Excellent location. Easy check in. A late check out was very much appreciated. The mini fridge and fan in the room were useful. The bed was comfortable.

The room was very warm, and the shower room was very small, the corner shower cubicle in particular was quite cramped.

Tolle Lage! Kommunikation bei Fragen und Anliegen läuft super. Beide gebuchten Zimmer waren sehr charmant und sind nett eingerichtet. Willkommensgruß mit Keksen, Tee und Kaffee!

Liked the clear instructions by the host. Very nice clean spacious room, and everything we needed..the biscuits and water were very handy.and a powerful fan! We were allowed to check out at 12 p.m., which gave us another swim in the sea (which is just down the street and across the road). We will ge back 😀

Tout : Déjà il n’y a personne pour vous accueillir dans cet établissement. Vous arrivez et vous ne savez pas ce que vous devez faire !! La chambre était minuscule, sale, bruyante. Les rideaux étaient déchirés, les murs remplis de traces en tout genre, le lit inconfortable au possible, le mobilier abîmé …. Dans la salle de bain, il n’y avait aucune pression dans la douche, le pommeau fuyait, il y avait des moisissures dans le bac et les wc coulaient en continu. Sur le robinet du lavabo, il y avait un cheveu, le dessus du tube de dentifrice dans l’évacuation et le verre pour se rincer les dents n’avait pas été lavé. Il y avait un jour en bas de la porte qui provoquait un courant d’air permanent dans la chambre. Les murs étaient si fins que l’on entendait « les voisins ». La rue était très bruyante. Bref mon séjour a été gâché à cause de cet hébergement.

Cute, quaint, nice decoration, very clean, very nice staff, good communication, great location. It also had a mini fridge so we were able to store fruits en other snacks. Overal a really nice stay en would definitely recommend.

We liked everything!

Great location, good amenities, felt safe. Right next to the beach and close to many good cafes, restaurants and bars.

Check in communication was mixed up as we received confirmation that early check in had been approved however it wasn't confirmed by the host but through booking.com - something to look out for when booking this accommodation.

The guest house is in a nice area, near the beach and the shops. Jeremy was really nice and he even extended our checkout time to 12. Will definitely come back.

L'emplacement du Brighton Surf Guest House est super bien situé, tout proche de la mer, un très chouette quartier. Bonne literie et délicates attentions : cookies, café. L'hôte est très réactif.

La chambre est petite mais suffisante pour 3 jours. Le seul bémol, la salle de bain qui est extrêmement petite, notamment la douche où il était difficile de bouger.

The property was clean and comfortable. Also, the location was great. When we arrived we had cold water and some snacks waiting us which was a nice touch. Jeremy was amazing, he replied promptly and was helpful throughout our stay.

We stayed in the king blush room and the bathroom was a little small. We would stay here again and highly recommend it. Next time we will book earlier to have a bigger bathroom. But overall, everything was great and felt at home.

Die Unterkunft liegt in einem der schönsten Viertel in Brighton, ruhige kleine Nebenstraße. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit kleinem Balkon, von dem man auf das Meer schauen konnte. Nette Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber, reibungsloser Ablauf mit Tür- und Schlüsselcodes. Netter Treat mit Cookies, ausreichend Tee und Kaffee. Das Bett war schön breit. Alles, was man braucht, ist fußläufig, außerdem kann man auch sonst überallhin gut laufen. Überraschend gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis für das ausgebuchte Nick Cave- und Pride-Weekend.

Die Böden in Zimmer/Bad und auf dem Balkon waren doch deutlich verschmutzt, das hätte man mit ein paar Handgriffen und nem Staubsauger hinbekommen. Der fehlende Klodeckel war etwas irritierend, den hätte man in dem kleinen Bad auch gut als Ablagefläche brauchen können.

Grime in the bathroom, the hot tap in the shower kept leaking when I was showering and burnt me multiple times. The bathroom in itself had no way of not getting water on the floor - the flimsy shower curtain and how small the shower is, it was easy for the bathroom floor to get really wet

Rust in the shower. Too many stair's to get up to room. Fire alarm really needs replacing.

La chambre au rez était bruyante (directement sur la rue), le régulateur de la douche était cassé et n’a pas été réparé. Nous n’avons pas vu le propriétaire mais il répondait aux messages.

The host was trying to be helpful extending the check out time for example. The room was spacious and relatively quiet and cool in a street with pedestrians above and on a swelteringly hot week-end.

