The breakfast was very good, with a huge selection of all kind of foods, just the coffee should have ween better. We allway's got a desk and the staff was fast and very nice!
Hard to say, as it was quite nice. If there is anything negative, would be the not so great sound isolation of the rooms as you could head a lot.
Definitely for an older English clientele . No topless thonged body beautiful’s around the pool or lane swimming 🤣. Water a tiny bit cooler than the sea . You v soon get used to it. Pool has a chair seat for lowering into pool which I thought helpful for walking difficulties. Clean rooms. Massive bath sheets ! Handy night light switch in bathroom ( no need to wake anyone with blaring lights) Small drying rack on balcony ( towels not allowed to drape over railings but I took my own mini washing line & pegs) Amazing views from balcony, day & night. Breakfast was delicious. Cocktails huge 🤭. Staff and guests alike all friendly & helpful. Good vibes all round. Many guests seem to return year after year. We will also be back ❤️.
Wondered at first if the air conditioning was set a bit too high at 21 but so long as you close the door when in & out of balcony it was fine. Husband even got nippy at night.( blankets provided in room)
Another great stay at San Matias adults only hotel in Palmonova. The rooms are clean with beautiful views. The hotel staff especially the bar and front desk folks are very friendly. The entertainment though seems to be inconsistent, with some really good and fun days and then some days where it’s not up to par. Overall a very good hotel that deserves its 4 star rating.
Beautiful hotel and property, entertainment can use some more focus
Absolutely loved this hotel, would highly recommend, friendly staff, breakfast was nice, entertainment on every night.
Das ganze anbinte war gut danke für die schöne Woche
War alles ok
A good hotel, but a disappointing experience this time This was our third stay at the hotel — once with TUI, once with Jet2, and this time we booked directly. On arrival, we were given a lovely glass of bubbly, which was a nice welcome. The young female member of staff who checked us in was delightful — friendly, welcoming and very pleasant. I want to make it absolutely clear that I have no complaint whatsoever about her. She was a credit to the hotel. There are many things we like about this hotel, and it clearly has a strong following of repeat guests. The location is our number-one reason for staying here, the rooms are nice, and the air conditioning is very good. However, there are some issues which I feel the hotel needs to address. Sea-view rooms All rooms appear to be classed the same, apart from the corner rooms, which are suites. Unfortunately, I don't feel the hotel is completely transparent with customers when it comes to the different types of sea-view rooms. Some rooms have a true front sea view, looking directly out to sea, while others have a side sea view, looking across towards the sea. In our experience, the side sea-view rooms are considerably noisier because of the restaurant next door. We are elderly and like to return to our room for an afternoon break. With a side sea-view room, we found it necessary to keep the balcony door closed because of the noise coming from the restaurant next door. I had specifically requested a front sea-view room because of medical reasons relating to my husband's hearing. When we checked in at approximately 11:15am on the 15th, I asked the young lady who was checking us in whether the room we had been allocated was a front sea view. I was told that it was. Unfortunately, when we got up to the room, it was actually a side sea view. I subsequently raised this with a different female receptionist — an older member of the reception team. I found her manner extremely abrupt and dismissive. I explained again why I had specifically requested a front sea view, but her response was, "We've had no complaints." I found that response particularly disappointing. The fact that other guests may not have complained does not make my individual request any less important, especially when I had explained that it was related to my husband's hearing. I appreciate that hotels cannot always guarantee a particular room, and I understand that requests are subject to availability. However, what disappointed me most was that there appeared to be no attempt whatsoever to understand our situation or find some sort of compromise. I would ask management to look at the reception rota for the 15th August at around 11:15am and identify the members of staff involved. Again, I want to make it very clear that my complaint is not about the young lady who checked us in. She was lovely and very helpful. My complaint is specifically about the older female receptionist I subsequently dealt with. I felt her attitude was rude, dismissive and lacking in consideration for the reason behind our request. Perhaps some additional customer-service training would be appropriate. We were also not acknowledged as returning guests, despite this being our third stay, which was disappointing. The positives On a much more positive note, I would like to give a special mention to the kiosk staff around the pool. They were always pleasant and hardworking. I would also like to mention the young lady who does the entertainment. She works incredibly hard to involve everyone and is constantly making an effort to include guests in what is going on. She is a real credit to the hotel. There is also a small touch around the pool that we particularly like — the hotel plays Capital Radio softly in the background, which creates a nice atmosphere. One suggestion, though, would be to consider switching the radio off in the afternoons when the restaurant next door has a singer performing. When the live music is particularly loud, the radio ends up competing with it, which makes for a rather strange combination of two sources of music at once. It might be worth turning the radio off while the singer is performing. Smoking policy One other point I feel needs addressing is the hotel's smoking policy. Smoking is banned in the relevant areas, yet during our stay we saw a number of guests openly vaping despite the rule. If the hotel has a no-smoking policy, it needs to be consistently enforced. Otherwise, it is unfair to guests who follow the rules and can also affect the enjoyment of the pool and other communal areas. I would therefore suggest that staff take a more proactive approach to politely reminding guests of the policy when it is being ignored. Overall Despite the issues mentioned above, we do like this hotel and understand why it has so many repeat guests. The location is excellent, the rooms are nice, the air conditioning is good, and there are many things we enjoy about staying here. However, next year we have decided to have a change. I'm not saying that we would never return, but after three stays, we feel that it is time for a break. Hopefully, if we do return in the future, we will be met with a little more consideration and understanding of individual guests' needs — particularly when a request has been made for a genuine medical reason. Overall, this was a disappointing aspect of what could otherwise have been another enjoyable stay.
