restaurants, shops, and the waterfront area.
Parking requires a little planning since there is no dedicated on-site lot. We were able to find free street parking, and there is also a public parking garage nearby, but guests arriving during busier times may need a few extra minutes to secure a spot.
Really neat historic vibe and beautiful lobby area that lots of guests utilized. Great location, walking distance to everything downtown. Comfortable beds.
While it was in a great location, it is on a busy corner and there was a decent amount of traffic noise. Didn’t get the room we requested and had to move a few times. 1st room was right on the busy corner. 2nd room didn’t have a working tv. But 3rd room was great!
Very nice front desk staff, cool lobby, great location
The “superior queen” was a shoebox, which would have been ok except the AC did not work and the windows do not open. So we spent a sleepless night in a stuffy sweat box. Hilton needs to upgrade the hvac and allow the windows to open as this is unacceptable. This was a mild spring day with highs about 72. Can’t imagine what it’s like on the hot days.
Great location, nice rooms comfortable beds.
Location was great! The hotel is super cute. It has great vibes and cute little shops on the lobby floor. The access to the wine tasting from the lobby is a plus. The hotel is "dog friendly" but when my puppy barked maybe two times, I got a call about it because someone else complained. That doesn't feel very "dog friendly" to me. However, over all, I really liked the hotel.
the sizes of the rooms were small. We booked a "deluxe queen" and I had to double check with the front desk that they put us in a deluxe queen because it did not feel very deluxe. Also, the walls were pretty thin and you could hear every door open and close around you.
Basically, everything went well.
Poor parking. No breakfast. Little cafe food quite disappointing.
I liked a lot about this hotel. And I liked all the staff I met. I never met the manager but I am almost certain I wouldn't like them. And for that reason I won't go back. Here's why: The strict check-in time is a huge turn-off. You show up at 1:30p, and it's $50 additional to get into your room because check-in time is FIRMLY 3pm. And at 2:45pm you still need to pay an additional $25? (And staff was trained to say, hey we are just really busy and we've got a lot of rooms to turn over -- to which I said, well that doesn't change whether or not I fork over another fifty dollars, does it? Either the rooms are available or not.) It just isn't a way to welcome someone into a hotel. What did I like? The staff are cheerful and kind, even when they have to enforce an absurd check-in policy. Hot coffee at 5am by the friendliest night auditor ever. Beds are comfortable and clean and the rooms are well-decored. Not to like? No onsite parking and you get a highly-detailed soliloquoy about parking options (none of them are ideal) instead of a nicely manicured handout. Likely you'll end up parking on the street and moving your car every two hours. No gym facilities, but you can go to 24 Hour Fitness. Do you have a courtesy relationship with them? No, no we don't. Do you have a business center where I can print out materials? No, but send us an email and we'll print it for you. What's the email? Email is uttered -- and it's long. I try and repeat it back. I mess up. They start looking for a business card and can't find one. Verdict: Super cute hotel. Houskeeping is awesome, staff are great. Management is terrible. I'm going back to Petaluma next week but I have already cancelled my reservation here because I'm arriving in the middle of the day and I want to be welcomed when I arrive and that won't happen here. I'll stay at a franchise hotel down the street where, if there's a room available, I'm pretty sure they'll let me in.
Excellent location and a beautiful hotel
The room was so small that chairs could not fit. It was not really pet friendly. If we wanted dinner there we would have to sit & eat in the lobby. Parking was inconvenient.
Comfortable. Great older bldg and architecture
Nothing
L’emplacement.
Le manque de parking et le café trop de temps d’attente…
Location! Historic building was nice!
Great location...hotel is comfortable and clean
My issue is that the Booking final price and hotel final price don't ever seem to align...need to start finding an alternative to Booking.