The mattress needs changing I could feel the springs. The pillows need changing too as they are shapeless and uncomfortable. The plug in the hand basin needs repairing. The toilet is up several levels from the bedroom-it would be helpful if there was a night light so that if someone wants to use the toilet at night they can get to it without either switching the lights on and disturbing their partner or risk tripping

Steep, narrow treads, steps down. Steps in bathroom, lumpy pillows, too few hooks, slippy floors, no info on local area, no human to connect with other than phone if problem, cramped shower.

The room was absolutely fantastic. Jeremy sent really clear and detailed communications regarding our stay and getting entry, very kind and helpful. The room looked exactly like the photos, spacious, huge bathroom with bath and shower, large fridge, TV, wardrobe etc. Generous welcome pack too! The decor was beautiful and the location is perfect for the seafront. Also the little cafe across the street does some amazing cinnamon rolls!

Honestly, the stay was amazing, I can't complain about anything, if I had to find something then the mattress is a little on the soft side, but we both had a great sleep all 3 nights, so it certainly wasn't an issue at all.

Shower I stay twice last year in the same room as I did this time . The shower attachment was still not fixed and kept flopping forward so in the end I had to use it as a wand for instead of it being fixed to the wall.

We selected a small double room however it was not that small and it suited us. I liked the keycode access to the property which was new to us. The location was near to the beach and shops although the central town was about 15 minute walk away. No problem for us as we like to walk. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants locally and in town which catered for all tastes. A very lively, bustling area. The housekeepers ensured towels were changed in the accommodation and the welcome boxes of biscuits /teas/coffee/milk was a nice gesture. There was a fan in the room to cool us down which was lovely in this heat.

There wasn't really anything I didn't like.

3 flights of stairs, very very small room, shower was extremely small and the shower head had to be held in place (as per reviews, this is an ongoing issue). Stayed in Brighton every other year for the last 9 years, by far the most below average place we have stayed..completely understand you pay for what you get, but wouldn't stay again.

I was in the area to visit someone at The Royal Sussex County Hospital and the location of this property was excellent, it being less than 15 minutes walk away. It was also close to plenty of cafes, retaurants and conevenience stores. I was travelling alone and I felt very safe at the accomodation and the proprty was exceptional clean. It was a hot day on my arrival so I was very appreciative of the bottled water provided in the fridge in the room. The owner of the property kindly contacted me with the option of extending my checkout time from 10.30am to 12 pm at no extra charge. I was appreciative of this offer and I availed of the later checkout.

The down side for me would have to be the noise of the pipes on the wall that if you were a light sleeper it may well be an issue for you. The bathroom had a very small shower unit but it was not an issue for me as I'm not a particularly large person.

It was fantastic. No reception or staff so I didn't have to talk to anyone. Just some codes to get in. Exactly what I needed. A small room with a bed. Water bottles and cookies were also appreciated.

Wir hatten ein grosses Zimmer, gute Lage, und das Zimmer hatte alles was man braucht. Wir hatten am ersten Tag ein Problem mit der Dusche, Jeremy hat sich sofort bemüht und sich darum gekümmert eine Lösung zu finden. Danke! Wir sind zufrieden mit dem Aufenthalt.

Es war etwas ringhörig, wenn jemand einen leichten Schlaf hat kann es evtl stöhrend sein. Jedoch ist man in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend, so dass es uns nie gestört hat.

The location was exceptional. Very clean room and facilities. Quiet surroundings. There are lots of very good local restaurants and bars in Kemptown. Attractions close by. We had an amazing time. The host kept in touch without being intrusive, which was lovely. We would definitely come back again to this lovely and welcoming guesthouse.

Although working perfectly well, the shower was a bit small. The room was quite hot, so the fan was a godsend. You could hear a trickling water sound in the wall by the bed headboard. We came to the conclusion that it might be a fridge in an adjoining room as the noise wasn't dissimilar to that of the one in our room.

I love the fact that its a code to get in the main door, and we have a key safe outside our door. That way we don't have to worry about carrying keys around with us, and that we may lose them. I also loved the fridge in my room

My fan in the room was almost at breaking point. Even on the slow speed, it was rattling around a lot.

It was my second stay here, so treated myself to a larger room! The room was spacious with a mini fridge & a chair & table The room had everything I needed. Hope to return again soon!

Das Apartment ist wunderschön eingerichtet, sehr sauber und liegt ideal, um Brighton zu erkunden. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die Kommunikation mit Jeremy – er ist ein sehr engagierter und fairer Gastgeber, dem das Wohl seiner Gäste wirklich am Herzen liegt.