Lovely hotel especially the rooms clean and well kept.went with my teenage daughter and felt like the youngest adults ever. The demographic was pensioner tbh which left my child feeling awkward much a few times but as the week went on it was fine.breakfast was decent but don’t be past the finishing time or your plate will be away 😂 staff were very helpful and efficient ,would I go back ? Yes Never felt so young in ages.

Great location on the beach. Helpful staff and good restaurants around the hotel
The pool didn’t open until 930am.

Bad smell in room. Unfortunately, my experience at the hotel was disappointing. The room had an unpleasant smell, and the bathrooms had a strong sewage odor. This was very uncomfortable and negatively affected my stay. I hope the hotel pays more attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and ventilation.
Lovely hotel as always. Lovely staff super food. Super entertainment. Bedrooms over the sea! What more could you ask for? Have been back many times as most people there.
This was our 5th stay at the Son Matias, so that probably tells you everything you need to know. This time we were there 18 days for a celebration. Rooms are always sea view or sea and pool view, decent size, spotless, comfortable beds....no complaints there, ever. We go half board and the food is genuinely good, decent selection every time. Staff are fantastic, doesn't matter if you're a regular like us or a first timer, they're friendly, welcoming and go out of their way to help. I had a few asks around our celebration and they sorted everything without any fuss. Location is hard to beat. Right on Son Matias beach front, easy access straight from the pool area, and slap in the middle of plenty of restaurants and bars. It's also a short walk to Magaluf beach front, which has just had a €5 million refurb, smart places to eat and drink now. Don't confuse this with "the strip" chalk and cheese, completely different vibe. The bar/entertainment area has recently had a makeover and looks smart. We tend to go out most nights so can't comment on the acts ourselves, but from talking to other guests who stay in more, it's a bit hit and miss — some acts are very good, others not so much. Hotel is adult only with a genuinely good vibe throughout. My wife and i simply love this place, the hotel and Palma Nova itself. It's become our spot. The fact this hotel has return customers year after year says it all. We'll be back again next year with another celebration already on the cards.
Another lovely holiday at son Matias beach hotel, you won't find a better hotel for beautiful views . The food is excellent , especially the breakfasts . My only wish is that the pool opened earlier but that's just a niggle .All in all an excellent hotel, proven ,as this was our forth visit and not our last
Just returned from another fantastic holiday at Son Matias , from the moment we entered the reception we felt at hame , welcomed by all the staff with genuine friendleyness. Room as usual great fantastic views , choice of food excellent, bar staff efficient , cleanliness throughout 100% as always . Can’t wait to book again , going to the agent this morning . Patch and Trish
The location of the Son Matias Hotel is fantastic and the service is superb , staff are really friendly and professional. Rooms are light and airy and are well equipped, they are cleaned daily to a high standard , the sea view from the balcony is superb. The pool area is really good with plenty of sunbeds. The atmosphere in the hotel is really friendly , entertainment each evening. The breakfast is also very good, We will be returning in July 2027.
