We had a terrible stay at this hotel, we have complained directly to them and asked for a refund. We gave them a full list of all the things that we found unacceptable also images it was unsafe and not fit to stay in,

It was dirty. The shower was unsafe and had the shower head capped of so only the hose was left. The glass in the sash window had dropped down which ment the frame was not holding it securly in place in our opinion it was unsafe, the paint on the windows were of extremely poor condition, flacking paint on the floor, a light shade was missing , some of the furniture had missing or damaged handles and were of poor condition, the bed base was extremely poor condition, what ever it was made from was falling off onto the floor, we felt as if we should have had some form of compensation after contacting the hotel direct as soon as we got home from our stay at the ambassador.

The location was great and close to the pier/town.

We paid £150 for a one night stay. The main light didn’t work at all, there was no hair-dryer, the WiFi (free) didn’t work and only one small body/hand wash to share between the sink and shower.

It was a minute from the pier and the beach. Excellent location. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby within walking distance.

There was no breakfast but tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The staff were exceptionally helpful i.e. carried my heavy bag upstairs. A chair by the desk would have been useful.

A chair could have been provided by the desk so that I ould use the desk. Also the lack of a hairdryer was not helpful and the shower tube with head kept falling down.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. The location was convenient, with easy access to public transport and nearby attractions

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. Although the room furniture was a bit old, it did not affect our overall experience.

There is no signal at all, the wifi is so slow, close to not working, the staff told off my friends not to stay in the lobby when there were just there to get signal from their phones. It’s too pricey for a poor service. Didn’t get our money right.

This was a lovely and very welcoming hotel. The hosts were great and the service was excellent. The location was perfect.

The housekeeping was excellent but the bath with overhead shower was slightly slippy and a screen would have been a bit better than a curtain on the shower. Not a huge problem though and an overall lovely wee place to stay.

My experience with this hotel was very unpleasant. When it was time to check in, the password had been changed and I could no longer get in. In addition, I was asked to pay a deposit, which has not been refunded to me to this day. I find the service to be shoddy and I do not recommend this hotel.

Me and my wife Michelle, we're currently in a horrible situation were my sister in law is in a local hospice. Mike and family have made us welcome and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. I really can't say it enough brilliant.

Quick and smooth check in. Location was good and close enough to city centre and about a 15 minute walk to the Brighton centre. Room was clean and Bed was comfortable. Room was a little dated and in need of redecoration and the shower took a little time for the hot water to come through (probably because room was at top of hotel) but ok in the end. Well priced and value for money for an overnight stay.

Ok for me but the stairs leading up to the rooms at the top are quite steep and uneven and might not suit those less mobile .

Nothing really, I can’t really call it a Hotel. The only good thing about it is the location. Everything else is not worth the time, the money, or the hassle to go to. Very unpleasant owner.

The owner, most precisely the man, at first the lady seem quite sympathetic, but as soon as I let her know my opinion, she couldn’t even be bothered to answer or explain anything, so she waited for the man to come talk to me. I also didn’t like the room. Pictures are very deceiving, they look nothing like the actual room we got. The corners of the room were dirty full of dust, the whole bedroom had a weird smell, probably something the owners are accostumed to. The bedroom was just old, the mattress is one of the worst I ever been on, especially for what’s called a Hotel. As soon as you lay down the whole thing goes down creating sort of a hole. Going back to the opinion I was giving to the lady which she did not wanted to contest was that, they asked me on check in hour to give them every detail present in my credit card, such as number, expiry date and even cvc code, which is mental, I have been to loads of hotels, 3,4,5 stars, nobody as ever asked me such a thing but I guess I would understand if they were a luxurious hotel, which they are absolutely far away from it. Their reason was that it’s a guarantee in case someone loses keys. Which makes me think ok, even if anyone was to lose their keys, wouldn’t that be solved on the check out hour ?? Makes no sense, and then he kept interrupting me, never allowed me to talk, he also then tried to kick us out, even though I had already paid for my nights, honestly just a big lack of education from the owners, always with an angry face and very disrespectful. After the altercation right before he wanted to kick us out, he started ripping the papers I just filled out for the check in, and then made me fill out again. I swear the only reason I didn’t walk away, was because I had my backpack and could even be bothered to find another hotel. A real hotel.

I liked that the reception was open most or all of the time very very helpful. The management and staff were all very very nice and very helpful. The bed was comfortable and everything in the room and ensuite was clean. Great location. Will definitely stay again.

ok this is a really amazing hotel for the price, everything in here is old, yes, this is true, but its very clean and its charming and cute and given the price paid you cannot beat it. Staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful, I was very pleasantly surprised. I rate this place very highly.

In my particular room which was a small single room the only thing I'd say is possible that mattress has to be changed. Obviously the staff dont actually sleep on them so no way of knowing so I will alert here that my room the mattress is sagging a bit in the middle.

The furniture was a mess. Missing one lamp shade. The windows need painting, like really badly. Just a run-down feel, and the smell of mold in the bathroom was extreme. The TV remote didn't work, and batteries were held in by tape.

The room we were in had no internet access, same for the TV in the room. Super noisy, you can hear every step taken above you. Toilet did not flush too well.

The bins in the rooms are very dirty. When you remove the bin liner to throw the garbage away you can see the bin was very dirty and smelly.

It’s in a great location. Compact room but everything you need for a short stay. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed linen was nice. The host was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

It’s a bit dated and would benefit from a complete re-decoration throughout. But then they would have to put the prices up!
