La Quinta by Wyndham Rochester Mayo Clinic Area South

Parking is not sufficient to accommodate all of the guests so we (and many other guests) had to park on the grass along the road. Check-in went smoothly and the room initially appeared to be fairly clean. However, we did discover several dead cockroaches in the room and more in the downstairs hallway. Our stay was largely uneventful aside from several very loud guests that the hotel staff was unwilling to address. I suppose they handle that the same way they handle the cockroaches - by ignoring them. It is also worth noting that this location does not honor the published pet policy. It states: "Max 2 pets for 25 USD per night per room to a max charge of 75 USD." However, the fee charged is $25 per pet per night and there appears to be no limit on the amount they charge as we were charged more than $75. When we requested that the charge be adjusted to reflect the published fee schedule, they refused and told us it "isn't their problem." They blamed it on Wyndham, but Wyndham only publishes exactly what the hotel provides. Over one month later and the hotel continues to publish the above written policy, but in practice, continues to charge more. We would not stay here again.

The double queen suite was very spacious. The pull out need was more comfortable than other pull out beds. The two queens beds were extremely uncomfortable, the slanted down towards the feet. There was a terribly strong air freshener smell that i noticed right upon checking in.. it lingered in the rooms and hall our entire 4 day stay- i confirmed with the front desk and the gal showed me the freshener they use. It was giving me and my kids a headache. Its strong, smells like harsh chemicals, and is overused throughout the whole property. Breakfast was mediocre. Flavorless waffles and wet scrambled eggs. The pool was so heavily chlorinated we didn't stay very long. It was hard just to breathe. Our beds had black hair all over it. When called the front for new sheets, they gave us sheets with brown streaks on them. Also, the curtains do not fully close. There was bright light in all day and night. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all completely out. I found out in the shower trying to get ready for church. They also don't have any water on site. I asked for any water fountains or anything to drink and they said they didn't have anything available unless you bought bottled water. So, if you're just looking for a big room- this is your place. If you're looking for any type of quality, go to a different place. I have used this hotel chain before without problems, so I'm guessing this is just a management issue.

If you don’t like dive bars, and have a lot of money to spend, this is not the hotel for you. The property is not well maintained, lots of cleaning is needed, found a hair in the shower, BUT, the night attendant went out of his way to accommodate my family. Through my OWN fault, I thought I had reserved a room with a queen and a sofa bed. Turns out it was one room for 2 adults and 1 child. Night attendant (I want to say his name is Keith(?) went above and beyond to bring us a rollaway and set it up for us. This was a one night stay, and I wasn’t expecting much, but the night attendant was apparently a hard worker and cared a whole bunch about the property, but you could see clearly he was beaten down by poor management and lack of staff. There are still good people in the world, and shout out to night attendant for giving me hope in humanity in a dark world.

Have been to Rochester 3 times in the past year for 6 days at a time. La Quinta was the best. Clean, good breakfast, friendly staff and wonderful pools to take our grandson.

Clean, modern decor, free breakfast! I wish they would have softer sheets and out soap dispensers were all out. So we had to call for refills. Other than that inexpensive close to bars and restaurants and movie theaters.

Great place clean and not far from mayo

My daughter had an appointment at Mayo and as we were checking in, the front desk clerk was So Helpful with the Shuttle information and made us feel Welcomed. We tried out the pool and Hot Tub and loved that it was a Salt water pool. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We both slept well. After we got back home and as I was unpacking my suitcase I realized I had left my swimsuit hanging on the bathroom door in our motel room. I called the motel and asked if they found my swimsuit. They took my phone number and called me back saying they have my swimsuit. I am So impressed by the wonderful Service we received from La Quinta Motel! We will definitely stay there again!

Great location- very clean spacious room with 2 queen beds. Kuerig coffee maker with ample pods. Pool and hot tub which we did not use but looked nice and clean. Breakfast was good.