I am just coming back from a quick 5 day stay at hotel Matias and below is my personal review of my stay. Room The room was nice and clean, was the caliber of room for a 4 star hotel. Me and my wife came for a quick few days honeymoon and we were welcomed with cava and a few little presents waiting for us which was a nice touch. You have to pay for WiFi, safe and iron which I'm never a fan of in a 4 star plus hotel as these should be standard for this rating in all hotels. All the rooms have a beach view, we were technically the furthest room you can be from a sea view and It was still a beautiful view. Facilities Hotel has a restaurant, small pool and jacuzzi outside and a private gate giving you direct access to the beach. Hotel was clean, reception was always staffed and all the guests at the hotel seemed happy. We didn't use the pool as it is one of them you need to get up early to get a sunbed which we never did. Meal times were a bit of a pain, we struggled to make breakfast on time. Majority of guests were older British people so the hotel early opening times and struggles to get sunbeds were down to the fact their were a lot of people up and out by 9am. The evening activities always a had a tribute band or something on which were good quality. Food and drink Food was a tad disappointing, been to all different rated hotels over the years and I think the food is what I expect at 3 star hotels. Same breakfast everyday, standard full English, omelette bar and pastries and dinner was very English catered. It's not getting to Bendiorm style of simplicity but if your English I guarantee everything served you have eaten back home in the last month. We were talking to some people and staff who have been coming here for years and it sounds like the hotel just offers what they think English people want to eat, although a lot of guests were saying the food quality has gone down and majority of people tend to go out if you want to feel like you have eaten a proper meal. We didn't drink in the hotel but bar looked ok. We got charged €3 for a small water at the hotel with dinner and no free water was offered. Again spending over double the rate you got for bigger bottles of water 10 metres from the hotel at what is ment to be a 4 star hotel does love a bitter taste in your mouth. Staff I generally believe staff here are what pushed this hotel to a 4 star, never a miserable face. Always go extra mile to help. We arrived late to the hotel and the staff were kind enough to wrap a bit of food up for us to eat on arrival. We also left late and the staff looked after us giving us dinner and shower facilities which they didn't have to do. Local area to hotel For where your staying location is really good, go one direction your getting a quieter vibe with better quality restaurants, the other way your 5 minute walk from the madness or magaluf strip. The stand out round here is the beach, really nice, clean beach, was surprised how much availability their was for a stretch of beach so nice. Day sunbed hire for 2 beds, parasol and small lock box was €22.50 which I deffintley reccomend. Plenty of shops, extremely clean. Felt safe and happy the whole time. I would say even though this is an adult only hotel I would not recommend under 16's to the area, is not catered for them. It was about 15 minutes and between €25-€30 to get to old town which I do recommend and 20 mins or so from airport making it a lovely short journey. Overall Personally I would say this is a 3 plus star hotel. For this area I can understand the 4 star rating, another island or mainland Spain this is 3 star. If you are staying for a short break, only care about easy access to the beach and it's good value I would recommend it. If it's costing a fair bit to stay here I would say look elsewhere. If you go to the hotel expecting 4 star you would be a bit disappointed, if you went to this hotel expecting 3 star, you would be pretty happy. It's definitely one of them.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, location & staff were excellent, especially the young girl on reception, she was so helpful. Food & entertainment was great. I will be returning someday soon. Thank you for a fabulous holiday
Stanze tutte con affaccio sul mare.

This is our second visit to this hotel and it didn’t disappoint again. The staff are all so friendly, the food is great and the atmosphere around the pool is friendly. Special mention to Ava (entertainment, pool and bar games) she is one of the nicest, kindest and happy people I have came across and made our holiday even more enjoyable.

Wonderful place. Booked already again for next year.
1st time at this beautiful hotel central to all shops bars diners entertainment beach right on doir step mobility friendly which is a Godsend for me every member of staff irrespective of their roles were Ace literally soo courteous friendly welcoming helpful we stayed half board breakfast and dinner lovely soo much choice chefs occasionally would come out welcome you enquiring if everything is to your liking we were on top floor and Oh boy scenes to die for spotless linen towels changed regularly heat unbearable at night even with airconditioning temperatures between 38-39 degrees draining at times but pool was fantastic guests all soo welcoming entertainment during day not soo good but Elva entertainments manager wee sweetheart went over and above her cool of duty from early morning to late at night to try involve guests in entertainment Lou 1 of catering ladies soo welcoming each day definitely cant wait till return again sooner rather than later depending on lottery luck would highly recommend this hotel which is catered .mainly for older clientele 30 onwards
Yet another superb time at our home from home. It really is an absolute pleasure to walk into a lovely cool reception to see a cheerful welcome as always. This is not a cheap hotel, but it is in a superb position and it is impossible to find a cleaner hotel. Been coming here for years it never fails to please. The upgrading of the bar area over the winter has been done to a very high standard.Food, well because of my wife we only book Bed and Breakfast, every u could wish for is available I was enjoying the pancakes with honey, very nice..The rooms have all you want very hot water and very large towels .The tv has lots of channels and air con is set by Calvia at 21c, but is cold enough I reckon. The pool bar was closed due to heat and in our visits to the hotel have never had such a concentrated heat for the full holiday .Already looking forward to our next visit.
Lovely hotel in a great location overlooking the beach. Good evening entertainment. Be aware though they don't accept euros at the hotel bar. You have to either add to your room and pay at the end of your stay or pay using your credit/debit card. You can pay in euros if you play bingo though😆. Also when you arrive there will be 2 pool towels in your room. These are not free to use you will be charged 2 euros per day if you use them.
The location was great. Steps away from a beautiful beach. You just on out the back gate and you’re on the promenade. Close to some lovely restaurants and bars and an easy walk to many more. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The hotel was clean. We had fresh towels every day. Beds were comfortable. Lovely pool area with jacuzzi. Breakfast was lovely, very high standard.