The location, the parking, the ambience, the historical
Maybe a little noisy because of the building and on the weekends, but not a huge
Just ok
Location
I found this hotel to be charming. It is an historic hotel that has been nicely updated. Since it’s older, the rooms aren’t super large - but ours was very comfortable, if a bit snug. The location is phenomenal, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants downtown. We had free parking right in front of hotel for the weekend. Lobby and patio very pleasant, people hanging out, nice atmosphere
All good by us
The lobby is beautiful, the staff extremely helpful and pleasant and did their utmost to accommodate me and make sure my stay was pleasant. At all hours. I appreciated the attention paid to how the visit was going.
This is probably outside the hotel's control, but there's an attached bakery/coffee shop and it would be great if they accepted cash. Pulling out a credit card and being confronted with a tip challenge first thing in the morning is a bit much.
I used to be a Hilton guy, joining in 95 I didn’t slot if nights, but somewhere along the line I became a Starwood guy now Bon Voy and forgot about Hilton until recently. I am living the Tapestry hotels, great value, interesting properties in exciting places. Well done! The downtown Petaluma built in 1923 is really fun, and with Shuckers and Costeaux under the same roof you don’t have to go far for a great meal. But with so many options in Petaluma you could easily spend a week just exploring. Our room with its own heat pump was cool in the heat and quiet. And with free parking, it’s a great value. Would definitely stay here again!
Historic nature
Room and bath on the small side
This property is top tier in every respect. I have stayed here several times and never been disappointed.
parking
Wonderful location with easy access to downtown shops and restaurants. Despite being very busy and my room was right behind the elevator, it was super quiet in the room.
Not much could be done about this, but the view out the windows was not attractive (buildings and alley)
The hotel was lovely. The lobby is beautiful. The staff is friendly and accommodating and we got a wonderful corner room on the second floor overlooking the street with lots of light.
The experience was wonderful. No criticisms.
We were there for one night.
The renovation was a missed opportunity. Work was poorly done and maintenance is haphazard at best.
We licked the overall feel and architecture. The room was nice and the staff were fantastic.
I tried to change my reservations through Booking and was unable to. I could not change through Hilton as I used Booking. :-[
Close to everything
Parking
Location
First room thermostat was not working, 2nd room sufficient but first one is nicer.
Even on a cold rainy day with lobby full of people they don’t want to turn on fireplace, I imagine to save money but it’s a shame and inhospitable
Beautiful old building, friendly helpful staff, in the historical downtown.
Our room was a bit smaller than expected and with less light/windows. No parking.
It’s quaint. Been here before, wanted to share the experience with friends.
The elevator was broken, they moved us to a smaller room and the stairs were difficult for my friends to negotiate. Then the fireplace was broken which was the best part about the lounge area and it was just a damp wet evening where the room was too small for us (4) to hang out in.. *my first experience was delightful with all those little things that make it feel relaxing..
The building itself is beautiful, the lobby is very nice.
Very tiny bathroom, poor amenities, asked for a nondown pillow and it was terrible, very loud, you could hear a lot in adjacent rooms.
We were so happy to have found hotel Petaluma. We selected it for it’s location which is equidistant from California wine country and San Francisco. It was exactly as pictured and expected. We enjoyed all the comforts that one comes to expect with staying at a Hilton location, but we were charmed by the historic building and the surrounding Petaluma area. There are so many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Plus, in the hotel there is a delightful coffee bar and bakery, cheese shop, and the lobby bar serves excellent cocktails. The customer service was fantastic and the hotel staff went above and beyond to help us and make our stay comfortable. We are looking forward to a return stay in the future!
Very clean, very friendly and helpful staff! Great hotel
Nothing except we were by the road and it’s a lot of road noise
Staff were super friendly Loved style of the place Quiet room
No free WiFi Coffee in lobby was harsh No dog waste bins so had to search for a bin on the street somewhere
Beds
Very noisy, dogs barking and you could hear people in room across from us. Pipes were loud too
The lobby and bar were very cool but got very crowded at Saturday happy hour with locals. The staff were very nice.
