Pros: Fast efficient friendly check in and bellboy service. Had a quick dip in the pool and it had bar/food service. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Quiet respite to the outside. Parking was easy. Overall I would recommend. Cons: there was the same room service food/tray in the corridor for our entire stay. The safes don’t work in the rooms.

Enjoyed my stay here. The room was good and the pool was turned on when we reached. The room and beds were also cleaned.

It’s a beautiful hotel, we were put in the third floor and was told the elevator worked and when we tried using it, we were told we can’t use it without calling the bellboy! The tub was slippery and the shower head was old.

Customer service is aweful. Not friendly and too noisy. No information related to hotel..such as restuarant on site and other services.They claimed to have a gym...2 bikes that were not working...no AC abd smell is not good. I will not recommend it to my enemies

owner was there and immediately took care of problems we talked to her about. really interested in fixing things while we were there, rooms nice, beds comfortable, need some improvements, but overall good stay. restaurant just ok but they say making changes to improve menu.

Hotel is in good condition but needs a little work. It was probably in better condition n when it changed ownership.

I've never enjoyed such soft and comfortable beds at a hotel in Chetumal before. The staff tried their best to understand me as me or my friends could not speak Spanish. The attendant was attentive and help us get to our rooms with ease.

Overall my stay was very relaxing because of the quiet area even thought in was by the market. The staff was very friendly.

I love that we had enough space for ourselves. Also the tidiness of the place was a plus.

I did not like the attitude of the reservation staff checking me in Naomi. She was very rude and unprofessional. We arrived at 2pm Chetumal time and she did not even want to hear anything I had to say she was like come back 3 no room is ready. Very very very rude

It was as advertised, a good old fashioned restaurant, a front desk that gave us a wake up call on time, and called a cab that arrived early. Just clean and lubricate the sliding glass door to the pool.....it was very hard to slide open and shut!

I went into their big restaurant which was empty at the time and had the best coco shrimp ever. It was delicious. The gentleman at the front desk walked me through the Mercado to help me change some dollars into pesos very nice. Very good place to stay.

Great hotel in prime location for moving around the city. Near central market and Mayan museum. Room quite comfortable, beds comfortable and sheets spotless. Bathroom was also very clean.

We stayed in a junior suite. It was clean and roomy.The staff is always friendly and helpful. We have stayed at Capital Plaza several times and always enjoy ourselves. If internet is important to you I should warn you that it is pretty bad at times. Depending on the room you are in the internet signal can be weak and, at times, non existent. I think that is the single greatest need for the hotel.

Beautiful and clean! GIANT king bed was sooo comfy! Internet is sketchy so be prepared for the biz center if important.

Need and upgrade pretty bad specially the bathrooms. Stayed two nights and on one night the water was coming out of the shower in yellow to rusty color .

I like the rooms and the service but my kids were expecting to swim for the 4 days we stayed and they could not because the pool was being serviced. Its takes all week to service a pool? Very disappointing.

The property had a smell of mold as you walk in the door. The rooms were very tiny and doesn’t have a fridge. Our bed broke down as we sat on it. The blow dryer worked for 5 seconds after turning it on. Great parking and location are the only positives for this place.

The amenities were good but the room was not clean

For the most part is ok. Is a bit run down hotel but they are trying hard to keep up with it. The shower was a bit hard to get it going but it was clean which is important for me. The air conditioning is was rattling all night long. Was a bit hard to get it to cool down. I wish the wall way as air conditioned because is hot out there and if you are dress up and on your way out, by the time you get to the lobby you are are all draining in sweat.

The grounds and buildings were pleasant and the restaurant provided great food and service. The location was convenient. Our only complaint was the difficulty we had in obtaining more than one package of coffee per day for the room—not enough for two people. Drinking water was also inadequate (1/2 L) and the cost of an extra bottle was too high. Buy it at the nearby pharmacy.