Nothing
In the son Maria’s at this very moment. We arrived a few days ago and it’s all we expected and more. Im on the 8 floor and the views are unreal-out of this world. Staff very friendly and helpful. I booked with jet 2 and would recommend them to anyone. Their rep was on hand and was most obliging, helped with anything we needed to know. Room air conditioning was set at 21 but this was just right especially in the night when it made sleeping in over 20 degrees very pleasant. Breakfast was will presented with all anyone would wish to eat from cereal to black pudding yogurt to water lemon , and as much as you could eat. Staff throughout the hotel from cleaners to management all please to see you and help in anyway. Just a stone’s throw from the beach and plenty of loungers to rent out. We rented out two loungers plus canopy for €26 that was for all day. You can have use of loungers around pool in hotel if you want to join queue around 8:30 to 8:45 and wait until pull opens at 9:30. I’d rather hit the beach. At night it’s lovely to walk round to the shops and restaurants plenary of eating places and great family atmosphere. All in all I would recommend this adults only hotel to anyone of adult age. Looking forward to next visit.
The location was really good! Sea view was lovely and rooms were always clean and modern!
The pool area was small and the older generation was queueing up for over half an hour before the pool opened just to get a sunbed! carnage! the breakfast was basic and even the some of the food on offer wasn’t the nicest quality. we paid for b&b and only used it the once and paid to eat out after that. the entertainment was again aimed for the older generation. The location was perfect for us and if your using it as a base with a nice clean hotel room then its ideal!
Son Matias Beach is a spotless, modern, well‑run hotel in a beautiful beachfront location. The staff are warm, the rooms are immaculate, and the sea views are excellent. Although advertised as Adults Only, the atmosphere is best described as Older Adults Only, shaped by a long‑standing community of returning guests. The pool routine is highly structured, with early queueing and a well‑established lounger tradition that may feel unusual to newcomers. The environment is quiet, orderly, and ideal for travellers seeking a calm, predictable retreat. Evening entertainment is enthusiastic, though audience participation tends to be minimal. Overall, this is a clean, peaceful hotel with excellent service — but its culture and pace are very much tailored to its loyal older clientele.
Nice hotel on the beach, attention to cleanliness is high. Breakfast good, evening meal not as good. View from room lovely. One thing I didn’t agree with was queuing up in a line for sunbeds at 9.30am. Also if you move from your sunbed during the day they place a sticker on your bed and may remove your towels - ridiculous, a couple next to us paid to eat lunch at the hotel pool bar and we’re away from their bed for around 45 mins and it happened to them, others were missing from their beds for 2-3 hours and received nothing, really inconsistent as to who received them, was annoying to watch, seems like people are treated differently if they’ve been visiting the hotel for a while compared to there who are there for the first time
We had a very warm welcome on arrival together with a glass of wine which was very welcome after a long day .our room was on the 4th floor, a fair size, very comfortable beds, bathroom was a fair size with a full length walk in shower. It also had night lights low down as not to use main lights during the night. A large tv with all english/ freeview/ sky channels, we only used it to look at the dinner menu. One small point if you run out of tea//coffee/milk you have to buy them your self not replaced The air con at night is set at 22 and cannot be lowered..Food good and lots of choice, problem as always with buffet people wont wait and push in etc. Service in resturant very good, maybe a bit on small side if every one comes down to eat, outside terrace as well .Meal times seem a bit odd compared tother hotels 08.00 breakfast and 6.15 dinner. No early morning rush for sun beds, gate to pool does not open until 9.30.Pay cash or to room in the bar but to your room in resturant. the main acts dont start until 9.30 but bingo every night. WE only saw one act on our first night. by the time we had dinner we had the 4 coures been for a walk could not get a reasonable seat. The balcony was a nice place for early morning tea sun rise over the bay, and for a night cap. the location is very good right on the promande, the side gate from pool are did not seem to be working. The cleaners dont seem to stop working from washing sun beds at 7.00 to cleaning around hotel. maid service very good. All in all very enjoyable holiday. Will we go back? you bet we will already booked for next April
We chose this hotel after reading previous reviews and we were not disappointed. Comfortable rooms, if on the small side, lovely shower room, extremely clean. We went full board and the food was really good, great service too. All the staff were efficient and friendly. Entertainment was extremely good too, and the air conditioning very welcome! The pool area has enough sunbeds, opens at 9.30 - some people chose to queue but it really isn't necessary unless you want a bed next to the pool. We will definitely be back but not in June as the weather was unbearably hot, which we did not expect.
It is a first class hotel in a prime location. From the minute you step into the reception the staff are extremely friendly and polite. Most of the staff from reception to restaurant and bar have been there for many years and they are always friendly. The evening entertainment is also excellent most nights.