We paid $500 for 2 nights for everything in our room to be dirty or broken. First impression was our door had a chunk missing out of it. We walk in and it smells damp and gross. The front light by the main entry flickered nonstop. The floor of the bathtub was yellow. Our hand soap was completely empty. Our lampshade on the night stand was broken off and didnt stay straight up. You had to lean it against the wall. Another lamp shade looked like someone punched it and the other was peeling. One of the curtains had a huge stain on the bottom. Assuming that was from some sort of water damage because in the same corner the trim was separating from the wall. And to top it all off our phone in our room had the cord cut. The worst hotel I've ever been to.

We stayed at the La Quinta in Rochester MN. We had a nice room on the 4 the floor. It was clean and roomy. Big bathroom! No complaints. There's a microwave, refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker. Free breakfast downstairs. Full breakfast, scrambled eggs, waffles, cereal, bagels toast, muffins, apples, sausage gravy, mashed potatoes (weird), fresh coffee and juices. Staff was super nice. My friend and I stayed here a month ago in a different room but same type. It was really bad. The lamp shade was totally busted up, the dresser had broken drawers. Dirty under the beds. It was a totally different experience. Even though there were issues with that room we both agreed we'd stay there again. So here we are!! And we got a great room this time!! They allow pets (for a small fee $25) I brought my Chihuahua Hickory. He was a perfect traveler. I recommend this hotel! I'd rate it a 7/10.

For a newer hotel, the rooms look beat. Lots of mold in showers. Rusted bathroom door frames. My fridge was broken. Four days arguing with then, it finally froze all my food solid! Painting done by a 2 year old, they painted tiles and mirror. Dresser was sitting on shims, but still not level enough for drawers to open. Microwave didnt have a working turntable. Lampshades had holes in them. I think this room had a wrestling match! Sure was not a room to rent out. Needs lots of work La Quinta!!!!

The staff is wonderful. They are very friendly and helpful. I was there alone at Mayo Clinic and they made sure I got everywhere I needed to. They showed me how to get around town. Very nice people.

The Priceline listing is a misrepresentation. No AIRPORT SHUTTLE IS OFFERED. It was annoying to find this out at the end of making a booking.

The rooms were a decent, comfortable size. Also very affordable.

First day of a 3 day stay, the box spring broke on one bed and they could replace or relocate me to another room. Second day the bathroom sink knob fell off..

The title of the hotel said Mayo clinic, it is not near the Mayo clinic or hospital. It is about a 15 min drive from them. I booked this thinking it was near the clinic for a surgery in the morning. The carpets and furniture were stained and only one ice maker on the 2nd floor was working.

This is a clean hotel compared to others. Keeping things updated is very important and they do okay there. Staff has been friendly and helpful. Its been frustrating as both times we've stayed our heat did not work! They did mske it right. We have stayed there frequently as we are been seen at Mayo. Wish there was more of a discount for patients.

Would like more of a discount for Mayo patient extended stay. Make sure all rooms are working properly Heat, etc..

We traveled to Rochester for a medical appointment. Staying at La Quinta was stress-free, with easy check in and out, friendly staff, delicious hot breakfast, and the most comfortable mattresses for a great restful sleep! Parking is nearby and free. The price is reasonable.

This hotel is in very poor condition. The lobby had an unpleasant odor and felt dingy. Our room smelled strongly of mold, and the drapes were visibly moldy with dirty carpets throughout. We tried opening the hallway windows for fresh air, but the employee smoking area was directly below, which made it even worse. This property is in serious need of upkeep and maintenance. Overall, it was much worse than expected.

The breakfast, the noise, staff always questioning why we needed another blanket. Our room did not stay warm. Phone usually doesn't work, spout for sinks pop off if you turn it the wrong way.

Housekeeping is loud in the morning, breakfast is bland eggs are always overcooked, when asking for extra blankets it's always a problem.

I like that they have wifi and tv. The breakfast is always a hit or miss. Very generic. Northern Minnesota offers different syrups during the holidays and more festive. This laquinta lacks seasons tidings.

Breakfast, only 1 washer machine out of 4 work. The better dryer is connect to the washer machine that works. Computer doesn't work either and they do not have a sign on it so how are we supposed to know? Also the amount of noise that comes from the hallway during the weekends is ridiculous. Children running up and down the stairs, running in the hallway. Parents just letting them do whatever they please.