The food in the restaurant was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. We don’t speak Spanish but some of the employees do and try hard to please. The pool is wonderful for children and the bar is close by for adults.

The staff is always lovely. However my reservation stated that we would get two rooms with city view and we did not recieve those rooms.

Capital has been my favorite hotel and remain my favorite. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean and is great value for money.

Very unorganized, no shampoo in the shower, no remote for the ac. They did give us when we asked. The floor in the bathroom had hair all over the floor. It looked mopped but not really clean.

Just enjoy everything inside and the restaurant the pool and the room everything went well

It is conveniently located in the heart of town. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

The hotel is old and some of the rooms need remodeling. We had to be moved out of our first room because the air conditioning unit put out air that smelled like rotten eggs. The restaurant is terrible. Over priced, they didn’t have chicken, the food was not good at all and the waiter tried charging us for food/drink we didn’t have. Not impressed at all :( However the beds were comfortable and the TV worked.

I broke my ankle while in Talum and fortunately the hotel had a wheelchair. They let me use it the 2 nights we were staying there, so at least I could get out some. Thank you!!

It’s convenient and the front desk staff is good. The ac did not work well and the room was very warm all night.

Their crepes were horrible. Chef knew what the picture looked like and I did not get Nutella but got chocolate syrup for milk. Still had to pay full price. I put room on expedia reservation and they charged more at the hotel. Horrible and did try to explain but they were right and I was wrong. Never will book again when I have to pay more than I was confirmed.

A well kept hotel in the city Centre with much to see and to appreciate: Market, Museum, Sea Wall and Walk Way, Shopping, Local food etc. Recommended.

The location is great being right across from the market and Mayan museum. The room was clean and functional and the and pool was in good shape but could use some maintenance or upgrading. The restaurant was adequate and the food was pretty good, not great and a little inconsistent over three days. But overall I would stay here again. Good value for the price.

The hotel was pleasant, located in an excellent location close to everything. My only issue was that the AC in our room was not working that well this also happened in the room of our friends. Otherwise all was well.

We always love the swimming pool. It is beautiful and relaxing there. The room was clean and spacious. The internet reception was much improved since the last stay. It is still not super fast but we got a strong signal in our room. Parking for cars is a secured area which is nice.

The room was moldy and was not cleaned properly. Q-tip and dirt was on the floor from the previous guest. Te bed covers were dirty.

The bed was extremely comfortable. But the wifi was horibble, it kept disconmecting so many times and work extremely slow when it did connect. But the staff and establishment was wonderful overall.

Capital Plaza is wonderful! Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfy beds & very clean rooms. I do believe they need to upgrade their WiFi system, though, it’s hard to pick up in the rooms. Other than that, great hotel!!

Room was very good, had a nice pool. Beds were too soft, same like most Mexican hotels.

This is a nice hotel right in the center of Chetumal. It is located in the popular Avenida Heroes where you can find many stores that carry different goods and services. It is also located right across the Plaza Chactemal where you can also find many items at very low prices.

We have stayed here several times and keep coming back because it’s a nice hotel and it’s safe. But the price keeps going up and this time the air conditioning in our room didn’t work. It was so hot we couldn’t sleep. Had a miserable night to start off our long trek driving across Mexico. Not nice 🙁

Good location. Across the street from the market. Does NOT offer airport transfer as the site says... only Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm so if your flight is not within that time you'll have to take a taxi.

Clean, safe, cool place to stay. This was my 3rd time. My go to place in Chetumal.

I love this hotel however I would like them to do something about the scent of the rooms. It is a bit moldy in terms of the scent. I would rate it 5 but the scent take away on it.

Tour package is not correct. i paid hight price but no according to book ( it rip off). tour person did take us according to the book. i want to get my money back. please do advertise to that tour any more.

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel, swimming pool was fantastic as my wife and daughter enjoyed same. Personnel were very friendly and attentive. This was my second time staying there and had a great time.
