Lochnell Arms Hotel

Nous avions une grande chambre avec vue sur le Loch, très calme. Le parking gratuit est un plus pour l’établissement.

Hôtel vieillissant qui mériterait un rafraîchissement. Le petit déjeuner est médiocre avec beaucoup de produits industriels et on regrette l’absence de plat chaud salé (omelette, bacon …)

Unser auf dem Hotelparkplatz abgestellter PKW wurde nachts beschädigt, was wir morgens nach dem Auschecken bemerkten. Es gab eine Video-Überwachung. Die Managerin (so bezeichnete die Dame sich selbst) riet davon ab die Polizei einzuschalten, die würde sich nicht um Fahrerfluchten kümmern (was sich im Nachhinein als falsch herausstellte, zumal es einen konkreten Verdacht gab). Sie versprach die Videoaufnahmen der Nacht zu kontrollieren und uns zu informieren. Leider hat sie sich, auch auf eine schriftliche Nachfrage hin, überhaupt nicht mehr gemeldet. Ausländische Gäste, die sich mit den Gegebenheiten im UK nicht so auskennen, derart hängen zu lassen, ist ein absolutes No-Go! Auf die Art war es eine teure Nacht für uns. Überhaupt wirkte das ganze Haus so, als würde es von bemühten Amateuren und nicht von Profis geführt. Das Haus sollte man mit großem Bogen umfahren.

Room 6 The room was not exactly quiet, as the party walls in the room are pretty thin and the ‘neighbours’ we had were vocally loud all night and had their TV on very loud. There was a constant tapping throughout the night. It wasn’t the best or relaxing sleep for had. The toilet seat was loose and needs tightening up as it was slipping and sliding when you sat on it. The shower pressure was poor and this was despite having a shower at a non busy time when most would have one. It would be very hot or very cold throughout showering. The sink is cracked and the whole room dated. The carpet in the stairway is in need of replacing as it is badly worn. This is a three star hotel but from our experience in our room, it would only just make that and that was due to the friendly staff.

Struttura tipica e molto confortevole. Camere bellissime e complete di ogni comfort. Anche il pub e la sala da pranzo sono molto belle. Quando siamo arrivati noi avevamo prenotato la cena ma il cuoco era malato, ci hanno mandato nel ristorante dell’altro hotel di loro proprietà e ci hanno offerto un giro di bevande. Molto gradito!

Mouldy bread was unacceptable and put us right off. Asked to speak to the manager but she wasn't there until 12pm!

TV didn't work until we found out the extension lead it was plugged into had a 10 amp fuse in it. Swapped the fuse from the kettle to get it working!

Really homely and comfy. Great staff and service. Location is stunning and not far from Oban with good bus service.

Die Lage in der Nähe zur Connel Bridge, zum Strand in wenigen Metern, zu Oban in 15 Minuten war super. Aussicht von Terasse, Frühstücksraum und unserem Zimmer war traumhaft

Tische im Restaurant und Frühstücksraum fühlen sich klebrig an. Sind nicht schmutzig sondern Problem mit Beschichtung und Reinigungsmittel oder so. Das könnte verbessert werden.

Soggiorno davvero splendido al Lochnell Arms Hotel. La posizione è il vero punto di forza: affacciato direttamente sul Loch Etive, con una vista magnifica sulle Falls of Lora e sul Connel Bridge, soprattutto al tramonto. Svegliarsi la mattina con quel panorama vale da solo il viaggio. L'accoglienza è stata calorosa e genuina, esattamente l'ospitalità scozzese che si spera di trovare. Il personale è gentile, attento e sempre disponibile a dare consigli sulla zona. La camera era pulita, confortevole e ben tenuta, e la colazione scozzese completa è un ottimo modo per iniziare la giornata.

Worn star carpet (not a good look) room 10 bed have a king size bed but a double mattress which was so soft and worn very uncomfortable. No mattress protector. Squeaky floorboards. Breakfast very poor. Pot of tea cold.

Staff on arival and dinner at night were very good and attentive to our needs, a very warm welcome and shown round the hotel and the room had a great view of the Loch and bridge.

It said brekfast was included but it was only a continental breakfast when we had expected the full Scottish breakfast, we were offered to go to another hotel across the bridge for a cooked breakfast but that was not possible for us and the guy setting up the continental breakfast ws not very helpfull or happy to be there , not a great selection of breakfst goods when we arrived and had to ask fo more pastries, plates etc.

Bella la vista. La camera era grande e anche il bagno. Il personale estremamente gentile e disponibile. La zona è silenziosa e i letti molto comodi.

Al nostro arrivo abbiamo trovato tutte le finestre aperte perciò la camera era fredda. Mancava il bagnoschiuma che era finito. La colazione poteva essere un po' più rifornita.

Staff molto gentile e disponibile. Struttura tranquilla con un ottimo ristorante interno.

Non è dotata di ascensore e inoltre è presente ovunque la moquette il che rende davvero complesso portare su i bagli per le scale. Pulizia discreta della stanza. La doccia inoltre è davvero molto piccola.