We are going back in may and hopefully in September next year, great atmosphere rooms clean and tidy great location
Great time had entertainment not as good as last year food excellent room good staff excellent very friendly great location trouble getting bed around pool should maybe bring time forward to 9am opening
Had a wonderful time looking forward to 2027 David & Mary Stratton
Best hotel in Majorca. Adult only. Only 2 hours from UK. Great rooms. Aircon. Every room has superb sea view. Right on the beach. Great pool and pool bar. Excellent food. Clean and modern hotel. Probably our favourite beach hotel.🥰🌞 Cost is getting a little high.😡 Main bar has poor lager selection served in ale glasses - flat in 2 mins😡
Excellent hotel, very clean, staff lovely and reception very helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Food is excellent plenty of choice. Hotel on beach front, great area to go for an evening walk. Lots of shops and amenities around the hotel. Room has good air conditioning and very quiet at night. Icing on the cake is the fantastic sun rise you can see from any of the rooms which all have a sea front balcony.
Szép volt a kilátás. Tisztaság volt és a személyzet nagyon kedves és segítőkész volt.
Location, good entertainment, helpful staff, room cleaning
Not modern, old furniture, antiquated feel to the place, pool area very cramped, single beds (like camp beds) in a “suite” room is not good, food is average and not inspiring, you have to pay for room safe, did not re-stock milk in fridge, WiFi is temperamental, should supply water daily in a “suite” room, furniture is cheap and basic, coffee stains on bedroom carpet. This hotel is over-priced for what it offers. It’s a great location but very over-priced and not value for money. Sadly we will not be back and would not recommend it to others.
Just back from a fantastic 2 weeks stay in the incredible Son Matias Beach Hotel what an incredible stay in suite on 9th floor. Dinner was delicious each evening and I’m a fussy eater but had great dinner every evening Room was amazing and so incredibly clean all staff amazing as usual great to meet Sue again fantastic lady so friendly and professional. Reception staff so helpful. Looking forward to next year already 😊
What an absolutely beautiful hotel. Right on the beach and close to all bars restaurants and shops. We stayed b and b the choice for breakfast was out of this world something for everyone all the staff were friendly and welcoming will definitely be going back there 👏👏👏
Just returned from another nice relaxing holiday at this beautuful hotel. This is our 10th year to stay here it is in a fabulous location next to the beach and promenade. The food as usual was lovely even better than before so many different dishes to choose from. The rooms are spotless they are cleaned every day and the towels are changed every day. ALL of the staff are so pleasant and friendly always very helpful. We enjoyed the entertainment in the evening some very good performances. We can't fault this hotel at all we are hoping to return next year again.
Everything, cleanliness, staff, location, food, entertainment all could not be faulted
First time to this hotel and we really enjoyed it . We were in room 311 which had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, plenty of storage, fridge, safe which has to be paid for ( which I don't agree with ) . Aircon was good but set at 21 degrees which was ok for us . Good sized balcony with lovely sea views . They leave pool towels for you in the room which is good and you pay one euro each to change them . Great powerful shower and plenty of hot water. The cleaners do a great job and always changed our towels everyday. The food was generally good but breakfast for me wasn't as good as the reviews sounded eg crap catering sausage, poor bacon, slimey eggs . Also the dining area is small so it's a bit cramped to get your food if everyone turns up at the same time. The hotel bar and entertainment area is lovely but the entertainment can be hit and miss the same as everywhere. The pool area is great with plenty of beds ( which we always found one ) with great pool bar . The hotel staff are all lovely and helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and in a great location right on the beach close to lots of bars and restaurants. We would definitely return.
Excellent hotel , wonderful location right on the Beach , check in was good lovely staff throughout hotel , entertainment was very good , rooms were spotless and cleaned every day , pool area was good never had a problem getting sun beds , good pool bar serving drinks and snacks , the food in this hotel is fantastic, good bars and restaurants nearby great holiday will return many thanks Nige and Jan South Wales .
We chose Son Matias Beach Hotel largely because of the excellent reviews and decided to spend a bit more than we normally would, expecting something special. Unfortunately, our experience was that it was just… okay. There’s nothing particularly wrong with the hotel, but nothing that really justified the price we paid either. The breakfast was average, the rooms were fine, and the overall experience was perfectly acceptable, but that’s about it. What surprised us were the extra charges. We had to pay for use of the safe, Wi-Fi wasn’t included, and even changing a beach towel cost €1. I wasn’t asking for multiple towels a day – just a fresh one on day two – so it felt a bit petty, especially considering the room rates. If you’re debating whether to pay a premium because the reviews make this place sound exceptional, my advice would be to manage your expectations. It’s not a bad hotel by any means, but in our opinion it wasn’t worth the extra money and didn’t live up to the hype. One other thing worth mentioning: my husband and I are in our early 40s and were easily among the youngest guests. This wasn’t a problem for us, but if you’re looking for a more mixed-age atmosphere, it’s something to be aware of. As a side note, we also weren’t particularly impressed with the beach area directly in front of the hotel, although that’s obviously a matter of personal preference. Overall: comfortable, clean and perfectly adequate, but not the standout experience the reviews led us to expect.