Location was decent, close enough to the Mayo clinic and they offer shuttle services to/from the clinic. Breakfast is okay, always the same everyday. Could improve in this area by changing the daily menu. The kids enjoyed the pool. The staff are friendly, especially the staff in charge of breakfast.

There were cochroaches - in the hot tub and in our room. Even with the "do not disturb" sign hanging on the doorknob, housekeeping still knocked on our door and when we didn't answer, she opened the door thinking we weren't there. The shuttle service didn't have a ramp for transporting PWD with wheelchair.

Broken hot tub

The room we staid in was incredibly dirty, drawers were broken, and a broken mini fridge. The bathroom had some sort of grit all over the floor and mold all over the door frame and walls.

We stayed here for a trip to Mayo Clinic. I liked that it was close enough to Mayo to drive back and forth but not too close that it felt crowded and busy. The room was super clean, the amenities were great. We didn't bring our kiddos with us, but the kiddie area in the pool was fantastic. We enjoyed watching others playing and giggling in there.

I personally thought the room smelled almost stale. But the room was mostly clean and comfy. Just what i need for a quick night stay for 2 days of doctor appointments.

The room was clean. The shower did have some spots that needed to be cleaned better and tile work was attempted to be fixed, but not done the best. Breakfast was so-so. They served biscuits and gravy and it didn't seem fresh. There was a small container of what seemed to be left over of the gravy. No fruit options.

Had to switch rooms to begin with because air did not work called front desk she said she would come look and 20 minutes later still had not come up so had to call again and ask to just switch rooms she said yeah come down I'll give you the new keys ended up staying in room412 on 4th floor and the fridge in that room didn't work but I was too tired to move again or deal with it the room was dirty bottles under the beds very dirty under both beds swimming pool area to dark felt really uncomfortable there was not one guest in pool or area

The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. The guy in the breakfast area is so great to talk to, very kind, keeps the area very clean. Even the cleaning guy was friendly and happy, blessing your daykialways happy. k!

The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. The location was great especially with construction around Mayo Clinic. The staff was very friendly and apologized about the fire alarms.

The musty smell from the entrance all the way up to the third floor. Our stuff ended up smelling like the hotel. The fire alarms went off for at least an hour and a customer was screaming his lungs out during the whole incident and going floor to floor yelling. Hopefully, this was a learning experience for them.

It looks like a relatively new hotel. The rooms are big and clean. I asked cor a walk in shower because it is difficult to get ina tub shower. The staff person was very nice and gave me a handicap room without chargi g me more. I will be staying here again

People in rooms above can be heard walking. Sounded like an elephant. Scared my cat. Staff are very caring and welcoming but loud in the course of their duties. Any way trash can be taken out a different door? Or use quieter carts?

Always my stay preference. Large comfortable rooms, very clean,. Across from IMAX theater, walking distance to Target. Shuttle service to hospital and clinic. Easy access to Broadway and shopping. Free parking.

The guy who stocks and cleans up in the pool room goes above and beyond his enthusiasm and energy is breathtaking for a hotel staff also the man who makes breakfast he makes our stay so much better he is kind friendly and always so nice never rude! You guys are the reason we come back time and time again also the lady cleaning the rooms!! Thank you I wish I had more money to leave you a bigger tip! Because you definitely deserve it! I’m just broke right now because I’ve been sick and off work but you do not go unseen!! Thank you for your kindness and for the clean environment you provide for us! We always stay here when we come to Rochester!

My son and his girlfriend who are 18&19 called to make a reservation . It’s been a longtime dream of his to go to the Kasson truck show. They also would be celebrating their 3 year anniversary . They called and asked as they are not 21 if they can book. They were told yes due to her having a valid credit card and being Canadian. So they booked 4 nights. I told them to double check cause it’s a long way to go to find out you are roomless in the end. So they called back and glad they did cause the next person said no! The policy is 21 regardless ! They would have been hooped.. their first trip out of country together would have been bust! There went the dream to go to the truck show and their anniversary celebration. Retrain all staff so everyone has the same knowledge about policies! That would have been a nightmare for them and out lots of money ! Extremely disappointing
