Hotel Pietra di Luna

We've stayed here quite a few times. It's a classic Italian seaside hotel. We had a great room with a nice balcony looking down to the sea. The hotel decoration is a bit dated, but it all works for us. Breakfast is great. The outside terrace is really good and we watched a live band one night. Antonio and the team at the terrace bar are very helpful. Swimming pool is fab. And it's a 30 second walk to the hotel's private beach. Location is brilliant. Very helpful and friendly front desk team.

I liked the size of the room, nice big bathroom, comfy bed, and the beautiful terrace. The bath towels were very soft and big, which I appreciated. The gentleman checking us in was very nice as well

The air conditioning needs to be upgraded or something. It just couldn't cool the room down. We didn't arrive until around 8pm and it had been off so I knew it would take awhile to cool down. I woke up at 6am because I was so hot and it still hadn't cooled down enough. EVERYTHING was GREAT except the air conditioning, but that's a big one for us unfortunately

Il maitre poco flessibile , sgorbitico con i clienti e creava ai camerieri un ambiente non sereno. Per un Hotel 4 stelle non al livello necessità di un corso di costumer service o per poter permettere all’hotel di offrire agli ospiti una vacanza 4 stelle va cambiato . Nel 2026 una persona che si pone così con i clienti che pagano una vacanza profumatamente non deve esistere. Spero che l’Hotel prenda provvedimenti per permettere all’hotel di offrire un servizio all 100%.

Location and the continental breakfast are a big plus.

Windows and doors can be replaced, are very old and even the slightest sound you'll hear. Also the room I had was positioned behind the hotel and every morning between 3-4AM a truck was coming taking the glass bottles making an horrific noise waking me up all the time for my entire 5 nights stay.

Мне нехватало в номере электрочайника, чтоб можно было сделать утром кофе, в вечером чай Душевая кабинка не очень удобная, узкая с высоким бортиком( На пляже от отеля небыло возможно взять 1 лежак и зонт за 20 евро, как на соседних пляжах, а продавали сразу 2 лежака и зонт за 50 евро .Я была сама и мне не нужно 2 лежака,я считаю, что отель должен этот момент учитывать.

Everything is ok, I would the hotel to consider to have some fresh drinks at the beach, and maybe extend the pool hours as the beach close at 7:00, the pool could close at 8:00 for a last bad before go to the rooms.

The staff were fantastic, every single staff member was so friendly from the cleaning staff to reception, the restaurant, bar and lifeguards on the beach. Having access to a private beach that is so well organised by the fantastic lifeguards really made this trip for us and is definitively a reason to return in the future

Spiaggia privata di fronte all' albergo e parcheggio privato compresi nel prezzo del soggiorno. Posizione ottima, in pieno centro, vicino a tutti i servizi. Possibilità di fare il light lunch nel bar situato nella veranda dell'albergo. Camera spaziosa con tutti i confort. Personale gentile e disponibile. Ritorneremo sicuramente.

The hotel was a great location and had a separate section for the beach and beds were reserved and at no extra cost which was great . Bar staff extremely friendly would highly recommend

Super war die Lage. Unmittelbar am Meer, dicht am Centrum. Schöner großer Pool. Bushaltestelle in der Nähe.

3- Bettzimmer sehr klein. Auch das Bad. Doppelzimmer sind größer. Klimaanlage sehr laut und hat so gut wie nicht gekühlt. Man musste das Fenster öffnen. Dann konnte man aber wegen der Lautstärke kaum schlafen. Spät. um 4 Uhr war man wach. Es wurden Paletten oder Müll abgeholt. Danach hörte man vom drunterliegenden Restaurant das Geschirr und Besteck klappern. Jeden Tag das selbe Frühstück. Zimmer sehr heruntergekommen. Eigentlich schade. Warum wird da nichts investiert? Aus dem Hotel könnte man einiges rausholen.

Location is exceptional, walking distance to everything, across the road from the beach and the pool was great.

A great stay. The hotel rooms are a bit dated, but that’s a minor issue. Breakfasts feature fresh food, and the service is excellent—always polite and friendly. Rooms are cleaned daily, even on Sundays, with fresh towels provided every day. The location is fantastic, right next to the beach. The hotel has a private beach area with free sun loungers. It’s also a great base for sightseeing.

Everything was wonderful. The location was perfect, easy to find and easy to access restaurants. I did not get to experience the beach, but it looked beautiful. The pool was great, I loved it! The breakfast was great and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Thank you!!