Leider gab es zu Beginn technische Probleme mit dem Tür-Code und die Duschtemperatur ließ sich nicht richtig regulieren, was gerade auf einer Geschäftsreise stressig war. Jeremy hat jedoch sofort reagiert, am selben Tag einen Reparaturversuch unternommen und uns am Ende unaufgefordert eine faire preisliche Entschädigung angeboten.

Good location right by the prom. Though quite a small, narrow property, it is very clean, and the process of picking up keys and entering the room was smooth.

The room itself had several issues including a hole in the wall by the door (caused by the door hitting it), and the rope on the slide-up windows was broken so the window wouldn't stay open. I had to prop it open on a folded towel. One of the panes was also cracked (see photos). Meanwhile, the small fridge inside the cupboard was incredibly noisy -- possibly faulty -- and as such, was quite disturbing to my sleep. Made worse by the fact that it's a small room, so the fridge was right by my head. Final, and perhaps most important point... the place does *not* have parking. To say it has parking is to mis-sell the property. This was extremely disappointing as I searched on Booking.com specifically for places in Brighton with parking -- which this property said it had -- but it transpires that the owner seems to think that there being resident permit parking bays outside is 'having parking'. Even though these bays are free overnight, every single one in the local area is full 24/7. Brighton is very difficult for parking and I ended up driving round for ages on all three days of my stay to find parking nearby, which I never managed to do. In the end I had to pay £20 per day (£60 total) to park in a nearby ANPR carpark at the local Bingo hall. Not a good experience for me really. And an unnecessary extra cost that I did not expect.

The Surf Guest house was a lovely place to stay for me. It had everything I needed & was in an ideal location for me. Would definitely stay again!

The staff was lovely and the location perfect - just a short walk to the beach and city centre! Room was tidy and spacious, there was a small fridge in the room and the windows were big and beautiful which made the room full of light.

Yövyimme kohteessa viikonloppuna ja olimme erittäin tyytyväisiä. Huone oli tilava, siisti ja hyvin varusteltu – kaikki oli juuri kuten kuvauksessa. Sijainti oli erinomainen: rauhallisella ja hiljaisella kadulla, rannalle oli lyhyt kävelymatka ja keskustaan pääsi vaivattomasti jalan. Yhteydenpito isäntään sujui mutkattomasti ja saimme selkeät ohjeet sisäänkirjautumiseen. Kaikin puolin miellyttävä ja vaivaton majoituskokemus – voimme lämpimästi suositella!

Lovley stay at the surf guest house! We stayed in room 2 and loved it, we loved the balcony and the windows that opened right up! It would be a bonus if there were a table + chairs on the balcony area though. However the room was lovely and clean, brilliant facilities and perfect location right next to the beach. 5 minute walk from local pubs/ restaurants- as well as a 5 minute walk from the beryl bikes which we often used. There were 2 fans left in the room which cooled the room down. We did get the parking permits which jermey provided wrong but with Just a text he managed to sort us some new ones out with no bother, thankyou ! Loved our stay thanks so much !

There was a little cupboard door above the Mirror in our room and it kept opening and closing despite folding up a parking permit to try to stop it then sometimes the light inside the cupboard would be on then off, it did scare me a little bit ! But my partner was winding me up about it so I was probably scared more than I should’ve been haha .

The bed was very comfortable. The tea, coffee & biscuits were a nice touch. The water in the fridge was thoughtful too .

The shower was extremely small , I’m not a large person but I struggled with getting in & out of the shower .

Perfect location, great commutation with staff and exactly what you want for the price. Clean, honest, and only a little tight, exactly what was needed.

The ground floor permanently smelled of delicious food, while it wasn’t a problem per se, it would make me irrationally hungry upon arriving back.

Personally for me I found the shower difficult but as a 6ft 4 man, I understand not everyone will have this problem. But I struggled. I also struggled being on the top floor as lots of stairs.

The location was excellent. The room was compact but clean and the bed was comfy. Excellent value for money.

The shower was small and quite difficult to manoeuvre in for both of us, but it did not effect our stay. The room was quite warm, but a fan was provided.

Bed was big and comfortable, slept really well! Host was very friendly and informative. Everything was funtional and lots of amenities came with the room. Location was right by the sea and not too far a walk from the centre, about 15 minutes. The seafront was about a 5 minute walk - you could see the water right as you stepped out! Plenty of breakfast options within a 5 minute walk as well.

Shower was a little small, my partner has broad shoulders so he struggled to turn around etc. It was okay for me (as a broader shouldered gym girlie) though!