La literie : une catastrophe. La salle de bain très bien mais la cabine de douche faisait 70 par 70 alors que la salle de bain aurait permis beaucoup plus grand. Petit déjeuner continental très moyen.

Un hotel? No, una bettola. La foto è fuorviante il prato è sul retro e non è neanche nell'hotel. Cosa dire di più, è una struttura carissima, nella stanza entrava odore di cucina, la stanza fa pietà, antiquata e poco accogliente il bagno raggiunge la decenza. Colazione? Delle brioches e dei cornetti scaldati e qualche yogurt confezionato, dei cereali, latte , thè, caffè. I tavoli della sala colazione erano appiccicosi. Insomma, da evitare. Ma dico io, booking come fa a proporre una struttura del genere ad un prezzo così alto??

Non c'è una cosa decente.

Le personnel est très accueillant et extrêmement gentil. La vue sur le lac est magnifique pendant le repas et le petit déjeuner. Il y a également un bar attenant à l'hôtel. Dans notre chambre, le lit simple était confortable mais pas le lit double. Même s'il est situé à côté d'un aérodrome, nous n'avons pas été dérangé par les avions et il n'y en avait pas beaucoup. Nous avons passé un très bon moment à cet hôtel.

Lovely place to stay, nice quiet setting and not far from oban. Staff are all lovely. Stayed here a couple times now and just love it, the balcony room is amazing, summer or winter 😍

das Frühstück war kontinental, also der Wunsch auf etwas Ei/Rührei o.ä. war nicht möglich. Ein Teil der Terrassenmöbel war aufgrund der Beschädigungen nicht nutzbar

Parking was available and lots of it.

There wasnt much breakfast. We came downstairs for this around 09.20am and things were already being taken back to the kitchen. The bathroom in the room was tiny and there was no fan. The staff were few and far between to get drinks from and we was told to leave our key on check out with the reception staff. There was no reception staff and the door to reception was closed. We ended up just leaving the key on the side.

We had a room with a view of the bay. Lovely. It was useful to be able to leave the car for a week when we went for an 8 day cruise through the inner Hebrides.

The restaurant service was very slow. Maybe they were short staffed when we were there. Breakfast was a mediocre cold continental buffet.

Very uncomfortable bed and sofa bed. Only cold continental breakfast available on site (extremely limited offer), hot breakfast offered at a driving-distance location for £12pp supplement. Property can overall be cleaner.

Por decir algo, el baño podría modernizarse un poco. Todo el hotel tiene un punto algo tradicional un poco antiguo pero le da un toque que lo hace aún más especial.

Very attentive and friendly staff, nice room with a balcony and view. Thanks to the staff to recommend what to choose from the menu. We enjoyed the steak pie, fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding. Loved the snug.

We had booked a room with a sea view and were upgraded to one with a balcony. Staff were charming and the room very comfortable - balcony a bonus. The weather was wet and windy but we enjoyed the balcony briefly! Dinner was excellent. The following morning the sun was shining and we enjoyed the view over the loch before moving on

The location was good, room was ok with a small TV, big mirror and a cabinet . All in all a quiet stay what we liked and the staff was very friendly and helpful

No sea view from the room - we looked at house walls / the room was simple , no table just 2 small bed sides, the window could not be opened in full so very little air flow , the toilet - shower very small / breakfast had very little choices - no cooked breakfast - no eggs / the big gras bit advertised behind the terrace was not accessable unless you are able to jump over the wall which is managble for someone fit but not for older people / the range of dinner choices in the restaurant are very small - not many choices . Overall I think it's over priced > for the room and the dinner dishes

Friendly pleasant staff

Had to leave early for ferry. Appropriate breakfast had been promised, but seemingly no means of making a hot drink in breakfast area. Would probably still book another time if getting early ferry from Oban.

Location was great, really lovely, accommodating staff, clean, rooms had been modernised and tastefully decorated. Lots of posts about the breakfast but it was really fine and there were different options and plentiful supplies which were replenished regularly - our family of 5 left on a full stomach- yes no cooked but continental was more than enough and as advertised

Shower pressure wasn’t great. We arrived later so ate in the hotel. Menu was perhaps limited but I understand that may be the case for a small hotel and it did have old school pub options like roast, fish and chips & scampi so will definitely tick many people’s boxes just not a higher end pub. That’s fine just shouldn’t advertise as a seafood restaurant as per the sign outside (maybe from a different time?) as there wasn’t any such choice and the salmon special was a mini portion for a child and it and the sauce were very overcooked. Stick to traditional which was done well and thanks for the nice service.

Lovely location. Bedroom and bathroom looked recently updated. Staff were all lovely. Good value for money food with plentiful portions. Very clean.

I thought from the pictures that hotel was going to be a bit posher than it was but it was fine. It’s an old property so stairs are precarious and wouldn’t recommend to anyone with mobility issues. I hadn’t realised I was only going to get a continental breakfast. Breakfast was fine though.