Heerlijk hotel, dicht bij zee, eigen strand met voor de hotelgasten gratis strandbestemming en parasol, gratis parkeren, goed ontbijt, schone kamers, fijne douche, goed (en veel) personeel. Maiori is een prima uitvalbasis voor het verkennen van de Amalfi kust.

Niets veel tegen. Kamers en algemene inrichting ogen wat oud, maar zijn goed onderhouden. Airco is aanwezig, maar oud en beperkte capaciteit (net voldoende). "Grootste" minpuntje was de bescherming van het matras onder het hoeslaken. Deze kraakt wat en ventileert niet.

Struttura pulita e l'ottima colazione sono il punto forte. Il balcone della stanza con vista è aperto sul mare e piacevole da frequentare nel tardo pomeriggio.

La struttura risente di alcune parti datate. Il bagno è cieco e, incredibilmente, senza aeratore: la stanza deve essere a lungo arieggiata per eliminare l'umidità dopo la doccia- La doccia con porta difettosa e scarico difficoltoso.

ottima posizione comoda anche per il parcheggio interno colazione buona, ottima visuale, albergo ben posizionato rispetto al mare

Staff was not friendly and seemed to be pretentious.

This lovely hotel was as expected from previous reviews friendly and clean with lovely food albeit limited of an evening with the choice of 3 starters and mains and a dessert fruit or icecream. Water is €3 and we had a fabulous bottle of wine from Ravello every evening for €20. The restaurant was well organised and lovely to be waiter serviced by the magnificent Maitre ‘D and his fabulous staff. Breakfast was buffet with a huge cake and pastries table along with cereals and fruit and yoghurts and toast scrambled eggs and bacon come meats and cheese. The decor is 70’s throughout the hotel but spotlessly clean. The room was very small and the shower pressure was poor and alternated between hot snd cold whilst running. The aircon poor but was surprised that it was actually working 5th-12th June so a bonus! The pool was large and not cold. The private free beach with sunbed and umbrella a bonus but incredibly busy at the weekend. Take swim shoes as it is a pebble beach with stones and upon entry into sea it also drops quite quickly within a few meters it is deep. We had a fabulous live band one evening shame it was the only entertainment and that was on Sunday. Maiori itself was lovely and on the flat with a pretty marina where we got the ferries from for Amalfi, Minori, Cetara and Vietri Sul Mare. Reasonably priced you can book at the kiosks or online with the ferry company Travelmar as I did. I highly recommend Ravello stunning with Rufolo Gardens we pre booked the Amico Shuttle bus guarantees your return travel it cost €16 each more expensive that the Sita local bus but not chaotic like we saw. We got the bus from Amalfi. Overall a fabulous holiday. Hotel in excellent location and given the friendly staff and cleanliness and good food I recommend.

Nagyon jó helyen van, könnyű a parkolás, a reggeli is rendben volt. A szoba jó méretű, az ágy kényelmes. A buszmegálló kb. 20 méterre van a szállodától.

A teraszajtó nem csukódott rendesen egyik szobában sem, ez a szeles időben kicsit zavaró volt.

PROS: I found it quaint, quirky and old-fashioned in a good way, specifically the decor and the sit down evening meal all of which gave the hotel character. I echo all the positive comments regarding location and staff. CONS: Despite being at the back it was quite noisy at night since there was no A/C so I had to leave my window open so I was woken every hour by the church bell and the staff filling up the bins; no sunbeds on beach as advertised; the only option for lunch was salad and the pool wasn't heated,

A beautiful hotel in Maiori. The service was excellent from the planning stages when the hotel management answered questions and helped us book tours. This continued when we arrived at the hotel with giving us advice Regarding buses and ferries and helping us book transfers. The room and hotel were very clean. We stayed in a deluxe room with sea view and it was lovely, comfortable and well appointed. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Maiori has a long beach, boardwalk and restaurants and you experience a more local feel which we loved. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel on the sea front, with easy access to the local buses & ferry, the cleaning standards are 10/10, the mattress is hard but I asked for mattress topper which made it more comfortable The food is very good with a choice of starters & main course, and the restaurant staff are so lovely & friendly & if you don’t like something they will try to accommodate you. Authentic hotel in a fantastic location. Fabulous & friendly staff, everything in immaculate condition, super clean. Great food, incredible cocktails, lovely pool, sea views. The perfect base for exploring the Amalfi coast with easy bus or ferry links to where you want to visit. Highly recommend

Hotel is nice, very good location, nice restaurant and pool area, also free parking. Breakfast was ok, normal choices.

But rooms are quite old and not really much. We haven’t blanket in our room, but there isn’t heater also and only one towel at first… bed and pillows quite hard and uncomfortable.