Charged for wifi, safe, towels. Expensive for what it was.
We took a suite and loved the space in the room and the big balcony.
Pool area is cramped/not pretty being a courtyard and very noisy from the bars and the road.
The property is right on the beach with stunning sea views! The room at check in was clean.
Rude cleaning staff. They didn’t clean a few of our rooms for 3 out of 4 days of staying there. This is unacceptable
Everything was excellent — highly recommended!
Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Facilities great.
Very clean, good location, food selection was good.
Great location rooms were perfect with good sea view hotel quiet clean and comfortable
Nothing
Posizione, personale accogliente e disponibile, colazione varia e buona. Letti comodi, camera pulita, bellissima vista sulla baia
Fabulous
Every thing
A return visit to This amazing Hotel. Wow, if you want a hotel that ticks all the boxes then this is the one. We have just returned and feel extremely spoiled with the hotel hospitality for the last week. Its Clean and Bright the staff are always happy and can't do enough for you. The room was as fresh as the day it opened the room maid cleaned every day and replaced towels and anything else that was required. Every room in the hotel has a beach view, some of the room to the south side of the hotel have more of a side view to the sea but then they have more of the sun for longer in the day. We have stayed in the past Breakfast only but this time we did Half Board, Breakfast is amazing there is actually too much to choose from including English and continental. The coffee machines give an excellent quality of coffee. The evening meal is a wide selection of every thing from Curry to Cottage Pie to Fresh fish. Most nights there was a Special of freshly cooked meat to order including Steak, lamb and Spare ribs. Salad and fruits were plentiful and the Cakes were not just those cakes you see on holiday that look amazing then don't taste of anything, they were the opposite, full of flavour and once again too many to choose from. Drinks at the table are at an extra cost bust extremely reasonable and you can use your room pass to build a tab that you can pay at the end of the week, yu can use this card in all the bar areas . The outside pool bar and main bar will also take your tap and go Debt card. The evening entertainment is outstanding with a different act every night, usually a Singer or tribute of excellent quality. Shows start and 9:30 and go on till late. There are plenty of seats and room through out the day including around the pool, the pool is fairly small but immaculately clean and safe for all even including a chair seat for those that are less able so that they can be lowered into the pool. The reception staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. If you are staying via a holiday company then their reps will be there most days to give advise and help you with just about everything. The hotel is adult only, not that we mind children as we have 5 grandchildren from 2 children of our own, by the way we are both 59 and 60 years old but young at heart, also I suffer disabilities with walking having suffered some limb loss some years back, there is nothing in the hotel that is not accessible. Well here is looking forward to returning as soon as the pennies will allow, its not the cheapest of hotels in the area but everything is top value for money and if you slightly out of season as we did its actually a bargain. A huge thank you to all the staff at the hotel :)
This is a lovely hotel. Well positioned on the beachfront. The rooms are on the smaller side and you do need a routine when getting ready as not much room near the wardrobes and the bed. However they are spotlessly clean and the large walk in shower is a massive plus. The staff are all so friendly and nothing is any trouble. We are here at start of season and even now people queue for sunbeds when it opens at 9.30. Must be manic at height of season. Food in restaurant is pretty typical for buffets but very geared to English market. Omelette station is good but very limited choice of ingredients to put in it. Only cheese, ham or some weird mushroom puree. The only down side in my opinion is the English radio station blaring out around the pool !!! Why. I have come on holiday to Spain I don’t need to know A40 is closed or listen to numerous adverts and especially don’t want to listen to news headlines. Why can’t they play just nice music ( preferably a little quieter). I appreciate most if not all clientele are English but we are in Spain and would prefer no English radio Overall fantastic hotel and I would return.
My boyfriend and I visited this hotel this month and truly had an amazing time. We are in our 20s so quite a bit younger than the typical crowd here, but we did not have a problem with that whatsoever. Many of the reviews stating the typical age group of the hotel are upsetting and we found it very fun and precious to spend time with an older crowd. The breakfast was great. The hotel crew was extremely nice and accommodating - we truly had no complaints. The only thing to note is the pool not being heated, AC only being available for part of the year, and the amazing fact that all of the rooms are sea view!! Beds were huge and so comfortable and the drinks at the bars were INCREDIBLY strong - which we found very fun lol! It is a great place to stay for the older crowd, but the young crowd as well if you don’t mind that! We definitely stood out but had a great time.