I was given a room off the elevator and stairs. I asked to change. They couldn’t because the hotel was full they said. They offered earplugs and to call neighboring rooms if there was too much noise. There was too much noise until about 2 am. I can’t wear earplugs when sleeping and I didn’t know which rooms were noisy to report. The walls are paper thin. The next door occupants sounded like they were in my room when conversing and they had a big dog! Doors started opening and closing around 6 am, to take dogs outside for their business I imagine. The bed was not comfortable. Felt cheap and too soft. Had a terrible night sleep.
The Location
I reserved 2 rooms for myself and 2 friends who had just flown in from London, we had 2 deluxe Queens, there was nothing deluxe about them, soooh small, we thought we had been given the wrong rooms, I was staying two nights, and they were staying 3, after the 1st night my friends were told that they would have to move on the last night as the elevator would not be going to the 4th floor, they could cancel the last night or do a move, my friends really didn’t want to pack up and move as they liked the location, so Ben front desk, said he had found a room for them on the second floor, which was slightly better, we had no help, we then had to find a trolley and do the move ourselves, and they had a lot of luggage .This was definitely not a Hilton Class Hotel, most embarrassing for me as I had made the reservations But we made the best of it I will never stay in a Franchise Hotel ever again, the only good thing about the Hotel was Ben the front desk and the location Thank you
Very nice. Ill be back
Fantastic quaint historic hotel in an absolutley gorgeous historical location of Petaluma. Beautiful hotel in an ideal location in Petaluma. The food is good and the bartenders are exceptional. The lobby of the hotel takes you back in time to the hotel's origin. The hotel is a bit noisey due to it's location but it does not last for very long. This hotel is likely better for guests without younger children. Take note: if you book a room on the 5th floor you will have to walk up stairs from the 4th floor since the elevator only services the first four floors.
Nice hotel in downtown Petaluma. Bed was quite comfortable. Do NOT get room 201 or any room at the corner of E. Washington & Kentucky as you are above the towns busiest intersection with a beeping crosswalk. Via the Hilton Honors app, I selected a room on the 4th floor and very far away from that busy intersection but I was given room 201. Since I was only there 1 night I did not complain (until now). I should have complained but I hate being the senior citizen complaining to the young front desk clerk. Also, I requested ahead of time to have non-feather pillows but got 4 duck feather pillows. Service needs some improvement. Bonus: nice coffee shop on the first floor. Yes, I’ll stay here again because it’s the only hotel I could find to downtown Petaluma.
Location good but shocked no parking
The rooms muggy. Could hardly breath. Bad control on air. Air pressure bad. No ventilation.
Comfortable, clean, good service
really enjoyed the restored 1927 hotel lobby and courtyard, which were very pleasant . The desk staff were especially helpful.
Very small bathroom
Hemos dormido fatal.
Service was friendly, bathroom was nice, lobby was well kept
Unfortunately, the HVAC was broken during our stay and we were provided a small space heater to heat the room. The space heater did heat the room but the room temperature was not in balance during the night. It was either too hot or too cold, which lead to a poor nights sleep with constant adjusting of the space heater.
Our room and hotel is beautiful
Street parking only
Great location
Room had a plug in heater because the heat wasn't working. Our family staying another room didn't have hot water
The old building and interior design, which went so well with the building itself. Cleanliness, staff, location. Couldn't be better
Can't name a thing
A beautiful and historic hotel.
Steep price for the lack of amenities.
Really cute historic building. Roaring fire place and bar a nice touch around the holidays. Staff very helpful and friendly.
The location is fantastic. You can't beat the location, how ever parking is freaking Bitc... It took me for ever to find a place to park. Once I did I felt more relaxed and ready to start the day. I did like. that I can take the fast train to SF.. Loved that... Lots of wonderful shops, food and fast train.. I tagged you on my Tik-Tok....
Just a few things.. No hot water in the bathroom sink. I waited for ever and it really never got hot.. Be patient cause the parking is a nightmare. It was a Sunday and the hotel had a wedding so it's understandable. The next night however was a Monday-still parking was a freaking tense.