Posizione fantastica! Fronte spiaggia, centrale, vicino al porto per i traghetti (unico modo per muoversi in costiera). Vicina a tutti i servizi. Parcheggio piccolo ma utilissimo. Sabato sera con uno splendido spettacolo di musica offerto nella hall. Colazione abbondante e davvero buona con vista su piscina e mare. Stanza grande e attrezzata di tutti, silenziosa. Un terrazzino splendido con vista laterale sul mare e sdraiette. Peccato non aver usufruito della piscina per la temperatura ancora bassa nonostante il periodo.

Devo ammettere che l' idillio si interrompe a letto. Grande si ma di una scomodità unica insieme ai cuscini. Due notti per questo quasi insonni per tutti e due. un po' caro ma siamo in costiera..

Although the hotel looks at first sight to be a bit dated it’s immaculately clean and feels like home. The breakfast is very good with a choice of teas, and coffees ( including cappuccino) and scrambled eggs with crispy streaky bacon, ham , salad, cheese, salami, and a great selection of cakes and croissants. The pool was open but very cold at this time of year and could do with being heated. The sea was warmer but still a bit cold. The only thing that we could fault was the fact that the bed had a plastic mattress protector which did not feel great. Everything was very clean and the evening meal was very good with waiter service, which made a pleasant change from queuing at a buffet. Very good location with a bus stop almost outside the hotel where we got the bus to all stops along the Amalfi coast, and the ferry terminal is a 15min walk.

A nice looking hotel with its artdeco architecture. It was potlessly clean through out . Stayed here over Easter for a week with my sister and we were not disappointed. We had a twin room with a balcony that looked across the promenade to the beach . What a lovely view to wake up to each morning and we made use of this with sittingout on the chairs that were provided. Good selection at breakfast and a 3 course waiter service meal each evening included in our stay . Service in the dining room ran like clockwork with a tasty selection of food . Helpful friendly waiters. At the front of the hotel there is a terrace to sit out on to enjoy the sunshine. We would have our afternoon tea out there sitting in the sunshine. All the staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly. Could not fault this hotel . I would most certainly return as we were made to feel welcomed which added to our enjoyment . Shame the outdoor pool was not open for us to use. Ellen

Excellent traditional Italian hotel, where nothing is too much trouble for the staff & cleanliness paramount. Set meal ( with choices) did not detract picky teenage son. Keep in mind wine, water & tourist tax have to be paid at end of holiday so budget accordingly. Excellent position for town & across road from beach. Maiori good base to explore coast although amount of tourists in Amalfi spoil it & prices high. Lemon walk a must although wouldn’t like to attempt in summer. Unfortunately pool wasn’t open when we were there even though weather nice, & lovely sun loungers also couldn’t be used - only gripe is this wasn’t mentioned when booking but this may be fault of our tour operator. Would definitely return to this hotel if coming back to this area.

Fantastic hotel and location. I was initially taken back by the old deco but I think everything else that the hotel offers hugely makes up for this. Free parking, big rooms with amazing balconies/ terraces overlooking the sea, very clean and with good breakfast and drinks options from the bar. Everyone was very kind and helpful and just lovely. The location is fantastic, opposite the beach and just a few steps away from restaurants and bars and the ferry, to explore the other towns on the Amalfi coast. The hotel is also conveniently placed for the path of the lemons. It is very nice gentle hike and on the way you can stop in farmhouses selling lemonade and lemon sorbets. We had a great time and we will be back

I have just returned from a week stay in this hotel and I just like to highly reccommend this hotel. The location is absolutely great , private beach opposite hotel with free towels, sunbeds and umbrellas. The hotel has also pool and plenty of sunbeds but we rarely used it. We went half board , breakfast is buffet style with plenty of food, cereals , cakes, hot food, ham , cheese, etc. Evening meal starts at 19.30 , has 3 choices of starters, 3 main course and more choices of dessert. Plenty of food. We visited Capri by ferry €45, Amalfi by bus 3€ return, 4.80€ Salerno return and 5.60€Positano return. The views are absolutely amazing everywhere . Bus stop is almost in front of hotel, 3 min walking.Maiori and Pietra di Luna was the best base for us and highly reccomend , quieter than Positano. We also walked on the Path of Lemons which gave us stunning views of the coast. Rooms are OK, our room 415 with lateral sea view, we could have done with a kettle in the room. Cleaners are very good, every day changing towels and cleaning room. We had one night of entertainment on a Friday night. Well done to waiters and all staff. Highly recommend this hotel for couples and families.