We stayed at this hotel for a week in March, with a transfer time of around 35 minutes from Palma Airport. The location was ideal, right on the beach and surrounded by plenty of bars and restaurants, so there was always somewhere to go nearby. For essentials there's an Aldi about a 5 minute walk away. The room was very dusty on arrival, possibly due to it being the first week of the season. However, the bigger issue was that the bedroom floor wasn’t mopped at all during our stay, so it was very dirty underfoot. There was a good-sized safe that easily fit a tablet, charged at €22 for the week, a small fridge, and a tea tray with a kettle. A bottle of water and milk were provided on arrival. Air conditioning was non-existent, with a minimum setting of 21°C making the room uncomfortable at times. The food was better than expected compared to other similar-sized hotel buffets we’ve experienced. Most breakfast dishes were hot and well-prepared, with freshly cooked omelettes available from the grill. We gave up on having tea as the only source of hot water was the coffee machine, and it often wasn’t hot enough, barely lukewarm on the second day. Evening meals were generally good: the salads were fresh and enjoyable, the meat dishes cooked on the grill were very nice, however the seafood less so - the prawns weren't deveined and the squid still had sinew. Serving times were very limited, only 6.30pm to 8.30pm for dinner so the restaurant was very busy and people had to wait for tables. The pool area was pleasant, and at this time of year, there was no problem getting a sunbed. However, we were told by repeat guests that it becomes extremely crowded later in the season and sunbeds are impossible to get. The pool was absolutely freezing and therefore unusable. Drinks prices at the hotel were noticeably higher than elsewhere in the resort. For example, a pint of Heineken was €6.80 in the hotel, compared to €4.50 at a nearby restaurant. Amstel was €5.30, while most local bars charged between €3 and €4 for similar brands. The hotel offers a discount to repeat customers of up to 20% off drinks so I felt the prices were over-inflated to newcomers to subsidise this. The hotel has two lifts, but one was frequently out of order during our stay. With nine floors, this was quite inconvenient and led to longer waits. Overall, the hotel has a fantastic location and some positives, particularly the food, but it’s let down by cleanliness issues, lack of air conditioning in early season and very high drinks prices.
Keith the receptionist greeted us on arrival, made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
Nothing
Fantastic location superbly clean and staff couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly.
The only negative during my stay was there was no access to a water fountain.
Clean, modern, staff always friendly and very polite.
Great positioned Hotel , fantastic view from every room. We visited last week off the season and the resort was slowly closing down . The rooms are well equipped with everything you need. Lovely pool area ,with a gate straight onto a beautiful beach. The food in the restaurant was really good both for breakfast and evening meal. However prior to our last night were we were asked what our choice would be from a limited menu ( meat or fish ) which I thought was strange .Also the breakfast on departure day was a disappointment 8 of us in a small room with only a small selection of cereal & toast on offer. Would l return ? yes but definitely not the last week off the season .
Excellent selection of food to appeal to full range of appetites . well laid out and easy to get at .
Disappointed with advertising of activities being held . Took part in mini golf and shuffle board and despite the valiant efforts of El va running events there were few people took part . 2 people at 1 , 4 at other and 8 at other one. Permanent board needed advertising events in reception and loud speaker announcement at start time for each event will save Elva running all over the place trying to encourage people to take part .
Spotless hotel very friendly staff. Meals were lovely and entertainment was excellent too. Ideally situated right on the beach. Lots of people were returning guests and i can see why. We are also joining the returning groups we enjoyed it so much we have booked to return next September
Excellent hotel. Returned many times and a very warm welcome awaits us. We have never been disappointed. Hope to go back many more times.
Lovely hotel next to the beach. A peaceful location but close to local amenities. Rooms are light and airy with balconies overlooking the sea. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is excellent with a broad choice of dishes. A good value hotel in which to have a relaxing holiday. Can’t wait to go again.
Another great stay at the Son Matius Beach hotel. Adults only no kids allowed. This hotel caters for older couples. Brilliantly located in Palma Nova with a full English Breakfast buffet that includes blackpudding and fried bread, there is entertainment on every night bus stops close by a great pool really nice staff i can’t wait to go back i love the place
We have stayed in this hotel 4 times now and it was our 3rd time this year. Lovely hotel and very friendly staff. Rooms are lovely and clean and we chose to stay in the junior suite which is beautiful . All rooms are sea view. Food is nice too and plenty to choose from. This hotel is a minuite away from the son mataius beach. We look forward to staying here again next year.
Return visit to this amazing hotel. Staff are excellent. Rooms have everything you need and are cleaned daily. Amazing sea views from the balcony. Food is really good with a great selection at breakfast and evening meal. Lots of shops and bars near by. Good bus service to travel around the island .
Goed ontbijt maar het hotel is echt voor oudere mensen.
De sfeer en het publiek
Second visit to this hotel, location is perfect, easy accessible for the beach, restaurants, shops and public transport. Staff are friendly and always on hand if you need some help! We just had Bed an Breakfast, the breakfasts were great, choices for every palette! Only thing we weren't keen on was the room on level 1 overlooking the sea! - on our first visit we were on level 4 overlooking the pool, the views were fab and the balcony's private, the balcony's are larger on level 1 but not very private and the view was restricted by trees, did spoil the experience! Booked to go back in August 26- will hopefully have a room on a higher level!
Excellent location , beautiful & very clean hotel , staff are all very friendly & helpful. Can’t wait to visit again next year !!
Proximity to shops, restaurants and the beach. The staff who were always knowledgeable and courteous.
Excellent location situated on the beach. All areas were spotlessly clean & the rooms were very comfortable.
There was nothing to dislike.
Great location friendly rooms are great staff excellent pool Great already booked for next year with brother-in-law and his wife.
Everything about this hotel was first class, all areas very clean, views from room across the bay just wonderful to wake up to, food varied well presented. All staff from Mangers to cleaners friendly and helpful. The beach which is very sandy and just ten paces from hotel.
Staff are friendly and super efficient. Food is excellent and location is first class. Thank you for making my wife and I very welcome and a special mention to Keith who went above and beyond to ensure our special request was fulfilled. Look forward to our next visit in May next year.
Good location, friendly hotel staff and guests, rooms clean and tidy, loads of storage space, really good shower system, view from balcony exceptional and stunning, noise level low, great service in restaurant, food was delicious buffet style with a wide variety of dishes to choose from to suit all tastes. Outstanding hotel would definitely visit again.
Absolutely great hotel staff friendly knowledgeable professional brillant team all round location Great food selection great can’t do enough to help nightly entertainment first class We’ve already booked for 4 th visit 2026 all rooms spacious with added bonus have sea views
This hotel is beautifully situated on Palmanova sea front. The hotel is immaculate. We stayed in a Junior Suite on the top floor (level 9) The room was amazing, the views are second to none. We did have a look at a normal room which was very small. The rooms are clean and we had robes and slippers, there was fresh milk and water in the fridge when we arrived along with two large beach towels. The dining room is small considering the size of the hotel and the food offerings were mediocre. This hotel caters to the British for sure, the food reflects this. The hotel is mostly occupied by an older crowd, we were likely the youngest here, this is not a criticism to fact the opposite, everyone was lovely and chatty, in the dining room it was orderly and polite. You do have to queue for sunbeds in the morning, the “gate” opens at 9.30 and there are people queuing from early. We had two days where we couldn’t get a sun lounger, when you read other reviews or look on the Son Matias facebook page it will say there are always sunbeds available, this was not the case during my 5 night stay, i did queue one morning so i was able to obtain one. Night entertainment seemed good, we didn’t actually stay to watch but did hear what was on in passing. There is small bar/lounge and restaurant and a pool bar which does serve snacks during the day, there is no indoor pool or other lounges. The hotel staff are outstanding, all appear very happy and so helpful nothing is too much bother. Although advertised no flip flops or shirts/swimwear in dining room this is not adhered to. Small food selection for breakfast and dinner - meat veg and potato every night, there was paella one night. For the room and view this hotel is 100% worth it, we will return but on a room only basis.
Location is fantastic, central and a few feet from the beach. Hotel is spotlessly clean. Restaurant is small but the food is of a high quality and there is good choice. We stayed half board and had some lovely meals, roast meats, vegetables, potatoes etc. Lovely desserts and great choice. The daytime entertainment was good, Elva (entertainer) is great and very friendly. Only negative is that the pool only opens at 9.30am and the queue starts at 8.30am. 9.30am is too late if im honest 9am would be a little better. Sunbeds get full very quick due to the queue, by 9.40am they are all taken. You can go to the beach and there's plenty of beds and parasols but its €22.50 per day so can get expensive.
All lovely thanks x
Absolutely lovely hotel, the staff are amazing, always happy to help and very welcoming. Elva the Entertainer was an absolute delight to be around and really made the holiday experience fun and entertaining. She did games everyday and gave out prizes for the winners, it was always fun and everyone enjoyed it each day, it created a nice community of people that played the games each day. The evening entertainment was good and the evening meals always had a nice variety. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The only thing to note is that the floor from the pool to the Hotel is EXTREMELY slippery this should really have signs up and some matting put down to help with this.
beautiful location, clean hotel, wonderful view from the room
all was good, the breakfast was great but lacked variety
Stayed there again and as before it is still a great hotel situated on the beach more or less. Food, cleanliness and staff are all good. Just a warning for those who like the beach; the people who sell ice cold drinks (illegally) will charge you 10 euros or more per drink. The trick is usually when asked for two drinks they say 10e and place it there for one of you to have a sip. Then they say it's 10e per drink. Be careful.
A wonderful week at this hotel Anazing Staff, food & entertainment and our suite was maintained spotlessly. One minor quibble - please expand your range of non-alcoholic options 1 option (Heineken 0.0%). The biggest & fastest growing non-alcoholic beer is Guinness 0.0% which is available in draught cans.Or at least a Spanish option - San Miguel is widely available. We have already booked our next visit such was our enjoyment of our 1st visit.
